"I think I found the answer" Garfield had barged into the conference room, Kara limping in after him Batgirl and Conroy immediately helped Kara to a seat.
"I know why you can't find them" Garfield repeated,
"Ok, why?" Robin asked,
"We shouldn't be looking at Tetch for his pattern, but Lawton" Garfield's statement was met with silence,
"What?" Perez asked "If Tetch is working with Lawton, Lawton won't allow him to follow his pattern completely, he's too tactically minded to let Tetch give away his location like that" He zoomed the map out before circling an area on it "This is where we should be looking"
"Found it" Batgirl pulled up a picture of an old storefront "Cheshire Tea and China, a small business that closed down seven years ago, it's in old metro and has two separate living areas over it, it's 40 minutes from where he took Alice"
"Let's go" Kara stood, wincing in pain with the quick movement,
"No way, that's a bad idea, you're hurt," Batgirl said placing her hand on Kara's shoulder,
"So are you, besides we all know if anything happens with Alice I have the best chance of stopping her" Batgirl considered this for a minute before nodding,
"Ok, but let's be careful, ok?" She said "Ok" With that they were off.
The door cracked open as Jarvis Tetch stepped in, Rachel Was still in the chair where he had left her, but as he stepped closer to her he noticed that she was shaking, her eyes rolled back in her head.
"Alice, Alice, are you ok?" He grew worried when he got no response, Her lips began moving slightly,
"I am Rachel Roth" She repeated her voice barely a whisper,
"What does that mean Alice?" Tetch reached up toward Rachel's forehead finding it cold to the touch, he had never felt a living human being this cold. That's when it happened, the black tendril reached out and grabbed him by the throat holding the tall man a couple of inches from the ground, the chair burst sending wooden splinters flying everywhere. The ceiling collapsed over Tetch, Batgirl pulled Tetch from the tendril's grasp slamming him to the floor,
"Alice" Kara followed Batgirl, Rachel was slowly floating backward away from them, as the tendril's seemed to be growing into a darkness that surrounded her.
"No, Alice!" Batgirl darted toward Rachel, Kara threw her arm out catching her,
"No! you take care of Tetch" Kara lightly pushed Batgirl back before slowly approaching Rachel, "Alice" She called out.
"I'm not Alice" Rachel's scream was shrill, causing even her to cover her ears "Ok, ok, that's fine, what should I call you?" Kara continued approaching slowly,
"My name is Rachel Roth" She repeated the words again, she had stopped moving backward and seemed to just be floating within the darkness that consumed the two of them.
"Ok, Rachel It's me, Kara" Rachel lifted her head to face Kara, her eyes completely white,
"No, Kara you need to leave, I can't control it" Tears streamed down her cheeks,
"Rachel, it's ok" Kara began before Rachel interrupted,
"No, it's not I don't want to hurt any of you" Kara had now reached Rachel "Rachel, we want to help you" Kara pulled Rachel into her arms, and slowly the darkness began clearing from around them until they found themselves back in the old room. Rachel's eyes were light blue again, and the lights began to burn them causing her to cry out in pain, Kara pulled Rachel's face to her chest,
"It's ok, let's get you some help" Kara turned to Batgirl "I'm taking her back to the tower" Batgirl nodded. Kara took off holding Rachel tightly against her to block the sun from burning her eyes.
