The next morning Tommy was disturbed from his sleep with the sounds of yelling outside. He rubbed his eyes to noticed Cayleigh wasn't on his lap. He stretched and looked out his window to see two blurs clashing weapoons and sparring. He walked outside with a smile on his face as the two blurs revealed to be Hunter and his sister.
He jumped as a dagger of ice went next to his head. "Sorry!" Cayleigh yelled as they stopped. "Hunter see you later okay". Hunter shared a look with Tommy then streaked back to Blue Bay. "Sorry didn't mean to wake you but Hunter and I also go for a run then we train for a bit".
"Its okay". He told her as she sat down. "Too be honest i was expecting you to be gone"
She sighed as looked at him. "Tommy we both said things we didn't mean but after thinking about it if you want me to stay i will stay someone has to keep you in line".
he laughed. "My home is your home, what are your plans after i take you to register for classes?"
She groaned loudly. "I need to head to Mariner Bay to get new shin guardss since Reefside offers soccer and the store there has the best selection"
"Okay are you planning on visiting Carter or Ryan?" He asked as they went inside.
"Carter made it clear he doesn't want to see me so i am just going to the store then coming back".
Once they both got ready for the day Cay met her brother outside. She also noticed three other people with him.
"Guys this is my sister Cayleigh, Cay this is Kira, Conner and Ethan the three rangers who bonded to the other gems" Tommy introduced.
"Hi" Cayleigh greeted. "Tommy i need your jeep".
"Where are you heading?" Ethan asked.
"Mariner Bay, i need to go to the sports store" She answered him. She noticed Tommy rubbing his head. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah just a headache". Tommy answered his sister. "Look let me drive home then you can have my car". The teens nodded.
Once they got back Cayleigh noticed her brother looked pale. They walked into the lab. Conner jumped as he saw the giant lion laying in the floor. "Guys this is Naya, don't worry she's harmless".
"Cay i think-" Tommy managed before his eyes rolled back into his head. Cayleigh streaked and caught him.
"Tommy! Tommy!" She patted his cheeks.
"Dr.O!" Conner yelled shaking him.
Ethan and Conner managed to get him up onto a bed as Kira let in Hayley.
"He seems fine, has this happened before?" Hayley asked the youngest Oliver who was sat next to him.
"No, well not since i got here". She answered as his eyes fluttered open. "Hey easy bro you face met your floor".
"Man what hit me?"
"You tell us". Conner asked crossing his arms.
"I don't know one minute i'm fine the next my head feels like its going to explode". Tommy spoke rubbing his temples. "Listen i feel fine now".
Cayleigh didn't look convinced but she let it go as he got off the bed. "Do you want me to stay i can wait to go to Mariner Bay"
"No its okay, hey i promise i'm alright". He assured her kissing her cheek.
"Okay do any of you want to go with me?" She asked.
Mariner Bay...
"I'll go" Kira spoke with a small smile. The girls hopped in the jeep and make te quick drive. Cayleigh parked outside the store. They went and sat on a bench. "So Dr.O told us about your story and how you have ninja powers"
Cayleigh glanced at the girl. "Yeah, its been a rough year but i am stronger because of it. So tell me how did you guys become rangers".
Kira sipped her shake. "We fell into a sinkhole and found 's lab, we each took a i ask you something? what was it like growing up with rangers?"
Cayleigh laughed. "Honestly Kira, it had its ups and downs, their leader Zordon taught me that all rangers are family." She looked into the distance. "I was told everyday that he thought of me as a daughter, when he was destroyed a piece of my heart went with him"
"Do you stay in contact with everyone?"
"No not really, i came here the other day to see Ryan and Carter. Ryan was thrilled, Carter not so i guess i do deserve it. I did lie to everyone and i am not the same person they knew". She explained. "I don't even know if i really want to stay, I told Tommy i would but maybe i should just go back home".
Kira crossed her legs under her. "Cayleigh i know you have been through alot but we are a ranger family to and would love to be yours if you need us".
"Thanks Kira". Both girls smiled. "Hey do you like chocolate chip waffles?"
"Yeah why?"
"Come on with me". Both girls walked down the block. Cayleigh smiled at the guy on the front porch. "Hey does a former ranger still live here or is he in an old age home?"
The guy turned around. "That depends on what you need him for?"
"We we were thinking he could make us waffles that is if he still knows how to make them?" Cayleigh joked as he approached.
"I think i remember, hey Cay" He greeted giving her a hug.
"Hey Ryan, Uh this is Kira the new yellow ranger of Reefside". Kira shook his hand.
"Okay i am moving here" Kira spoke swallowing the last of her waffles.
"Told you he is the best". Cayleigh giggled.
"Anytime girls, so what are you to doing here?" He asked putting the plates in the sink.
"I needed to get new shin guards so Kira came along with me, Kira we better head back but thanks Ryan it was great to see you".
"Anytime Cayleigh". Ryan gave her a hug as the girls left. They got outside and walked back to the parking lot where Tommy's jeep was parked.
"Cayleight?" She turned at her name. "Hey".
"Carter hey". She greeted. "We were just leaving". Kira could feel the tension between the two so she hopped in the jeep.
Carter stuffed his hands into his pockets and looked at the ground. "I was wondering if we could talk?"
As Cayleigh got into the jeep she sent him a glare. "You spoke enough the other day so there is nothing to talk about". She put the jeep in gear and pulled away leaving Carter alone.
Mesogog's Lair...
"My Lord the machine has stopped" Zeltrax informed Mesogog. "The coin is now fully charged". All of a sudden sparks appeared causing the green power coin so split in half.
"It would seem it needs two hosts". Elsa suggested as Mesogog picked up the two halves. Mesogog picked up the newly found white dino gem. One half of the coin floated into it causing it to turn half green.
"My Lord its time to bring in Tommy Oliver". Zeltrax offered.
"Not just yet Zeltrax we need to find another pure soul for the other half but i do have a score to settle with his brat of a sister, is the room ready?"
"Yes it is". Elsa told him.
"Excellent that brat will be destroyed for what she did". Mesogog promised.
Reefside...
The girls parked outside of the Cyberspace and began to walk inside. Kira noticed Cayleigh went as pale as a sheet. "Cay you okay?"
"Kira go inside i will meet you". Kira nodded and went inside.
" ?" He turned around.
"Ah young Cayleigh i heard you rose from the dead". He snarled. "You took her from me"
Cayleigh wiped her tears. "Anton it was an accident believe me if i could take it back-"
He cut her off grabbing her arms. "Oh you will pay you have my word". He growled shaking her. He turned and walked away.
"Cay! you okay?" Tommy spoke wrapping his arms around her shoulders. "What was that about with Anton?"
She turned around. "You know him?"
"Yeah i do why?"
"You didn't think i deserved to know he was alive?"
"Cayleigh what is it? why is he so angry with you? plus you failed to mention alot of things, hey i'm sorry alrght" He tried noticing the look on her face. "Let me guess Hunter knows right?"
She glared. "You know what Tommy yes Hunter knows and what does he have to do with this, see this is why i don't trust you. How long have you been having headaches Tommy huh?"
"Couple of days".
"Wow and you told me you were fine see this is why we don't trust each other right, you know what i'm done. You go have fun with your rangers". She snapped turning and walking away.
Once she got to Tommy's house she skidded to a stop. She went inside and packed whatever she had. Naya walked in. "Hey girl what have you got there?" Cayleigh asked the lion. Naya dropped the object. "Wow". She said taking the newly made dino bracelet. Cayleigh laid it on her nightstand and walked into the dino lab.
"Hayley? what are you doing here?"
"Hey Cay, i brought your morpher to you" The red head replied turning in her chair. "You know you can talk to me."
Cayleigh drew in a breath. "Hayley i don't know what to do, since i got back the only people who actually want me around is Ryan and Jason a part of me wishes i never came back at all. Tommy can't accept that Hunter and I care for each other. Hunter kept me a secret because of how ninjas are always loyal to each other. Why can't Tommy understand that?"
"Because for the first time in your life you didn't come to your big brother for help. Tommy once told me if you ever had a problem with anything you would always go to him no matter how small or big the issue was. When he found out you didn't come to him after the accident he told me you didn't need him anymore".
"I didn't know how to" Cayleigh choked out. "He was right i am a coward"
Hayley took her hand. "Cayleigh your not a coward. Its part of growing up, you are also afraid of something to aren't you?"
"Hayley i am afraid of letting him get to close to me because if Mesogog finds out about my sworn enemy and finds a way to bring him back then i am doomed".
"Morbius right?" They turned to see the older Oliver at the top of the steps. "I watched your CD."
"Then you know what you would have to do".
He marched over and cupped her face between his hands. "You listen to me right now. It will not come to it you hear me."
"You cant-"
Tommy cut her off. "No i don't want to hear it." He wrapped his arms around her shoulders resting his chin on her head while giving Hayley a look that meant he would explain later. "You aren't going anywhere".
Cayleigh hugged her brother as tight as she could. Naya nudged her with her huge paw. "Naya". The lion had the bracelet in her mouth. "I guess she is trying to tell me something".
Tommy took her wrist and placed the morpher on it. "Cayleigh i know its been rough. I know you trusted me enought to share your link to your powers with me. I am asking you to trust me enough that i will have your back with whatever Mesogog throws at us". He asked of her as the three other rangers came in.
"We believe in you". Conner told her.
"I need another girl here before i go crazy". Kira said with a smile.
"I need a fellow gamer in my life to help me". Ethan told her.
"Moya chose you to carry on her legacy, somehow you know Zordon would want you to make your own and its your time to make it". Tommy spoke from behind her.
"Okay".
"What was that?"
"I said okay old timer". Tommy twirled his sister around. The three others welcomed her to the team.
"Cayleigh" She turned to Hayley. "There is someone else waiting for you outside that wants to talk and i think you should". They turned to see Carter on the hood of his truck. "He has been there for the past half hour".
Cayleigh walked outside as the sun was setting. "Hayley said you were here". She greeted as she stood in front of him.
"Yeah can we talk?"
"Okay lets go out back". She led him to the swings on he back porch.
"I'm sorry for what i said."
She glanced at him. "Then why did you?"
"Cayleigh the day of the accident our Fire Department was the first ones on the scene since we were in the area. We we heard who was on the boat it killed me to. I don't know if it was the part i still have of being a red ranger that may me feel i let you down".
"Carter why would you think that?"
"Because the day before Tommy called to let me know you had your last game and we were on our way to surprise you i guess being a firefighter and knowing timing is everything that if i was there i would have been there to save you".
"Carter" She whispered. She went and sat on his lap. "Carter don't do this to yourself everythng that happened to me in the past, yes i may look different but i'm still me. I never blamed anyone for me having to run away and hide, there was nothing anyone could do at the time to help me". She assured him.
"is there anything i can do to make it up to you?"
She laughed. "Typical red ranger, you could bring us to Mariner Bay and win us a price each since the carnival is back?"
"Sure"
. She ran inside. "Who wants to hang out in Mariner Bay with a couple of old rangers?"
"Sure". Kira agreed.
"Man i wish i could but i have a huge english test to study for". Ethan said sadly.
"Conner? Tommy?"
"Man i can't i have an essay due tomorrow". Conner groaned. "Blame your brother for that".
"No you kids have fun". Tommy told them. "If you want and it gets too late you either call for me to pick you up or you stay the night understand?"
The two girls saluted Tommy and ran out of the lab. Conner and Ethan along with Hayley left the lab.
Okay i am breaking this chapter into two parts because i want to show them bonding but i also was the action for this part of the story to start...so next chapter picks up where this one ends.
