Chapter 12: Zip Lining

"Last time on Totally Epic: Hawaiian Style, the contestants hung 10 with the waves. While most of the finalists did well, it was Edu having to leave because of his poor swimming skills. But it wasn't too sad, since he did get a kiss from Setsuna. We're getting close to the end, and it could be anyone's competition. What's next for the contestants? Find out now on Totally Epic: Hawaiian Style." Monica announced.

That night, Setsuna returned the girls' trailer after seeing Edu off. She was feeling a bit blue, so she just sat on her bed. Vivian came back in from brushing her teeth, and saw the scene.

"Feeling down that your boyfriend's gone?" she asked.

"A little, Vivian."

"Don't worry. I felt the same way when Caden left. But don't worry, we'll see them again at the finale."

Setsuna smiled a little.

"That's true."

In the guys' trailer, Kahlin and Johnny were getting to go to sleep.

"So Johnny, you think you're gonna with this thing?" Kahlin wondered.

"Maybe, but I feel a little guilty." Johnny admitted.

"Why?" "Well I'm a native Hawaiian, if I win people might think the show was rigged or something."

"Please, I'm betting the audience is guessing you'll win."

"That is a point."

"Okay, maybe winning for my home state wouldn't be such a bad thing." Johnny confessed to the camera.

The next morning, after eating breakfast, the four were ready for their next challenge. Monica, Hailey, and Charlotte and Pepper were waiting for them.

"Good morning, final four. Congratulations for making it this far. Are you all ready for today's challenge?" Monica announced.

Everyone answered "yes".

"Then let's board the bus and get to it."

They all got on the bus, and it drove off.

"I wonder what we'll be doing?" wondered Setsuna.

"With things getting close to the end I bet it's something intense." said Kahlin.

"Well whatever it is, I bet I'll win it." Vivian bragged.

"Don't count your chickens before they hatch, Vivian." Johnny warned.

She chuckled, and smiled. As they talked, Charlotte looked back at them.

"Who do you think will win, Pepper?" she whispered to her pet.

Pepper squeaked at her.

"Yeah, I'm thinking that too."

"We'll see who can stand this challenge." Monica told her.

When they got to the spot, they all got off the bus, but the contestants were confused. They didn't see anything that looked like a challenge.

"Uh, Monica, what are we supposed to be doing?" asked Kahlin.

"Yeah, I don't see anything." Vivian added.

"That's because you're looking in the wrong place." Monica told them.

Hailey then pointed up, and they looked up. Up above them, they saw zip lines.

"For this challenge, we'll be getting off the ground."

They then climbed a ladder, and ended up on a platform.

"All right, for this challenge, you'll have to zip line several miles across this landscape. They are ten different stops, where you can rest for a minute and re-attatch yourself to your harnesses. You'll each have to collect as many flags as you can that's hanging from the ropes. When you get to the end, whoever has the most flags wins and gets immunity. But you have to have the flags with you at the end, and if the flags tear or get damaged they won't count." Monica explained.

"But I've never zip lined before." Kahlin said, raising his hand.

"Not to worry. We'll give you a quick tutorial." Hailey assured.

Some interns came into the platform, and instructed them how to zip line.

After getting the tutorial, the contestants were hooked up, had on their helmets, and ready to go.

"All right, everyone ready?" asked Monica.

"Ready!" everyone replied.

"Charlotte?" Charlotte, who had a red flag in her hand, stood on the side.

"On your marks...get set...GO!" she yelled, as she waved the flag down.

And with that, the teens ran towards the edge of the platform, jumped off, and glided through the air.

"We'll see you at the finish!" Monica called out.

And the three climbed down the ladder.

"How long do you think it'll take them?" Charlotte wondered.

"Who knows, come on. Let's call out for smoothies while we wait." Hailey suggested.

And off they all went.

Up in the air, the contestants were coming up on the flags.

"Here we go." said Setsuna.

"Just a little closer." Kahlin told himself.

She grabbed two, and Kahlin managed to grab two. Johnny managed to get three but Vivian only got one.

"Aw man!" she complained.

"I can't believe I only got one flag." Vivian said.

"I definitely have to get more next time."

As they zipped through the air, they came up to the first stop. When they landed there, they un-hooked themselves and took a breath.

"Whoa, that was a rush." said Johnny.

"You said it." agreed Setsuna.

While the others looked excited, Vivian looked determined. She quickly hooked herself back up, and took off.

"Vivian looks like she's determined to win this thing." observed Kahlin.

"Well we better catch up to her." Setsuna informed.

The others hooked themselves back up, and followed after her.

Vivian glided towards the upcoming flags, stuck out her arm, and managed to grab two flags.

"Yes!" she cheered.

The others were behind her, and ready to grab the flags. Kahlin got one, Setsuna got two, and Johnny collected three.

"This challenge is gonna be a piece of cake." Johnny thought to himself.

When they got to the next stop, they took the time to count their flags.

"I've got four flags." informed Setsuna.

"My number's six, which means I'm in the lead." Johnny told happily.

"I have three." said Kahlin.

"I managed to get three flags. I'm definitely pulling up." replied Vivian.

They continued to zip line through the air, collecting flags. Though it wasn't easy for them. Kahlin managed to grab a flag, but it slipped through his fingers and fell to the ground. Setsuna got one, but it got torn by a tree branch.

They had managed to get to the 9th rest stop, and took the time to catch their breath and count their flags.

"I can still win this thing." whispered Vivian.

She got hooked back up, and took off.

"Oh no you don't." said Kahlin, following behind her.

And Setsuna and Johnny followed.

At the 10th spot, Monica, Hailey, and Charlotte were waiting for them.

"I wonder how they're doing?" thought Charlotte.

"Don't worry, Char. They'll be fine." Monica assured.

"Yeah, this isn't Total Drama." Hailey told.

On the line, the contestants were getting closer to the flags. They all had their hands out, ready to grab them. Once they were close enough, they started grabbing them. Some of them even used both their hands.

While Vivian was grabbing some flags, she didn't notice that she was coming close to some branches. When she hit them, one of them poked her pants' pocket, and tore it. And the worst part was in that pocket were her flags, and some of them were flying out and she didn't seem to notice.

Finally they all got to the final spot.

"Hello, contestants. Time to count out those flags." Monica informed.

The teens then reached into their pockets, pulled out their flags, and started counting. But when Vivian reached into her pocket, she felt the rip, and her heart sank.

"Oh man." she cried. "This can't be happening.

"Okay, Johnny how many flags you got?"

"I've got 25 flags." he informed.

"Good. Setsuna?"

"I got 23."

"Nice job, Kahlin?"

"21."

"Good for you. Vivian?"

Vivian slowly looked up at her, and answered,

"17."

"Ooh, that's rough." whispered Hailey to Charlotte.

"You got that right." Charlotte whispered back.

"Well Johnny, since you have the most flags you win immunity." Monica informed.

Johnny cheered happily.

"The rest of you, I'll see you at the elimination ceremony."

And they all got down, got back on the bus, and drove off.

That night, everyone gathered for the ceremony.

"All right, everyone it's time to see who's staying and who's going." Monica told them.

Everyone looked at each other nervously.

"When I call your name come get a flower."

Then it started.

"Setsuna."

She got up and got her flower.

"And now the final flower goes too..."

Both Kahlin and Vivian looked at each other.

"...Kahlin." Monica replied finally.

Vivian was stunned, while Kahlin got up and collected his flower.

"Sorry, Vivian. But looks like you're leaving now."

Vivian drooped her head.

"It was nothing personal, Viv." Johnny told her.

"Yeah, survival of the fittest and all." added Setsuna.

"It's all right guys. I had fun." Vivian told them.

And they left.

"And there goes another contestant. We're now down to the final three, it could be anyone's contest. Who'll win, and who'll leave? Find out next time on Totally Epic: Hawaiian Style." announced Monica.
