When Riff returned to visit Tony again,he was going to confide in him. He needed to. Riff was feeling like something needed to be said and that was something important to him and he knew that Tony was willing to listen to him no matter what he talked about. That was how they were with each other. Riff would surely be lying if he said that the day he met Tony didn't save Riff's life, the day that he met Tony saved his life. He could tell Tony anything that he wanted. And Tony could tell him anything he wanted. They cared about each other a lot. They confided in each other a whole lot. Riff needed to get this conversation off his chest. And who better to tell than his best friend Tony? No one. He went to where Tony was staying and after the usual greetings,he said,"Tony,I have to say something."
Tony said,"Anything buddy boy. Tell me what's up." Riff took a deep breath and said,"The night that you got injured and laid motionless,I thought that I lost you. You literally looked lifeless and I thought you were gone. I don't think I have ever cried so much until recently that night and then when you were hospitalized and the last time we had a conversation." Tony said,"Oh my goodness. Riff it's alright. I'm alive. I'm sorry that you felt that way. I'm right here. You didn't lose me. I'm right here and I'm not leaving you." He embraced him and Riff cried hard into his chest. Tony just held him and shushed him,"Shhhh, shhhh shhhh. It's alright. I've got you. I'm still here and alive." Riff cried himself to sleep peacefully in Tony's arms. Tony stroked his hair and just held him close to him.
