One month later
Alice pov
I rushed to the airport to pick up Sophia. She's very sweet. Edward did finally leave but I feel like Bella needs some bonding with her sister. She's so young she probably won't notice how pale she's gotten, or how cold she is, I mean she may not even notice her different eye color.
"Hey, Sofia how are you" I asked as I put her into her car seat.
"I'm good" responded.
We drive home and Bella was sitting outside. As she got out she ran to her. It's the sweetest thing I've seen in a long time
Bella pov
Did Alice really bring my sister to me? I can't believe it but it kinda saddens me that in a few years, we can't have this relationship because she'll probably start to notice.
She ran up to me and hugged me
"Sissy I missed you"
"I missed you too sweetheart"
She was the sunshine in my life. Of course, Alice finds a camera with no plan of putting it down. Soon enough it was time to tuck her in for bed.
"She's so cute" Alice said behind me
" It's too bad this won't last. Eventually, I'll have to drift out of her life because she'll get suspicious"
"I know but at least you can make memories before then"
"I know"
The next morning
After dressing Sofia in the morning and making sure she ate I brought her to the park. We played for hours and then we just sat down.
"How are your parents treating you"
"They are alright. I miss you"
"I miss you too Sofia but with work, it's hard to get time off"
"I know " she said with teary eyes
"Hey, Sofia it'll be alright. I'll always be here for you"
Sofia was the light in my life. The sister I got a little too late in life. The only friend I've kept. I love her too much. She'll always be my sister and my best friend no matter what.
I hope someday I find a loophole so I don't have to stop spending time with her. But even if she doesn't remember what I looked like a few months ago. She has pictures. In the future, she could ask why I got so pale or why my eyes change color.
I got out of my thoughts and took Sofia home. I wonder what the future holds for us. I never was close with either of my parents but it was because I came at an inconvenient time. She's loved but honestly, she's the only true blood relative I have.
The week passed by way too soon. Sending Sofia back to her parents was hard. I wish I could keep her here forever.
"You okay" Alice asked
"I'm debating if I should kidnap her before it's too late" she laughed at me
"It's kind of hard knowing I'll disappear out of her life, into thin air when in reality I'll still be here. I just can't see her so she won't suspect anything"
"Bells, it's better not to think about the future and just make memories when you can"
"I know"
After that, we went home and I just sat on my bed looking through scrapbooks. My father died, he probably would still be here if he didn't drink beer as if it was water. He was always a bit busy but always cared.
I lived mostly with my mother. She tried her best but I was an unexpected surprise. She didn't know anything about being a parent. People always say you mess up with the first one. I do love my parents I just see them more as friends more than family.
"Hey can I come in" I heard Carlisle ask
"Yeah come in"
He sat on the bed with me. He looked at me with such sad eyes.
"Are you okay"
"Yeah just flipping through some photos"
"You know neither of my parents were actual parents. Charlie tried his best. He cared but he was handed a sixteen year old girl. My mom, she was always more of a friend than a mother. I feel like I came at a bad time for the both of them. I loved them, but I didn't see them as parents. Sofia though the age gap, felt like the only family I had."
"Of course, I saw you guys as family more than my actual family. But then you left and I had no one for a while. Until she came along"
"I know it's hard but it'll get easier as time goes on"
He came closer and gave me a hug before leaving
Authors Note: I think I'm going to do a small time jump in the next chapter. I'm not really 100% sure yet.
