Another chapter of this story is finally out and I feel relieved. I tried to fix a few parts from the original script that would be useful in the following chapters.
Earlier that morning...
Jan Di was in her cottage getting dressed. She decided to wear a white off-shoulder top and a cherry short skirt with her favorite pair of wedge sandals. She looked at herself in the mirror, smiling and recalling how she woke up in Ji Hoo's arms this morning. Ji Hoo had kept his promise of not doing anything she didn't like and made sure she felt safe and loved throughout the night. He had placed the pillow in between them to maintain a respectful distance, as Jan Di had asked, but they still held each other tightly, finding comfort in each other's embrace. As Jan Di admired her reflection, she recalled that Gu Jun Pyo would come to take her on the helicopter ride that he had planned as a surprise. She couldn't help but feel sad for him since she didn't feel the same way about him.
Jan Di couldn't deny that Gu Jun Pyo had put a lot of effort into their vacation, and she was growing fond of him. She appreciated his gestures, but her heart belonged to someone else. Jan Di was struggling to find a way to let Gu Jun Pyo down gently without causing him too much pain.
Ji Hoo was the man who held her heart; he made her feel alive and understood her in a way that no one else could. Every moment with Ji Hoo was filled with warmth and comfort, making it impossible for Jan Di to imagine a future without him. He is an absorbing man with a captivating presence. With just a glance, he effortlessly makes everything around you fade away. His gentle touch and soothing voice had a way of calming Jan Di's restless soul, making her feel safe and loved and she couldn't bear the thought of hurting Gu Jun Pyo any further. She knew that honesty was the best policy, but she also wanted to protect the friendship of the two best friends.
Jan Di hoped that Gu Jun Pyo would understand and respect her feelings, even if it meant breaking his heart in the process. "Are you done yet?" Jun Pyo said, standing at the door of her bedroom, looking at her standing there with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. Jan Di was the first girl he ever loved in his entire life, and the thought of losing her was unbearable. Their relationship had no foundation at all and was built on a challenge Jun Pyo had made to himself.
He knew Jan Di was somehow in love with his best friend, Ji Hoo, but couldn't bring himself to admit that he had been wrong in pursuing her. He had asked her to go out with him just because Ji Hoo had gone to Paris, and he had a better chance to be with her while Ji Hoo was away. Jun Pyo's pride and determination blinded him to the fact that Jan Di's heart belonged to someone else. Despite the lack of a solid foundation, he was willing to fight for their relationship, hoping that his love could eventually win her over, but now that Ji Hoo was back, Jun Pyo's insecurities started to resurface.
He couldn't help but feel threatened by Ji Hoo's presence and worried that Jan Di's feelings might shift towards him again. Jun Pyo knew he was a selfish man by nature, and losing wasn't in his vocabulary. He was determined to do whatever it took to win Jan Di's heart and ensure that she would never leave him, and now he had a perfect solution.
Jan Di took a deep breath, gathered her courage, and replied, "I am, Jun Pyo. There's something important I need to tell you too."
"You will tell me when we get there," he said with a confident smile, taking her hand and dragging her out to the waiting helicopter. They got in and settled into their seats. Jun Pyo signaled the pilot to take off at a slow pace, wanting to savor every moment he had with her before they reached their destination. As the helicopter soared through the sky, Jan Di couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness about what she was about to reveal to Jun Pyo and about what she wanted to say to him about her true feelings. She took a deep breath, gathered her courage, and turned to face Jun Pyo. "There's something important I need to tell you," She began, her voice filled with determination. "I hope you'll understand and accept it."
"Let me go first," Jun Pyo interrupted, his voice filled with urgency. "I've been thinking a lot lately, and there's something I need to confess to you as well." Jan Di's heart skipped a beat, unsure of what he was about to say. "Look through the window and see what is down there," he added, pointing at the island below them. Jan Di followed Jun Pyo's gaze and looked out the window. She saw the breathtaking view of the island until her eyes landed on the grass that was informally shaped like a heart. Her breath caught in her throat as she realized what Jun Pyo was trying to say.
"I see the shape of a heart," she whispered, her heart swelling with emotion.
"When I was young, I promised myself that when I found someone special, I would bring them to this island and show them my heart," Jun Pyo confessed, his voice filled with vulnerability. "I wanted to share this special place with you, hoping you can accept my heart as a symbol of my love for you." He reached out and gently took her hand, his eyes filled with hope and anticipation. "Will you accept my heart and be mine forever?"
Confusion registered on her face as she saw his face moving closer to hers, unsure of how to respond to his unexpected declaration of love. "Gu Jun Pyo..." she swallowed, pulling away from his face that was coming closer to hers. "I have something to say as well." Her voice trembled slightly as she gathered her thoughts, searching for the right words to express her feelings.
Gu Jun Pyo, knowing what she would say, replied, "I will get your answer in the evening." He turned and faced the pilot. "Let's get back." The pilot nodded and started the engine, ready to fly them back to their destination.
"Ga Eul," Jan Di said as they lay on the bed, "Gu Jun Pyo confessed his feelings to me. I wanted to tell him about Ji Hoo, but he didn't give me a chance to speak. Ga Eul listened intently, her heart sinking at the thought of Jan Di's dilemma. She knew that revealing her own feelings for Ji Hoo could complicate things even further, but she couldn't bear to see her friend struggle alone.
With a gentle sigh, Ga Eul offered her support, "Jan Di, I understand how difficult this is for you. Maybe it's time to have an honest conversation with Gu Jun Pyo and let him know how you truly feel."
"You know how he is. He doesn't give people a chance to explain their side of the story," Jan Di replied, her voice filled with frustration. "But maybe you're right. It's time I stand up for myself and make my feelings known." Ga Eul nodded, knowing that it wouldn't be easy for Jan Di but believing in her friend's strength to face whatever came their way. "I don't have to force myself to love someone who calls me a cheap girl who sleeps around with men," Jan Di continued, her determination clear in her voice. "I deserve someone who respects me and values my feelings. It's time for me to prioritize my own happiness and find someone who deeply appreciates me for who I am."
Ga Eul smiled, proud of Jan Di's confidence and ready to support her every step of the way. "And that someone is... Yoon Ji Hoo," Ga Eul added, tickling her friend playfully, making Jan Di squeal with laughter and avoiding her best friend's hand as she tried to dodge the tickling. "Well, maybe Ji Hoo is a good start," Jan Di replied, still giggling. "But ultimately, he was cold with me, and…he…apologized for his behavior, something Gu Jun Pyo failed to do." Ga Eul continued chasing her around the room as they both laughed. "You're right, Ji Hoo may have been cold at first, but he showed remorse and took responsibility for his actions," Ga Eul said, her voice filled with encouragement. "Who knows, maybe he'll prove to be the person who truly understands and appreciates you."
"Yes," she replied, throwing a pillow at Ga Eul playfully.
"You two have always had a special connection, and I can see how much he cares for you. Although your relationship is just four days old, it's clear that Ji Hoo has already shown immense respect and understanding towards you. Don't rush into anything, but don't be afraid to explore this new possibility either. Trust your instincts and take the time to truly get to know each other on a deeper level." Ga Eul winked mischievously, teasing Jan Di about the potential of a blossoming romance. "Who knows, maybe Ji Hoo could be the one who brings you happiness and, most importantly, your soulmate."
Jan Di blushed at Ga Eul's playful words, feeling a flutter of excitement in her chest. She couldn't deny the strong connection she felt with Ji Hoo, and the thought of him being her soulmate filled her with hope. "How about you? Who will be your soulmate?"
Ga Eul laughed, shrugging off Jan Di's question. "Oh, I'm not in a rush to find my soulmate. I believe that love will find its way to me when the time is right." She winked again, adding, "But who knows, maybe fate has something unexpected in store for me too."
"Yes, Ga Eul-ah, I'm sure there is your perfect one out there waiting for you," Jan Di replied, smiling. "Just like how Ji Hoo Sunbae found me when I least expected it," Ga Eul nodded, feeling reassured by her friend's words. She knew that when the time was right, love would come knocking on her door.
"Yes!" she exclaimed and began tickling Jan Di mercilessly, causing both to burst into laughter. Ga Eul's playful nature always brought joy and laughter to their friendship, reminding Jan Di that true happiness could be found in the simplest of moments. And when it was too much for Jan Di to take, her stomach hurting, she ran to the door of the room while Ga Eul chased after her, still giggling uncontrollably. They continued their playful chase throughout the room, leaving behind a trail of laughter and happiness.
"Stop it, Ga Eul!" Jan Di exclaimed between fits of laughter, trying to catch her breath. Ga Eul, still grinning mischievously, finally slowed down and playfully poked Jan Di's side. "All right, all right," she said, her laughter subsiding. "I'll stop... for now."
"By the way, I found a few sea beads; I want to make Ji Hoo Sunbae a bracelet; can you help me with it?" Jan Di asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Ga Eul nodded eagerly, her mischievous grin transforming into a warm smile.
"Of course! Let's make it the most beautiful bracelet he's ever seen!" she replied, their laughter and happiness continuing to fill the room. "Let me see the beads you found, and we can start planning the design together." Jan Di eagerly reached into her pocket and pulled out a small pouch filled with colorful sea beads, their vibrant hues catching the light. Ga Eul's eyes widened in awe as she examined the beads, already envisioning the stunning bracelet they would create.
"Can these create a gift for a man like him?" Jan Di asked.
Ga Eul paused for a moment, carefully considering the beads in her hand. "Absolutely," she responded with a confident smile. "With our creativity and these unique beads, we can design a bracelet that perfectly captures his style and personality."
"He gave me a diamond necklace on our date when he came back from Paris," Jan Di continued, her voice filled with excitement. "I want to give him something just as special and meaningful." Ga Eul nodded in understanding, her mind already buzzing with ideas on how to create a bracelet that would surpass even the beauty of a diamond necklace.
"How did you get these beads?" Ga Eul asked as they sat on the bed.
"I got them after the Helicopter ride Jun Pyo gave me. I walked around the sea, and I found some calm by the shore," Jan Di replied, her eyes sparkling with fond memories. "They were just lying there, glistening in the sunlight, so I couldn't resist collecting them. I thought they would make the perfect addition to the bracelet." Ga Eul smiled, impressed by Jan Di's resourcefulness, and touched by the sentimental value behind the beads.
"These are natural beads; I will get my threads, and we will make the bracelet for your prince charming," Ga Eul offered, excited to help Jan Di create something special. "I can already imagine how beautiful it will look once it's finished."
"Can the bracelet have Ji Hoo and my name engraved on it?" Jan Di asked, her eyes shining with anticipation.
Ga Eul nodded enthusiastically, understanding the significance of including their names on the bracelet. "Of course! It will be a symbol of your friendship and love for each other," she replied, already envisioning the personalized touch it would add to the final piece.
…
Jan Di and Ga Eul began working on Ji Hoo's bracelet with great attention. They carefully picked pink beads that looked like delicate cherry blossoms, symbolizing Ji Hoo's gentle and caring nature. They also added smaller silver beads that also represented Ji Hoo's refined and sophisticated personality. As they threaded the beads onto the bracelet, Jan Di and Ga Eul couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and excitement, knowing that this personalized piece would hold a special meaning for Ji Hoo.
"When will this be complete?" Jan Di asked as she continued to thread the beads onto the bracelet.
Ga Eul smiled and replied, "Just a few more beads, and it will be ready. We're almost there!"
"Does it need days?" Jan Di asked impatiently.
"Yes, it has to be really carefully crafted, and each bead needs to be placed with precision," Ga Eul explained. "We want it to be perfect for Ji Hoo, so it's worth taking the time." Jan Di nodded understandingly, realizing the importance of their mindfulness. "I can't wait to see his reaction when he receives this beautiful gift," she said with a smile.
"Right, I saw so many beads on you; can I keep some with me?" Ga Eul asked.
Jan Di smiled warmly and said, "I have so many; you can keep as many as you want. I'm sure they'll come in handy for your own creations." Ga Eul's eyes lit up with gratitude as she carefully selected a few beads to take with her.
As Ga Eul walked on the bracelet, she recalled how people traditionally make perfume by using natural ingredients such as flowers, fruits, and spices. She wondered if she could incorporate these scents into an embroidered scented sachet that could help Ji Hoo sleep well. "Ga Eul, is there a flower that could help people sleep well?"
Ga Eul pondered for a moment before replying, "Yes, lavender is known for its calming properties and is often used to promote relaxation and better sleep. Why do you ask?"
Jan Di smiled. "Ji Hoo asked me to spend a night with him, and during the night, I noticed he was having trouble falling asleep. I thought maybe a scented sachet with lavender could help create a soothing atmosphere and aid in his sleep." Ga Eul nodded understandingly. "That's a thoughtful idea. Lavender is also believed to reduce anxiety and stress, so it could definitely benefit Ji Hoo."
"And what was more surprising was that he placed his nose on my neck, and he fell asleep immediately. Do you think my body scent had a calming effect on him as well?"
Ga Eul pondered. "It's possible. Our sense of smell can have a powerful impact on our emotions and relaxation. Perhaps your natural scent provided him with a sense of comfort and security," she replied. "And I remember you smell a lot like jasmine flowers, which are known for their soothing properties. It's possible that your scent reminded Ji Hoo of a peaceful and serene environment, helping him to relax and feel at ease."
…
"How did your talk with Gu Jun Pyo go?" Ji Hoo asked eagerly, curious about the outcome of the conversation Jan Di had with him. He knew that Gu Jun Pyo's opinion held great significance and could potentially affect their relationship since they were seeing each other behind his back.
Jan Di shook her head. "He didn't give me a chance to speak. It was as if he knew what I wanted to say to him before I even said a word."
Ji Hoo sighed and drew closer, holding her waist and pressing his forehead against hers. "I'm sorry, Jan Di. I never meant for things to get so complicated between us. Gu Jun Pyo doesn't like things that don't go his way, and he can be possessive. I'm sure after this vacation, I will be the one to talk to him."
"We can do it together," Jan Di replied, wrapping her arms around his neck, and pulling him even closer, their bodies melding together. She could feel his warmth and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat, providing her with comfort and reassurance. "I don't want you to face him alone, Ji Hoo Sunbae. We'll face whatever comes our way together."
Ji Hoo smiled and kissed her forehead. "I think ever since I met you, I've become a stronger person. I used to not care about things around me. I preferred to sleep and ignore them, but now I feel awake and alive. You've brought so much light into my life, and you make me feel special and a better man every day."
"Do you think I am special?" She asked. "Out of all the girls, why did you choose me? Won't people blame you for choosing someone like me?"
"You know I like...you, I have never felt this way for anyone before. It's like the first day I saw you when I entered school. Watching you play your violin in the woods, my heart..." she stopped avoiding his intense gaze.
"Your heart?" he prompted, his eyes filled with curiosity and affection. "Tell me, what did you feel when you saw me?"
"When I saw you, it was like everything around me faded away. It was as if time stood still, and all I could focus on was you and the music. My heart felt a rush of emotions that I couldn't explain, but it was a feeling I'd never felt before. It was a mix of excitement, joy, and a deep sense of connection. I felt like I had finally found something or someone that completed me, like a missing piece of a puzzle. It was as if my heart had recognized you before my mind even caught up.
Ji Hoo looked into her eyes and gently held her hand. "When I first saw you... I can't lie because it wasn't love at first sight. But there was something about you that intrigued me and made me want to know more about you, and whenever we kept on meeting, the spark between us grew stronger. It was like our souls were drawn to each other, intertwining in a way that felt inexplicably familiar. Every conversation we had, every smile we shared only deepened my admiration for you." He paused for a moment; his voice filled with sincerity.
"I realized that love doesn't always happen instantly. It's something that grows over time, nurtured by the interactions we have. I don't know what it is that I am feeling right now, but all I know is that it feels incredibly special and unique. The more I get to know you, the more I find myself wanting to be a part of your life and experience all the beautiful moments and challenges that come with it. You bring out the best in me and inspire me to become a better person. I can't help but imagine a future where we create countless memories together, supporting each other through thick and thin."
"You've never spoken so freely, right?" She asked him "You're opening up in a way I've never seen before," she said, her eyes filled with curiosity and admiration. "It's refreshing to witness this side of you, and it makes me happy to know that you are slowly letting your guard down."
"Actually..." he hesitated for a moment; his voice filled with vulnerability. "I just don't want to show you the other side of me; I want to share my whole self with you. I want you to see all the several aspects of who I am, both the good and the not-so-good. It's scary, but I trust that you'll accept me for who I truly am."
She smiled warmly, her eyes reflecting understanding and reassurance. "I appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. Building a strong foundation in our relationship means embracing all parts of ourselves, even the ones we may not be proud of."
"After my parents' accident, I was left an orphan."
"I know," she spoke softly.
"My grandfather abandoned me, and I ended up being raised by the maids of my home. I became cold and guarded, afraid to let anyone get close to me." She reached out and gently touched his hand.
"I can't imagine how difficult that must have been for you."
"And then Seo Hyun came in, like a mother to me since she was older than me. She took me to explore the outside world, but I still kept my walls up. It took a long time for me to trust her and let her in, but she never gave up on me. She showed me what it meant to have a family again and taught me how to love and be loved."
"By your friends?"
"Yes," he said, smiling. "I found a best friend in Gu Jun Pyo, who has parents but was never around. He became like a brother to me, always there to support and protect me, and then Woo Bin and Yi Jeong came into my life as well. They showed me the true meaning of friendship and loyalty. Together, we formed an unbreakable bond, and they became my chosen family. We shared countless memories and experiences that shaped me into the person I am today."
"You became the F4," she added with a smile.
"Yeah, but the coldness in me was still there despite having such amazing friends. But you came in like a burning piece of iron, melting away the ice that had surrounded my heart. Your warm eyes, your caring personality, and your smile—that bright and genuine smile—lit up my world."
"But I thought you were annoyed by my constant presence," she interrupted.
He chuckled, shaking his head. "No, it was quite the opposite. Your constant presence brought me comfort and a sense of belonging that I had never felt before. You were like a ray of sunshine in my life, melting away the darkness and filling it with warmth."
"Then why did you leave the stairwell?"
"It's because the feeling was unfamiliar to me that I hated change," he explained. "I was scared of getting too attached and losing that sense of belonging if things were to change. So, I tried to distance myself, thinking it would protect me from potential heartbreak. But now I realize that was a mistake because being apart from you only made me realize how much I truly missed your presence."
"Then…" she closed her eyes and pecked his lips softly, "maybe it's time for us to embrace change together and see where it takes us."
He closed his eyes and leaned his forehead towards hers, asking her to be his source of warmth forever. She readily accepted the request, and he knew that their love and the comfort they provided each other would thrive as long as they stayed together.
She smiled, intertwining her fingers with his. "I promise, I'll always be by your side, keeping you warm and reminding you of the love we share." She said this and took his lips with her own, kissing him softly as a gentle breeze swept through the air.
She ended the kiss too soon for his liking. He knew she was still bashful and learning to do this.
He took the initiative, cupping her face in his hands and leaning in for another kiss. As their lips met again, he could feel her confidence growing and her kiss becoming more passionate. He pulled her closer, savoring the taste of her lips and the electricity that surged between them. Lost in the moment, they both forgot about their surroundings, completely consumed by the intensity of their connection. It was a dance of vulnerability and desire as they explored each other's lips with an unexpected hunger, leaving them both craving for more.
Meanwhile… Gu Jun Pyo, as he was following the trail Jan Di had taken after their dinner, easily found her in a secluded place, but she wasn't alone. She was in Ji Hoo's arms, engaged in a deep conversation while they shared loving kisses.
Gu Jun Pyo's heart sank as he watched Jan Di and Ji Hoo's intimate moment. Confusion and hurt filled his eyes, unsure of what he had just seen. He watched them talk, smile, and hold each other with a tenderness he had never seen before. He knew they both had feelings for each other, but he never expected to see them express their affection so openly. A wave of betrayal washed over him as he realized that Jan Di had chosen Ji Hoo over him. The pain in his chest grew unbearable, and he felt a mix of anger and sadness consume him. He couldn't help but question his own worth and wonder what he lacked that Ji Hoo possessed. Thoughts of self-doubt and insecurity began to cloud his mind, leaving him feeling inadequate and undeserving of love.
Gu Jun Pyo knew himself to be handsome, rich, and powerful. He was used to getting what he wanted, be it a woman or toys. He recalls how he took Ji Hoo's toy from him when they were children, just to prove his dominance. But now, as he watched Jan Di and Ji Hoo embrace, kiss, and smile at each other, he couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. It was a stark reminder that even with all his wealth and power, he couldn't control matters of the heart.
Jan Di had once told him that money and status couldn't buy happiness, and he had brushed it off as nonsense. But at that moment, he realized the truth behind her words. No matter how much he had, it couldn't compare to the genuine love and connection between Jan Di and Ji Hoo.
…
They were a pair that had found something special, something that money could never replicate. Ji Hoo had money; he was the president and CEO of the Yoon empire and was also the grandson of the Former President of South Korea. However, none of his wealth or status helped him win the heart of Jan Di. His good and noble heart captivated her, and it was evident in the way she looked at him with adoration and affection. The way he protected her from the bullies from day one- and the way Jan Di had encouraged him to go after Seo Hyun, his childhood love, his first love, showed how selfless their love was and how deeply they cared for each other's happiness. Jan Di saw beyond material possessions and societal expectations, valuing Yoon Ji Hoo for his genuine kindness and unwavering support.
And then they began kissing, and from what Jun Pyo could see, the kiss they were sharing was filled with passion and intensity. It was as if all their pent-up emotions were finally being released at that moment, solidifying their connection even further, but upon closer notice, he could tell they had done this before—Ji Hoo and Jan Di have been seeing each other in secret. Their hidden relationship explained the deep level of comfort and familiarity between them as they moved together effortlessly, their bodies fitting perfectly coordinated. Jun Pyo couldn't help but feel a pang of betrayal and jealousy, realizing that he had been oblivious to their secret romance all along.
The realization hit him hard that he had found himself in front of them, his heart pounding with a mix of anger and hurt. He couldn't believe that Ji Hoo, his best friend, and Jan Di, the girl he loved, had been deceiving him behind his back. As he stood there, a rush of emotions flooded over him, leaving him unsure of how to react or what to say next.
And as soon as the kiss ended, Jan Di was the first to notice Gu Jun Pyo standing there, his eyes filled with a combination of shock and betrayal. She could see the pain etched on his face, and guilt washed over her for not being honest with him from the beginning.
"So, this is it? This is your answer?" Jun Pyo's voice quivered with a mix of anger and hurt. His heart felt heavy as if it had been shattered into a million pieces.
Ji Hoo approached his best friend, and before he could utter a word, Jun Pyo threw a punch in his best friend's face, the force of his anger and betrayal fueling his actions. Ji Hoo stumbled backward, clutching his bleeding nose, shocked by the sudden outburst of violence. The tension in the air was palpable as their friendship seemed to crumble before their eyes.
"Gu Jun Pyo! Stop it!" Jan Di stood between the friends, and now her concern was Ji Hoo, who held his bleeding nose. "Are you OK?" she asked, cupping his face gently. Ji Hoo nodded, his eyes filled with a mix of pain and confusion.
Jan Di turned to Gu Jun Pyo and asked, "Is this something you know nothing about? Is this a trap too?" Jun Pyo's voice sounded accusing; it was filled with anger and frustration.
"No," she replied firmly. "This isn't a trap, and whatever happened was of my own free will."
Jun Pyo stumbled back in disbelief, his anger momentarily replaced by shock. He struggled to find the right words to respond, his eyes searching Jan Di's face for any signs of deception.
"I tried to tell you how I feel for the last two days, but you kept on ignoring me," Jan Di continued, her voice filled with determination. "I didn't want to keep my feelings hidden anymore, so I took a chance and made my own decision." Jun Pyo's shock turned into a mix of surprise and confusion as he finally understood Jan Di's words.
"So, you used me to get close to my best friend?"
"No, Jun Pyo," Ji Hoo was the one who replied. "Jan Di didn't use you to get close to me."
"Stop lying! You're just trying to cover up for her!" Jun Pyo's anger flared as he struggled to process the betrayal. "I don't want to see you! The both of you are cheats," he said, walking away.
"Sunbae," Jan Di said softly, turning to Ji Hoo and wrapping her arms around his neck while he gently held her waist.
"I understand why he's upset, but we didn't plan for any of this to happen so soon." Ji Hoo sighed, resting his forehead against hers. "We'll give him some time to cool down, and hopefully he'll realize the truth." Jan Di nodded, her heart heavy with the weight of their unexpected circumstances.
…
At that moment, emotions took over, and he leaned in to capture her lips. The kiss began softly, but then Ji Hoo's lips parted, and tentatively—innocently—Jan Di did the same, deepening their kiss. Ji Hoo gently slipped his tongue into Jan Di's mouth, exploring the depths of their connection. The intensity of their kiss grew as if they were trying to convey all their unspoken feelings through this intimate act.
He ran his hands from her arms to her back, pulling her closer to him. Their bodies pressed against each other, and Jan Di could feel Ji Hoo's heartbeat racing in sync with hers. As their kiss continued, Jan Di's eyes moistened with tears of both joy for having him in her arms and sadness for hurting Gu Jun Pyo's feelings.
Ji Hoo felt the same way, torn between his growing feelings for Jan Di and his loyalty to his best friend, Gu Jun Pyo. He knew that pursuing a relationship with Jan Di would not only complicate their friendship but also potentially hurt Gu Jun Pyo even more. Despite these conflicting emotions, Ji Hoo couldn't stop himself. He tasted the saltiness of their tears as they fell onto his lips, a bittersweet reminder of the complicated love triangle they found themselves in. Deep down, Ji Hoo knew that their journey was far from over and that their choices would have far-reaching consequences for all involved.
The kiss persisted until he softly bit on her lower lip before pulling away, leaving them both breathless and uncertain of what would happen next. Ji Hoo's heart raced as he looked into her eyes, searching for any sign of regret or hesitation. But all he saw was a mix of longing and confusion, mirroring his own inner turmoil.
"Do you regret it?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. He held his breath, fearing her answer would shatter the fragile connection they had just formed. The weight of their choices hung heavy in the air, intertwining their fates in ways they couldn't yet comprehend.
"The only thing I regret is allowing you to follow Min Seo Hyun," she replied, her voice laced with bitterness. "And now, whether Gu Jun Pyo likes it or not, I give my entire being to you," she continued, her words filled with determination. "I won't let anyone, or anything come between us again."
With those words, Ji Hoo smiled, kissing the tears from her eyes and cheeks. "Neither do I, Jan Di-ah," he whispered, his voice filled with love and reassurance he didn't was in him. He gently wiped away the remaining tears with his thumb and said, "I don't regret hurting him."
Jan Di smiled and kissed both his cheeks, his eyes kissing away his tears as well. "I will do my best to protect you; I will be your shield and give you the happiness that even your friends failed to give you," she said, kissing his forehead before pulling him into a warm embrace. As they held each other tightly, Jan Di whispered, "We'll face any challenges together, and I promise to always be by your side, supporting you no matter what." Yoon Ji Hoo nodded, feeling a sense of comfort and strength in her words.
"How is your nose?" she asked him, lightly running her fingers over the bridge of his nose where he had been injured.
Ji Hoo chuckled, "I need an ice pack, or it will bleed once more."
Jan Di laughed, "Well, we can't have that. Let's go find some ice and take care of that nose of yours." They walked hand in hand, and Ji Hoo led her to his cottage. He opened the door, and without hesitation, Jan Di walked in, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity. The cozy interior of the cottage welcomed her, filled with memories of their time spent together.
"I will go find the ice park." Ji Hoo said and walked for the first aid kit in the bathroom. As he rummaged through the cabinet, Jan Di took a moment to recall the night before, when they held each other while they slept, finding solace in each other's presence.
…
"I found it," Ji Hoo returned, pressing it on his nose to stop the bleeding. He sat next to her as she helped him hold the ice park in place while they shared tender gazes. She then slowly leaned in and kissed it, causing Ji Hoo's heart to skip a beat. He knew she was still shy when it came to physical intimacy, but perhaps this ordeal made her bolder and more willing to express her affection.
Ji Hoo drew her closer to him, wrapping his arms around her and allowing her to take the lead in whatever she was doing to him.
"Tomorrow we'll face another Gu Jun Pyo, the one with a cold heart. How do you feel about it?" he asked.
She looked up at him with a determined expression, her eyes filled with unwavering love. "I'm ready," she replied softly, her voice filled with conviction. "As long as we face it together, nothing and no one can take me away from you."
"Then stay for tonight," he whispered, pulling her into a tight embrace and covering her in his covers.
"Ji Hoo," she said as she nestled her head against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
"Did you know you are warm?" he asked as he gently stroked her hair.
"What do you mean?" she asked, confused because everyone has a body temperature.
Ji Hoo chuckled softly, his fingers still playing with her hair. "I mean that being in your presence makes me feel a warmth that goes beyond just physical temperature. It's a comforting feeling, like being wrapped in a cozy blanket on a cold winter night."
"Oh," she replied, a soft smile forming on her lips. "I feel the same way when I'm with you. It's like all my worries melt away and I can just be myself."
"If you feel warm around me..." he said, looking at the white ceiling with a thoughtful expression, "…then I must be doing something right. It's a beautiful feeling, knowing that I can bring you that kind of comfort and peace."
"I love this feeling too," she whispered, her voice filled with sincerity. "It's rare to find someone who can make you feel so safe and at ease. Thank you for being that person for me."
"Do you think these feelings are healthy for both of us?" she asked, her eyes searching his face for reassurance. "I don't want the time to come for you to resent me or for us to become toxic," she continued, her voice filled with concern. "I want us to have a relationship that nurtures our emotional well-being and allows us to grow together," she added, emphasizing her desire for a healthy dynamic. "We need to communicate openly and address any issues that arise, so we can maintain a positive and supportive connection," she concluded, hoping for their feelings to contribute positively to their lives.
"I didn't know you knew so much about maintaining a healthy relationship," he responded, surprised by her insight. "Geum Jan Di, I want to tame you; I want you to stay special to me so that even when put in front of all women, you will be the only one that I see and desire." He looked at her with sincerity, his eyes filled with admiration and affection.
"Why?"
"Because you are one in a million."
The following morning, the group gathered around the breakfast table, and none of them seemed to be in the mood for eating, and Jun Pyo was nowhere to be seen. Ji Hoo and Jan Di exchanged glances. Ga Eul was busy working on the bracelet, and she hoped she would finish it soon. Woo Bin was on the phone. "Gu Jun Pyo left last night!?" The group exchanged worried looks, wondering where Gu Jun Pyo could have gone. Ji Hoo's mind raced with thoughts of possible reasons for his sudden departure. Ga Eul's hands trembled slightly as she continued to work on the bracelet, her mind filled with concern for Gu Jun Pyo's well-being. Jan Di couldn't help but feel a pang of worry, knowing how impulsive he could be. As they anxiously waited for any news, the room was filled with an uneasy silence, with each member of the group lost in their own thoughts.
"I can't believe that crazy fool abandoned us here on this island." Yi Jeong commented, sipping his coffee and shaking his head in disbelief. "I mean, we're his closest friends, and he just up and left without a word. It's not like him at all."
Woo Bin nodded in agreement, his expression mirroring the concern etched on everyone's faces. "I hope he's okay," he finally spoke up, breaking the silence. "But we need to figure out what happened and why he felt the need to leave so suddenly."
"Ji Hoo," Woo Bin said, turning to their other friend, "You own a private plane and you have shares in the air transport company, could you call and we head back home immediately?"
"They are almost here," was his only reply. What they didn't know was that Ji Hoo had already made the necessary arrangements for their immediate departure. He had anticipated the urgency of the situation and taken proactive steps to ensure a swift return home. Not just for his friends but for Jan Di, whom he was most concerned about.
That was the end of this chapter.
