Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail.

"Lucy! Oh, Luuuuuucy! Hey, Lucy!"

There was no way Lucy could bare this endless repeating of her name. It was getting right on her nerves and was impossible to ignore. She lifted her gaze from the open book in front of her to direct it at the figure standing over him. Her brown eyes narrowed at the sight of him. They were filled with irritation over how he'd been endlessly calling her while standing there for the past half hour.

"What is it, Natsu?" she sighed. "Can't a girl read in peace around here?"

"You might wanna put that book to one side…" Natsu grinned, his hands held behind his back. "'Cause I've managed to find one I think you'll wanna read right away!"

"What are you talking about, Natsu?" Lucy muttered, turning away from her fellow Mage. "You know I'll gladly read any book, but there's no way I'm gonna stop in the middle of one I'm engaged in to start another. You can give me that book you've found by all means, but it's gonna have to wait until I've finished this one!"

Is that so?" Natsu's grinned widened. "Even if I were to tell you that the title of this book is … Fairy Tail?"

"What?!" Lucy instantly directed her gaze back towards Natsu, her face filling with surprise over what he'd told her. "You mean to tell me you found a book … actually called Fairy Tail?"

Natsu nodded, amused by the blonde's reaction. He pulled his hands out from behind his back to reveal he was holding a huge book. It had countless thick pages inside that were sandwiched between its hardback front and rear covers.

"Where did you find that?" Lucy asked, her eyes shining as they fixed to the book in the boy's hands.

"At the Magic Library. Happy and I were visiting there in search of books for you, as we know how much you love 'em. The title of that one certainly caught our eye. We checked it out without hesitation to bring it to you."

Lucy directed the astonished look on her face to the one who had borrowed it from the library - to give to her. She was moved by how Natsu had been looking for something to give to her that was to do with her interests. He must've been just as surprised as she was to discover there was a book entitled Fairy Tail.

"What do you think this book is all about?" Lucy wondered aloud.

"No idea." Natsu rubbed his chin. "Perhaps it covers the history of our guild. Who knows? It may even mention us and go into detail about all the adventures we'd been on."

An amazed gasp escaped Lucy. The thought of a book which was all about her and her friends, describing the journeys and missions they had been on together, was astounding for the young Mage. People everywhere could learn about all she had been on with her fellow guild members. It was all on record in this book for anyone and everyone to read.

"Do you think this book really is all about us?" Lucy asked hopefully.

"You're the book lover!" Natsu smiled broadly as he opened the book to the first page of text. "Why don't you find out - by reading it?"

With her heart racing with excitement, Lucy took the book from Natsu. No longer was she interested in the one on the table she'd been lost in. This one which seemed to be all about the guild she belonged to was far more intriguing by a long shot.

Holding the book in front of her, Lucy cleared her throat, then began to eagerly read the first lines of text aloud for Natsu to hear.

Once upon a time, there was a pretty little girl. She lived with her wicked stepmother who had her dressed in rags and treated her like a servant. She had such a hard life, but was so unfailingly kind. If there-"

"Hang on!" Natsu cut Lucy off, a bewildered look on his face over what he was hearing was written in the book. "That doesn't sound anything like Fairy Tail!"

The smile on Lucy's face vanished. It was replaced by an irked frown. She directed it at the person who had brought her the book.

"That's because this isn't a book on Fairy Tail, Natsu; it's a book of fairy tales!"

"Huh?"

Growling at the dumbfounded boy, Lucy slammed the book shut before rising from her chair. She held it up in front of Natsu's face with one hand, using the other to point to the words in the front cover.

"If you actually bothered to take a second to look at this book, Natsu, you would have seen that it has Fairy Tales written on it, not Fairy Tail!"

"Fairy Tail, fairy tales…" Natsu shrugged. "What's the difference?"

Lucy's face turned red. She couldn't believe the careless remark Narsu was carelessly stating. An avid book reader like herself knew there was a huge difference in the words he thought meant the same thing.

"So I'm guessing you don't want this book, Lucy?" Natsu inquired. "That'd be a first for you…"

"Oh, on the contrary, I fully intend to keep this book." An ominous smirk crossed Lucy's face. "I have a perfectly good use for it…"

"You do?" Natsu smiled obliviously. "What's that?"

"THIS!"

With all her strength gathered, Lucy raised the book high above her head before bringing it down with such force - to whack it onto the top of Natsu's head.

"OW!" Natsu cried, rubbing the spot where the girl had assaulted him with the book. "Hey, that wasn't cool, Lucy! You could've given me brain damage by doing that!"

"No chance of that, Natsu. You don't have a brain to damage!"

Slinking back into her chair, Lucy opened the book back up. She returned to the page she'd been reading aloud, preparing to continue. Despite what she had claimed earlier, she had forgotten about the book she'd been in the middle of upon starting this one. She was determined to read it from end to end - even if it wasn't all about Fairy Tail.

"If there was one thing this girl was hopeful for, it was to find the love of her life and live happily ever after."

All of Lucy's annoyance subsided as she smiled warmly once again. She held her hands together in front of her face, staring brightly down at the book which had managed to captive her.

"That's so sweet! I can really relate to this girl! I hope to find the love of my life some day!"

Lucy sat where she was with closed eyes. She beamed as she fantasised about the idea of getting married and living happily nearby…

…not realising that her one true love was standing over her, letting off a groan as he rubbed his head from being hit by the book he'd given her.

"Boy!" Narsu muttered. "I feel sorry for the poor guy who ends up with you! He won't be living happily ever after!"

"Oh, shut up, Natsu!"
