I DO NOT OWN COBRA KAI OR BREAKING BAD. SHOUT OUT TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE LEFT REVIEWS ON THIS STORY.

Pinkman house. Encino, California. Later that evening.

After Jesse left Aisha's house, he had gone home only to shit, shower, and shave. His parents didn't ask where he had been or where he was going. They had taken Jake out to buy a new piccolo for his new middle school band class. Jesse had been left on his own for dinner; which was quite the common occurrence if he was being honest. Mr. and Mrs. Pinkman took every chance to leave their eldest boy to fend for himself so that they could spend time alone with the son that they actually wanted and forget about the other son that they had.

After he had showered and put on a change of clothes that included a Star Wars tie, t shirt combo, Jesse made his way into the kitchen, he found a can of tomato soup with a sticky note from his mother on it. For You, the sticky note read. Jesse could hear the tone of indifference in Diane Pinkman's inner voice as she wrote the sticky note. It didn't seem like she was encouraging him to have dinner without them. Her words made that can of tomato soup seem like the after thought it almost certainly was. In a moment of anger, Jesse picked up the can and threw it through the kitchen window; leaving a soup can sized hole in said window.

"That's for you...bitch!" Jesse exclaimed furiously as he went over to his parent's wine rack and found a bottle of Riesling white wine. Jesse figured that it would be rude to show up at the LaRusso's place without some kind of party favor; plus he was already going to be in trouble for breaking the kitchen window. so he really didn't have a whole lot to lose by swiping a bottle of wine.

"Time to meet the parents." Jesse said to himself as he grabbed his phone and wallet before leaving the empty house worse than when he'd found it.

LaRusso House. Encino, California. Later that evening.

Jesse stopped his bike on the LaRusso's driveway and put the stand up as he grabbed the wine out of the bike basket and walked up to the front door. If Jesse was being totally honest, he was more than a little nervous about meeting Sam's parents again. He kept trying to remind himself that he and Sam were just friends, so it wasn't really that big of a deal; but it was still nerve wracking. Dudes like him were the reason that fathers of teenage girls invested in shotguns and he knew it. However, he was already here, a date had been made and he didn't want to piss Samantha off by being a no show.

"Nothing to it..but to do it...bitch." Jesse said psyching himself up as he rang the door bell. Eventually, the door opened to reveal Sam wearing what looked like a fancy blouse.

"Jesse, you made it." She said happily as she embraced her friend.

"Yeah, I brought something for your folks." He replied as he held up the stolen wine.

"Cool, i'm sure that they'll love it." Sam assured him as Jesse took off his shoes and followed her into the kitchen. They found Amanda LaRusso in the kitchen, preparing the table. She looked up and smiled at the kids as they came in.

"Jesse, it's so good to see you again." Mrs. LaRusso said with a smile on her face as Jesse presented his tribute.

"I hope you like white wine." He offered as Amanda's eyes lit up.

"I'm sure it'll be delicious, there's never a bad time for wine." She insisted with a smirk as her husband came in with the evening meal.

"Hello Jesse, back again so soon? Daniel teased as he set the food down and went to shake Jesse's hand.

"Well, your daughter is hard to say no to." Jesse replied as Sam rolled her eyes.

"Fair point, I hope you're hungry." Daniel said as everyone sat down while Daniel set out a cutting board stacked with what appeared to be raw fish.

"The yanagi, or yanagi ba, depending on the region, is a knife used exclusively for cutting sashimi." Mr. LaRusso explained as Jesse watched him eager eyes.

"Yo, you've actually been to Japan?" He inquired, as he's always been a bit of a Japanophile. The entire culture had always struck young Jesse as bad ass.

"You better believe it. I picked up this bad boy on my first trip to Okinawa." Daniel insisted as he put a handful of sashimi on a plate for Jesse before drizzling it in soy sauce.

"Do you like Japan stuff?" Sam inquired.

"Yeah, Japan is epic, yo." Jesse replied.

"Voila, the famous LaRusso ponzu toro." Daniel said as Amanda gave him a little clap while he handed it to Jesse. Jesse took his fork, stabbed a bit of the ponzu toro and and stuck it in his mouth. He was immediately hit by the flavor.

"Damn...this Ponzu stuff is the bomb!" He insisted with a grin. "It like, melts in your mouth."

"I got the fish fresh from the Japanese market downtown." Daniel replied as the entire family started eating.

"So, were your parents ok with you ditching dinner to eat with us?" Amanda inquired as Jesse's smile fell.

"They wouldn't really care if I was here or getting drunk at a bar." Jesse admitted glumly as the LaRusso's were stunned.

"I'm sure that isn't true, they seemed like such loving parents." Amanda replied as Jesse rolled his eyes.

"They are, to my brother. But they don't give a damn about me. I'm just an embarrassment to them and they'd be happy if I disappeared." Jesse insisted as Mrs. LaRusso squeezed his hand in support.

"I'm sorry that you're dealing with this Jesse...but I'm sure that they'll eventually realIe that you're not a disappointment. You seem like a decent young man to me." Daniel assured the boy.

"Yeah, it doesn't matter what they say, as long as you know who you are." Sam replied. It was good advice, but the truth was that Jesse didn't know who he was.
