Chapter 2: The day everything changed

It all started when Amy picked up Robbie from their grandparents house because they were on vacation and George had to go to the police station. Amy decided to take Robbie to Adrian's apartment so they could spend some time together. Then Ashley would be joining them later. Amy thought they were in for a good day. Little did she know how wrong she was.

"Hey guys." Adrian said with a smile as she greeted Amy and Robbie with hugs.

"Adrian!" Robbie yelled out as they entered the house

"So are you excited to graduate college soon?" Adrian asked with a smile as Amy's phone rang

"Yeah." Amy said with a smile

"The phones ringing!" Robbie yelled out

"That's my phone sorry." Amy said as the doorbell rang

"I'll get it! It's probably Ashley." Robbie said with a smile as he ran to the door

"We don't know for sure." Adrian said as Robbie opened the door

"Ashley!" Robbie said with a smile

"Hi Robbie." Ashley said as she gave him and Adrian a hug

"Amy stepped outside the backdoor to take a phone call." Adrian said knowing Ashley was wondering where Amy was

"Oh ok." Ashley said as she heading to the living room with Adrian and Robbie

Meanwhile Amy is outside in the backyard and gets a call from the Los Angeles County Jail. She just assumes it's Cindy or George calling about being held for a crime like selling drugs or assault. She wasn't expecting to hear what she was going to be hearing.

"What'd you do now?" Amy said as she answered the phone

"What a nice way to greet your dad." George said

"Dad, I'm being serious." Amy said as calmly as she could

"I need you to pick up my car and the rest of my stuff from the police station." George said

"Did you lose your license again? Are we gonna have to drive you around again?" Amy said

"No. I'm being held without bond because an old friend told his cellmate about the time we killed a guy and buried his body because we thought he was the person who told on us for selling drugs but it turns out he wasn't." George said casually

"When was this?" Amy asked shocked

"Almost 21 years ago." George said

"How are the police just finding out about this?" Amy asked

"Because my friends cellmate told the police so he'll probably have to serve more time. I mean he's already locked up for child abuse and a drug bust." George said

"Let me guess, you now need me to take custody of Robbie like last time." Amy said

"Your grandparents and sisters are also an option." George said

"Think about it. Grandma and Grandpa are almost 60, Adrian is still in school and Ashley is only 16." Amy said

"Well you're the one I want." George said

"Then why are you trying to get grandma, grandpa, Adrian and Ashley to do it?" Amy asked

"Just talk to them about it. Bye." George said as he abruptly hung up on Amy.

"What was that about?" Ashley asked

"You're gonna wanna sit down for this one." Amy said
