"Ok do I look okay?" Alli turns to face her two best friends Clare and Jenna. She was about to meet Dave's parents for the first time say she was nervous was an understatement but then again she has never met a boyfriend's parents well technically she met Drew's mother but she was so judgy and wasn't really in a home setting but she's happily in love with Dave he was the first real boyfriend she loves. She takes a look in her mirror "Maybe I'll change this dress" she starts to doubt.
Clare and Jenna looked at each other than at Alli they were helping Alli get ready for this luckily it was a Friday night and no school tomorrow and Clare convinced Eli to let the Romeo and Jules rehearsals end a little earlier to let Dave have time to pick Alli up on time so Clare will make it up to Eli that was the easy part. "Alli, you look perfect Dave loves you" Clare assured the smaller girl. She was so happy for Alli. She loves her so much.
"Clare's right Dave loves you and you look amazing, especially that plum colour" Jenna adds looking in between Alli and Clare.
Alli grins ear to ear "Thank you girls" she takes Clare and Jenna's hand squeezing tightly "I love you both so very much you both truly are like my sisters" she glances at them both before hugging them into a group hug. She lets go and fixes herself, 'I'm ready. Now, where is my bag?' Alli starts to look.
Clare spots it she picks it up "Here you need this" she smiles, Alli takes the bag and mouthed thank you.
The door went "I guess that's me I'll talk to you girls tomorrow" Alli exclaims as she opens the door nervous but also excited as she walks down the steps to see Dave dressed in a navy blue dress shirt and black trousers, he looks up speechless seeing his girlfriend.
"Woah Alli you look gorgeous I mean you always do but-" he gaze in her dark brown eyes which perfectly brings out the plum in her dress.
"You don't look bad yourself" Alli grins she kisses his cheek taking his hand as her cheeks had a hint of red from blushing.
"Ready to go?" Dave was so excited especially since his mother was making her world famous fried chicken which she swears by make you feel good" he chuckles as he leads Alli to his car opening up the passenger's side for her.
Alli got in the car and fastened up "I can't wait to try it out" she said honestly while Dave started to drive to his house.
Around ten minutes later Dave parked his car getting out to let Alli out "My queen" he faked a Shakespearen accent it was clear Eli's play Romeo and Jules got him into character even though the accent wasn't required.
Alli shook her head playfully. "You've been listening to Eli too much," she teased.
Dave grins "Well I am Romeo and you my Juliet then" he kisses her lips sweetly.
Alli smiles in the kiss blushing as she feels butterflies in her stomach "Then that case I'll be your queen my king" she giggles "And we should go inside your parents wondering where we are" she pointed out as their hands interlocked reaching for the door.
With one free hand Dave opened the door he led Alli into his home which had a warm feeling. In the kitchen where Dave's mother was cooking up dinner she was humming to a song on the radio, "Mum? Dad? I'm home!" He announced as his dad appeared wearing a checked shirt and trousers, he remembered Alli from when he had to get her and Dave out of that poker game last year.
"Mr Turner thank you for having me over" Alli shook his hands, Dave smiled at his girlfriend he was happy his parents gave Alli another chance. After Dave told them about Alli's poker addiction and could've been in a dangerous situation they could tell Alli was a genuine person.
"It no problem Alli, my wife and I are happy you came and Dave told us a lot about you" he ushered the pair into the dining room sitting down at the long table.
"He did now?" Alli smiles and sits down, Dave's mum comes in with the food passing it around.
Mrs Turner sat down "He did and I hear you working on something in the lab?" She digs into her food while looking at Alli.
"I am hoping to create this breathalyser to determine early signs of breast cancer to try prevent the cells from becoming cancerous" Alli explains proudly she thought about this after her aunt passed away with breast cancer and wanted to try help people especially since the medical system is fixed.
Mrs and Mr Turner were impressed "That's really impressive and you still have time for your school work?" The older man asked.
"Absolutely Mr Simpson let me use the labs at school when I need to" Alli starts to eat.
"Your parents must be proud Dave told us you were smart and we need more women in stem"
"They are and I agree" Alli grins, she hopes Dave's parents like her since her parents already like Dave.
"What other hobbies and interests do you have other than science of course?" Mrs Turner asks curiously with her sweet smile.
"Well I do like fashion. I going for the latest trends, I do love music and enjoying time with my two best friends" Alli tells them smiling big.
"Very interesting, what music do you like?" Mr Turner asks.
"Nelly Fernando, One Direction, Little Mix, anything that's on the radio" Alli exclaims.
"Well it's really lovely having you Alli. We can see how much you make our son happy."
Alli appercepted that a lot especially since her exes mothers have been judgmental or don't even know her. "Thank you again I appreciate this a lot and you raised your son so wonderful" she beams happily.
They ate the rest of dinner chatting away Dave's parents really love Alli a lot they adore her and hopefully one day they meet her parents and the parents can bond.
