(This is a completely unique story, as this is the SWORD ART ONLINE verse instead of the NARUTO verse, so please don't judge what I do)

Chapter 8: The Separation.
Timeskip - The next day
Scene Change: Agil's Shop on Floor 50
We see Kirito, Kisame, and Agil sitting at a table while Agil reads the latest news report.
(Agil): A blue demon that annihilated a big squad of army guys and a 100 hit combo from a Dual wielder and a Sharkman who took the boss out by themselves.
I can't believe what a big deal they're making out of this thing.
Agil then laughs at this.
(Kirito): Yeah it's blowing up right in our face's
A butt load of Swordsmen and info brokers showed up at our place this morning trying to learn the skill or challenge Kisame for Samehada.
Now we need a new pad cause they know where we live.
Lis walks in carrying a box with stuff in it.
(Lisbeth): Yeah well, that's sorta kinda your own fault, you guys said it was gonna be our little secret but you went and blabbed it to everyone.
Lis flashes a grin at the two making Kisame chuckle, which makes Kirito agitated.
(Kisame): Well, it wasn't my idea to use Fusion or Dual wielding, he's the one who took action.
Kisame then shrugs his shoulders while grinning, making Kirito groan in annoyance.
Suddenly Asuna comes rushing in worried and with a few tears in her eye.
(Asuna): What are we gonna do Kirito, we've got ourselves a huge problem!
Timeskip - 1 hour later
Scene change: Knights of The Blood Oath Headquarters
(?): Outside of boss fights, I don't believe we've ever actually met.
Kirito, Kisame.
(Kirito): Well, there was that conference on floor 67.
We talked a little bit there, commander Heathcliff.
(Heathcliff): Yes, that was a difficult battle wasn't it.
We almost lost a few players there too.
We may be the top guild, but we barely get by with the amount of troops we have.
And here you are, trying to poach one of our best players.
I don't know what to say.
Asuna steps forward a little only to be stopped by Kirito and Kisame's arms.
(Kisame): If she's that important to you, then maybe you should spend a little more time picking a better body guard for her, ya know, one that actually listens and doesn't do insubordination, I mean come on if she's supposedly your second in command you think he would listen to her a little more.
(Heathcliff): You have my sincerest apologies with any trouble you had with Kuradeel, but you must understand we cannot allow our second in command to leave the guild just like that.
(Kisame): Actually, yes she can.
(Heathcliff): Huh?
Do explain.
(Kisame): If she doesn't want to be in your guild then she can leave it's called free will for a reason ya know, she isn't some kind of property you own.
(Heathcliff): Very well then, I have a proposal for you.
(Kirito): What proposal?
(Heathcliff): If you want her, you will have to use your dual blade to take her from us, if you can defeat me in combat you'll be free to take Asuna with you.
On the other hand if you lose, both you and Kisame, will both join the Knights of The Blood Oath.
Kirito looks over to Kisame who nods at Kirito.
(Kirito): Yeah, ok.
If you want to settle this with swords that's fine by me.
We'll have ourselves a duel then.
Timeskip - One day later
Scene change: Colosseum hall
POV: Kirito
We see Kirito standing in front of a worried Asuna while Kisame is just leaning against the wall
(Asuna): My god!
You're such an idiot!
How could you agree to a duel!
(Kirito): Ok!
Calm down, I'm sorry!
(Kisame): Well it's not like he gave us any other choice, he obviously chose to duel Kirito over me because he knows I'm the better fighter of us two and doesn't wanna face all the tricks and twists I have up my sleeve.
With Kirito all his stuff is out in the open.
(Asuna and Kirito in Sync): No helping!
Hearing this makes Kisame sweat drop a bit.
(Asuna): The other day….when you used your dual wielding skill and when Kisame fused with Samehada, I've never seen anything like that before.
Thing is, the commander has his own unique skill too.
(Kirito): I know, I've seen it a bunch of times with Kisame.
(Kisame): The divine blade, it maximizes his offense and defensive capabilities, his attack is powerful and his defense is damn near perfect.
(Asuna): No ones ever seen the commander's HP bar dip down into the yellow zone before….
His invincibility is way beyond the normal game balance
(Kirito): I know….
(Asuna): What if you lose?
I don't care if I don't get my leave of absence, I care about you guys having to join The Knights of The Blood Oath
(Kirito): Well I'm not planning on losing easily.
Kirito then smirks at Asuna and Kisame just gives a shark grin.
(Kisame): Well then use his weakness against him.
(Asuna and Kirito in Sync): Weakness?
(Kisame): Yeah, his strengths are offense and defense right?
Well that means nothing if you can't keep up with the speed.
Kirito has way faster reaction time than any other player in any play in SAO, the only exception being me but that's a given.
Hearing this widens Asuna's eyes and Kirito just smirks as he walks off.
(Kisame): Well we better get to our seats before someone takes them
(Asuna): Right…..
Scene change: Colosseum arena
We see the crowd cheering and waiting for this epic duel to start
(Heathcliff): I'm sorry about this, Kirito.
I didn't think this would be such a big deal, this is crazy.
(Kirito): Maybe I can get a cut of the tickets?
(Heathcliff): No, but when we're finished you will become an official member of the guild, as well as Kisame, the Monster of the mist,
I'll consider this your first mission.
Heathcliff opens his menu and sends Kirito a duel invite in which Kirito accepts.
They both unsheathe their weapons, Kirito with his dual blades and Heathcliff with his divine blade.
The timer hits 0 and the duel starts with Kirito changing and hitting the Elucidator against Heathcliff's shield and starts barraging sword strikes against the man at high speeds all of which Heathcliff blocks he the pulls his shield back and goes for a strike which Kirito blocks with his swords, pushing the black clad boy back.
Heathcliff then goes for a sword strike but faints and hits Kirito with a shield back to the chest.
POV: Kirito's thoughts
(Kirito): His shield!?
Heathcliff and Kirito go blow for blow as Kirito jumps back and charges a sword skill on the elucidator and charges at Heathcliff aiming to impale him but gets blocked by Heathcliff's shield, Heathcliff turns to the side making Kirito go forward grinding his blade off the Shield as Kirito reacts quickly and turns around.
POV: Kirito
(Heathcliff): Your reaction time is very impressive, not as fast as Kisame's but is still very impressive.
(Kirito): Yeah and your defense is impregnable.
The crowd goes wild at this display of skill between the two swordsmen.
The two swordsmen then rush at each other and clash over and over again.
POV: Kirito's thoughts
(Kirito): Not yet!
Give it time!
Kirito continuously hits Heathcliff's shield and blocks a sword strike from him barely getting his cheek cut in the process, Kirito then hits a strike that cuts Heathcliff's cheek lowering his health a little and widening the man's eyes until he dawns a serious look.
Kirito continuously hits Heathcliff's shield making it bounce back, unable to block Kirito's next strike.
(Kirito): Now's my chance!
Kirito uses a blue sword skill to slash Heathcliff across the chest until miraculously and in a show of an inhuman level of speed, Heathcliff blocks the strike with his shield and hits Kirito on the shoulder making his health drop to yellow and knocking him down on the ground, declaring him the winner of the duel.
The crowd goes wild at this new revelation as Heathcliff walks back.
Timeskip - 2 days later
Scene Change: Agil's Shop.
POV: Kisame
We see Kirito, Asuna, and Kisame in the back trying on uniforms for the newly made members of The Knights of The Blood Oath.
Kirito is wearing a red and white version of his original black and white outfit but with a strap on the torso, Kisame is wearing a white version of His Akatsuki cloak and a white and red version of his Mist uniform.
(Kirito): Uh, don't you guys have uniforms that aren't so flashy?
(Kisame): Well to be fair we're only in these uniforms cause you lost.
(Kirito): Shut up, not helping….
(Asuna): Actually, that's one of our less flashy ones
Kirito lets himself fall on the bed making Kisame sweatdrop.
(Kirito): I'm in a guild….
Hearing this makes Kisame's eye twitch.
(Kisame): Did you all of a sudden forget I was here?
(Asuna): Well I guess it's sorta my fault isn't it.
(Kirito): No, this is a good opportunity for us.
As solo players we got as far as we could go.
(Kisame): Speak for yourself, dude.
(Asuna): That makes me feel a little better.

Why do you and Kisame avoid guilds?

I mean it's not because you're a beta tester and Kisame has a bad reputation or because you guys have unique skills is it?

Hearing this makes Kisame frown and Kirito look away.
(Kirito): It was a long time ago….
About a year or so, back before me and Kisame started playing together….
Up to now, that was the only guild I was in.
It was small, including me, there were 6 of us in it…
They called themselves the Moonlight Black Cats.
As players they were good, but their levels were way lower than mine and I thought if I told them what my level was, they wouldn't have wanted me around.
So I decided to keep my mouth shut about it and I joined up with them.
I watched them, messing around, having fun, and I guess I wanted to be part of that too.
Then one day….
Flashback of Ducker, Tetsuo, and Sasamaru's deaths as well as Keidas words.
Asuna listens with widened eyes.
(Kirito): I'm the reason those 3 died and if it were not for Kisame following me, Sachi would have died too.
If I hadn't hidden the fact that I was a beater, I could have convinced them how dangerous that trap really was….
I killed them, Ducker, Tetsuo, and Sasamaru, all 3 of them.
After Kisame and I took Sachi back to Keida he told us I shouldn't have been involved with them, and he was right….
We haven't seen Keida or Sachi since.
Asuna then stands up and walks over and sits on the bed holding Kirito's face, smiling at the boy.
(Asuna): I'm not gonna die, got that?
I can't die, because….I have to protect you.
Asuna then hugs Kirito into her shoulder as this puts Kisame deep in thought.
Timeskip - One day later
Scene Change: Knights of The Blood Oath Headquarters
POV: Kisame
We see Asuna and Kirito sitting on 2 couches and Kisame leaning against a wall behind Kirito, a male with brown hair with a beard and an axe on his back walks up to them.
(Kisame and Kirito in Sync): We gotta train?
(?): That's right!
You two, me, and one other guy are gonna form a party.
Then we're all gonna go clear the dungeon on this floor.
(Asuna): Hold on Godfree!
Kirito, Kisame, and I are already in a-
(Godfree): I can't do anything about it mam, besides as second in command, you know we can't ignore the rules.
If they're gonna be joining us, then it's my job as commander of the frontlines to take both the kids out and evaluate their skills.
(Asuna): But!
That's ridiculous, they don't need evaluation there stronger than you!
(Godfree): Boys in 30 minutes, I wanna see you 2 at the western gate, Oorah!
Godfree laughs while walking off and closing the door behind him, making Asuna sigh.
(Asuna): We finally had a chance to be alone….
Kirito then gets up and puts a hand on Asuna's head.
(Kirito): I'll be back soon.
Think you can wait for me?
(Asuna): Mhm, just be careful….
Kirito nods as they head out of the room.
(Kisame): Chick magnet.
(Kirito): Did you say something?
(Kisame): Just that I already hate that guy and I would have understood if it was just me, but you as well?
I mean you fought the commander how much more evaluating could he possibly need.
(Kirito): Well I don't know but let's just get this over with.
Kirito and Kisame walk to the western gate as they see Godfree and Kuradeel who he pulled out from behind the corner, seeing Kuradeel surprises Kirito and Kisame.
(Godfree): Hey boys, we're waiting for ya!
(Kisame): You have got to be kidding me.
(Kirito): Are you serious?
(Godfree): Yup, look at it this way we're all in the same guild so I figured now is a good time as any for you guys to bury the hatchet.
Godfree then chuckles as Kuradeel walks up to Kirito and Kisame.
(Kuradeel): About the other day…
I apologize for my behavior.
I was rude to you both and I...I promise it won't happen again.
(Godfree): Alright ladies, it's time for you to focus.
(Kisame): Dick.
(Godfree): Huh?
Did you say something Kisame?
(Kisame): Yeah, I was wondering what we were doing today.
(Godfree): Today, I'll be checking out how you react to dangerous situations, so Ima need you to hand over all the crystals in your storage.
(Kirito): Even our teleport crystals?
(Godfree): Mhm.
POV: Kisame's thoughts
(Kirito): Bro this guy keeps getting worse, first he thinks he needs to evaluate us, then brings Kuradeel along without asking us, is being an asshole, and now he wants us to give him our crystals!?
Pfft nah, I'm at least keeping one antidote for myself, screw that.
POV: Kisame.
Kuradeel and Kirito give Godfree their crystals and when he walks up to Kisame and gestures to give them up, giving him a wink, he receives all of them but one, not noticing it.
(Godfree): Awesome, now lets go clear a dungeon!
(Kirito, Kisame, and Kuradeel in sync): Yay….
Scene change: A Canyon
(Godfree): This looks like a good place to take a break.
Chow time ladies.
Godfree throws a bag to Kuradeel, Kisame, and Kirito, who are all sitting down now.
Kirito and Kisame sigh and take a drink out of the water bottle in there, then looking at Kuradeel who was smirking at them, Kisame and Kirito then look at the bottles they drank from and throws them to the side causing them to shatter into blue glass particles, the two along with Godfree fall in a paralysis state where they aren't able to move.
Kuradeel starts laughing like a mad man.
(Godfree): The hells going on, you packed the water Kuradeel, what'd you do?
You bastard.
(Kirito): Antidote crystals, hurry!
Kuradeel suddenly jumps and kicks the antidote Crystal out of Godfree's hand.
(Kuradeel): Poor, sad old Godfree.
I always knew you were a colossal idiot, but this proves you're even dumber than I thought!
(Godfree): Don't do this!
Kuradeel then pulls out his sword and walks up to Godfree widening the man's eyes as he starts to hit the man with his sword turning Kuradeels cursor orange and making Godfrees health go down.
(Godfree): No!
Stop it!
(Kuradeel): Here's my plan, our party was walking along when!
Kuradeel hits Godfree again.
(Kuradeel): We were attacked by this gang of criminal players who appeared out of nowhere!
Kuradeel then hits Godfree again.
(Kuradeel): You both fought hard, but you were killed in battle!
Kuradeel then his Godfree again.
(Kuradeel): It was just me against all of them and somehow I single handedly and courageously fought them all off!
Kuradeel hits Godfree again and starts to laugh madly as Godfree's health hits red, shocking Kirito.
Kuradeel hits Godfree one last time, killing the man, making him shatter into blue glass particles.
Kuradeel starts panting and looks over to Kirito giggling.
(Kuradeel): Ya know, I just killed an innocent bystander because of you….
How am I gonna live with myself?
(Kisame): From over here you looked like you were having a blast doing it, like you were having the best day of your life killing him, he may have been an asshole but he didn't deserve that!
(Kirito): Why the hell would a guy like you join the Knights of The Blood Oath!?
You would be more at home with one of the Criminal guilds!
(Kuradeel): What an interesting observation.
Kuradeel then takes off his gauntlet showing his Laughing Coffin tattoo
(Kisame): Laughing Coffin!
(Kirito): The murder guild!
(Kisame): Of course scum like you would join them!
(Kuradeel): Heh, that's where I got the skills to paralyze bastards like you 2.
I knew the only way I could paralyze that bastard over there was through the water, I just waited for you idiots to drink it!

I better stop talking or the poison will wear off and we wouldn't want that, time to finish you off for good!
Kuradeel stabs Kirito's arms and legs, dropping his health to half, widening Kisame's eyes.
(Kuradeel): Come on now!
It's your last chance to say something!

Kuradeel then stabs Kirito in the gut, dropping the boy's health to red, as Kirito closes his eyes he remembers Asuna and grabs the sword causing Kuradeel to chuckle.
(Kuradeel): Heh, why do you keep struggling?
Are you afraid of dying after all!?
(Kirito): No!
I'm just not ready!
(Kuradeel): Heh heh, is that so!?

Suddenly Kuradeel gets kicked back into a wall by Kisame and pulls his sword out of Kirito, throwing it away.
(Kisame): Kirito!
Are you ok?
(Kirito): I'm fine, but Kuradeel….
(Kisame): Rest, I'll deal with him.
Nodding Kirito watches Kisame stand back up and face Kuradeel.
(Kisame): Don't you dare touch him!
Don't you put your filthy hands on my Little brother again!
I'll kill you, you bastard!
Hearing this widens Kirito's eyes widens when hearing this confused on why Kisame said this.
(Kuradeel): But how!
How could you have possibly broken free from the poison!
It was supposed to last for at least another 10 minutes!
(Kisame): Back when we gave Gofree our crystals I intentionally kept one, just in case I was ever in need of an antidote, I didn't trust giving everything I had to that guy.
Suddenly Asuna comes out of nowhere rushing towards Kirito.
(Asuna): Kirito!
Asuna then pulls out a crystal.
(Asuna): Heal!
Kirito's health goes all the way back up to full and Kirito opens his eyes back up all the way.
(Asuna): I made it….
I made it in time!...
Thank god….
I made it….
I was tracking your position on the map, but then I saw Godfree disappear, I got worried something happened, but you're alive….
I'm not dreaming am I!?
(Kirito): No, you're not, but I only survived thanks to Kisame….
Asuna then widens her eyes.
(Asuna): Kisame!
Asuna turns around to see Kuradeel stand up blade in hand and Kisame ready to face him.
(Kuradeel): Ah-Asuna, I-I can explain everything we were just training when all of a sudden there was this-
Suddenly Kuradeels free arm goes flying off courtesy of Kisame using Samehada, causing Asuna and Kirito to widen their eyes at this.
(Kuradeel): Un, Damn you!
Kuradeel swings his sword as Kisame only for it to be shattered in one swing from Kisame using Samehada.
Kisame then swings Samehada once and in a burst of speed Kuradeel gets hit with a bunch of slashes via red marks shown on his body.
Kuradeel then gets on his hands and knees screaming.
(Kuradeel): I give up, please don't kill me, I'll leave the guild, you'll never see me again I promise!
Please!
I don't wanna die.
Kisame then takes his Fedora off looking at Kuradeel with a cold and emotionless expression, putting the fear of god into the man.
(Kisame): Well that's too bad…..
Because I don't care.
(Kirito): No Kisame don't do it!
Kuradeel then widens his eyes before being beheaded right in front of Asuna and Kirito's eyes, Kuradeels head then explodes into blue glass particles along with the rest of him.
Kisame then puts his fedora back on his head and walks up to the two.
(Kisame): I'll see ya later, Kirito, I'll leave you 2 alone, see you back at base…..
(Kirito): Kisame….
Kisame then looks back one last time before continuing forward.
(Kisame): You're on your own now Kirito, you don't need me anymore…..
Kirito then widens his eyes and stumbles up and walks forward.
(Kirito): Kisame!...
Kirito then stumbles and comes to a stop.
POV: Kirito.
Kirito falls onto his knees seeing his closest friend walk off into the distance, leaving him behind.
Asuna then walks up, kneels down and reaches for his hand, but second guesses it and doesn't grab it.
(Asuna): I'm sorry….this was…all my fault…wasn't it?
Asuna then starts to cry as Kirito looks back at her.
(Kirito): Asuna…
(Asuna): I'm sorry….but I…I should stay away from you…
For your sake….
I know how much Kisame meant to you…..and now he's gone….because of me….
Kirito then grabs Asuna by the shoulder and kisses her, widening her eyes as she accepts the kiss.
Kirito then backs away from their kiss and looks down.
(Kirito): Asuna, my life belongs to you….
I'll give it up for you….
I wanna stay with you until the end.
(Asuna): And I promise, I'll do anything to protect you too.
Forever…no matter what….I swear….
(Kirito): I'll do everything I can….to make sure you get back to the real world….
And trust me it isn't your fault what happened with Kisame, I don't know what made him choose this decision, but it isn't your fault….
(Asuna): Kirito….
Kirito then looks up at Asuna in the eyes.
(Kirito): Asuna, could I…. stay with you for the night?
Asuna then blushes and nods.
Timeskip - 4 hours later
Scene change: Asuna's home on Floor 61
We see Kirito and Asuna finishing tea, before Asuna puts her empty tea cup down causing Kirito to look at her.
(Asuna): Ok!…
Asuna walks over to the light switch and turns the lights off.
She then opens her menu and to Kirito's surprise starts undressing.
Kirito blushes at the unexpected event.
(Asuna): D-don't look, not yet anyway….
Wha-what are you waiting for, get undressed, don't just sit there, it's embarrassing.
Kirito then looks away in surprise.
(Kirito): Un!
N-no wait I didn't…
I mean I just…
All I wanted was to spend the night with you tonight and….
Not the uh-the other thing
Hearing this shocks Asuna as she looks at him with a shocked expression until getting angry.
(Asuna): You-you!
Hearing this freaks Kirito out as Asuna charges at him with a fist skill.
(Asuna): You dummy!
Asuna then hits Kirito in the face knocking him out of his chair.
Timeskip - 15 minutes later
Scene Change: Asuna's bedroom
We see Asuna on her bed sleeping with a lamp on with Kirito sitting beside her.
He then pokes her cheek, waking her as she looks at him with a smile.
(Kirito): Hey, whatcha smiling about?
(Asuna): I was just having a dream.
About my old life.
It was weird….
In the dream I had, everything in Aincrad, everything that happened and me, you, and Kisame was just that.
A dream and I was so scared, but it wasn't….
Thank god it wasn't….
(Kirito): Now that sounds weird.
Don't you wanna go back?
(Asuna): I do it's just, I don't want my life here to disappear, is all.
The last two years have been very special to me, I realize that now.
Listen Kirito?
I was thinking, maybe we could leave the front lines for a while.
(Kirito): What?
(Asuna): I'm scared….
I feel like if we return to the battlefield now something bad is gonna happen.
Or maybe I'm just tired of it all.
(Kirito): I know what you mean, I guess I am too….
In the southwest of floor 22, there's this tiny little village by a lake and a forest.
We could get a house together….and then….
(Asuna): And then what?
(Kirito): And then we get married
Hearing this makes Asuna tear up and cry, putting a hand over her covered heart.
(Asuna): Ok!...
Timeskip - The Next Day
Scene Change: Heathcliff's Office at Headquarters
We see Kirito who's back in his black and white attire with Asuna in front of the Commander.
(Heathcliff): I understand the situation, now I just have to explain it to the rest of the guild.
(Asuna): Also we would like a temporary leave of absence from the guild.
(Heathcliff): Really?
Why?
(Asuna): We have concerns with the current state of the guild and we need time to think.
(Heathcliff): Very well, but both of your duties will have to be done somehow.
(? and ? in Sync): We'll do it.
Heathcliff, Kirito, and Asuna turn to the door to see Mito who Kirito hasn't seen in a while and Kisame who is also back in his regular colored attire, seeing these two surprises both Asuna and Kirito.
(Kirito and Asuna in sync): Mito, Kisame!?
(Mito): Hey, long time no see Kirito.
Kisame was telling me about what happened and how you guys wanted to take a leave of absence, well we can fill in for you 2 while you're gone.
Hearing this confused the 2 as they hadn't told Kisame about this nor was he there, so both of them looked at him to see him with a shark grin on his face.
(Kisame): I figured you 2 needed a break after what happened, so I just guessed you would take one and looked around for someone until I saw an old face I recognized.
(Heathcliff): Well anyway, you 2 can go now.
Hearing this makes the 2 look at each other and then look back at Heathcliff.
(Heathcliff): Although I doubt you 2 will be gone from the battlefield for long.
Hearing this confuses Mito, but makes Kirito, Asuna, and Kisame look at him with a serious look.
Kirito and Asuna then walk out the door leaving Kisame, Mito, with Heathcliff.
(Heathcliff): So, Kisame, Mito, do you 2 really think you're gonna be able to live up to the task of second in command as well as the new frontline commander?
(Mito): Yes, sir!
I am fully ready to take Asuna's place in her stead commander!
(Kisame): I suppose I have no other choice but to do it, Kirito is on his little vacation and with the sad passing of Godfree, I have no choice but to accept.
