"Hey El," Liv said softly as she walked into Elliot's hospital room with a tired smile.

It had been a horrible day, two of their own having been injured and two good people dying before their time in a court-room shooting due to a father and son's deranged thinking, thank goodness for Elliot and the FBI agent though or the blood shed might have lasted a lot longer, Liv thought to herself as she pulled a chair up to his bedside and sat down "has anyone called Kathy?"

"Hey partner, no they haven't and Liv please don't."

"Why not? I know things are hard for you guys right now but I know she still"-

"She doesn't she mailed divorce papers to me last week."

"Ohh El I'm so sorry..."

He shook his head "don't be I've been waiting on them for a while. I signed them and took them to the courthouse the other day but with how crazy this case has been I haven't had a good opportunity to tell you."

She nodded slightly understanding "so you're okay?"

He nodded "more than the child support payments are more than reasonable, we're amicable and I get to still have the twins every other weekend."

Why is he taking this so damn well? Olivia wondered as she nodded "that's good El it really is, how's your arm?"

"Ohh it hurts like a bitch but don't tell anyone I said that."

She chuckled slightly "your secret's safe with me."

Elliot nodded and cracked a small smile but it faded quickly "how'd they get the guns in?"

Olivia's expression grew serious too "uh Christopher Rollings he was the adult shooter he's a member of RAW he had a fake badge and ID."

"So he wouldn't have to go through the metal detector."

Olivia nodded her head "they let him straight through, he handed a gun to Kyle Ackerman right after."

Elliot nodded sadly "any casualties?"

"One of the court officers is still touch and go the other one didn't make it..." she paused for a second "and neither did judge Skylar."

"Damn..." he whispered as he looked away and swallowed hard "you talk to Brian Ackerman?" he asked as there were hints of anger and sadness in his voice.

"Yeah he said he was proud that his son Kyle died a hero fighting for his race," she said softly.

"Wow..." he whispered in a loss for words as he just shook his head "how's John doing?"

"He's doing okay he's gonna make a full recovery but his bottom is gonna be sore for a while."

"Yeah I bet. That's probably gonna be NYPD gossip for a while."

"Yeah probably so. You want me to call one of the kids for you?"

"No I don't wanna worry them. I'd love it if you could stay for a little while though."

"I can b-but are you sure that's what you want?"

"I'm positive partner you're company is the best medicine I can ask for right now," he said and they spent the next few hours taking a trip down memory lain and telling each other funny stories.
