Tony knows that what had nearly happened to him had definitely taken a toll on Riff and his mental health too. He understands how Riff must be feeling right now because if it was the other way around, Tony would be in that position. He had to do something to help him out. He knew he'd be alright after he makes recovery. He planned on doing it as soon as Riff comes to visit. Riff's visits were a great comfort for Tony as well as Riff himself. Even though Riff would never admit that. Riff hates admitting emotional stuff but Tony almost always gets to see that part of him. Riff is an open book to Tony and often Tony sees the side of Riff that he doesn't want anyone to see because he'd look weak. Riff was only human with emotions like everyone else. Riff arrived and went down to where Tony was staying.

Riff asked,"How're you feeling?" Tony replied,"Alright. I want to tell you something though Riff. Please hear me out." Riff nodded,"What is it?" Tony said,"Riff, you may not be showing it nor will you ever admit it but I can see how what happened or what nearly happened to me is taking a toll on you and your mental health. Riff I understand that because I would be the same if it was the other way around." Riff said,"Don't lie to me Tony. I'm fine just glad you are alright." Tony said,"Riff,I know that I'm right and I know you know that I'm right too. But I also know you hate admitting emotional stuff but buddy boy you're only human with emotions like everyone else is." Riff kept denying it but deep down he did know that Tony was right. Riff was just too stubborn and full of pride to ever say that out loud. He barely reacted when he felt Tony pull him to his chest.

Finally he said,"I know you are right." Tony nodded and said,"Everything will be alright now." Riff shook his head, allowing his emotions to come out and began to cry. Tony strokes his hair,"Shhhh, shhhh shhhh. I'm right here. I've got you. Everything will be alright now." Riff shook his head and wailed harder. Tony shushed him. Eventually Riff had cried himself to sleep peacefully. Tony didn't let go of him. Even though he'd never say it out loud,Tony knew that Riff needed this. He looked at his sleeping best friend and he leaned his head down and whispered calming things and he kissed his head. Riff snuggled closer at the touch. Tony smiled and he knew that Riff would be alright and that everything will be alright now. As long he had Riff and Riff had him, everything was going to be just fine. There was no doubting that,it was the honest truth too.
