Somewhere in a locked cellar...

It was often said that conflicts end in happiness, many of them are bittersweet when sacrifices are made, but still. The only feasible problem is that not everybody can be bound to the same rules of happiness. As everything has a price to pay, the vigorous truth is that sometimes, people never hold their honesty for each other. Instead, they opt to do the opposite and favor those around them too.

Heroism and goodness have a price, the lines between them become jaded by the time humanity learns. The ideas of love, sex, religion, culture, politics, history, and anarchy showcase fully why there can never be any trust towards another. As everybody is only in it for their self-preservation. And in return, a cost after so much goodness and heroism is made, there can only be sacrifices.

The steaming piles of corpses of both new and old Class VII on the floor prove so...

Brutally mutilated as if they died trying to fight their aggressor, their cold bodies linger on the floor as a frightened girl in the distance started crying in pain. Her hands were nailed to the brick walls as blood started falling, tears falling down her cheeks in agony. It was revealed to be Atlina Orion, the most emotional among Class VII, and to another homunculus Millium Orion, who had also been killed too. Her teeth were clenching, this was madness, grief, and insanity closing in on her psychological health. Giving her PTSD as if she was in a vehicular crash. There was no end in sight in front of her.

Suddenly, thwacks of what appear to be a metallic chain have heard a distance away. Was she going to be rescued or was her perpetrator going to be identified?

It actually turns out to be just the latter, after a while of standing behind in the dark, a figure emerged in front of Atlina Orion standing in front of her. She couldn't believe it in her eyes to be true, but it was no dream or nightmare. Her heart sank below the bottom of the decks once the figure appeared she never expected.

It was the hero of the Erebonian Empire, her instructor, and pilot of the divine knight Valimar. Rean Schwarzer.

"I-Instructor Rean..." Atlina muttered under her breath as she cried. The man standing in front of her was no more. As Rean appeared with a sadistic grin on his face to mask the very kindness that Jusis had pointed out. It was ultimately clear that everything was for nothing in the end.

"I never thought I imagined everything would come to this." Rean chuckled as he continued holding the chain whip in his bloodied hands. "But I wasn't going to kill you like the rest of them, I figured seeing them dead would open your eyes more. About how betrayal feels when everything you sacrificed for means nothing."

"S-So after this whole time, the concept of 'light' before darkness was for nothing?" Atlina muttered to him as she breathed in fear.

"Maybe, I guess everybody in my life was a joke in front of me, it's why only the cure of nihilism will be done." Rean explained as he stepped closer to her body, Atlina's mouth stuttered as she clenched her teeth. "But you know what, Atlina? I never cared about you this whole time after the Great Twilight ended. It seems that everything I accomplished was to fool you, the same way how I fooled the girl I loved with."

"B-But you did! Your honesty speaks true the way your kindness was there for me!" Atlina cried as she was sobbing in pain and distress. "You were there, you showed everybody how you were right and said goodbye to your real family that demonstrated what everything could be!"

"Sure, everything, but Ishmelga's influence lingers inside me, unfortunately." Rean frowned at Atlina as he looked crueler to her. "As a result, I can never hold as a reincarnated body of Emperor Dreichles just like my father Osborne. I instead will live on a glorious journey that will revolutionize this society once the people I knew and love are gone."

"Because when the world is empty, nobody will need us anymore." Rean held up the chain whip ready to savagely beat Atlina, the girl in his class that he constantly saved.

"I-Instructor Rean..." Atlina tried to voice up for him to listen. He ignored her plea as Rean was ready.

Rean raised his chain whip high in the air, unlike his weapon that he became a Divine Blade, Rean opted for other weapons to suit his sadistic needs.

"INSTRUCTOR REAN!" It was too much as Atlina struggled, but she couldn't escape the daggers pierced through her hands.

Rean whacks Atlina on her forehead, causing blood to spill from the top of her head down to her waist. Rean's stoic glare looks at Atlina coldly as he kept hitting her savagely with the chain whip mercilessly. There was no sign that he was stopping, that Rean was going to keep beating her until Atlina's face was no longer seen.

"F-FUCK!" Atlina screamed in pain as Rean continue viciously whacking her with the chain whip in his hand. Hell, he could already have killed his sister that way, but doing this with Atlina made him feel fun as his sadistic grin increased.

"PLEASE!" Atlina continued shaking, there was no use to her resisting.

At last, Atlina's screams that seemingly echoed around the dark hallways for hours underneath the chamber they were in, she passed out as her head and skull were both destroyed. Rean can finally no longer "see" her face ever again. As Atlina's body slumped down on the floor below lifelessly.

Rean's work was done, but like all the other victims he was tortured, mutilated, and eaten. His clothes were a mess and his hands were bloodied. He drops the chain whip to the floor and leaves the room, from there, Rean used his blade to destroy the lightbulb. Making the whole chamber pitch black darkness.

With his work complete, Rean moves on to his business to find more victims in Crossbell...
