A/N hey everyone I got another fanfic story for ya this story centers on not only Penny and Bolt from the 2008 Disney movie Bolt but it'll also center on a black female German Shepherd dog named Lightning and her owner Jose this will mostly be about Lighting and her relationships particularly with Jose and Bolt and Mittens will also be in this story and Mittens will have a male counterpart named Mit and rhino will be also be in this story as well I'm not sure how many chapters this will be but I'll keep track of them as the story goes along so I hope you guys will like this and I don't own any characters from bolt those belong to Walt Disney I just own Lightning Jose Jose's dad who will be in this like Penny's mom is and Jose's mom who will also like Penny's dad in the film and Mit oh and before I forget Dr Callico is the only villain in this story okay so that's that so enjoy chapter 1.

Chapter 1. The Very Beginning

5 years earlier

The pet store had just opened for the day and inside were numerous pets there was a bin that had puppies inside the puppy bin were two of the puppies who woke up one was a snow white male with brown eyes and the other was a solid black female with hazel eyes both dogs were German Shepherd as the two German Shepherd pups woke up and stretched the white male pup saw a chew toy that looked like a carrot the female sat there for a minute until she saw a chew toy that resembled a banana and like the white one she to pounce on the toy and started playing with it as the two German Shepherd pups were playing with their toys two children walked into the pet shop one was a young girl with red hair and had a white complexion and other was a boy with black hair and was darker complected both kids were 10 years old the two looked at the bin and decided on them the young girl decided on the white male so the man who was running the place picked up the white German Shepherd pup and handed him to the little girl and the boy looked at the black female German Shepherd pup and decided on taking her so the man did the same thing with the black female one and handed her to the boy

Boy you're heavy the young boy said

And slobbery the young girl added after the white German Shepherd pup licked her face

The two kids set the pups down on the ground and attached a collar around their necks the white German Shepherd pup's collar read Bolt and the black German Shepherd pup's collar read Lightning the two pups looked at each other happy that they were getting adopted and having an owner Bolt's owner's name is Penny she's has red hair and a white complexion Penny lives with her single mother and Bolt couldn't be more happier with having Penny as an owner Lightning's owner is Jose Martinez who is of Mexican descent and lives with his single father Miguel like Bolt Lightning couldn't be any more happier with Jose as an owner Jose and Penny are good friends and always like hanging out together especially with Bolt and Lightning who are also best friends as well all four of them star in a Sci-fi tv show and the cast and crew always have to make the show real as possible for Bolt and Lightning causing them to be a little overprotective of Penny and Jose and that's how it was for Bolt and Lightning and that's where the story will begin

10 years later

ring ring ring a cell phone rings*

Hello both Jose and Penny answer their phones

Penny I don't have much time Penny's dad said frantically

Jose I don't have much time either Jose's mom said in the same tone

Daddy are you okay? Penny replied

Mom are you alright? Jose said baffled

Something's come up at work honey and daddy won't be home for a little while Penny's dad said

Jose's mother said the same thing that Penny's dad said the two teenagers were hanging out in the park when their parents called them informing them that they can't go back to their houses both Jose and Penny had a really bad feeling they knew that Penny's dad and Jose's mom were scientists and that a Englishman is trying to become powerful and is trying to use Penny's dad and Jose's mom to do it

You can't go back to the house Jose his mom said

I don't understand "what's happening?both Penny and Jose said

It's you guys won't be alone you guys have Bolt and Lightning Jose's mom said

We altered them and they can protect you guys now Penny's dad added

Both Bolt and Lightning have incredible super powers that will help Penny and Jose Jose and Penny are amazed and the next day they bust out of a door on top of a building both Jose and Penny get their special binoculars out and look through them the binoculars have a technique that allows Jose and Penny to hear what is being said

Thank you,which is of course wonderful news everything is positioning quite nicely a man said

There is he Jose said

Dr Calico Penny finished as she and Jose positioned the binoculars in front of Bolt and Lightning's faces causing the dogs to growl and show their teeth

Any luck getting our guests to spill their guts? Another man asked

Oh their guts will be spilled one way or another Dr Calico said with glee

Never Penny's dad said

We'll never talk Jose's mom added

Daddy! Penny gasped

Mom! Jose added with fear

You're beginning to irk me Professors I'm irked and that will not do as the passage arrived I think that'll make our friends more communicative Dr Calico said

I'm sending two agents now to pick them up the man said

Gorgeous have them bring them to me on first flight Dr Calico said as the two agents walked through the screen that was used to communicate with Dr Calico

Penny and Jose along with Bolt and Lightning dashed down and began following the two agents the two teenagers were careful not to be seen by the two agents the agents led Jose and Penny to an alleyway until the agents disappeared but before Jose and Penny could do anything they heard the sound of something closing and saw a black fancy looking car pulled up Calico showed up on a screen inside the car

We only need the girl and the boy Calico told the agents before hanging up

Before Penny and Jose knew it the car sped towards them but Bolt and Lightning put a stop to it by running headfirst towards the car causing it to flip in the air before landing on its cab with a loud thud Jose and Penny walked over towards the car Jose knocked on the cracked window and the window rolled down revealing the two agents

What!? One of the agents asked in a gruff voice

Where's Calico? Penny asked in a demanding tone pointing a finger at the two agents

We're not talking to you two the other agent said

But the two agents were to regret saying that because both Penny and Jose ordered Bolt and Lightning to hold their car over a bridge with running below this frightened the two agents into telling them where Calico was

Bolivia Bolivia Calico's in Bolivia one of the agents cried out as Bolt and Lightning had their car dangling from a bridge

Near Lake Rogaguado the other agent added

Lake Rogaguado we should've known Penny said

As Penny and Jose thought that they saw some black and yellow helicopters flying towards them so the two teenagers pulled out their scooters started them up and called Bolt and Lightning who set the two agents's car down hard and followed them as Jose and Penny sped away the helicopters set men on motorcycles after them so Jose and Penny command Bolt and Lightning to use what they call zoom zoom while pressing a button that shot out something for Bolt and Lightning to hold onto and they sped very fast downtown

Hey Penny any flights for Bolivia? Jose asked

Bolivia Penny said in her device she had there's a flight leaving in ten minutes

Good Jose said

As Jose and Penny raced towards the airport they saw the men on the motorcycles had some sort of Lightning thing in their hands one of motorcycle riders held up a spaceship looking thing before throwing it and it landed on a tanker next to a school bus

Bolt fetch Penny told him

Lightning go get it girl Jose added

The two dogs left their owners and caught the spaceship looking thing and realized that it was explosive device and the time was set for one minute before it was to explode Bolt and Lightning each grabbed ahold of it and took off running as they were running a helicopter rose up in front of them but Bolt used his laser eyes and shot the laser into the helicopter causing it to crash and another helicopter was destroyed when a missal hit once there was no more helicopters getting their way the two dogs set the timer thing on a rider before jumping off and the motorcycle rider looked at the timer before throwing it up to a helicopter that was above him causing the helicopter to blow up and motorcycle rider mistakenly put his lightning hand on his head causing him to fall off his motorcycle

Good boy Penny told Bolt

Good job girl Jose added

The two dogs barked happily as they approached the airport but were blocked by the vast majority of Calico's men Jose and Penny stopped their scooters before turning to their dogs they knew that Bolt and Lightning could get rid of these guys

Bolt speak Penny commanded

Speak Lightning Jose said

Bolt and Lightning stood proudly letting a growl before barking loud enough to cause an accident the entire ground shook as dust and rocks hit the cars and the motorcycle riders and the helicopters the bark destroy everything and once it was over there was nothing left one of the motorcycle riders was seen trying to dodge the debris as it came down once that was over both Lightning and Bolt growled when a tire stopped in front of them

Okay okay good job buddy mission accomplished Penny said trying to reassure Bolt as the four of them took a picture of that day's events that's a keeper Penny had a picture for her and Bolt and one for Jose and Lightning to keep

It's okay tough guy Penny said

It's alright girl you got them all Jose said he and Penny picked up the dogs and walked into their dressing rooms

Once Jose and Penny and the dogs were in their dressing rooms a bell rung and everything got back up several crew members walked into the editing room to watch the take when the director noticed a boom mic and stopped the clip

Boom mic! The director yelled

Boom mic a woman yelled out

That's a boom mic another man said causing the boom mic operator to lower his boom mic feeling guilty

That's sloppy the dogs could've seen that they could've seen that the director pointed out irritably

Uh who cares if the dogs see a boom mic? A woman voice asked

Forgive me for answering a question with a question "but who are you? The director asked turning to a woman with short dark hair

Mindy Parker from the network the woman answered

Of course Mindy from the network the director said siting backwards in a chair let me ask you something Mindy from the network "what do you see here?

Uh the dogs Mindy replied

The dogs she says oh poor Mindy poor Mindy the director replied

Uh am'I missing something here? Mindy asked confused

You're missing everything Mindy you see two dogs I see two animals that believe with every fiber of their beings every fiber that the two kids that they love are in mortal danger the director said I see the depth of emotion on the faces of those two canines the likes of which have never been captured on screen before never Mindy from the network we jumped through hoops to make sure Bolt and Lightning believe everything is real it's why we don't miss marks it's why we don't reshoot and it's why we most certainly do not let the dogs see boom mics because Mindy from the network if the dogs can believe the audience believes it

Wow okay you want reality here you go chief the show's too predictable the two kids are in danger the dogs saved them from the creepy English guy we get it there's always a happy ending and our focus groups tells us that they're not happy with happy so maybe you should I don't know spend a little less time worrying about both the dog's method acting and more time figuring out how to stop 20 year olds from Topeka from changing the channel Mindy said as she walks towards the door because if you lose so much as a half a rating point so help me I will fire everyone in the room starting with you "how's that for real?

As Mindy from the network left the editing room Jose was in the trailer room with Lightning keeping guard Jose had pinned a a picture on a bulletin board with hundreds of other pictures from the adventures of the show Jose smiled proudly as he pinned the picture on the board

There perfect looks like you saved me again Lightning Jose said

Lightning stared at the door of the trailer room growling softly ever since the show began Lightning has become overprotective of Jose Jose sighed softly and stared at his beloved dog he wished Lightning wouldn't be so protective of him he knew she was being loyal and what not but still he wished for her to be a normal dog he and Penny were planning on taking Lightning and Bolt home this weekend hopefully the studio will allow them but Jose doubt it

It's okay it's nothing no more bad guys "you hungry girl? Jose said getting up and pouring some food in Lightning's food bowl

As Jose turned around to set Lightning's food bowl down he accidentally knocked over a measuring cup causing Lightning to turn around growl thinking that something happened to Jose who sighed softly and set the food bowl down

You got them Lightning no one's going to hurt me Lightning look I'm fine see Jose said trying to reassure Lightning that he was alright

Lightning continued to stare at the trailer door keeping guard Jose sat there for a minute sighing softly he loved Lightning with all his heart and didn't like the fact that she was being so overprotective of him he knew that she meant well and everything but it beginning to be too much for the both of them he had hoped that he would be allowed to take Lightning home so that she would feel happy and not overwhelmed Penny had told him that she was having the same problem with Bolt and both had been talking about taking Bolt and Lightning home for awhile but they both doubt that they could take them home Jose looked down and saw Lightning's ball and decided to throw it but Lightning wasn't interested

Yeah that one's kinda boring isn't it oh but wait look what I found your favorite banana toy Jose said hoping that it'll get Lightning's attention

It almost did Lightning reacted to it before going back to guarding the door Jose sighed softly in defeat before he heard his cell phone ring he got up and pick the phone up and looked at it hitting the side button to stop his phone from ringing he had a feeling that it was probably his dad calling he sighed softly again as he heard Lightning whine softly he looked up and saw Lightning trying to block the door

Oh Lightning you know I have to go Jose said walking over and gently lifting Lightning up setting her on the floor as Lightning buried her head into Jose's chest and him gently lifting her head up to face him I'll come back tomorrow "okay? you're a good girl

Jose hugged Lightning before walking out the trailer he hated locking Lightning up in this place he wanted her to be a normal dog he hated everyone telling him what to do about Lightning Lightning was practically his dog he should be allowed to take her home with him he sighed angrily and was frustrated with people telling him that Lightning had to stay at the studio as he thought about Lightning Penny came over

Hey Jose Penny said

Oh hey Penny Jose replied

How's Lightning? Penny asked

She's alright "how's Bolt? Jose answered

He's alright as well protective as usual although I really hate seeing him locked up here Penny said

Yeah I know the feeling Lightning's the same way Jose said

Do you think they'll let us take Bolt and Lightning home this weekend? Penny asked

I don't know I hope so I really hate seeing Lightning like this she's practically my dog and I'm sick and tired of everyone telling me what to do when it comes to her I just want Lightning to be a normal dog a happy dog even Jose said

I know I want the same thing for Bolt too Penny added

As they talked their agent a blonde haired man with glasses came over to them as so did Penny's mom and Jose's dad and several other people Jose rolled his eyes as their agent spoke

There they are our little superstars let's get to that teen vogue cover shoot their agent said

Mom I want to take Bolt home with me this weekend Penny said walking to her mom

Yeah dad I really want to take Lightning home to she's my dog anyway Jose added walking to his dad

Well I don't see why not Miguel replied

Well I...that would be...Penny's mom tried to say

Oh that'd be nice that'd be great that would a little girl and boy with their dogs nothing better than that the agent said before going to walk away

So we can take Bolt and Lightning home? Penny asked

As your guy's friend I'd say yes absolutely but as your guy's agent I have to remind you that this is Bolt and Lightning's world and they have to stay right here okay let's go the agent replied

But they never get to be normal dogs and it would only be for the weekend Penny and I just want...Jose said

You know what it's a fair question let's do this let's put a pin in it boop! pin in there we go now let's let that set there a bit and then we'll address it when we thought things through "okay? "Good enough for everybody? "Smiles all around? Let's get out of here come on The agent replied

But we don't need to think it through we want to take Bolt and Lightning home Penny argued

Look at that face I have a little girl at home love of my life I would do anything for her but I would trade her for you two in a heartbeat true story that reminds me uh we need to get to wardrobe the agent said guiding them along and leaving the set

As Jose and Penny were leaving the set two cats walked over towards Lightning's trailer the two cats had already approached Bolt now they approaching Lightning's trailer one cat was fat and had white fur and dark face and the other cat was a solid black cat known as a Bombay cat which is the breed of the black cat the Bombay cat is the cat that belongs to Dr Calico as so does the other cat

So theses guys think all of this is real? The fat cat asked

Oh yeah you're new theses two never leave the set it's unbelievable whenever I get a chance this is the perfect way to unwind I like to start with an evil laugh the Bombay cat replied

Lightning laid on the floor by the door to the trailer thinking she knows she'll never rest until Jose was safe from harm as she was thinking this she heard all too familiar laugh an evil laugh that is she growled softly annoyed that it was Calico's cat and his little sidekick she got up and looked up and there they were Lightning had imagined that they bothered Bolt as well

Well what do you fur balls want Lightning growled annoyed

You and Bolt may have won today Lightning but in the end we'll get your owner Jose and his friend Penny Calico's cat replied

Like hell you are and unlikely cat for you may have chosen the path for evil untimely it will destroy you along with your puppet master Lightning snarled

Woe the fat cat replied when Calico's cat turned to him

I know "right? Okay watch this he's a goner dog the green eyed man has a plan and soon he'll execute it Calico's cat replied

Yeah and then he'll execute him the fat cat added

Nice Calico's cat whispered to him

Well Bolt and I would super bark you both back to the hole you crawled out of but we need you alive because we've got a little message for you to take back to your green eyed man you tell him that his old friends Bolt and Lightning said he better...Lightning began

Is it long? Calico's cat asked

Is...is what long? Lightning asked baffled

The message "is it a long message? Because I have a horrible memory Calico's cat replied

Yeah I'll make it brief alright you tell him I said that we're gonna Lightning replied

You know why don't we do this you remember the first half and I'll remember the second half and then that way we'll pass it on to the green eyed man together Calico's cat said

Now I don't really care how the message is translated alright just do it alright tell the green eyed man that Bolt and I will not sleep will not rest until our owners are safe from his evil clutches you tell the green eyed man that reckoning... Lightning said

Woe! Woe! Woe! Way too many words I was like "what? And then I was like "huh? And then well I got a little bored and something about clutches anyway I'll do my best ciao Calico's cat said before walking away

By the way huge fan love it love you gotta go thank you the fat cat added before joining Calico's cat

Get back here you sick revolting loathsome little Lightning barked

Dogs Calico's cat said shutting the door to his cage

Cats Lightning said with disgust before laying down don't worry Jose I'll never let them get you
