Guile and C. Viper
The aggravated shout he wanted to let out came out as a muffled sigh as he compressed and held it in. He couldn't lose his cool, even now, even after all he had been through. After all he had promised and failed to do. Take the fight directly to M. Bison, defeat Shadaloo and protect his friends.
He set himself to the side as he leaned beneath the propeller of the plane. It had been so long since he last saw him, since he last heard from him. He followed another trail only for it to lead him to another dead end. His anger and intensity faded into a calm mournful stare.
"Charlie." Guile sighed. His guilt was so palpable and the base so secure that he thought himself truly alone; the perfect place he wanted to be right now. But little did he know that was not the case.
"Still following the same trail with no leads huh?" a womans voice let out behind him, cold and hard like steel.
"Hm?" Guile let out as he turned around. He saw nothing save for the plane sitting passive and idly behind him. Yet from beneath it within the shadow it cast he saw a figure standing, hiding within it.
A leg swept out to the sound of the clip clop of heels soon followed by the other. Guile waited as another set of steps were taken revealing one long black leg and then another. They brought a torso with them which looked it was dressed in a suit though it was far more than that. Trailing behind the torso was a long red braid of hair, that swerved around like a tail. Finally came the face of who it was, and Guile recognized who it was.
"You." he said focusing in on her.
"Yes, me." C. Viper confirmed coldly as if his eyes alone weren't enough, and her approval needed. "It seems you're still up to more of the same." she said looking him over and the state he was in. She likely didn't need any intel for that.
But for Guile seeing her here now and out of the blue, he eyed her warily "No different than you." Guile shot back.
"That's classified." she retorted.
"Of course, it is." he said sardonically. He'd expect nothing less.
"But I could give you access to it." she said, her voice loosening a bit implying something more than what she said "With the proper clearance." she said tilting her head to the side keeping her eyes on him through the orange tint of her glasses. Watching every move he made, from the tensing of his muscles when she first appeared, the stiffness of his neck and jawline, to the glare he couldn't hide behind his glasses.
"What could you have that I want? None the less that you'd want to share with me?" he asked unconvinced by her offer.
"Well," she said with a slight shrug "you want a lead on your friend, don't you?"
"Charlie!" Guile's voice erupted, but Vipers expression didn't change, but a dull flare from her eyes and the edge of one side of her mouth sliding slightly up to form a shadow of a smirk hid the fact that she knew she had him. He had given himself away in that one moment where he lost his cool and shouted out impulsively "Where is he? What's going on?" he asked again pressing her for more answers.
"All questions you want answered? I have some of my own too." he said waving him off and putting a hand to her chest.
"But what does this have to do with him?"
"That's a question you need answered more than me." she told him flatly "He could be a revenant to them." she shrugged proposing that as if it was a theory more than a true answer.
"A-a what?" Guile asked stumbling into disbelief.
Viper let out a sigh "I guess I better give you some of that clearance now." she let out tiredly, as if she wasn't expecting to use this move so early. "Simply put, we could be facing an invasion. One that he could be a part of." she said dangling the carrot before him. And he seemed primed to take it.
Guile clenched his fist "No. Not again. Not with him." he grumbled to himself, thinking only the worst. Of M. Bison and then of the Secret Society.
"Maybe not him this time." Viper said getting Guiles attention again. "Of course, that's what I'm here to find out. "
"Hm?" Guile rage subsided as he looked to her, confused again "To find out about Charlie?"
"To find out what's going on." she replied. That was her assigned mission at least and it went far beyond the whereabouts of one man. But if it got her an extra set of hands... "But the information I need to find out more is under heavy guard."
"Shadaloo." Guile naturally concluded.
"Not this time." she shook her head, and her long ponytail followed the swaying of it.
"This time?" Guile repeated "You mean.. there's another threat?"
"Everyone's a potential threat." Viper said as she even eyed him warily.
"And why would you need me then?"
"Because they may have what you need as well."
"About-" he gulped "Charlie." Viper nodded. Guile went silent. He had only two things to say, agree to help his friend or deny her due to her own untrustful nature. She would cast him aside, if necessary, for even now he was only a useful for her own ends. Apprehension grew in him as his hand tightened into another fist. But eventually he released himself from his own grip, letting out a breath as he did. His emotions were in check, he thought about everything he said he would do. If he had to take on more than Shadaloo this time he would do it "Where are we going, then?" he asked stepping forward.
Silent but dreading he waited in anticipation. For Viper it seemed she had an extra set of hands to work with. Someone who would do what she needed and not ask too many questions. Just what she needed. So, she told him only what he needed to know.
"Special Forces."
Sonya and Jax
No matter what monitor or screen she looked at all she saw was chaos. Violence erupting across everywhere, not only on Earthrealm, but every realm. But the biggest problem was there was nothing to contain this constant chaos. Nothing to hold it in or together, and it spread faster than anyone could do to contain it.
She had views of the Chaosrealm, Nethrealm, Orderrealm and Outworld. Yet no matter where she looked or what changed one thing remained the same: Kombat. Between some she'd met and even fought against, while a whole swath of them were brand new. Regardless of who they were, she knew most of their intentions would be against them. Which left them short on allies already and many of those were unaccounted for already.
Sonya tapped away on the monitor. She saw the Sky Temple against a storm, but there was no sign of Raiden or Fujin. She looked to the Wu Shi Academy yet saw no sign of Liu Kang or Kung Lao; it didn't surprise her given the attack on it. Looking to the Lin Kuei temple, it showed the tall glittering tower and temple shining in the sunlight, with only Frost standing at its icy gates. Looking elsewhere she saw other places, ones she'd never set foot in.
Each one showed a battle taking place. Sonya was so focused on all of that, that she didn't hear the man coming behind her until he was already by her side at the monitor. Like her he looked just as worried.
"It's getting worse out there." Jax said looking up at all the monitors showed.
"Like the invasion of Earthrealm all over again, only this time from all directions." Sonya agreed. From all they could see at this point, everything might as well be part of the Chaosrealm for all the sense it made.
"Any word from the others?" he asked turning to her.
"Raiden's gone." she told flatly "Liu Kang and Kung Lao went after them. And they were followed too."
"Kitana?" Jax surmised.
"She left to help too. Leaving Outworld under guard."
"Guess they won't be available to help us out too huh?" he said looking back up.
"Nope." Sonya said with a pop of the 'p'.
"Can't blame them." Jax shook his head with a tone of understanding "We let everyone lose we can too." Jax reminded her. They had a lot of reliable forces under them. But they were all out missions, each one with their own objectives against this new calamity. There was too much going on for them not to unleash all their forces. But that only brought them to the next question. What do they do? Jax looked around at the base seeing his answer already "We can't just leave this place unguarded."
"You're right." Sonya relented, though she didn't like staying put in all this "There's too much information to leave." For all they knew it held the key to turning back the tide against them. But first they had to know how this was happening, and why.
"Then it seems we're staying here."
"House duty." Sonya sighed. Everyone they knew was lost and out there while here they were stuck behind. But everyone had their duties. Sometimes the best generals had to lead from behind. Even she knew that. But it didn't mean they would avoid a fight if or when it came. Though more likely to be when.
A sudden static broke across one of the monitors.
"Lost the signal? This can't be good." Jax said.
"What else do we need now?" Sonya mused grumpily as she set about to correcting it. It seems she made progress for she heard a voice.
"Hello!" a womans voice called out frantically through the static. Sonya and Jax starred at the screen though no face appeared. They did not recognize that voice either. But whoever it was, she sounded like she was in distress. "Does anyone read me?" she called out again. Hesitant Sonya looked to Jax who seemed just as reserved. A few more stray moments passed over the distressing calls before Sonya answered back.
"This is the Special Forces. We read you."
"Special Forces." she repeated as if unsure "Then I'm in luck." she let out relieved as more of a picture came into view. The faint outline of a woman could be visible. Jax and Sonya peered in more as she became clearer by the second. "This is Agent Chun-li of Interpol." she said as the view of her became clear as day.
"Interpol?" Sonya repeated just as Chun-li first did to her. Jax was more interested to hear what she had to say.
"Report then." he said.
"I've been trying to make contact with anyone out there. Anyone with information about what's going on."
Sonya looked to Jax who spared a look to her as well. They were short on allies and information in the field. They may have to take whatever they can at this point. A silent nod from Jax let Sonya move ahead.
"The barriers between the realms have been broken."
"Realms? Broken?" she asked confused "What?" she asked followed by a more appropriate "How?"
"Your guess is as good as ours." Sonya shrugged as she leaned over the control panel.
"I can think of a few culprits." Chun-li said sounding surer of herself by the second, now that she was able to speak freely and clearly.
"Following a few leads of our own." Sonya replied in the same tone.
"Doesn't seem like there's good on anyone's end then." Chun-li admitted sadly, but then a fierce determination came over her, one Sonya gravitated towards "But what can we do to stop it?"
"Finally, someone asking the right questions." Jax commented a grin growing on his face.
"Our forces are spread thin trying to find just that out." Sonya told.
"Seems you could use more hands than." Chun-li said with a reassuring smile.
"You volunteering?" Sonya asked slyly.
"If it'll bring an end to this, of course." Chun-li said without hesitation.
Sonya looked to Jax, and they came to a silent conclusion quicker this time
"Then we'll share everything we've got. But we can't leave the base. Can you make it here?"
"Not alone. There's too many attacks and strong warriors around." Chun-li admitted losing some of that reliance she just showed as she looked around to secure her own surroundings "Fortunately," she said turning back to them "I know just the person who can help me with that. She'll be an asset to you as well." she said rekindling that fire from before.
"Sounding more like a party ever minute." Jax said. Sonya rolled her eyes wondering if he had been hanging around Johnny too long.
"Then hurry." she said getting back to business "We may not know how it's happened. But we know there's not much time left."
"I understand." Chun-li nodded
"I'll send you out coordinates." Sonya said as she typed away "But the longer this goes on, the more interference we get." she said putting her head up " And the more will get in your way. So be quick about it."
"See you soon."
"Hopefully." Sonya replied.
"Chun-li out" she nodded and then bowed, her head partially coming out of view of the screen. "Hope to see you soon." she said coming back into view.
"Read." Sonya said flatly.
The monitor went back to static before images returned again. Of more fighting and kombat. Between those they knew and those they didn't. From all across earth and everywhere else.
"Interpol. Ha!" Jax shook his head and couldn't help but let out a small laugh "You really have changed." he said as Sonya stood upright again putting her hands on her hips.
"All hands of deck, right?"
"Right." he nodded. "Things are looking up I guess." Jax said as he took a step towards the monitor, though given what each of them showed it was hard to see how he came to that conclusion "So what now?"
"We wait." Sonya said with her eyes ahead.
The old readings and reports on the monitors popped up. And it was getting worse by the second.
Fight Your Rival! Special Forces Base
Getting into the base without an issue was easy. But as they made their way things had only gotten weirder and worse, from everything to the places they went through to the people-if they even could be called that- they encountered and had to fight. Which meant that the window to close in and end this potential invasion and find Charlie was closing.
Security seemed light here, not out of lack of preparation, but out of necessity. Whether they were out there invading or run thin themselves, Guile couldn't tell exactly. But they were here now and if they had anything on Charlie and how to save him, he would need it.
He pulled himself up over the railing landing on his feet to a metal thud that he tried to soften as much as he could when he landed. Bracing one arm on the ground as he fell, he looked up and around. The sound he made hardly echoed down the long corridor before him. Seeing or hearing no signs of danger he picked himself up and made his way down the hallway following the echo he just made.
He did so alone at first, but then from the darkened ceiling and landing beside him without so much as a sound was Viper, whose black suit made her look like a shadow falling. With her by his side, they walked together.
"This is the place alright." Guile admitted looking at it. Despite its dark interior there was a semblance of familiarity with it. Of the base he left behind and all the missions he'd been on before.
"It is." Viper confirmed beside him. As far as Viper was concerned, she had chosen well when she picked Guile for a partner. He had come in handy so far and would no doubt continue to be one. They had made it here after all.
"And you're sure they have what we need?" he asked still unconvinced but desperate at the same time.
Viper stepped forward and pointed down the hallway "There should be a main room, overlooking a teleporter with a monitor hooked up to it. That should have all the information we need." she told. Viper did not answer that question directly, though. She made the first steps now heading towards the very thing she just spoke about. Guile faltered behind if only for a moment or two missing out on the same steps.
"And you're sure they're behind what's going on?" he asked as he caught up to her.
"If they're not, they certainly know who is." she told not even bothering to look at him as they walked forward. "And if they aren't willing to share that information they're just as bad." A harsh rationalization. War is war after all. But it still didn't sit right with Guile not yet.
"But-"
"We're here." she cut him off as they came before a doorframe. Turning in together they found a room just as she described. Large, open and overlooking a large metallic ring. It looked like an overturned swimming pool judging by the blue whirling hue settled between it. But it did not spill out as water would but remained in place. That was it, the portal. The one that could take them to anywhere they needed. One that could take him to find Charlie and save him.
And beneath it just as she was the monitor. One that no doubt would allow you to use the teleporter and continued any information pertinent to it. And judging by the flashes of the monitors and images on the screen there was a lot more to process recently. That is what they were truly here for.
They walked forward together, silently entering what should be the most secure room in the whole base if it was as important as they were led to believe. But perhaps everything going on had drained their resources and redirected their attention elsewhere. Which would bode well for the two of them.
As Viper approached the monitor, a hand ran through her hair, pausing atop her head to pull out from the beginning of her long ponytail to pull out a small chip. Reaching the monitor right as she pulled it out, she came to a stop and put her hand down to insert it into the monitor.
As she remained there, Guile continued to look around. More concerned than she was it seemed.
"How long will it take?" he asked nervously.
"As long as I need it to." she replied stiffly.
"And you're sure it has everything we need?" he asked again for his questions was never truly answered.
"That's what we're here to find out."
"If you say so." he finally relented with a sigh. She didn't seem interested in continuing this conversation. So, Guile set his sights elsewhere in the room. Then he turned towards the door before upwards and then elsewhere, he heard something that caught his attention. Like an alarm going off, though much more subtle and natural than that. It got Vipers attention as well as she looked in the same direction finally taking her eyes off the controls and portal.
Footsteps were approaching down the metal hall. With a womans voice speaking right as she turned into the doorway and came into view; a blonde haired woman in a military uniform speaking to someone over a communicator.
"We'll talk more when you arrive. Just make sure-" she stopped short of her movements and conversation when she turned into the room and saw two people standing before the monitor. Two she did not recognize and therefore had no clearance or right to be here. "Security Breach!" she shouted and lunged forward coming from the top of the stairs to them. Viper bladed her body to face her, but Guile put himself between the two. "What the hell are you doing here?!"
"That's classified." Viper said calmly to her contrasting her aggressive behavior. Speaking to Sonya just as she did to Guile when she first recruited him.
"Engage lockdown!" she said into her wrist before she set it down by her side readying it for a fight. Alarms blared and the metal doors around them began to close to point towards them. Sonya then raised an arm to point at them "You aren't going anywhere."
"But we've made it this far already." Viper put her hands up to shrug as Sonya glared at her "A shame too." Viper said stepping up past Guile effectively blocking him out "We were just ready to leave." she set her eyes dangerously on Sonya before her "And you're in the way."
"You're not leaving." Sonya glared at her "Not with that you're not." she nodded off to the monitor in the background behind them "And not in one piece at this rate."
"And what are you going to do to stop me?" she said waving her hands with the disc containing the information on it.
"Whatever we have to." a deep voice commanded from the shadows. Stepping up to come beside Sonya, a man stood before them. Yet even in the shadows his arms shined, like light was being reflected off of them. For they weren't regular arms at all, but metal cybernetic ones. It was two on one as Viper stood off against them, but she wasn't alone either. So, it was time Guile entered this fight, only he wasn't prepared for that yet.
"Hold on." Guile said putting his arms up and coming forward "We're not here to fight."
"No, you're here to steal." Jax said.
"We just need information, for what's going on."
"If you wanted that you should've asked nicely. And you don't seem like you have the clearance."
"Then we'll get it ourselves." Viper said. Then suddenly she lashed out at Sonya kicking up at her. Sonya flipped back and fired a pink blast from her wrist at her. Viper flew out of the way going upwards as her boot's projector her up at Sonya. They exchanged blows in the air as they came back down to the ground. Once they were back down Sonya swung at Viper who dodged under it and came up with a kick that Sonya ducked under.
As those two fought, Jax and Guile remained where they were. But Jax made the first move taking a step towards Guile.
"Don't do this." Guile pleaded still having his hade up defensively but not moving from his place.
"Should take your own advice." Jax said before he lunged forward with a mighty punch. Guile tried to block it but was too slow and was hit hard by a right hook. It only managed to knock his head right into the left hook that followed up. He stumbled back from the heavy blows. Looking past the fists swinging at him, he saw Jax before him and behind him Viper and Sonya fighting all around the base.
Rolling his shoulders, Guile set his arms into place and slammed his hands together. The ensuing force from it send a sonic boom out that hit right into Jax knocking him off his feet and to the ground.
"Sonic boom." Guile shouted.
"Jax!" Sonya shouted and then went to his side as he got up. Wiping a metal hand across his mouth Jax set his eyes onto Guile. Then he picked himself up.
"You two are in a whole world of trouble." he said as he got up and slammed his arms together with Sonya taking her stance beside him "But I guess that's the only kind we get here." he said as Viper came alongside Guile.
"It didn't have to be like this." Guile grumbled, to Jax who wouldn't listen, to Viper who didn't care and himself who knew better.
Then side by side they charged.
Sub-boss Necalli Hour of Battle! Guile and C. Viper
It wasn't a surprise they got into a fight here, but it was a shame. But when they got what they needed and battled their way through them they made a break for it. Guile looked back shamefully at Sonya and Jax before he looked ahead to Viper. Her head was in the game, haven gotten what she said she would. But he would need it too, even if he didn't like the methods of how.
The metallic halls of the base shined red as the alarms blared all around them. But with the biggest threats behind them, nothing could stop them from escaping.
Save for the one thing rising from the ground, out of a pit of its own making. Organic and out of place in this cold metal structure, but red like the alarm lights going off.
Viper being a step ahead came to a stop first and Guile did as well abruptly but coming up right beside her.
"Special forces?" he asked as Necalli's feet touched the ground.
"No." Viper answered "But he's in the way." she said "Let's take him out before they catch up."
Guile came up beside her ready for another fight, though he was more certain there would be no other way around this one.
"You cannot run from me!" Necalli called.
"We don't have time for you." Viper snapped at him. He let out a roar as Viper and Guile threw themselves at him ready to plow through him and complete their mission.
Sub-boss Necalli Hour of Battle! Sonya and Jax
Viper and Guile made a dash to get away from them. The alarms blared throughout the base so they knew they wouldn't get far. Shouts of terror and defeat radiated down one hall.
"This way!" Sonya said as she ran off and Jax ran with her. They heard another blood curdling scream before an animalistic roar was let out bringing Sonya and Jax to a halt. Stunned by what they heard the two looked to each other briefly sharing an uncertain glance.
"They can't be them." he said.
"Can't be good either." she said as she cut around the corner and there, they saw it. With a hallway full of discarded soldiers one figure stood above them all declaring one thing.
"Pitiful weak souls." Necalli growled as his guttural voice and grunts echoed all around.
"We got another intruder." Sonya put her fists up and getting, not only Jax but his attention. Turning around to them his dangerous eyes saw both of them and a change seemed to come over him.
"These two are stronger." he said livelier but still sounding like death itself. He then went low to the ground as if a predator ready to attack his prey.
"Think this one different than the others." Sonya commented.
"Don't matter. He'll get the same greeting." Jax said as he pounded a metal fist into his other open metal palm.
"You can't deny me! I cannot be denied!" Necalli shouted.
"Well, let's show you how it's done then."
Guile and Viper Ending
The pitch-black jungle had appeared on the edge of the base as they made their escape, jumping right off of the outer perimeter and falling into the jungle. But whatever kind of jungle this was, it was not like any he had ever been to. The fauna may be familiar but what resided inside it was far from it. Showing just how far this invasion, this merging or whatever terrible occurrence this was had come only farther and farther.
They had gotten into a pretty bad scrap back there at the Special Forces Base. They were strong opponents, probably the strongest the two of them faced on their shared distrustful journey. But Viper had gotten what she needed and was the one to call the shots. But naturally that meant he was closer to getting answers of his own.
Guile raced behind her plowing through two tall leaves to come into a small clearing. He found Viper there again. Not running, but standing still with her arms crossed, overlooking the data she had acquired. The chip linked up to her suit allowing her to read the date that passed into her glasses.
"Hm... interesting." she said intrigued as it scrolled before her very eyes.
"What?" he called out and she seemed to flinch when she heard him, as if just reminded he was still with her. Looking back over her shoulder she confirmed he was still there "What is it?"
"I've gotten exactly what I needed." she said turning away from him again.
"Then what is it? What's going on here?"
"M. Bison. Shadaloo. Not surprising." she rattled off the familiar to him before turning to the unknown "Seems he was using a teleporter of his own, gathering the Kamidogus from these different worlds- scratch that. Realms" she corrected herself as she read through the information falling through her glasses.
"Realms?" Guile repeated. It would explain all the other weird and wild warriors they faced. And the fact M. Bison was behind it wasn't shocking. But it also meant that those people back there, the Special Forces. Sonya and Jax they were just defending themselves from two aggressors. And he was one of them. It felt like a gut punch all its own. Another failure he couldn't live with.
"But it seems Bison's got other plans as well." Viper said as her eyes focused on the new information before her. It seems there was even more going on that just the realms barriers being broken. And a bigger threat approaching.
"Does it involve Charlie?" Guile asked. Viper turned back to him, her hair dangling behind her waved as she did "What about Charlie?"
"Charlie Nash?" Viper stated and asked. Guile nodded his head. "Not sure." she shrugged calmly "I was told to get the information on what's going on and what their plans are. And I've found that."
"But" Guile began sharply, clenching his jaw "those people back there." he gritted his teeth "That means they weren't our enemy. But you made them so."
"They didn't want to play nice." she said running her long braid through a hand "And I wasn't going to fail a mission." That hit Guile even harder. He didn't want to fail either, but he wasn't ready to cast everything aside like that. Hearing her say that it felt like a knife was stabbed into him and was being twisted. Guiles whose fists tightened with the rest of his body.
"Did they even have what I needed?"
"Possibly." she shrugged "They keep tabs on more than just our realm it seems. But they know whose gone missing from each. Perhaps they do. But I didn't get time to sort that out." she said coldly.
Guile was furious as her, and it showed, but he had nothing more to say. In fact, he didn't even want to look at her. Instead, he turned on his heels putting his back to her and started heading in the opposite way. Back the way they came.
"And where do you think you're going?" she asked.
"Back there." he told looking back over his shoulder at her now "Your mission may be over, but mine isn't."
"My mission has only just begun it seemed." she said as more code and date scrolled down her lenses.
"Then it's yours to finish. Not mine. This... this was never for me." he said looking back ahead "I have my own mission. I have to make amends for this." he set his gaze ahead of him and back to the base which he would see peeking through the jungle and knowing he could make his way back to it "Even if I do it alone."
"Tsh. Suite yourself." she scoffed as he disappeared into the brush. His purpose to her had been fulfilled anyway. With him gone, she could concentrate on her own mission. She turned her head away as she heard the swatting of leaves and vines get dimmer and dimmer. Before long it was just her in the silence of the jungle and she read some more "Hmmm" she let out intrigued at the name "Ermac."
Sonya and Jax Ending
It was hard work defending the base from so many threats especially when those threats only got harder to fight against. And it seemed each time one left another appeared to get even closer to them. Case in point, the alarms blaring now.
"More intruders." Sonya said as she looked around.
"This just never gets old." Jax said as he put his fists up readying for another fight as Sonya did the same beside him. They kept their eyes ahead towards the open doorway to the control room. Waiting for another pair to come through those doors, whether it was to take their information, take over this base or anything in between, they would beat them back.
Appearing in the doorway were two more people just like they anticipated. One woman dressed in a green leotard with her arms and legs exposed and a red beret on her head. The other in a blue dress and spiked bracelets. Startled at first, the two's expressions softened when they saw them. Needless to say, it was who they were waiting for all this time.
"Chun-li!" Sonya let out relieved and excited at the same time "Cammy!"
"We finally made it." Chun-li replied happily to her as they entered the room. Sonya and Jax finally put their arms down, relieved that for once someone coming through those doors wouldn't be getting into a fight with them.
"Hope we didn't take too long." Cammy added when they finally joined up.
"We kept ourselves busy." Sonya said cheekily.
"Lotta strange customers these days." Jax finished as they two duos lined up across from each other.
"We know what you mean." Chun-li agreed "You wouldn't believe the kind of trouble we've been through getting here." Before that could divulge into another story Cammy cut to the heart of the matter; that they were here.
"But now that we are," she began pointedly "so what's the plan from here?" Cammy asked looking around to the other three "There's more trouble brewing than just here."
"Where do we start?" Chun-li asked.
Sonya smirked "Think we have something we might both find interesting."
"I think I can be of help with that." a man's voice let out echoing through the base. It brought on two different reactions. Sonya and Jax were overcome with shock, their eyes widening in alarm. In contrast Chun-li and Cammy seemed more surprised.
"That voice..." Cammy asked as she and Chun-li began to look around "is that?"
"It is." Chun-li said turning around. Cammy did the same and looking past them Sonya and Jax looked to the door again and the shadow of a man that was coming down it. Making a turn to come into the door frame and stepping out of the shadows was none other than Guile. "Guile!" she called out his name. Chun-li smiled and Cammy looked relieved just as Sonya and Jax were before, and that soon turned into surprise. But they did not see the hardened glare coming from the two behind them. Specifically, from Jax.
"You." Jax set his eyes dangerously on him. Guile, however, did not seem angry, but remorseful. Jax took a powerful step forward getting ready to rear his metal fist down and bear it onto Guile. But just as sudden as his movement Cammy and Chun-li jumped out before him stopping his war path.
"What are you doing?" Cammy asked.
"That's one of the guys who just invaded our base!"
"Guile?" Chun-li asked as Cammy looked back to him "He wouldn't!"
"It's alright." Guile said as he came forward "He's right." he stopped before them.
"But how-"
"I was tricked." he cut her off "Lead to believe I was helping everyone. Instead, I was just serving someone else." he dropped his head remorsefully. Picking it back up he looked to them "You have a right to distrust me. Fighting you isn't what I wanted. But I was only trying to help a friend. One who may be trapped against his will." he paused looking at the mix of emotions that were centered around him. Jax's anger, Sonya's distrust, Chun-li's confusion and Cammy's uncertainty. "If you'll let me, I'll earn that right." he said focusing on Jax and Sonya and offering his service to them.
Jax looked unconvinced. Sonya looked to him and then to the two women before her. "What do you two think?"
"If things are as bad as we think they, are we'll need all the help we can get." Cammy told.
"And he's one of the ones you wouldn't want to fight against."
"I know that much." Jax admitted begrudgingly. He looked down to Sonya and the two exchanged a silent glance before she nodded followed by him "Alright, you got the chance." Jax said easing up if only a little "But remember," he raised a pointed metal finger to him "I don't trust you just yet."
Unoffended Guile nodded "I understand." he affirmed solemnly.
"But that'll change soon enough." Chun-li said confidently coming up beside him.
"We'll see." Jax crossed his arms.
"So," Cammy let out " I think we were figuring out what to do next?"
"It's funny you should mention that." Sonya said her gaze going not to her, but to the monitor behind them "Because I had just that idea."
Following her, everyone looked to it now.
It showed a map and two red dots, blinking red growing ever closer to each other. A line ran from each one that sprouted out into a picture fit with a bio of each. And both dots were known to each of them.
The one on the left showed a grizzled, tattooed Australian criminal with metal plate over his gleaming eyebright. The other on the right showed a Korean woman with her right eye glowing purple. Both shared a manic sadistic grin on their face.
