Emergency Date
Takina Inoue walked into a high-end restaurant with her eyes darting from one side to the other. Takina's partner/girlfriend Chisato Nishikigi had told her that she had found information on a client, and wanted to meet her here. Naturally, Takina questioned the practicality of discussing top-secret information in a public place, but once Chisato set her mind on something, nothing short of an act of God would get her to change her mind.
Takina shook her head with a small smile gracing her lips at the thought of her girlfriend/partner as she walked into the restaurant, which was almost filled to the brim with patrons, the sounds of forks clattering into plates and various discussions swirling around Takina's ears. Takina then looked around, completely ignoring the server standing behind the podium, looking for the head of white hair that belonged to Chisato.
After a couple of minutes of ambling around the restaurant, Takina finally found who she was looking for, as she saw Chisato sitting all the way in the back of the restaurant, smiling as if nothing was going on. The smile on Chisato's face grew as she noticed Takina coming her way, not being able to hide her giggle at the focused glare Takina had on her face as she scanned the restaurant for perceived threats.
"Takina, you made it!" Chisato exclaimed happily as she jumped over the table to give Takina a hug that almost knocked her off of her feet. Takina, with her face now red as a tomato and noticing all the attention that Chisato was bringing them, decided to break the hug prematurely and get down to business.
"Of course, now I understand that you have some information pertinent to a case I'm working on?"
"Hmmmmm…nope," was all Chisato said before shrugging her shoulders and handing a menu to Takina, seemingly ignoring Takina's mouth flying agape in surprise. Takina ignored the menu being pushed in her direction as she was still shocked by Chisato's admission.
"What!? But…your email said—"
"—that I wanted to talk to you. I never said it had anything to do with work."
"I mentioned it multiple times in subsequent correspondences, and you never corrected me."
"You've been so busy lately that I felt like you deserved some time to relax. Mainly with me. And I knew that if you thought you'd be coming to an important meeting, you wouldn't even hesitate in coming," Chisato said with a laugh. Takina sighed before sitting down in front of her menu, slightly irritated that she couldn't argue with Chisato's point; she had been working too hard recently. A date with Chisato sounded great, but Takina was still annoyed at the treachery that had taken place to get her here in the first place.
"You know, if you wanted to take me out on another date, all you had to do was ask. I'm sorry if I made you think this was the only way to get my attention," Takina apologized, looking away from Chisako, which did not stop Chisako from kissing Takina on the cheek and ruffling her hair.
"Yeah, but you look so cute when you're all serious and focused," Chisako cooed. Takina rolled her eyes while blushing before grabbing a menu, and putting it close to her face to try and hide her blush. Chisato smiled blissfully at the adorable sight in front of her as the waiter approached them, seemingly ready to take their orders.
