Satine had heard Obi Wan was dead a month ago. She felt lost. She went to his funeral, there was nothing in the entire galaxy that could stop Satine from going. She was mad at herself, there were so many things she could've told him and somehow she felt responsible for his death even though she wasn't even there when he died. He was shot by a bounty hunter while Satine was in Mandalore. She wasn't even close to where he was, but somehow she felt guilty for all the things she didn't do or say. She was alone for weeks, not leaving her room. Mandalore started to worry and so did Padme. Padme had heard about this from one of Satine's servants who hoped Padme could help Satine in some way. Satine was never like this and it troubled everyone. It was even on the news that the Duchess Satine Kryze wasn't having any meetings and hadn't been seen by the public at all. Everyone suspected something went wrong but only a few really knew why she wasn't alright.

During his mission two weeks ago Obi Wan Kenobi very much alive but in disguise was on a ship headed to Nal Hutta. Obi Wan checked the holos one day out of pure boredom. Scrolling through the most popular things going on in the galaxy. He suddenly stopped. 'Mandalore's Duchess not Talking' was the title of the article. Obi Wan instantly clicked on it. 'Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore not talking? The Duchess reportedly hasn't been at any meetings or seen by the public in a week.' Obi Wan's heart instantly dropped into his stomach. 'The public has no idea where she is or what she is doing' it finished. Then there were pictures of Satine a while back. Obi Wan stared at the holo. He wished he could go confort Satine. He knew that she must be going through a lot because of his death. How was he going to explain any of this? He just hoped Satine would be alright.

That was two weeks ago and Satine sat on her window sill. She was still fully dressed in a beautiful gown, with her hair down. She didn't feel like sleeping. She looked out the window into the garden. She hadn't been there in a while. She never really wore dresses that had this much volume but she had been trying to work a little more since the death of Ben. The dress she wore was white with white floral patterns on it. She really did like it to be honest. She stood walking to the door. She needed fresh air and the garden always helped her. Satine walked down the hallway looking at all the pictures on the walls. They were pictures of her and her family. It had past Dukes and Duchess'. Satine felt so small thinking about how much they impacted this world, she felt like what she was doing didn't really do much to help Mandalore. But honestly anything she thought recently made her seriously depressed. She reached the door to the garden. She hated being in a galaxy without Obi Wan and as tears threatened to fall from her eyes she walked out the door into the fresh air. It was hard to see the beauty of the garden when all Satine had witnessed her entire life was filled with death. Tears fell from her eyes and she didn't stop them. She sat on a stone bench in the middle of the garden and silently sobbed.

Obi Wan wanted to talk to her that night and was in the shadows of the gardens watching her. She looked like a white lily in the moonlight. She really was beautiful. He stood there for a second watching her cry. He felt terrible for not telling her. He had tried, he had asked the council if he could tell just one person. They immediately shot him down about it. They told him it was unnecessary. So he watched as everyone thought Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi was dead. Satine sat with her head in her hands, crying.

"Why did I have to fall in love with a Jedi?" she asked, still crying. She had no idea anyone was there. "I lost everyone I ever cared for," she whispered numbly. Obi Wan started walking towards her from behind. She didn't hear anything. He stopped a yard away.

"Satine," he said, barely above a whisper. Satine quickly turned to him. Her face shocked. She stood up and ran to him, Obi Wan held his arms open.

"I thought you were dead!" she yelled into his clothes.

"I'm so sorry, Satine," Obi Wan apologized. Satine stepped back.

"You lied to me! I-I thought you were dead!" she yelled. Obi Wan looked down. Tears were streaming down Satine's face.

"I couldn't tell you," he sighed.

"What do you mean you couldn't tell me?" Satine yelled, exasperatedly.

"It was a mission. I had to go undercover as a bounty hunter to get myself into a group but I needed to do something to gain their trust, killing Obi Wan Kenobi was the only thing that would work," he replied.

"I thought you were dead, Obi Wan! This is ridiculous!" She turned to leave but Obi Wan caught her hand. "Don't you dare start talking to me about how it was your duty," she scoffed.

"I didn't have a choice," he defended.

"Yeah, like I didn't have a choice in falling in love with a Jedi!" she shot back, walking away.

"Satine!"

"Why don't you just play dead longer?!" she yelled not looking at him still.

"That's not fair and you know it! I'm not leaving until we can talk about this like civilized people," he called. Satine spun around. "Please, yell at me or let me explain but please don't walk away," he finished.

"Fine," she crossed her arms.

"Are you going to yell at me?" he asked.

"You go missing for weeks! Weeks Obi Wan, I never question it because it's your duty. You run into fire trying to save people and I never say anything. But this, this is cruel! Faking your death, Obi Wan," she yelled, ignoring him.

"I'm so so sorry, I can't imagine what you went through," he said, regretfully.

"You can't imagine?! Let me tell you then. Padme told me you died. Try to understand that, General Kenobi!" she yelled, using his title to hurt him. "I thought you were dead! I went to your funeral! You tricked everyone into thinking Obi Wan Kenobi was dead! I had to play sick because no one could know I care! All of Mandalore didn't see me for weeks. There were articles on the holos about Where I could be or what had happened to me!"

"I saw them," he replied in a small voice.

"Did you not even care?!"

"I did,"

"So you never thought to at least call me and tell me it was alright and that you were alive and not shot by a bounty hunter!"

"Satine,-" he tried to say.

"Don't Satine me," she snapped angrily. "Everyone thought you were dead!"

"I was the bounty hunter!" he yelled.

"What?!" she looked at him.

"I was shot by that bounty hunter and fell off a five story building! I was brought to the Jedi temple. They injected me with something that made me look like that bounty hunter so I could go brag that I killed Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi! I had to live in a prison and become acquainted with criminals who killed Jedi I know. I had to be a bounty hunter!"

Satine didn't know what to say so she walked off further into the garden. "Satine!" Obi Wan yelled.

"Just because you have apologized doesn't take away any pain, Obi Wan!" she didn't look at him. She walked by all the flowers and plants with tears streaming down her face. She could hear Obi Wan run to catch up. Satine wrapped her arms around herself. Obi Wan walked next to her.

"Satine, please just give me a chance," he pleaded.

"A chance for what?" she snapped. "You know fixing our relationship does absolutely nothing! You'll go back to the Jedi to play poster boy for them! And constantly tell me that you can't have attachments so our relationship really doesn't have a point! It's just a constant cycle of our love hurting me!" she yelled.

"Satine, there is a point," he whispered.

"Then tell me, General Kenobi." she scoffed.

"Because our love is the only thing that keeps me going during this war. Our love is what I fight for, even if we can't really be together. I can't do what I'm supposed to do if our relationship isn't working, even as friends," he replied. "Will you at least look at me?" he asked. She looked up.

"But our relationship fixed doesn't mean anything for me, besides pain," she said bitterly. "Maybe we could have worked in another galaxy but in this one we can't. Maybe we should just stop hurting each other. Neither of us have broken the cycle yet so I will; I'm done Obi Wan," she sobbed. Obi Wan stood there as Satine walked on.

"Satine!" he yelled at her. She turned towards him.

"Obi Wan, our relationship may do something for you but I really can't take this anymore," she said, tears streaming down her face. "Maybe a break might work but I can't take all this right now,"

"I understand,"

"I'm sorry," she whispered as she turned and kept walking. Obi Wan walked off. Satine really was a mess and Obi Wan didn't plan on talking to Satine. She needed time to process and honestly he did too. Even though he wanted to run after her and try to get her to change her mind she needed time to think. He would accept that. Satine didn't talk to him for months until one day when she called him. They both talked and decided that ending everything forever wasn't the only path they could take. They both agreed maybe after the war they could actually be together. But duty comes first and over the next few months they fixed their relationship. Obi Wan knew Satine was still hurt by being kept in the dark but they both figured things out.
