Tw/ mentions of verbal abuse and an abusive boss
After hearing the front door shut, Spinel dashed to see Steven in front of the door to greet him and ask him how his day was at work. However, she saw Steven with tears in his eyes. "What's wrong Stevie?" Spinel asked. After a few sniffles, Steven finally spoke. "I-I...I had a bad day at work" Steven responded in a sad tone.
"You wanna talk about it hon?" Spinel asked. "Y-Yeah" Steven responded. "Alright come with me!" Spinel said as she grabbed Steven's hand taking him to the couch just so they can talk and relax. "So what happened?" Spinel asked Steven after they both got on the couch. "I- *hic*...w-was doing m-m-my best to work as hard as I can *sniff* but but my boss kept putting so much pressure on me to work harder, criticizing me over things that shouldn't be criticized over, shaming me for my appearance, and calling me things such as worthless, useless, and lazy causing me to become stressed and believe the things she said about me were true" Steven said.
"What were the things she was criticizing you for?" Spinel asked Steven. "She criticized me over tiny things like that one time I gave her a red ink pen instead of a blue ink pen" Steven responded. "How does she put pressure on you, Steven?" Spinel asked. "She threatens to rip of pictures of Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Connie, Peridot, Lapis, Bismuth, my dad, and you if I don't work hard enough even though I'm working as hard as I can" Steven responded. "How does she shame you for your appearance?" Spinel asked.
"She comments on my facial appearance calling me ugly, hideous, grotesque, horrid, deformed, disfigured, repulsive, and gross" Steven replied. "Steven, none of the things she said about you are true" Spinel replied. "This includes her calling you lazy, worthless, and useless" Spinel continued. "She shouldn't be treating you in any horrible way at all" Spinel said. "How long has this been happening for?" Spinel asked.
"About a year" Steven replied. "Why didn't you tell me about this earlier?" Spinel asked. "I didn't realize I was being verbally abused by my own boss until now" Steven responded. "Can't you just quit your job and get a new one?" Spinel asked. Well now that I realize I'm working with a horrible boss, yes I can "Steven replied.
"I'll quit tomorrow" Steven said. "Alright!" Said happily knowing Steven is gonna get a new job with a better boss. "Can we cuddle?" Steven asked. "Sure sweetie!" Spinel said in a happy tone. Spinel and Steven then went to their room to cuddle.
Spinel and Steven layed down on the bed and wrapped their arms around each other. Steven started to sob with happiness. "Why are you crying?" Spinel asked. "Because you're there for me whenever I'm in need of someone's help" Steven replied still crying tears of joy. "Thank you, Spinel!" Steven said.
"You're welcome, Steven!" Spinel replied. "I love you" Steven said. "I love you too" Spinel replied. Steven then kisses Spinel all over her face. Spinel giggles after each kiss Steven gives her.
"So what's your new job gonna be?" Spinel asked. "I've always wanted to work at a flower shop so maybe I'll work there" Steven responded. "Sounds good to me" Spinel replied in a happy tone.
