Chapter 11

After a few minutes, Mark and Jack finished their conversation. Mark left the house and drove home. Jack went back into the garage and continued to work on Roxy. The next day, Jack placed the last part onto Roxy. "Finally. Good as new." He walked out of the garage and sat down on the sofa. He took a deep breath, before realizing something. "Cassie!"

Jack jumped off the sofa and went back into the garage. He got into his car and drove towards the hospital. After arriving, he got out of the car and walked inside. Jack walked up to the receptionist and said: "I'm here to see my daughter." "What's her name, sir?" "Cassie." The receptionist told Jack what room Cassie was in, he slowly walked to it, and saw two people waiting outside the room.

One of them was an adult with blonde hair, the other was a twelve year old boy. "Vanessa?" says Jack. The adult turned to Jack and said: "Hi Jack." "Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it?" "Yep, quite a while." Jack then looked down at the boy and said: "Oh, hello there. What's your name?" The boy slowly looked up at Jack and said: "Gregory."

"Gregory? Hang on, weren't you at my daughter's birthday party at the Pizzaplex?" "Yeah. I heard what happened, so I wanted to know if she was ok." "Well why don't you come in? I'm sure she'd be happy to see you." Gregory looked down, Vanessa puts a hand on his shoulder and says: "Sorry, but I just remembered that I need to get to a work meeting. So we have to go now."

Vanessa grabbed Gregory's hand and they both walked away. Jack raised a hand and said: "Bye Vanessa." Vanessa looked back at Jack and said: "Bye Jack." She then turned and walked Gregory out of the hospital. Jack sighed before opening the door and walking in the room. He looked over and saw Cassie lying on the bed. "Cassie?" She then slowly sat up and said: "Dad?"

Jack quickly rushed over and wrapped his arms around Cassie. "Oh Cassie! I'm so sorry! I should have come sooner!" She slowly hugged Jack back, before saying: "It's ok dad. I'm fine now." He put his hands on Cassie's shoulders and said: "Listen. I'm sorry for what happened to you, but I'm going to make it up to you. Everything is going to get better now. I promise."
