Happy Anniversary!
A/N: Okay so today is mine and my fiancé's 5 year anniversary so I figured why not write a one shot centered around that. It's centered around my Back Home Again universe. Hope you guys enjoy.
Summary: Opie and Eliza have been married for five years. Ope's got big plans for their anniversary and Eliza has her own surprise.
Eliza POV
I couldn't believe it. Ope and I had been married for 5 years. Time had flown by. Some days it seemed like we'd been together forever, while other days it seemed just like yesterday. Jax and Ope had been doing amazing things with the club, while Lexi and I had been handling the garage. It was incredible. Not to mention that Opie and I had little Sara to think about. It had been a long road, but everyone was finally happy with the lives that we were leading.
Today was mine and Ope's anniversary and he'd told me to be ready at 5, that he had a big night planned for us. Lexi had come by earlier and picked up Sara. I couldn't believe that they'd agreed to keep her for the night considering that they had Abel and Lexi was pregnant. She was due any day.
At 5 o'clock on the dot, Opie walked through the front door, looking incredible. "When did you change?" I asked him, knowing that he hadn't been home all day.
"Just one of my many surprises." He said. He leaned down and kissed me. "Happy anniversary baby."
"Happy anniversary babe." I said.
Ope led me outside where he opened the car door for me, allowing me to get in before he closed the door and made his way to the driver's side. We pulled out of the driveway and Ope drove us toward Lodi. When we got to Lodi, Ope pulled into the parking lot of a steakhouse. We got out of the car and made our way inside. Once we were seated I looked at Ope. "This is nice." I told him.
"The restaurant or it being just the two of us?" He asked.
I laughed. "Both, I guess. I mean normally if we go out to eat its just the diner, so this is definitely different. But it's also usually either us and Sara, or us, Sara, Jax, Lexi and Abel." I told him. "So it's nice that it's just the two of us. It's been a while since we've done anything just the two of us."
"Other than the clubhouse parties." He said.
"Yes, other than that." I said, smiling at him.
It didn't take long for the waitress to come over and take our order. Ope had gotten steak and fries while I had decided on surf n turf. After we'd eaten, he'd ordered us a piece of chocolate cake to share. When we'd finished with dinner and dessert, we headed back out to the car. Ope drove us down the road a little ways before he pulled into the parking lot of a hotel. I looked over at him confused. "I thought that we deserved to treat ourselves for a night." Ope said.
I leaned over the center console and kissed him. "It sounds perfect." I told him.
We climbed out of the car and made our way inside the hotel and up to our room. When Ope opened the door to our room, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Ope had decorated the entire room with different colored roses and rose petals. "Ope it's beautiful." I said.
He closed the distance between us and wrapped his arms around me. He leaned down and kissed me.
A little while later, Ope and I were laying in bed. "So, good anniversary?" Ope asked me.
"Great anniversary. Plus I still have to give you your present." I told him. I stood up the bed and walked over to my purse so that I could pull the envelope out.
"You didn't have to get me anything babe." He said.
"Right, like you didn't get me anything." I said and he gave me a sheepish grin. "That's what I thought." I climbed back on the bed and handed Ope the envelope. "It's not much but I think you'll like it."
He opened the envelope and pulled out the stack of pictures that I'd put in there. I watched his face as he flipped through the pictures. He looked up at me when he got to the last one. "Is this for real?" He asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah. Tara confirmed for me yesterday. I would've told you last night but I knew today was our anniversary so I wanted to wait." I told him.
He grabbed my hand and pulled me into his lap. He kissed me. "I'm so unbelievably happy right now." He said. "Don't think my gift can top yours though." He reached down to the floor and picked up his pants. He pulled a small box out and handed it to me.
"I'm sure that I'll love it either way." I told him. I unwrapped the box and opened it. It was a beautiful locket with a crow on the front. I opened it to see a picture of me and Ope on one side and then a picture of Sara on the other side. "It's perfect." I said. "I love you."
"I love you too. Always have always will."
