Chapter 2
"Ma'am, we will fall out of light speed in a few minutes". Lieutenant Lurac stood behind Rilua. He was an Erseth, a species that primarily existed in the unknown regions but some of them live in the republic. Their most prominent features are their very humanoid appearance, so that one might assume that they were human, however, their skin is slightly tainted orange, they have orange eyes and can only have brown hair. Their organs are organised vastly different and their blood circulation resembles more the one of a spider than the one of a human. "Good. I want the shields to be ready in case the Chief of Fleet was right", she says as she turns away from the window. "Yes, Ma'am!", the Lieutenant salutes and runs off. "Shall I ready the boarding units? In case of a boarding?". The Admiral nearly jumped, as her adjutant suddenly stood right next to her. "You can't keep doing that", she told him. "I can't ready the troops? If I may ask, why can't I do that?", he looked at her, visibly confused. "I was referring to suddenly standing behind me or next to me. It always scares the heck out of me", she replied. "I understand. I apologise if my way of... walking... was a disturbing presence on the bridge. I will try to adapt", he replied, "Now, shall I ready the troops?". "Yes, do that"she said and dismissed him with the movement of her hand. He walked off to the turbolift. Rilua sat down in the captain's chair of the Loyalty, an MC80-Liberty-type and flagship of the 22nd fleet. With a loud bang, the 22nd fleet came out of hyperspace. "Shields up!", Rilua ordered. With a humming, the shields came to life. "Any contacts?", she asked, turning to Lieutenant Ola'ren, a Mon Calamari of 27 years age. "No, ma'am. Nothing besides our own ships", he replied. "Good. Send the fighters to scout", she ordered and turned back to the window. A few minutes later, the X-Wings and A-Wings hurtled past the bridge of the Loyalty, resembling a swarm of bees.
The hours ticked by and Admiral Rilua got increasingly nervous that her scouts still have not found anything. The turbolift opened and Liston stepped out of it. "I sent the boarding troops back to their quarters. They're no use standing around for hours and being tired when the actual battle happens", he said as he walked over to the captain's chair.
"Alright. Anything else to report?"
"No, ma'am. However, I do have a question"
"Go ahead"
"Did you order the fighters to report regularly or when something happens?"
"When something happens, why? ... Oh shit. Ready the remaining fighters and the bombers immediately! Charge the turbolasers!"
The bridge crew began running around wildly. Some even tripped and fell to the ground. Suddenly, Lieutenant Ola'ren looked up from his screens: "Ma'am, there are multiple unidentified objects emerging from hyperspace!".
With a flash of light, an entire fleet of imperial ships emerged from hyperspace.
