Our story begins in the Snow Kingdom, where Bowser of course lands his castle in the land. The Koopa Troopas stand their ground, and Kamek introduces Bowser. The penguins also stand their ground, preparing to attack Bowser.

They at first throw snowballs at Bowser, to no avail. However, that was only a TASTE of their fury, and the whole thing was the ice flower they used. The fight between the two clans was harsh, but in the end, Bowser managed to defeat them, and nab one of the Power Stars. He asks himself, "WHO'S GONNA STOP ME?!"

We cut to the Mario Bros Plumbing commercial, where after it plays on the Punch-Out Pizzeria's TV, the titular Mario Brothers brag about how epic they think their commercial is, to which Jump Man agrees, and Spike doesn't.

After the Mario Brothers argue with Spike, with Spike having the last words, being "You really don't know when to quit", before leaving the place.

That's when they get their first customer, and they rush to their van. Unfortunately, it won't start, so they run there instead. Like in the original movie, we see the action scene where they mimic a traditional 2D Mario game, before arriving at the complex.

When they make it, they take out their tools while the customer explains their issue. Unfortunately, Luigi stepped on the customer's dog, Francis's, bone, angering the mutt in the process.

Mario and Luigi fix the pipes, and it seems they were successful, until Fracis comes into the bathroom with a vengeance. We get the same action scene from the actual movie, and after the customers see what happened, they glare at the Mario brothers before cutting to Mario's house.

Mario and Luigi sit down for dinner with the rest of their family, where their father disapproves of Mario forcing Luigi to fulfill his plan, saying he's "draggin Luigi down with him", which those words stick with Mario, making him feeling guilty, not helping is all the mushrooms they put onto his spaghetti, because Mario hated mushrooms. They also mention how they wouldn't wanna end up like their cousins, Wario and Waluigi, who went missing after exploring an abandoned sewer plant.

After dinner, Mario goes to his bedroom and plays some games on his NES while still feeling bad, before Luigi comes in and has a talk with Mario. Mario explains his dilemma to Luigi, and they talk with each other. In this movie, the talk will go on for about one and a half minutes, giving more screen time to their relationship.

After their talk, Mario looks out the window, only to see a bunch of water flowing down the street, much to his surprise. He tells Luigi to turn on the News, and we get to see Mayor Pauline reporting a massive leakage in the sewers, and Mario knows why. It was because of that incident at that fancy house.

However, they knew how to stop the flood. They got their tools and rushed to the source of the flood. Mario looked for the correct sewer grate and opened it, allowing the duo to jump in and find a broken water main. They quickly climb over to it, and manage to pull the wheel and stop the leakage, just before the pipe they're hanging onto breaks, and makes them crash into a brick wall.

Afterwards, they find the abandoned sewer plant, which worries Luigi, as he doesn't want to wind up like his missing cousins. Mario, on the other hand, thinks they can escape if they're careful enough.

As they were walking, Luigi found an odd GREEN pipe that looked rather out of place. Mario did manage to find a ladder that would lead them out, but all he heard in response was the iconic pipe warp sound. Mario then saw the pipe himself, and thought Luigi walked into it.

That's when Mario saw Luigi's wrench, and picked it up. He called Luigi's name, before the wrench flew out of his hand, and into the black void of the pipe. Then Mario started getting pulled into the pipe himself, and right at that moment, he put two and two together, and knew what happened to not only Luigi, but his cousins.

Mario was then fully flying into the pipe, and soon he was flying through space and time itself, with these colorful clouds with currents connecting them to each other, and even ROSALINA'S FREAKING COMET OBSERVATORY.

Mario finds Luigi screaming his name, to which Mario accelerates towards him, and grabs his hand. Mario tries to promise that no matter what, they will always stay together, before being separated, as Luigi's hand slips out of Mario's hand, and falls into a black cloud, and Mario flies into a cloud shaped like a mushroom.

We cut to the stone cliff, where we see another green pipe, and it starts glowing before shooting Mario out of it, and onto a giant mushroom, which he slides off of and onto the ground. He stands up and looks at the world around him. He knows he's not in Brooklyn anymore.

He goes to touch one of the mushrooms, as he's never seen those kinds of mushrooms before, and that's when Toad jumps out and yells "DON'T TOUCH THAT MUSHROOM YOU'LL DIE!", to the shock of Mario.

Toad apologized for startling Mario, and introduced himself. Mario questioned how a mushroom could be alive, or the logic of the world he was in, letting Toad know he was from Earth.

Toad gives a one minute explanation to Mario about the Mushroom Kingdom, plus the other kingdoms, with some cool pixel animation to go with the explanation. Essentially, the world was created by the NintendGods, who created a universe that's NOTHING like Earth, with so much mystery and whimsy.

Afterwards, Mario told Toad about his brother and how he went missing, where Toad gasped as Luigi was in the darklands. But then he remembered her queen was a human, and so was Mario. So he offered Mario to take him to her, which he accepted.

That's when Mario saw Peach's castle, and told himself that he would find Luigi.

Meanwhile with Luigi, he woke up after being knocked out, and he looked around the darklands, being creeped out. He grabbed his flashlight and looked around, before being spotted by a drybones. It tried to attack Luigi, before Luigi was slingshotted by a tree, making it fall apart. Luigi first assumes he defeated the thing, starts cheering, before it comes back to life and reforms itself.

A bunch more dry bones start crawling out of the dirt, and start chasing Luigi, in a pretty cool action scene before he hides out in a haunted mansion. Luigi at first thinks he's safe, before he hears some creepy sounds. He thinks there are ghosts, so he pulls out a vacuum thinking he could suck them up like in Ghostbusters.

And guess what, he sees a bunch of boos, and sucks them up! Luigi feels more brave, and thinks he's in the clear, until lightning strikes and we see shy guys behind him preparing to capture him.

Back in the Mushroom kingdom, Mario and Toad traverse through the Mushroom Kingdom's town, and we get to see some of Toad's friends and family on the way, including Toadette, Toadbert, and more.

When they finally make it up, Toad distracts the guards by cooking them something delicious, and Mario makes it through, only to be caught by some more guards, causing him to be chased.

In the mainroom of Peach's castle, a bunch of Toads, with the lead Toad being Toadsworth, surround a huge map made of Voxels, showcasing all the lands in their universe, including grass, desert, snow, water, jungle, mountains, clouds, all the worlds from the 3D Mario games (except the Metro Kingdom, because that's from Earth, which is also on the map), the Kong Kingdom, and Bowser's kingdom.

Peach herself walks into the room, and explains how Bowser is collecting power stars from each of the kingdoms, and if he gets all of them, he'll have enough power to take over the universe. Peach sends her army to stop Bowser after creating an attack plan, and then she leaves.

Peach starts feeling sad though, so Princess Daisy starts talking to her, asking her what's wrong. Peach says she doesn't like being one of the only humans in the Mushroom Kingdom, despite growing up there. She wants a boyfriend, but not with a Toad.

That's when Mario runs into Peach, and the two guards prepare to attack Mario. But Peach calls them off, and Mario is grateful. Peach clearly recognizes that Mario's another Human, and Daisy's like, "Welp, you got your wish! Are you happy?"

Afterwards, Peach takes Mario to a room with 2 glass portraits of herself, and five doors. One being red, one being green, one being yellow, one being purple, and the one in the center being white.

Peach asks Mario if he's okay, and who he is, how he got here, and where he came from. There will be a one minute talk scene where Mario explains everything to Peach, and how he would go through anything to save his brother. Peach understands, and decides since her army is already trying to attack Bowser, she might as well train Mario to overcome all the obstacles he might face in the meantime. Also, Daisy is really interested in Luigi.

Peach and Daisy take Mario to the training course, where Peach shows Mario how to do it. After she completes it successfully, Daisy says she taught Peach to do that.

Of course, Peach gives Mario the mushroom he needs to eat to grow big as she explains the concept of power-ups. But of course, Mario says he thinks mushrooms are gross, and the one he was holding has eyes. Peach shoves it into his mouth anyway, making him grow bigger.

Then comes the training montage where Mario does the course and fails many times, before finally getting it right, and Peach congratulates him.

Back with Luigi, he's being held captive by Shy Guys on a hot air balloon, and he reminisces on a memory, when he was building a block tower as a baby, and baby Spike knocked it over, and Mario stood up to him. Luigi misses his brother.

Meanwhile, with Bowser, he expresses how he's gained 89 out of the 100 power stars around the mushroom kingdom, and once he gets all of them, he's gonna try to impress Peach and get her to marry him. And if she rejects him, he will demolish the mushroom kingdom.

That's when we meet Bowser's children. AKA, Bowser JR, Koopa Kid, and the Koopalings, who were born via Kamek using his magic to create 9 younger clones of Bowser. The tenth clone is Dry Bowser, who will make a cameo.

Bowser tells his children to find Mario, who might fall in love with Peach, to prevent that from happening, which they accept.

Mario and Peach leave the castle, and Daisy watches over the castle as they go out. Then Toad peaks up behind Mario, and Peach calls Toad her personal assistant, which he is. She also asked Mario if they met, which Mario confirmed, and was pretty surprised.

That's when Peach found three Yoshis. One red, one blue, and one green. Mario knew the green Yoshi from childhood since he was the one who saved Mario and Luigi from Baby Bowser, confirming that Mario and Luigi have been in the Mushroom Kingdom before, let alone separated again.

The trio ride the Yoshi's across the Mushroom kingdom, where we see many familiar locations. However, they stop at Bomb-Omb Battlefield as they hear turtle shells, growing cautious and suspicious of the place. That's when Bowser Junior, Koopa Kid, and the Koopalings jump out of the bushes and prepare to fight.

Cue an epic fight scene between them all, where they use various different power ups, and each of the Koopalings express their personalities along the way. After a couple minutes though, Mario gains the mega mushroom, and stomps on them all at once, causing them to retreat into their clown cars and head back to Bowser.

The trio are satisfied with their victory, and that's when they see the sun setting, so they stop for the night. While under a tree, Mario remarks how much information about the Mushroom Kingdom Peach knew during their fight and asks how she learned all of that knowledge. Peach explains she was raised in the Mushroom Kingdom by the Toads after getting lost there. The Toads raised her to be like them, and once she was old enough, she became the Princess. Mario knew she came from Earth, and Peach tried to deny it at first, but she soon admitted it. Mario and Peach's bond was growing stronger.

And now for the iconic "Peaches" song. It will mostly be the same, except Bowser will say "Peaches" 6 times in a row instead of 5 times. And then Kamek comes into the room along with Bowser's kids, and announces they failed to stop Mario.

Bowser asks Kamek to jam with him, and he talks with Kamek before he hears Mario's brother has been captured, and he slams the piano's lid on Kamek's fingers and grounds his kids for not stopping Mario.

Bowser interrogates Luigi, and tries to get him to talk. Luigi resists at first, but he gives up and starts talking after Bowser pulls his mustache. Luigi is then held inside a cage over a massive pit of lava, along with a bunch of other creatures, including the penguins, some of the Toad Army, and a demented Lumalee.

Luigi tried to think of ways to escape, but then his heart nearly stopped when he saw his cousins, Wario and Waluigi, working for Bowser. They were in charge of the cages, but they were only doing it for the money.

Mario, Peach, and Toad have finally arrived at the Kong Kingdom. The red and blue yoshi's leave, but the green one stays. Funky Kong opened the door for them, and drove them to Cranky Kong, with the original "Driving Me Bananas" soundtrack. Cranky Kong, plus his son, Donkey Kong Junior (or Senior), saw the Princess and let her talk.

Peach explained the dilemma with Bowser and asked if his army could help fight, which Cranky Kong denies at first because he thinks his army would do all the work while the Toads do nothing. Mario stands up to Cranky Kong though, and Cranky says if he can beat his grandson, Donkey Kong, he'll let his army fight.

Mario prepares to fight Donkey Kong, and once he goes onto the massive fighting course, all the kongs start booing him. Meanwhile, Donkey Kong himself jumps onto the course, and everyone starts cheering. We also get to see Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Kiddy Kong, Funky Kong, Candy Kong, Swanky Kong, Tiny Kong, Lanky Kong, Chunky Kong, and even the ghost of Wrinkly Kong. The course is a combination of a simple Smash Bros course, Level 1-1, and 25mm.

We pretty much get the same fight from the original movie, and after they go to rest at DK's house, Mario and Donkey Kong talk about their father/grandfather issues for a solid minute before they prepare to head into the kart-making room.

Afterwards, they drive onto the Rainbow Road, and this time around, the soundtrack is a combination of all Rainbow Roads rather than just the SNES one. While driving, Peach mentions how she would like to visit Brooklyn one day.

It's all well and good, until Bowser sends his army in their own karts to stop the kongs once he sees Mario talking with peach. We get the same action scene from the original movie, except Mario and Donkey Kong are in the lead, and Yoshi's now in Peach's kart along with Toad.

Now the Koopa General will attack Mario and Donkey Kong, and Peach, Toad, and Yoshi barely make it over the road, while everyone else stops dead in their tracks. All the Kongs get captured, and Mario saves Donkey Kong in the ocean, until they both get eaten by a Maw-Ray.

Once Luigi sees all the Kongs that have been captured by bowser in the cages, he decides he's had enough and he needs to escape once and for all. He tries to convince Wario and Waluigi to not stay on the dark side, and they eventually decide to set them free, since they're family.

They close the lava moat, lower the cages onto the ground, and unlock them. Cue Bowser JR, Koopa Kid, the Koopalings, and ΒΌ of Bowser's minions catching them, and they have to fight, with Wario and Waluigi on their side.

Meanwhile, Peach, Yoshi, and Toad make it back to the Mushroom Kingdom, where they yell at everybody to evaluate, and they tell Princess Daisy that Bowser is coming.

Just then, Bowser parked his castle on the edge of Peach's castle, and asked Peach to marry him since he had 99 of the power stars, and if Peach handed over hers, they could be unstoppable. At first, she said no, but as soon as Kamek started torturing Toad, Yoshi, and Daisy, she gave in and said she'd marry him.

Back with Mario and Donkey Kong, they have a minute talk scene explaining their family issues before admitting they need to find a way to escape, to which they find one of the rocket Barrels on Donkey Kong's vehicle, and use that to escape.

Peach is preparing her wedding dress, and Toad gives her the bouquet saying "Is this good?", and Peach replies "This is perfect!" If you look closely, there's an ice flower.

At the Wedding, we get to see a couple familiar faces, like King Bomb-Omb and King Boo from the original movie, but also Petey Piranha, Chief Chilly, and more. Peach walks onto the Altar, and, SUPRISE, Peach pulls out the ice flower and freezes Kamek!

Then we see all of the prisoners escaping Bowser's castle and attacking his army in the Mushroom Kingdom's town. Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi however help Peach, Daisy, Toad, and Yoshi attack everyone at the wedding.

Then Mario and Donkey Kong noticed all the action that was happening and decided to help, with Donkey Kong using a Fire Flower and Mario using a normal Mushroom. After defeating a lot of enemies, Mario grabs a superleaf and flies and Donkey Kong climbs up the chains to Bowser's castle, Peach freezes Bowser and Mario FINALLY reunites with Luigi. They hug each other, Luigi gets to see Yoshi again, and Daisy hits on Luigi, calling him more brave than she thought. Mario is also surprised to see Wario and Waluigi, who apologize for joining the dark side.

But as Mario holds Peach's hand, Bowser escapes the ice block and orders a Bomber Bill to demolish Peach's castle. After it's fired, Mario flies over to it and swings his tail in its eye, causing it to stop and follow him instead.

We get an awesome chase scene where Mario flies through so many iconic Mario worlds, such as Whomp's Fortress, Delfino Plaza, Gusty Garden's Galaxy, and so many more worlds! Plus a barrage of references and pixel animations all throughout! We even see Princess Rosalina and her Luma watch Mario being chased on her Comet Observatory, and she travels to the Mushroom Kingdom to ask Peach what's going on.

As Mario flies through space itself, he remembers the Warp Pipe, and sends the Bill into the pipe, causing it to explode. Like in the original movie, Bowser's island gets sent to Brooklyn, and Bowser gets FURIOUS. He realizes everything he suffered through is Mario's fault as he's the one who Peach fell in love with.

Bowser also remembered he had all 100 power stars, and he was about to use them, until they leaked loose and flew all over Brooklyn. Mario has one more level to beat. Bowser tried to breath fire onto him, until Luigi grabbed the same sewer lid from the beginning and blocked them both, and recited what they said in their commercial.

That's when they saw a Superstar, which was a power up that could give you temporary invincibility, which Peach said in the fight from Bomb-Omb Battlefield, and they grabbed it, and survived Bowser's Fury. Cue the best action scene in the movie where Mario and Luigi grab the power stars one by one as they take out all of Bowser's army using several power ups.

But there is a sad moment where Mario had to jump off of Yoshi to grab the last one, though Yoshi was willing to do it. They grabbed them all, and they merged into one massive power star, which when they touched, gave them PURE invincibility that the brothers could activate whenever they wanted.

They took out Bowser the same way they did in the movie, and Peach fed Bowser the mini mushroom, before he was put in a jar.

Everybody in Brooklyn cheered, including Mario's family, Spike, and Francis, like in the original movie. That is until they remembered Yoshi got hurt, and they thought he was dead. Then Birdo came out of nowhere and kissed Yoshi on the nose, causing him to wake up, and Birdo became lovestruck.

Back in Peach's castle, Peach congratulated everybody who helped defeat Bowser, though she gave Mario and Luigi the most credit. Everybody from the movie was there, except the villain characters. Mario and Luigi were offered to live in the castle, and they accepted. Peach declared everyone could have some cake, until Nabbit bursted out of Peach's treasure room, and Mario and Luigi decided, yeah, let's have more adventures. Mario and Luigi ran through the Mushroom Kingdom with all their new friends, including Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, Birdo, Toad, Toadette, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Rosalina, Pauline, and many more.

The final shot is all the characters jumping in the air and looking at the viewers, before the screen turns black and we see the logo of the actual movie.

The first epilogue scene is Bowser playing Peaches on the Piano, and Toad tells him to stop, to the relief of Bowser's nine kids, Kamek, and all of Bowser's other minions. Bowser is still small and so is his piano, and they're both in a cage, but his acquaintances are their normal size, who are also in cages. Then the screen goes black and the demented Lumalee says his final line

The second epilogue scene, AKA the one after the credits, imply multiple sequels. One about Luigi's Mansion, one about Donkey Kong Country, one about Yoshi's Island, one about Warioware, one about Captain Toad, and one about MARIO KART BABY! YEE-HAW! Also the Mario RPG games, Mario Party, the Mario Sports games including Tennis and Golf, and several other movies where Mario explores the Super Mario Cinematic Universe.
