Disclaimer: I don't know why I have to disclaim that I don't own Fuller House (as I never claimed I did) lol

The first thing Kimmy thought when she woke up was, something is wrong. She didn't know why she felt like that. Something just seemed off. Immediately she went into Ramona's room. Romana was in tears.

"Honey," Kimmy said sitting down next to Romana, "It's okay. I think-"

"No Mom," Romana interrupted her, "It's not okay."

She showed Kimmy her right foot which was swollen to double its normal size.

"It really hurts," she added.

Kimmy took a deep breath and tried to stay calm. The last thing Romana needed was to see her mother freaking out.

"I'm going to call Steve," Kimmy said decidedly.

Romona nodded.

"Thanks, Mom," she said, "I love you."

Steve's phone rang twice. He saw it was from DJ's house and picked up the phone.

"Deej?"

"It's me," Kimmy said, "Listen something is wrong with Romana. Her foot is swollen and hot."

"I'll come into the office," Steve said, "Bring her in. I want to get some X-rays."

"What do you think it is," Kimmy asked.

"I'm not sure," Steve said, "I want to find out."

It took about ½ an hour to get to Steve's office. He took the X-ray and soon came back into the waiting room.

"Kimmy," he said gently, "Sit down."

"What's wrong," Kimmy asked.

"Please," Steve motioned to the chair.

Kimmy sat down.

"Romana," Steve said putting a hand on Kimmy's back, "Has a tumor in her foot. I'm going to remove it. The good news is that the type of tumor she has is never cancerous. It just causes a lot of pain and swelling. You need to call DJ and Fernando… maybe Stephanie too."

Steve disappeared into the operating room. When he explained to Romana what was going on she seemed calm.

"You said it's not cancer right?"

"This type of tumor never is," Steve reassured Ramona, "I'm going to give you an injection to-"

"Can you use laughing gas instead," Romana asked, "I'm terrified of needles."

"Sure," Steve said smiling.

He put the nitrous on.

"Thank you," Romona said.

Outside, in the waiting room, Kimmy called DJ first.

"Kimmy, what's going on? Where are you? Where's Romona?"

"Deej, Romona is in Steve's office," Kimmy said tearfully, "She has a tumor in her foot. Steve is taking it out. He told me this kind of tumor is never cancerous but Deej, I'm terrified."

"I'll be right over," DJ said, "I'll bring the kids, Fernando, Stephanie, and Jimmy."

"Thanks, DJ," Kimmy said sniffling, "I love you."

"I know," DJ said, "I love you too."

Ten minutes later everyone gathered around Kimmy.

"It's going to be alright Kimberlina," Fernando reassured her, "Our girl is strong."

"Yeah Kimmy," Stephanie said, "And Steve is the best podiatrist in the world. He'll take care of her."

"How are you so calm," Kimmy asked Fernando, "She's your little girl too."

"I know," Fernando said hugging Kimmy, "I also know she's going to be just fine. I love my Romona, and I love you, Kimberlina."

"You're not alone," Max said.

"Yeah. We'll get through this together," Jackson promised.

"Absolutely," DJ said.

The surgery lasted 4 hours and 45 minutes. Steve finally came out.

"I managed to get the whole tumor," he said, "But she's going to be hurting for awhile. I'm going to prescribe her 3 months' worth of Percocet to take as per needed no more than 3 a day. Less would be even better."

"Can we see her," Fernando asked.

Steve nodded and led everyone into the procedure room. Ramona was just waking up. After awhile she was able to go home.

Ramona did recover. It took three months before she was able to be on her feet again. Still, she was grateful to Steve. She had some struggles but with the support of her family and friends, she overcame those struggles.

One day during the next visit to Steve's office Kimmy approached Steve after Ramona was waiting in the car.

"What do I owe you," she asked.

"You don't owe me a thing," Steve said, "I don't charge my friends."

"Surely I can give you something?"

"I'll tell you what," Steve said, "Donate as much money as you want to your favorite charity."

Kimmy decided to donate $1,000 to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital. Ramona didn't have cancer; thank GOD but she could easily have. Kimmy wanted to make a difference for the people who were in her situation… or what her situation could have been. Thank GOD things were better.
