Transformers Chronobots
Chapter 1
The Edge of Time
So, I had this thought when I first got in to the comic series Exiles (The X-Men series. Not the Transformers book.) and I figured I'd finally give it a shot. Not much else to say so... Let's kick it up!
A red eye shot open on a deserted planet.
"Wh-where... am I?" The red eyed being, blue and black raptor with bronze accents on his scales and white feathers asked as he stood up, shaking slightly as he did before looking over to a small puddle to see his face. "My body it has reformatted. I feel... stronger. But can I still..." He began to ask before closing his eyes and focusing before his body began shifting before taking a humanoid form with blue metal skin, black armor over his ribs and limbs, bronze shoulder pads, a sword hilt coming out of his tail which had moved to his left hip, and black and bronze curved helmet.
"You there!" The reptilian robot heard before he looked to see a jet with a red center, tinted black cockpit, blue wings, white thrusters and bronze turbines inside its smaller back wings which then transformed in to a robot form with the back wings forming the legs, the front wings moving to the back the cockpit forming to the torso as white arms folded from the side and a squared black and silver head with orange eyes came up.
"Are you the one who brought me here?" The raptor robot asked as he reached for the sword hilt.
"I was about to ask you just the same." The jet robot said, his left wing folding a forward as a hilt came from the bottom. "I awoke not not far from here with my memories blurred of recent events. I assume that the same could be said for you." He said.
The two robots, able to see how the other carried themselves where quick to see that the other was not their enemy and took their hands away from their weapons before suddenly a large green orb appeared in the sky.
"A call for help or perhaps a challenge?" The raptor robot asked.
"There's only one way to find out." The jet robot replied before he transformed back in to his alternate form and began to fly, his newfound companion taking his beast form and began running at impossible speeds behind him.
After a decent bit of travel. The orb was approached first by the jet and raptor robots and then by a large black pickup truck with red chrome parts along side a red muscle car with bull horns on the front of the hood and purple crack like patterns on the door, then finally by a purple sports car with the windshield and windows connected together and, fans inside the grill, a solar panel roof, and a black and gold motorcycle. Once all of them had gathered, each of them transformed one by one.
The truck took on a heavily armored blue eyed from, his joints, and shoulders covered by heavy dark red padding.
The muscle car took a body with a horned helmet, a scar over his right eye which unlike the left blue one was purple purple cracks over some of his silver skin, and a weld line over his waist.
The bike took a thin form with black and gold armor and a squared helmet with what could best be described as blue sunglasses over his eyes.
Finally, the sports car took a purple armored silver skinned female form with gold eyes, the solar panel forming shoulder pads and hip pads, and shoulder length cables coming out of the back of her helmet.
"It would appear. That we were not the only ones summoned." The jet robot whispered.
"We should be ready for battle in the event any of them attack." The raptor robot whispered back to his companion.
"I assure you that will not be necessary." A regal voice said from above the six robots before they looked up to see the orb lower to them to reveal a blue skinned robot with gold accents on his white armor blue wings, burgundy armor in the thinner points and a burgundy helmet, his entire having a sort of clockwork design. "Greetings. I am Vector Prime." He greeted to the surprise of the others except for the bike robot.
"One of the original thirteen?" The truck robot asked in shock.
"Original thirteen?" The bike robot asked.
"Ah yes. Our story was forgotten in your timeline, Prowl. But that story may wait. For now, to the reason you have all been gathered here. I require your aid." Vector said, gaining confused looks from several of the others.
"Why would one as powerful as you require our aid?" The raptor robot asked.
"Sadly after my most recent battle outside of the outer zone, I am currently unable to make my way in to the other timelines. Therefore I require a team to go in my stead to prevent crises across the multiverse." Vector informed the group.
"The does beg the question though. Why us?" The horned robot asked.
"It's because we are all dead." The raptor robot replied as the others looked to him. "Think about it. Both of us woke up, reformatted, with our most recent memories clouded and I presume that the rest of you can say the same." He said, gaining a nod from Vector.
"Dinobot is correct. One of the factors in your selection was the fact that you were all near your end. But also due to the noble nature of each of your sparks." Vector said before looking to each one and telling their stories.
Dinobot was a warrior born and raised. His thirst for battle was sated and tempered when he joined with the heroes of his time, the Maximals. However, when he discovered the war that they and their enemies, the Predacons risked causing a ripple in time that would risk the very fabric of the universe itself, he knew there was nothing else he could do. He went alone to face the Predacons, doing as much damage as he could to give his comrades a chance to save the innocents. He knew it would kill him. But it was what had to be done.
The horned robot, Cliffjumper, would have and had weathered, storms, war zones, and hoards of enemies in order to protect his friends. His devotion to this cause is what allowed him after being slain by the Decepticons of his time and forcibly revived by the blood of Unicron, to fight through the corruption as best as he could to get one last attack in on the Cons and allow his friends to put him down.
Prowl had once been a simple thief, out for nobody but himself until the day he met the ninja master, Yoketron. Through the teachings of his master, a love of life was instilled in Prowl and through that, he found the courage to face impossible odds against seemingly unstoppable foe, defeat the bot who had destroyed his master, and ultimately, to give his own spark in order reform the Allspark of his timeline and reform it in to the Matrix of Leadership.
The truck robot, Ironhide was the embodiment of a loyal soldier and even more so of a loyal friend. When his leader was destroyed, he took every risk he had to in order get him back. He deserved a much more noble end than the one he had been given, slain by the insane former leader of the Autobots.
The sports car robot, Solarwind, while valuing the power of the mind more than anything and preferring to create rather than destroy was also one of the most formidable fighters among her team. However even her powerful mind couldn't see the betrayal of one of her comrades coming nor could she have ever predicted that traitor's manipulation to have caused her sparkmate to become the scapegoat for his plans and lead to her being killed by him.
Finally, Starscream, a name that brought surprise to the faces of most of the group. He had began his journey as a loyal member of the Decepticon cause, however, that loyalty was broken by both there betrayal and his bond with the Minicons and with the human allies of his timeline's Autobots. Eventually though, he saw the need for the two sides to stand against the dark god, Unicron. This need lead him to his final confrontation with the Decepticon leader, Galvatron, a battle he knew he would lose. But a battle which put him in the position to unite both sides by attacking Unicron, an attack he new would lead to the unity of the two sides by way of his own death.
"Okay. Now that we know each other's stories. What's this about crises in the multiverse?" Solarwind asked.
"There are times when there are rips in the multiverse. These rips have been occurring more and more frequently. Ordinarily harmless but if someone were to pass through and end up in the wrong time or world..." The others didn't need Vector to finish for his point to be well made. Each one of them then nodded
"Alright. So, what are we gonna need for this?" Ironhide asked.
"The first thing you will require is a base. A mobile one to be precise." Vector said before raising his hand as curved white star ship broke through the clouds.
"The Axalon?" Starscream asked, recognizing it as the ship that his Autobot allies had used.
"Yes and no, I had the Axalon scanned to serve as his Alt Mode." Vector explained before the ship transformed in to a colossal robot with red eyes, gold skin, and a black helmet.
"Metroplex?" Cliffjumper asked in shock as the robot took a knee.
"Cliffjumper. It is good to see you, my friend." Metroplex said before he and Cliffjumper nodded to each other, Vector smiling at the reunion.
"There is but one more you shall need before beginning your work. Starscream I am well aware of your preference for working with a partner." Vector said before letting out his hand as a green plate with a blue symbol appeared before floating to the jet robot.
Upon activating the plate, a small pillar of light rose up before a silver and black robot around the size of a young human with front facing wings, a red visor and, purple arms appeared from it before making several peeping noises while respectfully bowing his head.
"The honor is all mine, Thunderclash." Starscream said with a smile as he mirrored the gesture in respect to the Minicon.
'Definitely not the Starscream I know.' Cliffjumper, Prowl, Ironhide, and Dinobot all thought.
"I sense a rift is opening." Vector said before allowing his hand to glow gold before gold pattern of resembling his with clock gear designs in the eyes and the cleft of the chin. appeared on the bodies of the group. Vector then lowered his hands said to them "I believe each of you has heard a variation of this phrase before. Chronobots. Roll out!"
Well there you go, guys. I really hope you enjoyed the opening of this story. I really hope this one takes off. Anyway, next time, the Chronobots face their first mission together. Until then and as always... Keep on keeping on.
