M - Master, a moment please?
D - Go ahead, apprentice.
M - I'm confused as to what happens now.
D - What do you mean?
M - Can one Sith have many apprentices?
D - I can do whatever I like, so the answer to your question is obviously yes.
M - And what does that mean for me? Do I continue on as before? Is Jaesa my rival or my colleague? Does having two apprentices affect me in any way, or is it just an extra burden for you? I'm sorry if I am annoying, but this Sith business is very different from anything I know.
(He laughs, speaks while smirking)
D - Oh, you are jealous. Don't worry, I'm perfectly capable of dividing my attention between the two of you.
M - No, it's not that. I don't know if I'm supposed to kill her or help her.
D - Good point. I guess, both.
M - Please explain master, I don't understand.
D - You must care for your own advancement. When you feel she can help with that, or if I give specific orders for the two of you to work together, then you must help her. When you feel she hinders your growth and your actions don't impede my goals, then you could plot her downfall if you deem it necessary.
M - So, ultimately I have to think about what is best for me, as long as my actions don't contradict your orders or harm you in any way.
D - Exactly, you said it perfectly.
M - Thank you master. I'm trying. One more question please.
D - Ask away.
M - In order to further advance myself, in the end I will have to kill you, correct?
D - Not entirely. You should only try that if you feel you have a chance to succeed. That time may never come however. Nonetheless, my personal advancement facilitates your advancement.
M - Advancing the ranks in the Sith order you mean?
D - Partly. If I become more powerful, you as my apprentice will become more powerful. The tasks we undertake will test us both and help both our training. If we overcome the hurdles in our way, we will both be stronger for it.
M - If I was to become a threat to you, became stronger, would you seek my end?
D - Probably. I haven't met anyone yet that made me feel like that.
M - Not even your own master?
D - I believe I am stronger than my master now.
M - Shouldn't you be plotting his death then?
D - Probably. Maybe I already am.
M - Wouldn't you share that with me?
D - Why would I? You might try to betray me in the process.
M - I see. Betrayal can be around any corner, even to those close to you.
D - Exactly.
(He looks at her for a while)
D - I enjoy your way of thinking a lot. You arrive at conclusions that I wasn't expecting you to come to so soon.
M - Always looking behind your back though, isn't it a sad way to live one's life?
(He smirks)
D - I was on Tatooine some time ago and there I communed with my light side. That was the argument he used to persuade me to embrace the light.
M - And? Did you?
D - I destroyed that part of me. I am Sith!
M - But that means you prefer to live always in suspicion of others?
D - I prefer to live in the real world. I suggest you do the same.
M - Is there love in this world?
D - Love is an emotion, very potent too. Emotions are very important for the Sith, we use them as conduits to draw our power from the force.
M - You are talking about being in love with someone.
D - Obviously.
M - I'm talking about loving in general. The feeling you have when you feel good with the people around you, your surroundings in general.
D - So when you are calm and peaceful?
M - Of course, I see.
D - Love is one of the strongest emotions we use, longing also, loss too. Negative feelings are very potent, but love, which is a positive feeling, can be one of the strongest to draw upon.
M - What if you don't love someone? You just don't use that emotion?
D - Yes, you find others that are strong, like revenge.
M - Thank you master for indulging my questions.
D - I rather enjoy our discussions. I didn't expect to, to be honest.
(She smiles)
M - Same for me.
(He smiles reacting to her)
(They look at each other for some time)
D - Don't you have business to attend to?
M - Yes master, may I be excused?
D - You may.
(She gets up, looks at him, bows her head slightly, turns to leave)
