-You Can Be A Hero Too-

"So... remind me what you all are doing," Izuku Kayama asked his group of friends, who had been coming to his house a lot in the past week. It seemed like they always asked him the same question, and his answer was always the same. "If it's the same question as last time, my answer is..."

He attempted to continue, but his best friend, Hitoshi Aizawa, interrupted him. "Hold on a sec," Hitoshi said, raising his hand to stop Izuku from speaking. "At least hear us out. There's something we want to discuss."

Hitoshi then turned to Momo Yaoyorozu, the group's Mom, or Yao-Yao for short. "Hitoshi's right, Izuku. We understand that you may not have much interest in heroes, but give them a chance. You might be surprised," Momo pleaded, her eyes filled with hope.

"I believe Izuku has every right to have his own opinion about heroes. After all, they seem to be motivated solely by money," Shoto Todoroki, the quiet one of the group, chimed in. The group let out a collective sigh upon hearing Shoto speak, knowing that he would always side with Izuku, regardless of the topic.

Itsuka Kendo, the group's loudmouth, couldn't help but speak out loudly. "Come on, Shoto! Your loyalty runs a little too deep, don't you think?"

Shoto shot back a remark that made Kendo angry, and Hitoshi came to her aid while Momo tried to intervene and stop the three from escalating the argument any further.

Izuku observed the situation with an amused expression, surprised by how determined his friends were to convince him to join the prestigious hero school. He decided to give them an opportunity to demonstrate how the hero society had changed and why they believed Yuuei was better than before.

"I was about to express my thoughts," he began to speak, but their voices drowned him out with their yelling. An annoyed twitch formed on his forehead before he exclaimed, "WILL YOU ALL PLEASE SHUT UP!?"

His loud outburst immediately silenced the group, allowing him to continue, "I acknowledge that your arguments over the past week have been noteworthy, so I'll give each of you a chance to prove to me that Yuuei isn't as bad as you claim it to be."

His friend's eyes lit up with excitement, but their enthusiasm waned as he continued speaking. "I really want to believe that the Hero Society has changed for the better, but I need you to provide me with five solid, well-thought-out reasons why it's no longer filled with chauvinistic pigs. I want substantial evidence, not just off-the-cuff arguments. Take as much time as you need, whether it's days, weeks, or even months. I'll give you until just before the entrance exams."

"Now, please leave and take some time to think about it," he said, gently ushering them out of his house. He let out a sigh of relief and settled into a cross-legged position, eager to gather his own thoughts. However, his introspection was abruptly interrupted by the unmistakable sound of a loud and brash voice, one he knew all too well.

"You're quite the snarky brat, Izuku," a voice called out, making its presence known to the boy. Izuku, with his black hair, sighed and slowly opened his eyes, coming face to face with his 'favorite' familiar, Koyami.

Running his fingers through his hair, Izuku sighed once again. It seemed he wouldn't get a moment to himself today, would he? "Koyami, why are you always the first one to speak your mind? And why are you here anyway? Shouldn't all of you be attending that royal ball you wouldn't shut up about for the past week?"

"We decided to skip it," another voice chimed in, this time coming from his bed. Izuku turned around to see Sasami, the lazy familiar, lounging there.

"Of course, you guys did," Izuku responded, his frustration evident.

Nanami, the shy and youngest of the sisters, stuttered as she spoke, "I-I-I tried to warn them, Izuku-kun. F-Father will be v-very upset with us."

"So the three of you are here. Where is Hayami?" Izuku analyzed the situation, realizing that the oldest sister was missing. However, his observation was short-lived.

"I had already informed Father in advance that we would not be attending. He understands our situation and graciously accepted our decision," the last of the four sisters explained, completing the group. Izuku sometimes hated to admit it, but this was his power. The four of them hailed from another world.

They were the Four Guardians, entrusted with the task of protecting anyone who dared to wield the Zen'in sword. Unluckily, it was Izuku who had stumbled upon the blade long ago.

Izuku Midoriya's memories of his mother were hazy and distant. The man he had known as his father, Hisashi Midoriya, had been a constant presence in his life for as long as he could remember.

However, Hisashi was far from a loving and caring parent. In fact, he was a cursed man who had brought nothing but pain to Izuku's existence. Hisashi, along with his partner Miyagi Shigaraki, had orchestrated the abduction of Izuku and 100 other children, whisking them away to an underground facility known as Exodus.

Each child had been branded with a permanent number tattooed on their neck, marking them as property of Exodus. Within those dark walls, the children were subjected to ruthless training, honing their skills as cold-hearted killers, assassins, and mercenaries.

Some never made it out alive, while others... well, Izuku's father and Miyagi had personally overseen the training of the elite few known as The Chimera 5.

Reluctantly, Izuku had become a part of this group, despite his disdain for the path he was forced to walk. He knew his abilities far surpassed those of his peers whom he had defeated time and again to earn his place among the Chimera 5.

Life in Exodus was a strict and grueling routine. The day started promptly at 5:00 AM, with everyone expected to be dressed and prepared by 5:05 AM. Those who failed to meet this deadline faced brutal punishments and were thrown into solitary confinement.

Breakfast lasted until 5:45 AM, followed by rigorous training in their designated areas until noon. Lunch was a short respite, concluding at 12:40 PM, after which the children delved into their academic studies until 2:30 PM. Training resumed at 6:35 PM, leaving only a brief window for a shower before bedtime at 7:00 PM.

As members of Chimera 5, Izuku and his four comrades underwent specialized training, which differed from the rest of the facility's inhabitants.

They engaged in intense sparring sessions and practiced harnessing their unique quirks in combat against one another. Although Izuku had originally been born without a quirk, Miyagi had found a way to change his fate and unlock his dormant abilities.

Miyagi's doctor, Dr. Kyudai Garaki, gave him a quirk that Izuku would come to hate for his entire life. It was a cursed quirk called 'Cursed Speech,' which compelled listeners to act or be acted upon based on his words. To control the power of his quirk, seals were branded onto his tongue and cheeks, and he would glow green when his quirk was activated.

To make matters worse, he was also branded with the tattoo number 'Zero' as the first kid to be brought into Exodus, a mysterious organization. Unfortunately, he wasn't the last.

During one of his training sessions, he faced his usual fighting partners, Tomura Shigaraki and Toya Todoroki, who were both branded with tattoo numbers, 'Thirteen' and 'Three,' respectively. Since there were five of them, Izuku, Tomura, and Toya had to fight each other while the other two were paired against one another.

Despite the intense training sessions, Izuku never forgot his true goal: to use his powers to help people and become a hero. He hoped that one day, he would be able to turn his curse into a blessing and prove that even those with cursed quirks could be heroes too.

"Get ready boys," Miyagi said darkly over the intercom sending shivers down Izuku's spine. He kept the emotionless look on his face and got into a stance. His seal glowing green.

"No hard feelings if I win" Izuku bragged a little because he had come out victorious on the last couple of these they had.

Tomura extended his hands slightly, preparing to unleash his decay Quirk if necessary, while Toya's blue fire began to flicker to life. "Brats like you need to learn your place," he sneered, his desire to choke the life out of the black-haired boy evident in his eyes.

Despite being only eight years old, Izuku was no pushover. He had proven himself time and again in their one-on-one battles, defeating Toya on numerous occasions.

Despite the significant age difference—Toya being sixteen and Tomura thirteen—Izuku's skills surpassed expectations.

"Begin."

The three combatants charged at each other, their eyes filled with deadly determination. Meanwhile, the remaining two onlookers observed the intense clash, their gaze unwavering.

Among them was a girl, her bright yellow eyes with thin slits slightly tilting inward, resembling those of a cat. She broke the silence with a curious tone.

"Who do you think will emerge victorious this time?" Her interest was palpable. The girl she addressed had little interest in the question, but she knew that ignoring it would only lead to relentless annoyance.

"Midoriya will," she replied reluctantly.

"Awwww, not again, Kyo! You always root for Izuku-kun," the girl playfully remarked, twirling around Kyo in circles.

"Toga, I've told you countless times, and I'll say it again. Midoriya possesses the best quirk for these situations and will undoubtedly always come out on top."

Kyo, a fair-skinned young girl with long, flowing black hair, enters the scene. Her hair is usually tied back with a striking black-red ribbon, reaching mid-back length when she lets it down. She has bangs and a few loose hair strands that frame her face on either side.

Her most striking features are her large, almond-shaped black eyes, which can appear sharper depending on her mood. She has thin eyebrows that accentuate her intense gaze.

Both of them bear branded numbers: Kyo with the number two, and Toga with the number six.

Meanwhile, Izuku has been evading Toya's relentless fire attacks, desperately searching for an opportunity to develop a strategic plan.

'Tenko needs to approach the situation strategically with his quirk. Being a close-range fighter, he can't afford to charge recklessly and risk getting close to Toya. Moreover, he seems hesitant to engage in a fight with me, knowing my skills in hand-to-hand combat. If we were to face off, I am confident I would emerge victorious. However, disarming Toya won't be a problem for me, although the aftermath of using my quirk can have severe consequences. Unfortunately, my father and his manipulative partner have control over my medication, making it uncertain whether they will provide it to help ease the strain on my throat.'

His frustration reached its breaking point as his brain wrestled with the dilemma, but he realized there was no alternative route. Though it meant facing formidable opponents, he had limited choices: engage in a hazardous battle against Toya, risking severe burns, or confront Tomura, knowing he could turn to dust.

Despite the peril, he had faith that his Father would protect him, especially considering his affiliation with the Chimera 5. With this assurance in mind, he devised a strategy to gain the upper hand.

As he solidified his plan, determination surged through him, propelling him towards Tomura without paying heed to Toya's objections.

Swiftly, he launched himself into the air and delivered a forceful downward kick aimed at Tomura's head. Anticipating the attack, Tomura instinctively retracted his head while extending his hands to decay Izuku's leg.

In a desperate maneuver, Izuku contorted his body mid-air, twisting it in an awkward and uncomfortable manner to evade the decaying effect that threatened to reduce his leg to nothing.

With calculated precision, he gracefully landed in a crouched position, deftly avoiding the incoming stomp. Aware of how to manipulate Tomura's emotions by persistently dodging his assaults, Izuku plotted his next move.

From the very moment, this battle began, Izuku's mind raced as his meticulously formulated plan unfolded flawlessly.

Observing Tomura's hand extending towards his face, Izuku instinctively seized his wrist with a firm grip, exerting pressure. As expected, Tomura attempted to strike with his free hand, only to meet the same outcome.

"Sleep, Tomura," Izuku commanded, utilizing his quirk to induce a deep slumber in his opponent.

As Tomura slumped down, Izuku coughed slightly and turned his attention to Toya, who had been watching the fight with unsettling amusement.

"This time, Toya, I'll relish in giving you the beating you deserve," Izuku responded, maintaining a composed silence to let the arrogant teenager bask in his own ego.

Adopting his well-honed martial art style—Full-Contact Karate—Izuku assumed a focused stance. He had extensively trained in this discipline during his private lessons with Miyagi and his skilled instructors, continuously developing new techniques.

With determination, Izuku charged toward the teenager, whose fiery powers ignited in response.

"Come on, Midoriya!" he shouted, his voice filled with determination, as he unleashed a torrent of blue fire toward the young boy.

"Split in half!" he commanded, directing the raging fire towards him, and it obediently followed his orders. He continued his relentless assault on Toya.

"Tch, your quirk is nothing but an asspull," he barked, frustration evident in his voice, as he hurled mini-fireballs at the boy. Izuku gracefully flipped and executed various evasive maneuvers, dodging each attack with precision.

"Damn, you, Zero!" Toya snapped, his anger mounting, much like Tomura's, as Izuku deftly avoided all of his onslaughts until finally closing the distance between them.

With a swift duck, Izuku delivered an upward kick toward Toya's hand, causing his fire to erupt upwards. Taking advantage of the opening, he executed a quick backflip before unleashing one of his signature techniques.

"You've lost, Toya," Izuku declared, his voice filled with confidence and a touch of compassion.

"Choku Zuki!" he said, swiftly striking Toya in the chest and then swiftly bringing him down with a neck chop, creating a powerful impact that left a small crater where his face crashed.

"Congratulations, Zero. You have emerged victorious in another intense combat battle between Thirteen and Three," Miyagi's voice resounded over the intercom from their observation area.

"Six and Two are yet to battle. Once their match concludes, all of you will have lunch and then report to your respective classes," Miyagi's tone turned more authoritative, lacking the previous gentleness.

As the medics swiftly attended to Toya and Tomura, ensuring their healing and preparing them just in time for lunch, Izuku exited the small arena. Meanwhile, Kyo and Toga took their places on the stage. As Izuku walked past the two, Toga paused and planted a quick kiss on his cheek.

"You did great, Izuku-kun," Toga exclaimed, her face flushed with excitement.

Izuku had grown accustomed to Toga's praise over time and had learned to playfully reciprocate her advances, occasionally teasing her.

"I appreciate your support, Himiko," Izuku replied, much to her delight. As Toga happily skipped to her side of the arena, she made sure all her combat knives were securely fastened to her belt.

Although Izuku planned to go wash up, he didn't want to miss the opportunity to observe Kyo and Himiko's fight. It was important for him to assess their abilities in relation to his own goals and future plans. After all, they were the Chimera 5, a name he intended to exploit to his advantage.

"Are you both ready?" This time, his father's voice rang out, and Izuku scowled at the sound. The two girls nodded in response, indicating their readiness. With Hisashi's signal to start, the battle commenced.

Toga unsheathed two gleaming knives, gripping them tightly in her hands. With a determined gaze, she launched herself towards Kyo, fully aware of the challenge posed by Kyo's formidable quirk, 'Dark Wings.' The moment called for Toga to close the distance swiftly.

Kyo's quirk manifested as a pair of imposing black feathery wings sprouting from her back. These wings granted her the ability to take flight, effortlessly manipulating each feather through telekinesis. She could mold them into blade-like formations, launch them as projectiles, and dictate their speed and trajectory with ease.

However, just as Toga prepared to strike, Kyo swiftly extracted her wings from her back, hovering slightly above the ground. The sudden elevation caught Toga off guard, eliciting a frustrated whine as she realized the battle may have tilted in her favor.

Izuku narrowed his eyes, fully aware of Kyo's exceptional combat skills. He acknowledged that Kyo possessed the advantage in a one-on-one confrontation with Himiko.

Nevertheless, Izuku knew better than to underestimate Himiko's own unique abilities. Her berserk state made her a force to be reckoned with, presenting a daunting challenge to her opponents.

Seizing the opportunity, Kyo unleashed a barrage of wing projectiles toward Toga. The sharp feathers sailed through the air, prompting Toga to dart around the arena frantically, desperate to evade their deadly trajectory.

Meanwhile, the entrance arena door automatically slid open, revealing the arrival of Toya and Tomura, who had been healed and prepared to join the fray.

The trio exchanged looks as they stood next to Izuku. Toya leaned down and whispered in Izuku's ear, his voice filled with both pain and frustration. "You could've held back on that hit, asshole," he hissed, still feeling the effects of the neck strike.

Izuku whispered back, matching Toya's tone. "I had to make it look believable. You want to get out of here, don't you?"

Toya nodded, his impatience evident. "Yeah, yeah. Just how much longer until your plan is ready to go?"

Izuku's gaze shifted to the camera observing them and the ongoing battle, his eyes filled with cold determination.

He knew that Hisashi and Miyagi were watching the trio closely.

"Give me a few more days," he replied.

Suddenly, they heard a loud thud and turned to find Toga lying unconscious on the ground.

"The winner of this match is Two."
