FOREWORD

The mission entrusted by the guild failed...

The power of the Zeus and Hera families was not enough to overcome the calamity of the dungeon.

The Dragon finished off both families brutally...

XXXXX

Zeus was exiting his headquarters through a secret passageway that connected to the outside of Orario.

On his way, he was thinking about the recent events that had occurred...

The news of how his family had died in the fight with that dragon hurt him a lot, he felt like crying, something he rarely did.

But he had to be strong, he already assumed that the mission was going to fail so he stood firm, the son of his favorite dependent still needed him.

He kept walking until he reached the outskirts of Orario where Hermes, Hera and Meteria were waiting for his arrival.

— So this is goodbye old friend, I hope you're doing well – Spoke the traveling God resting his hand on his friend's shoulder, his tone of voice was muffled and his face looked sad.

— Thanks for the help, Hermes – Zeus hugged his friend goodbye.

— Don't worry...

— Zeus, let's go – Said Hera who was getting into a carriage with two horses with Meteria in her arms.

— It's ok...

Hermes left the place and the God of lightning also got into the chariot, he was going to drive it himself.

XXXXX

It had been 3 days since the Gods and the dependent had started their journey, in which they thought a lot.

Meteria was still in pain that her love had died, Hera cried a lot when she found out that her family had died.

Zeus stood firm...

— Here we are.

The God got out of the carriage, opening the door for his wife and her attendant.

They stopped in front of a house, it was common and had two floors, nothing big, but it had enough space.

Hera lowered Meteria's wheelchair from the carriage in order to transport her, when she finished lowering the chair she lowered her "daughter" from the carriage.

The 3 present entered the house, which was already furnished with everything they needed, from furniture to stock food on the shelves.

— AH UF! AH UF!

Hera's last dependent was already giving birth.

It had been 2 days since they arrived at their new home and Meteria's water broke.

— Calm down daughter, everything will be alright, everything will be alright – The Goddess tried to reassure her daughter, she had her hand together with hers, Meteria was putting a lot of pressure on her hand.

Zeus was watching from afar as a nurse helped Meteria to push, the God remained serious at all times.

— UAH UAH UAH – The sound of a baby crying was heard in the room.

The lightning God stood up and went to his "grandson".

— Congratulations, on a boy – The nurse spoke calmly.

Meteria watched everything with a faint smile, the birth left her very affected...

Pass me my baby – Asked the now mother.

The nurse who was holding the newborn in her arms, who was wrapped in a towel, obeyed the mother's request.

Meteria gladly received her baby and he stopped crying, she looked at him with eyes full of love.

My child – She whispered – I know you will be strong, I'm sorry, I can't stay with you – She finished speaking to her son with her eyes closing.

— Meteria? – Hera was confused to see her dependent closing her eyes with the baby in her arms.

But just at that moment... there came a pain in her chest.

— UH?! Meteria?! METERIA PLEASE ANSWER – The desperation could be heard in his voice from afar.

Zeus was left in shock without being able to do anything...

XXXXX

— I'm sorry Zeus, I really am, but I... I can't go on anymore.

Hera spoke to Zeus on a hill, the latter holding the baby of the already deceased mother in his arms.

— It's okay Hera... I understand your decision.

The God was also depressed, but he had to be strong and he knew it.

— So, this is goodbye.

— ...

Hera went back to the Tenkai (Heaven).

XXXXX

It had been quite some time since Hera had returned to heaven.

Zeus was taking care of the baby whose name was Bell Cranel, a name that was thought up by Meteria before her passing.

Parenting had been difficult, he wasn't the best father in the world, and he knew next to nothing about caring for babies.

His cooking was pitiful, much to little Bell's misfortune...

But finally, after the boy turned 7, Zeus opted for something…

The sunset was beautiful, God and grandson were sitting outside their cabin, appreciating the scenery.

The winds were blowing refreshingly and giving a very soothing atmosphere, it was then that Zeus decided to speak.

— Bell, my grandson.

— Uh? What's wrong grandfather? – Confused.

— Bell, I've made a decision that will improve your life, I've decided to send you to school – Zeus spoke in a calm voice.

— School? – Curious.

— Yes Bell, school, it's a place where you learn many things, meet other children who can become your friends and have a good time, a place where you can develop yourself even more – Explained the God, with a smile and stroking Bell's hair.

— EH?! Really?! Awesome grandpa! Sounds like a lot of fun hehe - The little boy said - I would also like to learn a lot! – With a smile.

— I'm glad you like the idea.

— And when do I start going? – Excited.

— Umm, I reckon in a week, on Monday you start going, in the meantime, go get ready grandson.

— All right!

The days went by, and Bell was very excited to go to school, he was practicing with Zeus how to socialize a little, because he was shy.

The day of Bell's admission arrived, he had with him in a backpack a notebook with everything he needed to go to school, and clearly his lunch box.

— Goodbye Grandpa!

— Goodbye Bell! Conquer many girls! – Funny.

— DON'T BE SILLY! – Bell shouted in nervous response, running inside the school.

Which by the way was an elementary school, included everything a little boy needed, located in a valley.

— Good morning children! – A young lady, apparently the teacher, a brown-haired woman with a common appearance, greeted the children.

— Good morning teacher! – All the children present returned the greeting with encouragement, including Bell.

The teacher began to introduce herself, progressively the children did too, some being more expressive than others or making themselves more known.

Until it was Bell's turn.

— Um, okay - He nodded a little nervously – G-Good morning kids, m-my name is B-Bell Cranel – Bowing slightly.

The other kids looked at him with confusion, but there were a few who giggled slightly, which embarrassed Bell.

— Children, children, it's not nice to make fun of your classmate – The teacher said, realizing the situation.

The children who laughed just nodded.

— Go on Bell, tell us a little more about yourself – The teacher spoke again.

— Y-yes.

Bell went on talking about herself, telling about her likes and dislikes, such as hero stories or playing with animals.

When the introductions were over everyone sat down to begin class.

*Clink* *Clink* *Clink*

Recess time had arrived.

Everyone had gone out into the courtyard, eating their lunchboxes or lunches.

Bell had gone out into the schoolyard to eat in a somewhat secluded spot because he was still a bit shy.

*Tap* *Tap*

Something or someone had tapped the little rabbit's shoulder, to which the confused little rabbit decided to turn around, finding a picture that he said was "very cute".

A girl who appeared to be of a similar age to you.

She was wearing a thin white dress with purple ribbons, carrying her lunch box and a bright sun hat.

Bell's heart had skipped a beat at the sight.

— Uh?

— Oh! Hello Bell-kun! – The girl greeted cheerfully.

The little boy was confused at this sudden greeting, after all, when you talk to someone you don't know first you introduce yourself.

She tilted her head slightly to her right when she saw that Bell didn't answer.

— Right! My name is Sara! I'm your classmate Bell-san – Introducing herself with a slight bow Sara answered Bell's doubts.

— Sara-san?

That name she had heard in the classroom introductions, she remembered very few names from that moment.

— H-hello – He greeted nervously – I don't think I need to introduce myself...

— You are right! After all, I know all the names of our classmates by heart! – She replied cheerfully.

— ...

— Do you want to help me Bell-kun? It would be very exciting for all of us to be good friends!

Sara put her lunch box aside and took Bell's hands, making him get up from his seat.

— Eh?! – Bell was surprised by the sudden request.

"Sara-san is very friendly" It was what went through his mind, the desire to have many friends was something very typical of children, and Bell was no exception.

The problem was that she clearly didn't know how to socialize very well.

— Yes! I can help you Sara-san – Bell answered with a smile.

It wasn't going to be easy for him to make friends, but with the help of his new friendship he might just be able to do it.

— Hehe – Happy.

The little ones sat back down, both wanting to finish eating before they started socializing.

— I heard you like hero stories Bell-kun.

— Yes, it's something I've always liked.

Bell cringed a bit at the comment, his fondness for heroes wasn't something he could talk to just anyone about.

— That's great! I like them too, they're awesome! – She replied cheerfully.

— Eh?! Really?!

— Yes! One of my favorite stories is the Argonaut story! – Sara declared proudly.

Bell was surprised by this, then excited.

She had never before encountered someone with her same taste in heroes other than her grandfather.

But now he had someone to talk to about it, and it gladdened him greatly.

Thus the two little ones spent the recess, talking of countless tales.

They were so absorbed in their conversation that they had completely forgotten their main purpose.

So they put it off until the next recess tomorrow.

They went their separate ways on the way out and Bell headed home with his grandfather.

— Haha!

— What are you laughing at, Grandpa? – Bell asked tenderly in confusion.

— You didn't waste any time and started flirting, did you? Worthy grandson of mine! – He spoke remembering the interaction he saw between the two little ones.

— EEEH?! – He shouted blushing - What are you saying grandfather!

— HAHAHAHA

Zeus kept teasing Bell the rest of the day.

The following day

Bell was again at recess at her school while waiting for Sara.

So, the basics of everything is knowing how to multiply?

Those were her thoughts, reviewing her learning for the day.

— HEY!

— Sara-san!

They both greeted each other by raising their hands slightly, ready to start the "Everyone's friends" plan.

They went all around the courtyard, chatting animatedly with all the children in their classroom they encountered, especially Sara, who was the extrovert of the plan.

Some were surprised by the sudden appearance of the two, but they were very pleasant to them.

Recess was almost over, and they had finished talking and introducing themselves to the whole class.

But someone was missing...

A boy with messy black hair who had a tired face.

His clothes looked a bit worn, wearing a gray polo shirt with short sleeves, black pants and dark brown shoes.

They approached him slowly to talk.

— Hello?

Sara paced up to the boy until she reached him and touched his shoulder, surprising the infant.

He turned around and there he saw the two little ones, looking at him with curiosity.

Sometimes I don't know what to do...

Mom is getting worse and worse, her health is deteriorating little by little.

I feel bad for her, but I can't do anything no matter how much I want to, the only thing I can do is cry and lament about how things are.

But in spite of all this, she makes her effort so that I can come here and get away from her.

Since dad died she hasn't been the same, she really loved him.

That's why I almost never get to see her, she blames me for dad's death, he died protecting me from an assault by monsters.

Deep down, she still loves me, or at least that's what she told me before she fell into madness and left me at grandma's house.

When I went home once, after dad had recently died, escaping from my new home, I found her.

She was angry, sad and depressed, I saw her breaking many things in the house.

I don't know what was wrong, I wanted to go in to help and comfort her, so I did.

Big mistake...

I remember perfectly how she hit me in the face and I ran away terrified towards grandma's house, crying like the child I was.

Until now I don't know how to solve this, I promise I will heal you, mom.

— Hello?

Snapping out of my thoughts, I turned to look at the voice behind me.

I could see two classmates, a girl and a boy.

The first was beautiful to my eyes, and the second seemed kind.

I was not mistaken.

I knew from the moment I started talking to them, they were going to be my best friends.

My mother's illness may have affected me a lot, but before Dad died she gave me a lot of love.

And the good child she formed is still present, she hasn't died yet.

Grandma always tries to cheer me up, I really appreciate it, thanks to her and the good memories I am still standing.

Bell-san with her nice charisma, Sara-san with her cheerfulness and positivity.

I made friends, mom!

Days, weeks and even months went by.

Bell went on with his life as normal, now a school-going boy.

His relationship with Sara and his now friend named Han had improved quite a bit.

He was one of the top students in his classroom thanks to his quick learning, a small sign of his great potential.

Zeus was proud of little Bell, mainly because of his friendship with his friend, and if he kept instructing him "Bell will go the way of the hero!" thought the old man.

— Grandpa, why do you have such a silly face? – Confused.

— HUH?! It's nothing Bell, you just follow the hero's path.

— And what is that path? – he asked excitedly.

— THE HAREEEEM! – Zeus shouted with amusement

— Oh... what? – Bell became even more confused.

After a little grandson and grandfather talk, the little boy went to his school to meet his friends again.

In the last 2 months they had gotten to know each other better, Han became a little more open with them but Bell noticed that he was still still insecure.

*Knock knock*

The sound of wood being knocked echoed through the cabin's living room, Zeus wondered why Bell had returned so early from school.

But it wasn't Bell who was knocking

At a somewhat slow pace he went to the door to open it, and what he found was nothing to his liking.

His face became extremely serious and his aura became more intimidating.

Before him stood the God Thanatos, the leader of the organization called Evilus.

The one who caused Orario to enter the Dark Age.

His faithful friend Hermes kept him informed about what was happening in the city since he left there.

The most important thing to know was that since his and Hera's family had fallen Evilus came out of the shadows to spread terror and misfortune in Orario.

Hearing Hermes' accounts of what had happened only fueled something in Zeus, his motivation to continue cultivating a Hero.

Bell was the hope of this world, he was the one who was to be the Hero of the age of the gods, Zeus knew this.

Telling him stories, talking about those who were the strongest mortals before the coming of the gods.

Doing all that to make Bell's soul that of a true Hero.

Zeus knew it, the little boy had everything he needed, his potential was limitless.

He would continue to grow him without a Falna until he was truly ready and let him start on his own path.

But that was not the issue now

Thanatos stood in front of him, with his disgusting grin he remembered.

— Hello Zeus~, long time no see – The ghoulish God greeted.

— ...

— How cold! Not even a word for returning to an old friend – He said feigning sadness.

Zeus was getting angrier and angrier by the presence of the God of death, as the forger of the last hero it was normal that his presence bothered him.

— What do you want? Thanatos – He asked with a very cold, threatening tone.

— Ohoho! That's a good question, what am I looking for here? – He asked himself - I just want to chat Zeus - He answered with a "friendly" smile.

— I don't want you in my home, make yourself scarce from here if you don't want me to send you to the Tenkai – Threatened the God of Thunder.

— Nonono Zeus, you are in no position to say that – He declared with amusement – You don't want anything to happen to Bell-chan, do you?

Zeus' face turned pale upon hearing such a reply...

"Bell! How does this motherfucker know about Bell?" Were his thoughts.

His back was against the wall, so he had no choice but to agree to let Thanatos pass.

When the Gods passed, they sat down on the couches in the star room.

— How do you know about Bell?! – Zeus asked angrily, whipping his hands on the wooden table that separated the two pieces of furniture.

— I've been watching you from afar Zeus~ – Thanatos stated with amusement – Ever since I heard about your escape from Orario to avoid being banished, 2 days later to be more exact! I sent my subordinates to look for you.

The God's revelation left Zeus shocked, this was unbelievable.

— I could not leave you unattended, you are dangerous – Said Thanatos – And now I find out that you are raising a child, there must be something behind that.

— ...

Zeus was thinking about what to answer, if he did not choose his words well he would reveal other information, and that would harm Bell.

— He is the son of one of my deceased dependents, I am taking care of him because I could not just leave him to his fate – He spoke with a serious tone.

— Oh I see, you're not raising a child to be a hero who is capable of anything, are you?

— ...

His patience was exhausted.

The God of Thunder slammed his hands against the small table that separated him from Thanatos and stood up.

His eyes radiated fury, Thanatos was already messing with the wrong person.

Ready to unleash his arcanum, kill that fucker and anyone else who might harm Bell, even if he had to return to heaven.

— Let me help you with his development, Zeus – He spoke with a seriousness unbecoming of him.

— ¡¿?!

— You can't do it alone, if you leave him in charge, I could train him – He proposed returning to his usual tone of voice – Revis-chan can make him stronger, the methods to do it are questionable but the results are effective hehe.

— YOU'RE CRAZY YOU SICK BASTARD! I wouldn't leave Bell with someone like you, the only thing you'll do is break his mind! – Angry.

Thanatos looked Zeus in the eye, and with a twitch of his lips whispered.

— Well, it's too late now~

— ¡¿?!

A powerful presence suddenly burst into the hut.

Stepping through the rubble it had created, Revis pulled out a great sword that was made in the dungeon and pointed it at Zeus.

The God of thunder had no time to react, Revis charged straight at him in cold blood. Not caring about anything, not even that he was a God.

— GHHK?!

A powerful pillar of light immediately shot down towards Zeus after he received a cut on his neck.

It was returning to the sky to prevent him from dying.

— Sorry Zeus~, but I need someone I can forge to my liking to have my personal warrior – Mocking.

This was his plan all along.

Bell was his target, a person who a strong and pure will. Someone perfect to corrupt and make him a killing machine.

— Now, I will pick him up from his school.

He left that place, walking slowly with the reptilian woman following him.

XXXXX

Through the window of his seat, Bell saw something very striking in the distance.

A great pillar of light descended from the heavens toward an unknown location.

An unknown place? The little boy realized after a few seconds that this was approximately where his home was.

His other companions went to see what was happening, and what they saw shocked them.

— A God was sent to Heaven?! – One of them shouted.

— It can't be! – The teacher was also surprised.

"What?" was Bell's thought.

He couldn't react, he didn't know what to do. Her head was filled with many doubts and few answers.

What bothered him the most was that that pillar of light had gone towards his house, he didn't know why.

What God would have gone to his house? An acquaintance of his grandfather? His grandfather wanted to kill a God?!

That last question echoed in his head, but it was impossible.

— AAAHH!

His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a scream in the distance.

He looked away from the window and I could see an injured person and a... goblin.

"Oh no..."

A little ways away was Thanatos, though Bell couldn't see him.

He was approaching in stride along with Revis and a stampede of monsters he'd sent for himself.

He would be sure to corrupt and blackmail Bell from the start.

"The interesting part starts now hehe~"

XXXXX

— Ch-children! Get out of this place! – The teacher gave the order as soon as she saw more monsters arrive.

The frightened little ones started running, ready to get out of there.

But Bell still didn't move, she didn't know what to do.

— Bell! Let's go! – Sara pulled him out of his daze, tugging on his hand to get him out of there.

He followed her without taking his eyes off the window until they were out of the room.

Han joined them, bringing with him three daggers of a low quality for each of them.

They were not going to ask why he had them now, the important thing was simply to survive and have something to defend themselves with.

When they left the school itself, the situation was terribly unfortunate.

The monsters were already close to the place.

Goblins were stalking children and people, who could not defend themselves because they had no skirt.

Two adults had a horrible time taking down a single goblin. The children did not know what to do and just let themselves be harmed.

Hellhounds brought from the very dungeon set fire to everything in their path, the trees were the most affected.

The small group of three was paralyzed.

— I-I'm shaking? – Bell wondered fearfully, gripping the hilt of the dagger tighter and tighter in his hands.

Hero stories often told stories of this sort, where all was chaos and calamity, but a hero always came along to save everyone.

But the hero has not arrived

— Grrr

A grunt sounded next to them.

A goblin had them in its sights, with eyes that were bloodthirsty.

Bell's mind was trying to react, the pile of emotions was getting to him.

He didn't know how to cope with the situation, his mind and emotions were in total disarray.

The goblin had already lunged towards them.

"No, no, no, no, no, NO!"

And with all his willpower he slashed at it at the last moment.

He was looking down, gritting his teeth tightly.

Lifting his head, his eyes now held other emotions.

He was now more confident, his strength increased a little, and his mind was no longer so out of sync with his body.

Something was making him react to the situation, as if his mind was splitting and generating one more worker.

But he was still the same, the turning point had not yet arrived.

— GHHHAA!

He continued attacking goblins left and right, without stopping.

Defending more than anything else his helpless companions who had not yet perished.

Taking advantage of the fact that the goblins were distracted with their prey, and having to use his whole body to kill the Hellhounds as they were very powerful.

Han and Sara, seeing what Bell was doing, gathered all their determination to try to help him.

They served as a distraction for the monsters while Bell attacked from behind.

When it seemed they had finally put an end to the massacre.

— Well done! Well done!

Someone appeared from the shadows.

A man looking very suspicious and intimidating for a child.

— Hehe~
