Chapter 1
It had been almost a year since Mavis and Johnny left to see the world, so far everything in the hotel was doing great, Dracula added more activities and events to the hotel, and the guests were having more fun than ever. Dracula and Ericka relationship grew and grew, eventually they moved into the same room together, took nighttime flights whenever they could, and they would be busy with hotel business but always found time to just be together. Every couple of weeks or so Ericka would receive a postcard, letter, or a package from Mavis and Johnny, telling them where they've been, what they did, and sent home a few souvenirs. Dracula would miss having his little girl around but at least he knew some one is looking out for her.
Ericka had just handed over the room key to the guest when the suit of armor came running up to the reception desk.
"Miss, this just came in the mail," he said as handed over the postcard over to the red-headed vampire.
"Oh thanks," Ericka said. She looks at the front of the card revealing the Eiffel tower, she flipped it back, and read it quietly to herself.
Ericka gasped in excitement and almost immediately started to sprint through the lobby to find Dracula.
"Yes, yes, I'll take care of it," Dracula said to one of his guests. He turns his head slightly and saw Ericka running toward him then came to a halt.
"What is it sweet-fangs?" Dracula asked sweetly.
Ericka smiled and handed his the postcard, "I just got this today." Dracula began to read:
Dear Ericka ,
How are you? How's dad? We're doing great until Johnny got food poisoning but he's fine now. Anyway I just wanted to say that we'll be coming home in a week. I can't wait to see you guys again! See you then!
Love Mavis
P.S. Johnny says "Hi!"
Dracula's face lit up, he hugged Ericka lifting her up, and spun her around once. "They're coming home!"
"I know!" Ericka said happily.
"We need to start planning a welcome home party," he said obviously excited.
"She said they'll be home in a week I sure that's plenty of time," Ericka pointed out.
"Oh but first, we need to send out letters to everyone," he continued on.
By family he is, of course, referring to Wayne, Wanda, their litter of about twenty-four pups and recently they had triples making it twenty-seven, Frank, his wife Eunice and his twins Alex and Hank, Murray, and Griffin. Almost as soon as he mentioned letters he rushed over to get paper, envelope, pen and quickly wrote each letter.
He handed the letters to the zombie, "I want these in express mail asap."
"Uhhnngh," the zombie nodded and walked off.
Dracula turned his attention to Ericka , "Alright, we need to talk to the kitchen staff about catering, look over and schedule activities, we need to get the ballroom area cleaned, and I think we'll need a cake."
"Ok let's not go overboard sweetie."
Dracula laughed, "Sorry, I'm just so excited."
"I know I'm excited too, but let's go over what ideas we have first," Ericka smiled.
The two vampires pretty much spent the rest of the day making a list of what to do for the welcome home party. One of the ideas included a scavenger hunt, a dance off, and an outdoor buffet. Eventually the day was through, Dracula and Ericka went to their room for some sleep.
Ericka was in the bathroom which was also attached to the bedroom, brushing out her white short hair before braiding it. She wore a red and black trim silk nightgown with short sleeves that came down to her knees. When she stepped out , Dracula was all ready for bed and laying back with a small notebook. She sat down next to him and snuggles up a bit closer.
"What'cha doing?" Ericka asked.
"Oh, just looking over what we have so far," he replied still looking over the list.
"And how is it?"
"So far so good, maybe we can think of a couple more things then try to fit it all into a schedule," Dracula then set down the little notebook on the side of the table and wrapped his arm around Ericka's shoulders. She responded by moving herself closer and placing her arm over his chest. Dracula let out a deep sigh.
"What?" Ericka asked looking up.
"Oh I was just thinking."
"Thinking about what?"
"Something."
"Like what?"
Dracula replied with a smile. "Oh come on tell me-" Ericka was cut off by Dracula's lips pressed against hers. She was surprised at first but closed her eyes returning the kiss. After a few seconds, they broke apart for air. "I'll tell you later love," he cooed. Ericka smiled and the two settled in under the covers and eventually fell asleep.
