The start of a night that could've ended with happiness and joyfulness was not going as planned. The Jets leader Riff Lorton survived the Rumble that would've ended his life and before they realized they still had their leader alive,the Jets were at Valentina's shop and wondering what to do now that they lost their leader tonight. Anita comes in with a message from Maria. The Jets emotions were out of control and so they ganged up on Anita and almost did something to her. As a result of this,Anita told them that Chino found out about Tony and Maria and ended her life tonight. She told Valentina to tell Tony that and she did.
He bolted upstairs and quickly left the shop. He was screaming,pleading for Chino to come and do what he did to Maria. Ice immediately gave the Jets the tasks of finding Tony before Chino finds him first. They all went looking for Tony and they could hear him and that is when they saw their leader alive and they told him everything that happened after the Rumble. Riff immediately ran to where they said they heard Tony and watched in horror as his best friend Tony was aimed at two times. He watches as Tony collapsed unconscious. He ran forward and he felt arms lock around him and hold him back. He heard Officer Krupke's voice,"Stay back Riff."
He shook his head no and fought against him. Chino was standing there silently. Riff looked at him and thought that Chino should be glad that Officer Krupke wasn't allowing Riff to go forward. Lieutenant Schrank appeared and Officer Krupke told him what was going on and Lieutenant Schrank nodded and approached Chino. Riff kept resisting and Officer Krupke said,"Riff I know what you want to do right now but I can't let you." Riff's resisting made Officer Krupke lose his hold and Riff ran forward. He knelt down next to his best friend's body which was lying motionless. He said,"No! No! Please don't leave me Tony!" Diesel stepped forward and pulled Riff into his arms as the leader broke down in tears.
Moments later,Tony was taken to a hospital. Diesel held Riff and shushed him as he cried. From the looks of it,Tony was gone. Riff's best friend, brother from another mother was gone. But maybe he'll survive. Maybe Tony will be okay and not have his dying day. Diesel looked down at Riff and noticed that he had cried himself to sleep. The other Jets were standing there silently. It has definitely been a difficult emotional night and this literally can make it true. That was the start of a near fateful night. Diesel carried Riff back to the Jets place. Riff didn't wake up for a while after that. All there was left to do was hold onto hope. Hope that Tony was going to live,be alright.
