King was asleep for an unknown amount of time and once he awakened. He got up and he saw he was on Salty's ship but the ship wasn't in the water. It appeared to be in a strange world that looked like realm both Luz and Maxwell were in when they tried to return to the human realm to talk to Camila, Luz's mother.
As King stood up on his own two feet. He looked out into the distance and saw some floating blocks in the air that had a light glowing or flashing around in them. There were some strange rock formations nearby in the water and a deep dark hole that reminded him of a tunnel, he saw it from a distance and he felt a little nervous about what he was seeing.
What made it worse was that he heard a crazed, child's laughter which only made him a little more afraid like a child whose afraid of the dark.
"Almost free, almost free!" said the child's voice that sounded giddy yet ominously terrifying from the sounds of it.
King tried to walk forwards down a nearby flight of stairs but he was floating down them like he was a ghost but he started to grab hold of part of the ship as he began to call out to people.
"Luz? Hooty? Maxie? Is someone there?" King called out.
King looked up and saw up above that there was a strange glowing orb with some objects floating around it like the sun and moon orbiting earth as he heard the eerie cackling from the distance.
"I won't be alone, I won't be alone anymore!" cackled the child like voice as it was starting to scare King. "That Daston Logan is already dead and wait till his hybrid child finds out."
"Hello, hello?" called King starting to feel afraid.
That's when King saw the silhouette of a shadow on the floating orb that looked like the child who spoke and laughed.
"Who said that? Who's there?" came the child's voice. "Did you hear me? Even when I said Daston is dead and Belos killed him?"
Hearing this left King a little shocked. Daston Logan, Maxwell's biological father, dead, and killed by Emperor Belos? King knew this was something conflicting and knew breaking the news Maxwell would probably earn mixed reactions from him. King was suddenly feeling like something was pulling him back to reality and he heard the child's voice call out to him, requesting him not to leave but then King woke up.
King was back on Salty's ship but he was back in the demon realm and it appeared they returned to the Boiling Isles. King saw that Luz, Hooty and Maxwell were knelt down near him.
"Hey, sleepyhead. We're back in Bonesborough." said Luz being her sweet self.
King got up and with a bewildered look on his face. He went to the edge of the ship and saw that Luz was right. They've returned to the town of Bonesborough. King looked out into the distance of Bonesborough with dread as if he believed his dream could've been a vision or could've been The Collector contacting him through his mind. He also knew that finding out that Emperor Belos murdered Daston was something he needed to inform Maxwell about but was going to be hard to do. He turned around to Luz, Hooty and Maxwell.
"Hey guys, did anything happen while I was asleep?" asked King curiously.
"Maxie had a vision." answered Luz.
"What did he see?" asked King.
There was a dead silence met immediately as Maxwell's face shown to be stoic yet a hint of regret as if he knew something bad was going to happen but was having mixed feelings about it.
"Is it about Daston?" asked King curiously.
Maxwell didn't answer as he got up on his feet and stood while King and Luz got up on their feet to stand as well.
"Let's go find Eda and Lilith." said Maxwell avoiding the topic.
They walked towards the steps that led them onto the docks of the port. Luz, King, and Maxwell waved goodbye to Salty who waved back. Salty had at least seven of Maxwell's shadow copies with him as Maxwell figured he could use some extra hands with anything else as well as when the Day of Unity comes and they try to put a stop to it or in case something worse would happen. Maxwell even advised Salty to find a good place to hide in case anything worse was to come.
Luz was pulling out the little yellow device from her right jacket pocket and saw that Amity left her some text messages while they were away. Hooty loomed over Luz's shoulder as he was seeing what texts Amity sent Luz.
"Hmmm. "Mom took Pensta, but we're safe. We'll contact." Aww, she sent so many hearts! Hope she's doing okay." said Luz with a look of low spirits at first.
"I'm reading more minds out there and Odalia is going crazier than usual. If we encounter Odalia and she hurts her kids or if she tries to hurt you again." Maxwell said while uttering a realistic yet angered lion like growl. "Then she better pray for mercy."
"You're going to keep her in the stockade and leave her like that till we stop Belos and the Day of Unity, are you?" guessed Hooty.
"Only if I have no other choice." answered Maxwell.
"Is that Amity? It's okay if you wanna check on her. I can get to the Owl House on my own." said King.
They stopped and Luz, Hooty and Maxwell turned to look at King as if knowing that him making it to The Owl House on his own was a bad idea what with them now knowing that he's the son of the Titan, son of the Boiling Isles.
They all started to have flashbacks about how they were preparing for their journey to Titan Trapper Island, what Bill had told them about Emperor Belos being evil and warning them about a Titan being worse, flashbacks of revealing to King about how he's not one of the Titan Trappers as the Titan Trappers were only going to use him to summon The Collector as the Titan Trappers were nothing more than a cult, even the flashbacks of revealing to King he's a Titan, son of the Boiling Isles the greatly shocked him and them.
"King, you're not going anywhere alone." said Maxwell looking off somewhere into the distance. "Guys, we have a problem."
Maxwell pointed in the direction they were walking towards and they saw five wanted posters posted on a bulletin board wall and the wanted posters were of Eda, Lilith, Luz, King, Hooty and Maxwell. The reward money on each one was very big but on Maxwell's wanted poster. It read at the bottom "wanted dead or alive" which of course this meant that Emperor Belos and his goons were enforcing their grip of corrupt power, control and hold onto the Boiling Isles with a tighter grip.
"Wanted posters. Damn it, Belos." Maxwell said annoyed under his breath. "We're going to have to disguise ourselves."
Maxwell muttered under his breath "Metamorfóno" and he traced his finger over King's head and under his chin, with Luz's permission, Maxwell traced a finger around Luz face, along Hooty's body and on top of his head, under his own chin and across his face.
That's when they all started to have their disguises transform their appearances a bit. Hooty's appearance transformed to make him look more like a green anaconda snake with the slits for eyes, green scales the looked like snakeskin.
King looked as though he grew a full head of thick and curly dark hair that made him look like the hair reached his shoulders, a long and thick beard formed on his face with a thick mustache to match.
Luz's ears transformed to become pointy like a normal witch, her eyes brown eyes turned to a piercing red with her face looking like it aged up to about twenty years and a scar formed on the bridge of her nose and down to her left cheek while her hair grew to be shoulder length, becoming a shade of pink and very curly looking.
Maxwell started to transform as his face formed to look like he aged fifty years older with the wrinkles to show for it, his hair turned grey while growing a long, thick and bushy beard with a thick mustache, his ears morphed to become pointy like a witch and his eyes become more of an amber color.
"If anyone asks. Luz, King and Hooty are my grown-up children and I'm your father whose grown old." advised Maxwell speaking in a deep and raspy voice with a Scottish accent.
"Understood." said Hooty speaking in an eerie voice while hissing on his "Ss" as he spoke.
"Got it." said Luz as her voice spoke with an Irish accent.
"Okay. Great disguises though." said King as he spoke in an African American male's voice. "Hey, I can talk street like a rapper. What up my homeboy. Wha-a-a-at?!"
King looked up at Luz and Maxwell who had a surprised expression on their faces as if they never heard King talk like that before.
"That was racist. Wasn't it?" guessed King.
"A little loud but stereotypical but African Americans aren't like that. We're in disguise but let's not go overboard with it. And stick together." Maxwell advised.
"I'll avoid the rappin. It's not my style anyway." King reassured.
"Let's take the long way home." advised Luz.
They walked towards a path that led from the streets to the countryside and all the way to the forest area that wasn't far away from The Owl House.
"Okay, with my voice in disguise. I gotta get this out of my system." said King as he began to do a little dance and was doing some hip hop singing.
"Hey mama, this dat beat that make you groove, mama. Get on the floor and move your booty, mama. We the party hardy crew dat you view. Bring the party, brotha-a-a-a-a! I got a 1990s style and a 1990s crew but everything I do, I do just for you. I'm a little bit of old, and a little bit of new. The true people know that the Bs come through. We never cease, we never die, no we never deceased. We multiply like we mathematise and then drop bombs 'cuz we shake it to beat. The party hardies. Let's get starty Marty"
King stopped once he looked at a bewildered Maxwell who he remembered wasn't a fan of hip hop or rap music but it wasn't because of prejudice reasons, no, it was because he found some of the rap and hip-hop music to often be inappropriate for children.
"Got that out of your system?" said Maxwell rhetorically and hopefully.
"I do now." said King with a laugh.
As they walked onwards. They stopped once they heard coven scouts nearby. Maxwell held onto Luz's hand and King held onto Luz as Maxwell muttered something under his breath which made the three of them become invisible. They saw a large carriage being steered by two coven scouts that had two large ratworms pulling them along like a horse drawn carriage. There was a lot of boxes in the carriage which Maxwell was delving into the coven scout's minds and he just found out what happened.
"Without that bird-tube, this place was wide open!" said one coven scout drinking from a giant jug of Apple Blood.
"I still haven't recovered from that tea party." said the other coven scout shuddering from the memory. "Can't believe they used the sleepers smoke mist potion brew before we could do anything."
"Better that than the hybrid going full power and beating our asses." the other coven scout pointed out.
After the coven scouts passed them by. Luz, King, Hooty and Maxwell reappeared and were no longer invisible. They had worried expressions and made their way over to the Owl House by a run. The building structure of the Owl House looked like a hurricane hit the place as parts of the walls had cracks in them, the big, large window that led into Eda's room was cracked with a few small holes in them. Any door they saw had scratches on them with a hole in the door that led to the shed.
Once they got inside the Owl House. That's when they were met with something they never thought they'd ever see. The place appeared deserted, ransacked, everything inside was confiscated and Eda and Lilith are nowhere to be seen. The Owl House looked like an abandoned house that was left empty for a year or more, wads of paper and pieces of wood were scattered around the floor in various places. Maxwell was now furious for a brief moment.
"Ransacked, looted, confiscated, stolen, emptied out. Just like mineworkers during the Georgia gold rush back in 1829 close to Dahlonega. They did this to my wife's house. Belos and his loyal followers have no respect for women and their property let alone anyone's home, property and land." said Maxwell sharply.
"Do you think they were arrested?" asked a worried King.
"No, my vision I had back at that fool's errand of an island shown me that they got out. They escaped with some of my shadow copies while the coven scouts were knocked out with the sleepers smoke mist potion brew. As to where they ran off to. I didn't see where to." Maxwell said giving some light reassurance.
Maxwell turned to see a sheet of paper on the floor nearby while Luz saw it too. From a distance, they could see the words "Help!" and "Pain!" in red lettering.
"Papel!" Maxwell said pointing to the sheet of paper.
Luz walked over and picked up the paper and she pulled out a light glyph that she activated by tapping her left index finger on it and as the ball of light was glowing and floating up. They saw that the word "Knee!" was in red lettering but the ball of light shown them a drawing of a leg on it with a red arrow pointing at the knee with a red circle on the knee and the word "Knee!" was seen in red lettering.
"Ellos estan a la rodilla del Titan!" said Maxwell looking as though a ray of hope was shining down on him.
"Translation? I don't know many Spanish words or phrases at this moment." said King.
"They're hiding out on the Knee!" Luz translated.
"We can make it on foot?" Hooty suggested.
"I got a faster idea on how to get there." said Maxwell with a grin.
At The Knee
Eda, Lilith, Owlbert and Lilith's white raven palisman, Michael, were hiding out in a cave at the Knee of the Titan which the two female adult witches were wearing winter clothing. They had various wooden boxes with them that had whatever belongings from the Owl House they could carry with them which they probably could've carried off everything else but they probably only could carry what they've got until the time the coven scouts made it to the Owl House.
They had various weapons on them from Eda's armory, they had a huge couch in there with them with Eda laying down on it as she was eating Hex Mix as there was various empty bags of Hex Mix littered on the cave floor. The only way of illuminating the cave was various balls of light floating in the air and a campfire at the center of the cave room they're in which the campfire was made from fire bees. There was even a lamp hanging from a rope above them.
"Using my old keys, we'll travel through the service tunnels. From there, we initiate the security system and everyone including Belos will be trapped inside the castle. Boom! Day of Unity stopped!" said Lilith looking as though she had a plan to stop the Day of Unity.
Eda sat up on the couch and was looking at Lilith with skepticism.
"You don't think they changed the locks after you got booted from the Coven?" said Eda looking for leftover crumbs of Hex Mix in the small bag she had. "If only the kids were here right now. I sense that little quest to that island they went to was a dead end. I know that Luz could use a hug, same with King, I know Hooty would love to give you a bear hug while I know my man would love to cuddle up with me at night if you know what I mean."
"One, you're right about the kids, two, get your mind out of the gutter, what you and Maxie do when you have a romantic time in the bed is something I'd rather not hear you talk about because it makes me feel like I'm invading someone's privacy. And three, well, at least I'm coming up with ideas." argued Lilith. "Also, take that bag off your head, I'm trying not laugh."
"Hey! I come up with some great ideas!" said Eda pulling the empty bag of Hex Mix off her head.
"Putting snorse glue in the Emperor's shampoo bottle isn't going to save anyone's life!" argued Lilith kicking a bag of Hex Mix nearby. "This is just like you. You never take things seriously! Unless Maxie's gentleman nature and influence keeps everything in check. At least Luz, King, Hooty and Maxie are far away from here. Not going to lie. I feel like I need to hug them too. This must be what it's like to have the maternal instincts."
"Wait a minute!" came a male's voice.
They heard a male's voice and what sounded like a rope snapping as if someone cut a rope and a swift snapping sound of some sort which alerted both Eda, Lilith, Owlbert and Michael to the sound.
"Someone's tripped the booby trap." said Eda looking alert.
Eda and Lilith ran towards the cave entrance and that's when they saw that Luz, King, Hooty and Maxwell were the ones that set off the booby trap as they were caught in a net. Their disguises disappeared off them and they were back to their original appearances. The four of them were wearing their winter clothing.
"Hey Lulu!" said Hooty.
"Hiiiiii." said Luz with a chuckle.
"Eda, Lilith, we got your hidden message. Brilliant idea." said Maxwell.
"You guys alright? Sorry about the booby trap." said Eda and Lilith in unison.
"Oh just hanging around." the kids said in unison.
Eda and Lilith came over to them and pulled out a small knife to cut the rope of the net and carefully pulled out Luz, King, Hooty and Maxwell from the net as they walked back into the cave where the fire bee pit was in. Maxwell used a magic spell to have the net trap repair itself and get reset.
Luz and Maxwell explained everything to Eda, Lilith, Owlbert and Michael everything about what happened at Titan Trapper Island and everything from how they escaped from the island as they found out that Eda and Lilith were right about Titan Trapper Island being a dead end but finding out what happened when they were at the island was making Eda and Lilith not only surprised by the events that transpired on the island but were also glad they were alright.
"It took a while to figure out which town you're in from your map. I had to keep off the streets with all those wanted posters, but that's when we saw your Hex Mix trail and well, you know the rest!" said Luz.
"What map are you talking about?" asked Eda.
"The one you left us, obviously." said Luz as she pulled the sheet of paper from the jacket pocket.
"A brilliant idea to leave that for us." said Maxwell.
"Oh!" said Eda with a surprised wide-eyed expression as she stared directly at Lilith looking annoyed while she bared her right hand at Lilith with her gold nails baring at her like claws. "The one we left them!"
"Well, someone had to bury our bones!" said Lilith annoyed. "So the people on that island thought Maxie was a God?"
"Yes, even after I kept telling them that I'm no God. Just a human witch hybrid." Maxwell said.
Hooty extended his body to get closer to Lilith as the annoyed expression on Lilith's face disappeared and was replaced with a smile.
"Lulu! I got you a shirt!" said Hooty.
Hooty coughed up and an orange shirt came vomiting out of his mouth and into Lilith's lap. She pulled it up and on the front of the shirt was looking like it had a picture of King with red lensed sunglasses with the words "I was Sacrificed to the Grand Huntsman!" which this surprised them both.
"I was Sacrificed to the Grand Huntsman?" said Lilith looking confused.
"Someone start explaining." said Eda turning her attention towards the kids.
"So... turns out King's letter was sent by a bunch of Titan Trappers. And they may have tried to sacrifice King to the Collector, who they worship." said Luz looking nervous.
"These Titan Trappers were nothing but a cult who worshipped a false deity. Their cult leader was just as crazy as Jim Jones." Maxwell said truthfully. "You two were right. The quest to that island was a dead end. We made sure they didn't harm King or any one of us. But King managed to destroy a teleporter to prevent them from following us. Sorry Eda."
"Oh, so you found of a commune of bloodthirsty fanatics in a place that was supposed to be empty!" said Eda glaring at Lilith. "Sending a sweet little girl, a sweet little boy, our companion Hooty as well as my man to what might as well be Death Trap Island! Why not send them to that island full of dinosaurs like that old movie from the nineties. I saw that film growing up and bringing dinosaurs back from extinction through the process of cloning them was disastrous to humanity."
"You saw that film too, huh? Well, they couldn't have been that scary without any titans to trap!" said Lilith looking guilty.
"Actually..." said Luz nervously as she looked down at King.
King had a depressed look as if he knew they had to eventually tell Eda and Lilith about him being a Titan let alone the last Titan. King nodded and gave a response. Maxwell looked at Eda with the same expression King had while he would place a hand over King's back.
"King... is a titan." said Luz placing a hand over King's back.
"Looks like I'm... due for a growth spurt soon... heh, heh." said King with a nervous laugh.
"Those Titan Trappers tried to sacrifice King to their false God that is The Collector that I told you about. They have no idea that The Collector is probably going to do something far worse than Belos is planning to do to all life in the demon realm." Maxwell added. "The Collector is probably going to do a lot worse than Belos."
"One other thing I left out. When I was napping hours ago. I had a nightmare that I think wasn't a nightmare but more of a telepathic encounter with The Collector in a different realm for some reason. But The Collector said something about Belos killing Daston." King said as he blurted out something else that wasn't expected.
Eda and Lilith gasped and looked wide eyed with shock. They had no idea which was more shocking. The fact that King is a Titan or that Daston has been murdered by Emperor Belos. But even when Luz, Hooty, Eda and Lilith looked at King for a shocking moment, they all looked at Maxwell while Maxwell looked at King with slight surprise as if not expecting King to know about Daston's death was caused by Emperor Belos murdering him. They didn't know if Maxwell was supposed to be relieved or saddened about Emperor Belos murdering Daston or if he was supposed to feel anything at all.
"Guess you know what my vision was. Daston found out the truth about Belos and to silence him. Belos...he..." Maxwell said stopping at mid-sentence.
After some time explaining things. Maxwell explained to everyone that Daston Logan is dead judging by what he saw in his psychic vision from before and that Emperor Belos murdered him as he told them he saw it in a psychic vision. But he also explained to them about what they found out when they learned that King is a Titan and probably the last one. This left everyone in shock about the news of Daston's death as they were having mixed feelings about it.
King made a snow bunny outside with a saddened expression on his face. He placed an orange scarf around the snow bunny's neck as the snow bunny resembled his stuff bunny, Francois. He turned to look out into the distance while Hooty could sense his sadness as he wrapped his body around King to hug him. Maxwell was standing next to them as he was having mixed feelings about Daston being dead.
Everyone knew that Daston Logan was the reason why Maxwell and his mother went through a lot of abuse and suffering in their lives. Daston was the reason why Maxwell has been through a hard life in the beginning and he felt like he truly hated Daston and knew that a battle to the death with him was inevitable but now knowing that Emperor Belos killed him has left him feeling as though he didn't know if he should feel relieved or saddened or both. He felt as though he was feeling sadness for Daston for the first time in his life when he really hated him for so long.
Eda, Luz and Lilith looked out at King, Hooty and Maxwell as they knew that both King and Maxwell were going through something that was probably their toughest time they ever seen them go through. King now knows he's the last Titan and everything that he went through on Titan Trapper Island has now left him feeling saddened about the truth he's learned while Maxwell was seeing that now both his mother and his biological father are dead. He lost his mother when he was six due to a terminal illness and now lost his father at age fourteen from Emperor Belos murdering him when he felt like that Dell Clawthorne is his true father figure. The ladies could tell that the two were having a lot on their plates right now.
"I can't believe that little guy is gonna turn into that big guy." said Eda looking surprised. "And Daston is...dead? Belos killed him when he learned the truth about Belos's plans. You would think that this would be a relief for Maxie or anyone but something tells me this isn't a relief for anyone, especially for my Maxie."
"Certainly explains King's strange new powers. He's just dealing with so much. And Daston is the reason why Maxie went through all that suffering and abuse and now Daston is deceased, murdered by Belos. You would think that with Daston out of the picture, that would be one less threat for us to deal with, especially for Maxie but something tells me Maxie is not sure what to feel about Daston being dead now. I wish there was a way we could give them some comfort." said Luz pointing out some details.
"I can't believe this! All this time you've had a titan under your roof!" said Lilith looking thrilled with a gasp. "I've eaten ice cream with a god!"
"Just because he has tall genes doesn't mean he's a god. Even Maxie knows that may be considered worshipping a false idol." said Luz in disagreement.
"And the little furrball falls into the toilet like once a day." Eda pointed out.
"Perhaps he's still too young. His powers haven't... awakened yet. But who knows how he can help us against Belos like Maxie will. Think of it. A Titan and a human witch hybrid taking on Belos together." said Lilith as she gushed about not knowing that King was a Titan the whole time.
Luz had a worried look on her face but Eda reassured Luz as she placed a hand over Luz's left shoulder.
"Don't worry Luz, we're not putting them in danger." said Eda as she was scowling Lilith. "King's a Clawthorne and technically your nephew, remember, dear sister? We're especially not putting my husband in danger ether because he's also your brother-in-law and you're his sister-in-law."
"Right, of course." said Lilith as she walked off a few feet away. "I'm a god's aunt as well as a powerful hybrid's aunt! But is he a gentle god or an angry god?"
"We're not Gods." came Maxwell's voice.
The ladies turned to see that Maxwell had walked over to them and stood in front of them. They saw he had a stoic expression upon his face at the time being but there was a hint of sadness.
"Were you eavesdropping?" said Eda with a smile and raised eyebrow.
"I apologize. My sense of hearing is what's slightly burning. I apologize for eavesdropping, ma'am." said Maxwell as his tone was barely showing any emotion in it. "Titans are not gods and neither am I. We all know King is a gentle, loving person. Just the last of his species. There's only one God and he's high up in the sky."
"Maxie, are you feeling alright after finding out about...you know?" asked Luz a bit hesitantly.
Maxwell was silent and didn't give an answer as if he didn't want to talk about what he was feeling when it came to learning that Daston is dead and that Emperor Belos was responsible. They could tell that's why he's being less verbal about it or less verbal about anything at the moment.
"Maxie, did you ever have to use the gun-blade?" asked Lilith curiously.
Maxwell looked at his gun-blade and traced his hand over the grip of his weapon and looked back at Lilith.
"Let not your heart be troubled. In my father's house there are many mansions. If it were not so. I would've told you. I go prepare a place for you. Amen." answered Maxwell as Eda and Lilith knew this meant that Maxwell did indeed use his gun-blade. "I had no other choice. No matter how much I didn't want to."
"With how much you've changed since we've all met you. You're still a man of God, right?" asked a surprised Lilith.
"Still a man of God...even with weapons." answered Maxwell.
Eda, Luz and Lilith felt like it was a reassuring sign that Maxwell was still a Christian yet Lilith felt like she needed to think things over as if to come up with a plan or ideas on how to stop the Day of Unity.
"Maxie, I'll need some time to think for a bit. So if you'll excuse me." said Lilith as she walked off into the cave while muttering something to herself.
"So? Fill us in! How are we gonna defeat Belos and his draining spell?" said Luz looking eager while appearing to see that Eda may have a plan in mind. "What about you, Maxie. Anything?"
Maxwell hiccupped a few times but nearly started blushing as if out of nervousness.
"Things are complicated." said Maxwell. "I'll be honest. I don't think I have an idea or any plan but maybe one will come to mind when the time comes."
Eda looked at Luz with nervousness as she saw that telling Luz the truth would most likely hurt her or crush her or worse. Luz had that sparkling eagerness in her eyes while Maxwell was looking nervous himself as he knew that delving into Eda's mind was one of the big things he's forbidden himself to do out of respect for Eda and women.
"Uh, right. Well... it's a secret!" lied Eda in a whisper while pressing a finger to her big and full lips.
Upon hearing this, Luz gave a pout while Maxwell placed an arm around Luz to reassure her. It had very little affect.
"Just for now. I'll fill you in closer to go time!" lied Eda again while showing a nervous look and grin.
"Ah, so if we're captured we can't give anything away! Smart thinkin', Owl Lady!" said Luz with a grin.
Maxwell could sense that it's possible there was something Eda wasn't telling them. He didn't delve into her mind but he was reading her body language and the facial expressions on her perfectly flawless face. They suddenly heard King speak as they turned to see he was done building the snow bunny that resembled his stuff bunny plush Francois which he tried to shake hands with the snow bunny only for the arm to slip off and fall to the snow-covered ground, leaving King to feel and look dejected.
"Aw, King, let me help with that." said Luz walking over to King.
"Soy voluntaria!" said Maxwell following after.
While the two were out of earshot. Lilith came back to Eda's side and was whispering to her.
"What are you doing?! Tell them!" said Lilith in a whisper.
Eda turned to Lilith with an exasperated face.
"Tell them what? That we have no plan? That Belos is gonna win? That the Boiling Isles are doomed?" said Eda looking as though she was not wanting to do that.
After a silent moment. Lilith turned and had a guilty look as if she knew that Eda was right.
"The kids deserve one nice day before they realize how dire things are. I know I've lied about a lot of things in my life but I'm already hating myself for lying to Luz, King, Hooty, especially my man since he doesn't like lying to me or any woman for that matter." said Eda as the two sisters looked at kids.
Luz used a glyph from a sheet of paper that she used to make an arm made of ice form on the snow body of the snow bunny that King built. This left a smile on Luz, King, Hooty and Maxwell's faces. Maxwell would beautifully be singing "Winter Wonderland" as his singing started to make the snow float up in the air as the snowflakes would form up into the wind to look like the wind made the snow form into people who were dancing together.
Eda looked on with a depressed expression as she hated lying to them and knew that the truth would hurt them inside as if she couldn't bring herself to do it.
"And King deserves our praise!" shouted Lilith.
Eda shown a glare at Lilith who immediately restrained herself.
"I need to keep my mouth shut about what we just talked about, don't I?" guessed Lilith rhetorically.
"I'm not saying anything and neither are you. If anyone is to tell them this when the time comes. It's better if I do it. That's not your responsibility to bear." said Eda walking over towards the kids. "Alright, kids! The uh... plan isn't gonna be ready till tomorrow, but if you could do anything if you could do anything in the world today, what would it be?"
With King looking dejected. He knew that what he wanted to do wasn't going to be possible.
"Thanks, Eda, but I just want things to be normal right now." said a saddened King.
"Knowing that Daston is...because Belos..." Maxwell kept stopping at mid-sentence as if trying not to think of the complicated feelings he's going through from what he recently found out. "I'd rather be spending the day with those I love."
Maxwell approached Eda and hugged her as if looking for comfort which Eda wrapped her arms around him and hugged him back. Luz on the other hand had a sympathetic expression at first towards King but than an idea popped into her head that she knew would be something to do for King. A devious grin spread across her face.
"Well, I wanna go on a heist!" said Luz with a devious grin.
"Of course you do." said Eda with a grin. "Before we do anything else. Hey Maxie."
Maxwell looked up at Eda and when he did. He was met with a kiss to his lips by Eda's big, soft, full lips which left his heart and mind to race faster than he could run on his own two feet. He closed his eyes and kissed Eda back. The two of them had a romantic kiss together which did leave Luz, King and Hooty to look on in giggling grins. Eda kissing him made Maxwell feel like her affections was working in helping him feel better.
"Maybe we should give them ten, twenty, thirty minutes." joked King.
"Oh King." chuckled Luz.
After some time of planning, both Eda, Luz and Maxwell knew that if they were to be going on a heist. They knew there was one place they had to go to which of course Luz and Maxwell knew where to go. King decided to stay with Lilith for the time being as he felt like he needed some time to calm himself.
"God almighty keep us safe." Maxwell prayed under his breath.
