Hinata didn't expect the world to be so dark, tough and frightening. Working as a creature of the night wasn't an easy profession, so to speak. But, she needed the money like some many other girls that dived into this profession. This working line was one of the oldest in history. Being a nocturnal animal was really challenging. Walking the domains of the underworld was humiliating, gross and lonely. It broke Hinata's heart. Although there were few rare crowning jewels to say the least, like high-society courtesans, she wasn't one of them. Actually, she was nobody's first choice, although there was just one regular client who kept coming back. It was the same man. The same dark piercing eyes that roamed over her. His eyes were deep and sad, without any hope for tomorrow. She never asked his name. She didn't want to know. She remembered the first time they met and the first time he walked over to her at the nightclub. Hinata remembered his first words to her, when they met at the bar, he was drinking. "Destiny must be playing Russian roulette with my life." He turned his head to face her, glaring at her, scrutinizing her. She forced herself to ask him:
" Why?"
" I am making all the wrong choices."
"What do you do?"
" I am a system analyst."
" I presume you enjoy your job."
" I actually hated it."
She said nothing, just smiled softly.
He continued: " What I have is a gift from God, whether I like it or not. I am a natural when it comes to my work. Being an analyst is the only job I excel at."
" Why?"
" Solitude." He slurped his drink in one single shot, resting his head on the bar's wooden table: "Yeah buuuurp." He belched as his fingers played with the glass, tingling the drink, making jingled repetitives sounds -click click click!! - The man moaned: "Uunnnnhh." Then, he raised his head, fixing his obsidian orbs on her. He became silent all of sudden, then, he blurted: "Why are you here, talking to me? Well, let me tell you something, woman: Whatever you think you are doing I -ha-ha- '' He stopped talking, closing his eyes, groaning afterwards, casting her a small pitiful smile "Ergggg, how much do you want?"
She scratched the bridge of her nose, uncomfortably: " It depends on what you desire. On how much you want..my..services."
"Humhum." Clutching his hands together, still playing with the glass of whiskey, he continued: " I will pay for the entire night and the morning too."
She was really disconcerted, feeling humiliated and really really dirty: " Three hundred dollars."
" Uhhuh." He took the money from his wallet that he kept in his dark jacket's pocket, giving it to her. As he stood up, jumbling, Hinata stiffed on her seat as she looked at him paying the bartender. He turned to her: " I am at a Hotel. Huh, I am getting ourselves a cab."
That was the first night of several ones to come. Although, she remembered their last night together:
" I don't want your money." She said.
" I thought clients had to pay for your services."
She grabbed her purse and took the three hundred dollars throwing at Sasuke's face. He didn't move an inch. The money was on the floor, between them.
" I am leaving. As for yourself, pick a bar and go drink to death."
" I paid you to do your job."
" I am not doing anything with you."
"Do it, Hyuuga." He seized her wrists murmuring closer to her nostrils. She could feel his alcohol breath. He pushed the chair next to Hinata 's as he looked right at her: "Do it or I will put you on your knees."
Her eyes started to water, her cheeks flashed a crimson color not of embarrassment but of anger and hatred. She felt dirty. Her soul was dirty like a muddy river. The revolt, hatred and anguish culminated in her heart like a hurricane. She tried to turn this rampage of emotions and high feelings into words but she couldn't. Instead, she just stared at him.
" I am not kidding. I am not in the mood for this bullshit, hear me?"
He said, squeezing her wrist harder, with eyes gleaming with persistence.
" Be a man and do it." She replied defiantly, eyeing him with stormy eyes of lilic, ready to have a knockdown fight, if necessary. Like all the troubles that have gotten into Hinata 's life, she was gonna dance her way out. That was Hinata 's motto.
" You are crossing the line, Hyuuga."
" A real man would do it."
" What game are we playing here? This feels like a game." He replied.
Her pressed wrists were burning like iron on the skin.
" Let me go."
" And where would you go? To another hotel room with another nameless client?"
" Away from you, you sick man."
" I'll come after you in order to get what I paid you for."
" You paid me for what, huh?" She whispered.
" To Forget…just forget the world and my sins."
" You'll never find me." She replied.
Sasuke took her by the arms, making her press her chest against his. In all of the whirlwind of emotions, she had the bravery of hugging him, sliding her arms around his waist, under his waistcoat. He, not knowing where to start, leaned his head further down, resting his chin on her hair; " Hinata, stay with me just for tonight. Comfort me in your arms. Hold me just this once and when it's over we will never see each other again. No tears and no promises." Sasuke murmured into her ears, caressing the rave. locks he began to like so damn much, leaning his head forward, smelling her perfume. Those shades are hard to forget. And that perfume, hard to resist.
" You are mistaken about my profession, I am a creature of the night, not a wife. You want something that I can't give you." She replied with watery eyes of light purple that made him wanting to dive in that fountain of mystery like right the fuck now, like they say, the eyes are the windows of the soul, right? And Sasuke wanted to get hold of that.
" Yes you can but you don't want to give in."
" In the next day, when the morning comes it will be time for us to say goodbye and I don't think I would like that to happen."
" Let's enjoy it while we can, while time allows us to."
"I don't want you to be the one that stole my heart away."
" I will give it back."
" But it will be broken."
" And what makes you think you won't break mine too?"
Not knowing what to say, her eyes widened in a way that Sasuke thought they were going to pop out of her pale face.
" You drank too much."
"I didn't."
"You should have." She pressed her fingers on his cheeks, caressing his face. She always wanted to do this. Hinata saw her mother do this countless times on her father's face. And father wasn't half as beautiful as this man was. Although this man was a rude and disrespectful man, he had an air of sweetness and serenity that no other man possessed.
