Midnight was outside cleaning the ground by picking up sticks with magic, and he was in need of some talking to his friends, "Midnight are you truely in fear, that you'll lose what you hold most dear?" The spirital Zecora asked but Midnight kept picking up sticks for a bit before replieing, "I don't know Zecora, I think I'm more worried about what they would say if they knew what my ability is, I'm sure they've noticed that I lack a Cutie mark, eventually they might start figuring things out. And if they are watching me right now then how do I explain the floating sticks?" Midnight took a seat, moving the sticks to a distant location. Every spirit with Midnight was looking between each other again, but stopped when they realized that, "E-excuse me?" Fluttershy said, causing Midnight to sharply turn to face her, "I was wondering how you were causing the sticks to float..." Fluttershy added to her previous statement. Midnight sat for a bit, and wondered how to tell her about his ability in a simple way, "Okay, so you know how everypony has some special talent, well... I can copy those and more. Basically anything that Earth Ponies can't usually do. And yes, that means I can fly and teleport as well," Midnight explained leaving out an important detail, his own origin, but it seemed Fluttershy wasn't the only one to question Midnight's little ability as Twilight Sparkle soon said, "Then could you explain how that Changeling knew you?" and that caused Midnight to look towards Twilight. "Guess you got that part, huh? They were my mother, Marshmellow, an admiral Changeling, and they left me and my father when I was only five. It was around that point that I started having this 'dream' you could call it, but I'll leave it here..." Midnight said as Lucky and another pony, they had a black mane, a blue coat, a cutie mark depicting a setting sun and the features of a Bat pony, bat wings, fangs, and red eyes. Midnight knew this Pony, they were an old friend... Dusk. "Well, Midnight, you finally showed up," Dusk said to the Pitch black Copycat.
"So... Luck, single handedly... found the hideout of Chrysalis and Marshmellow?" Midnight asked, "I expected it, that's why I asked for him... his luck came handy again," Midnight added before Zero looked at Midnight confused, "You called fors my luck? That is sweets!" Zero/Luck said as Midnight nodded his head... Midnight took Luck and Dusk's map and looked at it closely holding it up with his magic, and the Mane 6 were also hovering over Midnight's shoulder as he looked over the map, with a X right where the hideout is. "Alright, if we are all going then I'll need to know what monsters Chrysalis and Marshmellow have, the more we know the better," Midnight stated as he opened the door and started searching through his stash of weapons, he had a varaity of weapon each with a different purpose in mind... but none were more apaling than the swords, some looked to have been from legends. However, it seemed that Midnight wasn't going to let his friends go unequiped, "Right... If the Mane 6 are going along then they'll need equipment. I have plenty, don't worry. And if you need anything more I will be able to help, meanwhile I'll give Shadowmare some attention," Midnight said as he walked towards Shadowmare, giving the little Shadow cat some pets.
The Mane 6 grabbed weapons that they felt suited them... except Fluttershy, "W-why would we n-need weapons? C-can't we talk things out?" The timid pegasus asked to which Midnight had a answer... just, not a clear one, "Between life and death a good weapon can decide, but a bad one never lies..." giving Fluttershy more questions than answers. Dusk and Zero/Luck were staring out of the window when a Purple Unicorn with an hourglass for their cutie mark showed up sprinting to the front door, which they opened promptly, "Midnight, you said they you know where Marshmellow is?" He said with a large hint of excitment, to which Midnight nodded and replied with, "Yeah, I know you wanna get some form of revenge after what happened about 15 years ago. Especially for all of the Ponies that had been hurt by Chrysalis and the admiral Changelings... including Marshmellow!" Midnight wasn't usually one to get revenge but with the fact that Marshmellow excuted a plan flawlessly and freed Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow from the Statue, who knew what else they had planned... "I see you have friends here, hello I am Brendan, Midnight's father, I'm also a master of Time magic..." the Unicorn said to the Mane 6 as they group of 10 (Technically 16 if we count the spirits) Ponies and 1 shadow cat set out to start putting Chrysalis back where she belonged... in a statue.
Marshmellow had prepared everything, "Shall we go over the plan again, just to be safe?" and 4 other Changelings all nodded, "Alright. We are to avoid interfering with Midnight, Brendan, Dusk, and the stupidly lucky one's plan to seal Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow, then when Chrysalis is being sealed I am to open a portal to another world and pull a foal, I am personally hoping for Apple Bloom or Sweetie Belle, but any Foal could work. After that, Midnight is going to have a mental breakdown thinking that his only hope is to work with the Queen, but I have a feeling that those pesty souls will get in the way, you all can figure out how to deal with them, but after that Midnight will finally be ours, the perfect spy..." Marshmellow stated, adding a grim smile towards the end. "What if Midnight sees through the guise, like he is known to do? And how do we get away with removing them without drawing suspion?" asked Blackened Exo, the leader of the Changeling tactics squad, "Uh, crap, I'm not a good deception squad leader if I don't know how to easily answer that... Alright. I have a solution, we don't try to disguise ourselves, as for removing the spirits without drawing susupion is to keep a piece of the throne with you, as long as Midnight has his will, which is boosted by magic I should add, the spirits can assist, which includes looking back and seeing moment by moments replays, but if the magically boosted will were... weakened by a part of the throne, it needs to be small enough to not interfer but still big enough to weaken his magic of will, then the spirits shouldn't be able to help opening Midnight's inablity to help Equestria WITHOUT the Queen, and with Midnight on our side, Equestria's our platter, we could have our hive back, and best of all... WE KEEP OUR QUEEN, CHRYSALIS!" Marshmellow said half expecting no pony to be there to hear her rant... but they were wrong, Dusk heard everything, and knew that he had to tell Midnight.
"Midnight! I have something to tell you before you go!" Dusk yelled towards his pitch black friend, "What's up Dusk?" Midnight asked not expecting anything serious, Dusk had a habit of telling Midnight about random things because he knew Midnight hated being told about random things, "The Admiral Changelings made a plan, I only got the tail end of it, but I got what could've been the most important part for you, they plan to weaken your magic enough to prevent your... secret... ability from working," Dusk said as Midnight gasped, but it just made Pinkie Pie excited, "MIDNIGHT HAS TWO SECRET ABILITIES!?" Midnight turned to face the overexcited party pony and simply nodded slowly saying, "Yeah you could say that... Dusk you worded it wrong you silly pony, the code word was Sprite," Midnight whispered that last part to Dusk. Now Midnight knew ahead of time, and there was only one thing to do... Grab THAT object, the only throne piece Midnight had, with it he was immune to the admiral Changelings' plan. Now everypony was ready for the main trip, Midnight needed to hope that they didn't have some super duper important part of the plan that Dusk was to late to hear.
