Act Six

(The story continues with the Astrocar floating out of a hole in the ceiling and out of the hole in the roof of Jimmy's clubhouse. We cut inside the vehicle where we see Jimmy in the driver's seat while Carl, Sheen, Cindy, and Libby are all sitting in the back. Carl looks around, confused, while Sheen, Cindy, and Libby are anxious.)

Carl: Uh, Jimmy, ( looks at Jimmy) why are we flying AWAY from your lab?

Jimmy: (doesn't look away from dashboard) Because, if we enter the Quantum Dimension from out here, (cut outside Astrocar) we'll be approximately 30 ft. directly in front of the rupture.

Carl: (confused) Okay…

Jimmy: (turns around) Fasten your seatbelts, everybody. (turns away) It's gonna be a bumpy ride.

(Everybody fastens their seatbelts while Jimmy inserts the laser on his Shrink Ray inside a slot on the dashboard; Jimmy presses a button and a small dome right next to it starts to glow blue)

Jimmy: (turns around) Is everybody ready?

(Everybody says yes in individual ways)

Jimmy: (turns away) Alright. Going quantum in 5... (Carl, Sheen, Cindy, and Libby grab the edges of their seats) 4...(Goddard crawls back a little, whining) 3.,. (looks down at Shrink Ray controls, raises finger) 2… (switches setting to "quantum size") 1!

(Jimmy presses the button. The dome on the dashboard starts to glow brighter. Outside, several purple electrical charges surround the Astrocar and the vehicle shrinks and disappears in a blinding flash of white light. The Astrocar continues to get smaller as everyone inside starts shaking violently. Suddenly, a lavender-tinted ring of energy appears right outside the windshield.)

Jimmy: Approaching Subatomic Barrier in 3… 2... 1!

(The Astrocar rams into the ring of energy, jerking violently frontward, flinging everyone out of their seats; Carl hits his head on the roof and falls face first on the floor. A bright white light flashes all around and everything is calm. Outside, the Astrocar is floating in a humongous purple void with many dark purple beams of energy flowing downward and fewer, bigger, even darker purple beams of energy flowing also. Inside, everyone starts coming. Carl lifts his face up; his glasses are crooked)

Carl: (dazed, confused) Mommy, that mustache is very becoming.

(Sheen helps Carl to his feet as Cindy, Libby, and them walk to the front)

Jimmy: (looks at everyone around him) Ladies and gentlemen, (looks at Cindy) and Cindy, (Cindy giggles) welcome to the Quantum Dimension, where I harness the energy used by my Shrink Ray to alter the mass of a given object.

Carl : (looks out left window) Wow. It's so pretty.

Sheen: (looks over Carl's shoulder) And purple.

(Libby looks out of the right window and sees a huge, light purple, transparent wave of energy hurtling toward the Astrocar at an incredible speed)

Libby: (startled) Jimmy! What are those?!

Jimmy: (looks out right window) Oh, those are probability waves; they're an essential component to the creation of barriers between quantum realities.

(The wave washes over the Astrocar, rocking it very roughly. Everyone struggles to maintain their balance)

Jimmy: Foooortuunatly,... (regains balance) me and my counterpart sprayed the hull with a coat of anti-probability paint or else these would unhinge our connection to our home reality and we'd have no way to return. Now, (grabs steering wheel, serious) to find that rupture.

(The Astrocar starts driving straight forward)

Carl: So, what does the rupture look like?

Jimmy: Well, it should bear some resemblance to a wormhole, only it's more funnel-shaped.

Sheen: (lurches in front of Jimmy, points out windshield) You mean something like that?!

(Everyone looks outside the windshield and sees a huge, purple, swirling cone directly ahead. Everyone is awestruck)

Jimmy: It's-a lot-bigger than I imagined.

Cindy: (shocked) Bigger.

Jimmy: But (climbs out of seat) we've got no time to worry about that now. (looks at goddard, points) Goddard, anti-probability suit.

(Goddard barks; he opens his back and out rises a gray, spandex suit with a clear mask in the front. We transition a few minutes later, where we see Jimmy outside the Astrocar, tying off a tether cord on the hull. Inside, Carl presses a button on the dashboard and trying talking into a microphone to Jimmy)

Carl: Um,... Jimmy. Come in, Jimmy.

Sheen: (butts in) Can you hear us?! Over.

Jimmy: Jimmy to Team Neutron. (everybody smiles at each other) I read you guys loud and clear. (cut to Jimmy) I'm about to approach the rupture as closely as possible without getting sucked in.

Libby: (over microphone) Well, good luck, Jimmy.

Cindy: (over microphone) And be careful!

Jimmy: (smiles) I will be. Thanks.

(Jimmy pushes himself away from the Astro car and floats backwards. he slowly turns around and faces the rupture; as the tether cord becomes taut, Jimmy pulls out the Quantum Replay and the Ultra Crystal. he places the Ultra Crystal at the top of the Quantum Replay, Causing several purple electrical charges to surround the device as it doubles in size. Jimmy is stunned)

Jimmy: Whoa!

Libby: (cut to inside Astrocar) What is it Jimmy?

Jimmy: (over microphone) I think the Ultra Crystal upgraded the Quantum Replay; it's doubled in size!

(Jimmy points the Quantum Replay at the rupture. He starts turning a knob at the bottom of the device counterclockwise and a beam of gray rings shoots out and bounces off of the rupture. After a few seconds, Jimmy stops, devastated)

Jimmy: (frustrated) Gas Planet!

Carl: (cut inside Astrocar, worried) What is it, Jimmy?

Jimmy: (cut to Jimmy) Even with the Ultra Crystal powering it, there's too much temporal energy moving the rupture forward in time for the Quantum Replay to turn it back.

Sheen: (cut inside Astrocar) Well, what are you going to do?

Jimmy: (cut to Jimmy; pauses, looks at rupture) Cindy? I'm going to have to take a rain check on our date.

Cindy: (over microphone, concerned) Why?

Jimmy: (pauses) I'm going to have to close the rupture from the inside.

Cindy: (cut inside Astrocar, devastated) What?! Jimmy! No! If you do that, you'll get trapped in the space between realities!

Carl, Sheen, and Libby: (startled) WHAT?!

Jimmy: (cut to Jimmy) I know, but I have no choice; if we don't fix this while we can, Retroville could get decimated or worse! Cindy, I just want you to know: ever since I laid my eyes on you, even when I was putting on my act,... I love you.

(Jimmy unhooks his tether cord and starts floating closer to the rupture, until he is sucked in. Cindy is frightened out of her wits)

Cindy: (pushes face against window) NOOOOO! (turns to Goddard) Goddard. Give me another anti-probability suit! Fast!

(Goddard barks and pulls another anti-probability suit. Cindy throws it on and opens the airlock. Carl, Sheen, and Libby are startled)

Libby: Cindy! What are you doing?!

Cindy: I'm going after him! Goddard! Fly cycle!

(Goddard jumps out of the Astrocar and converts into a bike-like vehicle with rockets. Cindy jumps on and the 2 start flying away.)

Libby: (frightened) Cindy! Get back in here! You could get hurt!

Cindy: I can't! I can't live without him!

(Meanwhile, Jimmy is pulled along a long, dark purple tunnel. After a few seconds he sees an intersection, breaking off into four other tunnels)

Jimmy: There it is! That must be where the timelines are intersecting. (holds up Quantum Replay) Gotta time this just right…

(As Jimmy reaches the middle of the intersection, he starts rotating the knob at the bottom of the quantum replay again. we cut to outer space, with the camera and toward Earth. At that exact moment, the Earth and moon start moving backwards; we cut to Retroville, where everyone and everything, including Jimmy, Carl, Sheen, Cindy, and Libby's counterparts all start moving in reverse. We cut back to Jimmy in the intersection as he struggles to maintain everything; we cut back to Retroville where everything continues to move back. Jimmy, Retroville, Jimmy, Retroville. At that moment, Cindy and Goddard fly in)

Cindy: (point to Jimmy, shouts) There he is. Goddard, grab him!

(Goddard retracts his handles as he extends his neck and grabs the back of Jimmy's suit. Jimmy is startled as he looks behind him and sees Cindy and Goddard pull in closer, while continuing to reverse the rupture.)

Jimmy: Cindy! What are you doing?! Get out of here!

Cindy: No! Not without you!

(Jimmy pauses as he continues to rewind the rupture)

Jimmy: Goddard! Reverse! Full throttle!

(Goddard turns his rockets around and pulls back at full speed as the tunnels start to implode; back in Retroville, everything continues moving in reverse, until the wave created by the Chrono Arch retracts and the machine reassembles itself. At that moment, Jimmy, Cindy, and Goddard fly out of the rupture as it vanishes in a blinding flash of light. Carl, Sheen, and Libby all look outside at them as they float in the void, motionless; the three of them get concerned)

Libby: Jimmy! Cindy! Come in! Over! (pause; Carl and Sheen look at each other, worried) Guys, it's me, Libby! Please Respond! Over!

Jimmy: (over microphone) Jimmy to (Carl, Sheen, and Libby perk up) Team Neutron. Anyone have some ibuprofen?

(Carl, Sheen and Libby all start celebrating in the Astrocar as Jimmy looks back at Cindy lovingly)

Jimmy: Hey, Cindy. (Cindy looks at him) Thanks for coming back for me.

Cindy: Aw, it was nothing. I'm sure you would have done the same for me.

(Jimmy and Cindy stare at each other for a moment, until Libby cuts in on the microphone)

Libby: (over microphone; Jimmy and Cindy are startled) Um,... (cut to inside Astrocar) if you guys are done making googly eyes at each other, (cut back to Jimmy and Cindy) we've got one more problem to take care of.

Jimmy: She's right. Goddard! Back to the Astrocar.

(Goddard starts flying Jimmy and Cindy back to the Astrocar. We transition a few minutes later after Jimmy and Cindy have taken off their hoods and masks. Everyone buckles themselves back in)

Jimmy: We've got to get back to Retroville fast.

Sheen: How come, Jimmy?

Jimmy: (looks at Sheen) When I rewound the rupture, I also turned back time on Earth just before the Chrono Arch got struck by lightning. (turns back to dashboard) And unless we want to go through all that chaos again, we've got to get back to my lab in less than 2 minutes!

Sheen: Right!

Jimmy: (fiddles with Shrink Ray controls) Prepare for reentry!

(Jimmy presses the button. We cut to Jimmy's backyard, which looks a lot nicer than before, as the Astrocar reappears with a sonic boom. The Astrocar swoops around and lands right next to Jimmy's clubhouse. The door opens and everybody runs out into the yard.)

Jimmy: (pulls out hair, holds it up to scanner) We gotta do this quick!

(The door opens and everybody runs inside. We cut to Jimmy's lab as everyone runs through the sliding doors and starts pushing and pulling the Chrono Arch from every angle while Goddard stands by and watches. At that moment, the alarm on the computer starts going off again and the screen starts saying "Activating Automatic Lightning Rod System". Jimmy looks at the words and panics)

Jimmy: Ah! (steps back, looks at Chrono Arch) It won't budge! (looks at Goddard; looks at everyone else, gestures toward the door) Everybody out!

Cindy: Huh?! But, Neutron,-

Jimmy: Just do it! (runs behind Cindy, looks at Goddard) Goddard! Play Dead! (runs out door)

Goddard: (barks, explodes)

(The Chrono Arch and NQF-Com are both destroyed. Outside, the lightning rod rises out of the roof again and gets knocked over by a strong gust of wind. Goddard refrains from reassembling as the lightning bolt blows through the roof and floor of the clubhouse and leaves a giant hole to fix. Jimmy, Carl, Sheen, Cindy, and Libby walk back in as Goddard reassembles himself. Jimmy runs to Goddard and pets him, so relieved and happy)

Jimmy: Goddard! Good Boy!

Carl: You did it, Jimmy! You saved Retroville!

(Carl, Sheen, and Cindy start hugging and celebrating as Jimmy works at the remains of the NQF-Com. Libby walks up behind him)

Libby: So, (Jimmy looks at her) what now? Are you going to reassemble it?

Jimmy: (looks back at broken machine) No, I'm just going to use this for spare parts. I've learned my lesson for today: what happens in a quantum reality, stays in a quantum reality. (looks away) However, if Timmy or any of my other interdimensional friends need me, they know where to find me.

(We transition to the Candy Bar several hours later, where we see Carl, Sheen, and Libby walking across the parking lot in slickers, due to heavy rain)

Sheen: I still don't understand: why are we spying on Jimmy and Cindy on their date?

Libby: (looks at Sheen, walks backwards) Because, despite the way I act about it, I'm actually very supportive of their relationship, and I just want to make sure everything is okay.

(Carl and Sheen crouch below the windowsill while Libby looks through the window and sees Jimmy and Cindy in a booth with 2 umbrellas, eating dinner and laughing hysterically. Jimmy steps out for a moment and Cindy see Libby in the window, smiles, and waves; Libby waves back and crouches down with Carl and Sheen)

Libby: Everything's okay.

Sheen: That's great. Um,... Say, Libby, if you're not busy, would you like to go on a date, too?

Libby: (bumps Sheen with elbow) Well, I didn't become your girlfriend for nothing.

Sheen: Thanks, Libs.

Carl: Ooo! (Sheen and Libby look at him) Ooo! Can I come, too?! I don't have anything else to do tonight.

Sheen: Well,... (looks at Libby; Libby smiles and nods) sure, Carl. How about (looks away, rubs chin; snaps fingers) we all (looks at Carl) go bowling?!

Carl: Oh, yeah! But not too heavy of a ball, okay, guys?

Libby: Sure, Carl.

(The camera zooms away from the Candy Bar as Carl, Sheen, and Libby all make their way to the bowling alley, happy that Jimmy and Cindy are finally an official couple)
