Zuko decides the time is right a few days after he had seen her at the school for the first time and goes back to an old trick of his, stalking people. He had gotten her mother's address from his father's computer while he was out and set out to meet her at the train station near her home. He sees a train pull into the station and a few students in the U.A uniform step off of the train eventually seeing Azula and standing.
"Azula," he calls out, seeing her freeze up turning suddenly to stare at him.
"Zuzu." she says before striding towards him Zuko tensing up as she wraps her arms around him, some of her classmates pausing around them, their cold classmate hugging someone in the middle of a train station. A camera snaps and Azula pushes away from Zuko turning to see a pink-skinned student with her phone out.
"Delete that photo," she demands only for the pink-skinned girl to take another photo before turning and sprinting away. Azula sighs before turning back to Zuko.
"I know where she lives." she tells him.
"I never thought i would see you again," Zuko says.
"Neither did i." she agrees, noting the tenseness in Zuko's form.
"I'm not planning on attacking you dum-dum." she says. Looking around the train station.
"There's a small shop that sells food that reminds me of home, we can talk there." She says turning and walking Zuko following after her letting her lead him through the neighborhood and into a small shop.
"Two of my usual," she tells the lady before leading her to the back booth.
"I would ask you how you found me, but finding people is one of your hobbies so ill ask this, What's the last thing you remember?"
"I remember winning the war and then serving as Firelord for Three years. I remember you escaping after finding our mother but that is the last time I saw you."
"My memories line up with that." Azula agrees as two plates are set down in front of them.
"Thank you," Zuko tells her as she walks away.
"Do you still have your bending? Or do you have some variation of sunshines quirk?" Zuko asks the question in the back of his head.
"You know my mother's hero name?" Azula asks surprised by Zuko's knowledge.
"I was born into the endeavour family." he elaborates and she laughs nearly giving Zuko a heart attack.
"You're Todoroki's brother? Agni must have a sense of humor," she tells him putting a hand over one of her eyes.
"I've thought the same on many occasions, But now isn't the time to talk about agni Azula."
"I suppose you're right, I've imagined us meeting again for years and every time i know exactly what I want to do.'' She stands and zuko prepares to defend himself when she falls to her knees and bows her head.
"I'm so sorry Zuko, for everything i did to you. And for everything I failed to stop" his eyes widen.'
"You've changed, please azula stand up." he pulls her to her feet and she sits down.
"This world was good to me, I'm medicated. And I go to therapy once a week." zuko looks over her shoulder and sees the pink girl from the train station standing at the window with her hands cupped to watch them.
"Minas behind me isnt she?"
"She is." he tells her and Azula reaches into her pocket pulling out her phone and sending Mina a quick threat before setting it on the table. Zuko sees her pull out her phone and open it, her eyes widening as she scrambles to text back before snapping another picture and rushing away.
"Did she leave?" azula asks and zuko nods
"Good, I'm surprised that you didnt attend u.a You should be about to graduate right?"
"I've already graduated azula, From a normal highschool."
"What? I'm surprised you didn't become a herp/"
"Endeavour is as bad as Zhao was, I wanted him to believe he had a Quirkless son."
"Ah, that's fair. But I'm sure you've slipped up here and there. You're incapable of looking the other way."
"You're not wrong," Zuko admits and Azula smiles when her phone rings, she looks down at it.
"It's my mother."
"Answer it," Zuko tells her and she slides her finger pressing it to her ear.
"Hey Azula, I was starting to worry when you didn't show up, and now minas here showing me pictures of you with some boy. Do you have a boyfriend?"
"No gross. I'm having lunch with my old friend Zuko Todoroki."
"T...Todoroki!?"
"You're boss's son, He's an old friend."
"Friend" Zuko mouths to himself and Azula waves him off.
"When did you meet one of the todoroki children? I didn't even know there was a Zuko todoroki"
"Well the number two hero has to be secretive doesn't he?" she asks and her mother agrees.
"Tell mina i said hi, I'm fine. By mom." she hangs up her phone putting it into her pocket.
"She worries, You should look into a hero school Zuko. I know you'd enjoy it."
"It's too late Azula, I needed to Join a school right out of Middle school. Im 17 so vigilante works all i can do."
"What would you know about being a vigilante Zuko?"
"Absolutely nothing." He lies poorly grabbing the chopsticks and trying the food his eyes widening.
"This almost tastes like the palace food."
"I thought so too." she agrees starting to eat.
Zuko walks into his house to find his sister waiting for him in the main room.
"Zuko you can't just disappear like that!" She yells rushing up to him looking him over.
"Fathers been looking for you, please don't make him mad.."
"We shouldn't have to worry about making him mad," Zuko tells her.
"Please Zuko." he sighs.
"Alright, ill try," he tells her before out into the courtyard towards endeavors office opening the door to find him sitting at his heavy wooden desk.
"Father." He gets his attention and endeavor looks at him.
"You're quirk, Why did you lie? I've spent all day trying to figure it out but i can't. Why would you waste the gift I've given you?!"
"You've given me nothing! Everything i have I have in spite of you not because you"
"You're as stubborn as shoto."
"I wonder where he got that," Zuko mutters and enjis eyes narrow.
"I refuse to let you waste what I've created. I've been in talks with U.A and they plan to Expel a student for misconduct, I've convinced them with the backing of the hero association to allow you to test for the spot. You'll have to attend all of their hero classes starting from first year due to already graduating from a lesser highschool" Enji tells him and Zuko can't believe it, Something must be at play to assure he would be able to attend U.A but he didn't have time to think on it.
"I'll do it," Zuko tells him, and Endeavour honest to god grins.
"Good."
