Without realizing it, they'd moved to the front of the line. They quickly got pictures of their mugs before filling them with coffee - all except Colin. He playfully used Penelope's mug to fill up his tiny one with the most amount of coffee it could hold.
Penelope could stop herself from laughing as he drank from the tiny mug. She felt like she couldn't stop laughing and smiling around Colin.
As everyone else drank their coffee, Colin looked around at all the people. "This is insane. You really do this every week?"
"Mostly, unless I have a crazy Friday night. But those have been few and far between lately." Penelope said smiling. The first group of jumpers was lining up.
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Colin asked.
"Definitely a good thing. I can't bounce back the way I used to when I was twenty." Penelope said.
"When was that? A year or two ago?" Colin joked.
"No, more like four years ago." Penelope smiled. "How old are you?"
"I just turned 30 last month," Colin said.
"Did Eloise mention that you traveled for work? Was it writing?" Penelope asked. She knew that he was a travel blogger. But she toned it down, so she wouldn't come off too strong.
"Yeah," Colin sighed.
"Whoa, that's a big sigh. What's wrong?" Penelope asked.
"I'm considering a different career. I miss home and I've traveled for so long. But I don't know what else to do." Colin said.
"Are you looking for me to commiserate with you or offer advice?" Penelope asked. She had a soft smile on her face.
"That sounds like therapy speaks." Colin smiled. But before Penelope could react, he added "advice, please."
"Well, it depends if you still want to write or not. It can be hard to distinguish yourself. I'm trying to build a food blog, and it's an uphill battle. But if you already have sponsors and dedicated readers, maybe you could turn your writings into a book. Or if you're done with writing, maybe try to find what you're passionate about." Penelope said. After she finished speaking, she finished her coffee. Looking back up at him, Colin was staring at her gobsmacked.
Trying to lighten things up, "Well that got deep quick. Sorry for butting into your career plans before I've known you a full day." Penelope nervously chuckled.
Before Colin could reassure her that he didn't mind and actually appreciated her insight, Eloise called out.
"Okay, is everyone ready to jump in? Let's get in line." The coffee seemed to perk up Eloise.
"Here we go!" Penelope said jumping up to get in line.
"Whoo-hoo!" Phillip said.
They all turned to Colin. He was still staring at Penelope as if Eloise hadn't said anything.
"Colin, my dude, time to jump," Phillip said, clapping a hand on his back. Colin blinked and shook his head. Then he smiled at the group.
"I'm in. Let's see what all the hype is about." Colin said.
