My eyes fluttered open to see a blue sky and clouds. "Where am I?" I asked. "Ah, you're awake." A voice said. turning I saw an old man sitting at a table which was on a carpet. I noticed that I was standing on a cloud. Sighing, I sat down at the table.
"I'm guessing I'm dead." I said. the man tilted his head. "Yes, and I'm extremely sorry for it." He said "I see, well no use holding a grudge. No harm no foul." I said. "You're taking this surprisingly well." The man said.
"Kind of have to, though I wish I would have lived past thirty." I said. "So, I guess this is where you judge me?" the man chuckled. "Figured out who I was huh?" he said. "The whole sitting on clouds gave it away." I said gesturing to the cloud-like floor.
"Not exactly." Kami said. "I'm resurrecting you in another world as going back to yours would raise suspicion." I raised an eyebrow. 'I wonder if it's the same world as Mochizuki Touya's new world.' I thought. 'Wait, if I go to the new world I would be alone. I could ask for a traveling companion. And I know just the one. She might need some comfort though.'
"Anything you want to keep before going to the next world?" Kami asked. "Three things. To keep this," I said pulling out my smartphone. Kami hummed and mumbled something along the lines as 'another one.' "The other two requests?" he asked. "Being able to read the language, and finally… a traveling companion." Kami raised an eyebrow. "And whom do you want to travel with you?" he asked
"Ruby Rose from RWBY." I said before adding "the Atlas Arc version." Kami nodded. "I will also imbue you with the ability to use magic." I blinked.
My eyes shot open. "So, I'm now in the same world he sent Touya. Wonder if I'll run into him at some point. If so, ruby and I should join him, Elize, and Linze. Speaking of ruby, where is that cookie loving scythe wielder?"
"Ow, my head. Where am I?" a feminine voice asked. I turned to see the scarlet reaper herself. "Need a hand?" I asked offering my hand. She took it. "Thanks… wait, who are you?" She asked. "Cade." I said pulling her up. "Well cade I'm…" she began. "Ruby Rose, leader of team RWBY and has silver eyes." I said
"How do you know that?" Ruby asked. "Would you believe me if I said that where I'm originally from you're a popular fictional character whose show is watched by millions?" I said with an uneasy grin. All I got was a deadpan stare.
"Ok, I get that it sounds crazy, but your old headmaster was and still is, a multi-millennia old wizard." That resulted in a raised eyebrow and a hand on a hip. I sighed
"There's no way I can convince you is there." Ruby shook her head no. before I could do anything else my phone rang. "Cade here." I said not noticing ruby giggle at my rapid response.
"Good, I got through." The unmistakable voice of Kami said. "Hey, I was talking to ruby about her existence. I could use an assist." I said as ruby crossed her arms frowning. "Put me on speaker." The old man said.
"Now Miss Rose, what this boy has said is true." Kami said. "Anyways onto what I was calling about. I changed the map on both of your devices so you don't get lost. And to be honest, I'd rather not see you again anytime soon." With that the call ended.
I sighed. "Alright, so what now?" Ruby asked. "Well, for starters, we find a town and see if we can get work as adventurers. That's this world's version of huntsmen." I said. "You still have Crescent Rose with you?" Ruby nodded and showed me her weapon.
"Good. Because I don't exactly have a weapon and the training. Nor do we have the funds to buy or have the materials to build one." Ruby gave him a deadpan look.
"Before you say anything… I didn't ask him for you to fight FOR me, but to travel with me. I fully intend to get a weapon eventually." Any sassy remark ruby had planned died at that.
"So, what were you thinking?" Ruby asked excitedly as her weapon geek self slowly began to takeover. "I was thinking a Colt 1911." I said. "That or a BAR. That stands for browning automatic rifle. Or even the ODM gear from an anime called Attack on Titan." I showed her pictures both weapons and the equipment. "Wow, so cool." The scarlet reaper said gushing over the weapons from another world. She even drooled a bit upon seeing the ODM gear.
"The only issue I see right now is people flirting with you.." I said. ruby snickered. "We could make people think that you're my older brother." She said. "Okay, where to." Ruby asked. I brought out my phone. Thankfully, I knew where we were from the anime. "That way. There's a town not too far away." I said pointing with my right arm.
I blinked a few times and glanced at it. I could move my hand. The only difference was that it was metal, like yang's.
"Ruby. Please tell me that I'm not seeing things." I said raising my robotic right arm. "What do you mean?" she asked. "My right arm. Is it robotic?"
Ruby glanced at it. "Yeah, it's metal, why?" she asked before noticing a few tears going down by facial cheeks. "You alright?" she asked placing a hand on my right shoulder. "Back in my world, I couldn't use my right hand due to my cerebral palsy. Most people who have it can't walk or even talk. I'm one of the lucky few in which it affects one side of the body." I proceeded to show her the position my original right arm had been in. "I was bullied and mocked by people who didn't understand my condition. One of the greatest insults someone could ever make to my face was to call my right arm a chicken wing (A/N: This has actually happened to me) Ruby's eyes widened in silent shock.
Ruby furrowed her eyebrows and her right hand formed a fist. 'Whoever bullied this guy should watch their backs because yang or I would be the last thing they'd ever see.' She thought.
"Come on. We should get going." I said. Ruby nodded. "Look out new world, here comes the huntsmen." I said grinning.

Ruby and I walked down the road towards who knows where. "So, other than asking for me to travel with you and your scroll, what'd you ask kami for?" Ruby asked placing her hands on the back of her head. "To read their language." I said.
"And you didn't think to ask him to convert whatever cash you had into this world's currency." The scarlet reaper snarked with a toothy smirk and quirked eyebrow. "Shut it Red." I shot back with a smug grin.
Ruby rolled her eyes. 'He may be strange, but I can tell… he's a good person.' She thought. "Think you can tell me about my, or rather my team's show?" I looked at her in surprise.
"You want to know about RWBY?" the scarlet reaper nodded. "Well, there's nine volumes, or seasons. The ninth one premiered just before I left my world." Ruby's eyebrows shot up into her hairline. "Nine seasons? Wait. What's a season for a show?" she asked, "a season is a collection of episodes. RWBY generally has a volume or season consisting of thirteen episodes. A season finale is the end of said group of episodes."
"So, what happened in the first episode of volume 9." Ruby asked. "Well, to recap the previous volume's finale, you, your team, Jaune, and Neo were cast into the Abyss of the realm between realms." I said as Ruby's eyes widened. "Basically, in episode 1 you made friends with a talking mouse, Weiss and Blake got captured by said mouse's tribe, and yang got her lower right arm stolen."
Ruby was surprised that she made friends with a mouse THAT COULD TALK! "Wow that's both cool and weird. The part about me becoming friends with a talking mouse." I chuckled. "That's not the craziest part between you and the mouse. It was trying to pull something out of the ground. You helped it and the plant turned out to be, and I kid you not, cheese." Ruby looked at me with a confused/disbelieving look. "that's the exact look you made when you saw the cheese." I said as a carriage went by.
"Oh, here we go." I said as the carriage stopped. Ruby looked at me before a man came out rushing up to me. "Sir, you must sell your clothes to me. I promise you won't regret it." he said. "Firstly, personal space sir. Secondly, it better be a good payout. Also, before you ask. Her clothes aren't for sale. She and I are hoping to register at the local adventurer's guild in Reflet." The man nodded.
"I see. Your girlfriend does have the adventurer look with those clothes. So, I won't bother about them. You on the other hand don't." Ruby and I blushed a deep red. "A-a-actually sir. We're siblings." Ruby stammered out whilst fighting down her blush.
"My apologies then." He said opening the door of the carriage. My eyes widened at who was in it. "Hi I'm.." the boy began. "Mochizuki Touya.. I'll explain how I know you later." I said mildly shocking Touya.
Ruby got in after me with help from the man. "Oh, I'm Cade Rose. And this is my sister Ruby." Touya smiled. "a pleasure to meet you two." The man cleared his throat. "Sorry for my actions earlier. My name is Zanac." Cade nods.
LATER IN REFLET
"Come on down you three. I'll help you two get new clothes." Zanac said. Touya nodded before frowning. I smirked. "The sign says the fashion king Zanac." Touya looked at me. "that's what it says?" he asked. I nodded as we followed Zanac inside.
"Welcome back sir." One of the store's employees said. "Great to be back. Listen, these two kind men need to be fitted for new clothes." Zanac said. the employees nodded.
While Touya and I were getting fitted, Ruby browsed the store. "Miss Rose, if I may ask, who designed your wonderful outfit." Zanac asked. "I did. Or rather the outfit I wore before this one." She said. "I see. I must admit your outfit was likely designed specifically for being an adventurer and combat. That much is true. I mean those belt on your waist and legs are perfect places to store weapons, if you prefer using daggers that is." Ruby smiled
"Thank you for the compliments Mr. Zanac." Ruby said.
LATER
"Wow, can't believe we got that much gold from your clothes cade." Ruby said as we walked alongside Touya. I smiled. "So, let me get this straight cade. You're from my world but a different version." Touya said gaining our attention. I nodded "You two aren't actually siblings, but are using that as a cover so people don't flirt with her." Ruby nodded. "Yes, but I don't think that'll work if Yang is here." she said. "Unless you're able to convince her." I said.
Before any further conversation was made a noise alerted the three to a nearby alley. "You told us it was worth one gold coin." One voice said as the trio peaked around the corner with ruby on the bottom, Touya above her, and me on top. We saw two guys having a conversation with two silver haired girls.
"What should we do?" Ruby whispered. "Screw this." I said before walking up behind the two assholes with Touya beside me. I tapped one on the shoulder. "Busy pal." One said "I'll make this quick then." I said. "You said it was worth a single gold coin right?" Elze raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, but this guy says that it's worth just a copper coin now. All because its slightly chipped." The long haired silverette said. I frowned. "It'd at least be a silver coin not a copper. You trying to con these girls?"
"Not your problem pal, beat it." The second guy said brandishing a knife. 'Oh fuck.' I thought as he lunged at me. I drew back and swung my right arm forcing the knife out of his hand while Touya elbowed the thug in the spine. I heard ruby say something along the line of "he'll feel that when he wakes up."
Touya and I looked to each other and nodded smiling as a thud was heard. we turned to see the last thug on the ground unconscious at the feet of the two girls. "Thanks for the help you three. I'm Elze Silhoueska and this is my sister linze Silhoueska." The long-haired girl said. "No problem, I'm Mochizuki Touya. Touya's my first name." Touya said. "So, you introduce yourself backwards. I take it you're from Eashen?" Touya nodded.
"And you two?" Linze asked. "I'm Cade, Cade Rose. This is my sister Ruby." I said. The two nodded. "We're looking for a place called the silver moon inn. You know where that is?" Ruby asked. "Yes, and funnily enough that's where we're headed as well."
"I'd like to book two rooms. One for myself and the other for my sister." I told Micah, one of the silver moon's keepers. "Name." she asked. "Cade and Ruby Rose." Micah frowned. "Is something wrong?" Ruby asked. "No, but a gentleman left a package here for a Cade Rose." She said. My 'sister' and I looked at each other.
"Hey guys, mind giving us a hand?" I asked struggling with the box. "Whoa!" Elze said rushing to help balance the large parcel. "You order something Cade?" Touya asked with a cheeky grin. "Not that I recall."
With the group's help, I was able to open it. "No way is that?…" Ruby began to ask "it most definitely is Rubes." I said. Inside the large box was a set of ODM gear. "Wow, so this is an actual set of ODM gear." Ruby said. "ODM gear? What's that?" Elze asked as not only was she curious but her sister and Touya were as well.
"Well, to start, ODM stands for Omni-Directional-Maneuvering. It allows the user to move great distances at a rapid pace. However, the drawback is the fuel usage. If you run out of pressurized air it won't function at all." I held up one of the grapple boxes. "These shoot anchors via the pressurized air as well." Elze looked impressed.
"I take it that you know how to operate it?" Linze said. "No, I just know the ins and outs of the gear." I said. Elze frowned. "And considering that this may be the only example around. You'll most likely will have to teach yourself." She said
Touya noticed an envelope next to the gear. "Looks like someone left you a letter." I frowned and opened it.
"Cade, I figured you'd need something to fight the creatures and any enemies you might come across. So, I left you a little something to use." I read before giving Ruby and Touya a knowing look.
"That sounds ominous." Elze said. "it's disappointing that you don't have the training to use it." I nod.
LATER THAT NIGHT
I sat on my bed looking at my new ODM gear disappointed that kami gave to me without actually imbuing the knowledge on how to use it. Suddenly my cell went off
"Cade here." I said. "So, like my gift?" Kami asked. "Other than only being able to wear it, but not actually use it properly in combat. Yeah I do." I said while the ghost of a smile appeared on my face. "Ok, I made some changes to it. The gas canisters will never run out so you're good on continued use without refueling. The blades in the scabbards will respawn after the last two are put in the hilts." Kami said
"You do realize I don't…" I began. "I'm getting to that. I'll be sending a person from THAT place to this one." He said. my eyes widened. "You're sending someone from Attack on Titan here to teach me on how to use my ODM gear?" I said in mild shock. "Mmhmm." Kami said.
I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Anyone, but Levi, Shadis, Hange, Reiner, and Bertholdt" I said as hearty laughter resounded from the phone. "This person will also be a traveling companion for you. See ya."
I sighed. Whoever, I was getting it better not be any of those four. I wouldn't mind Jean, Mikasa, Armin, or even Annie. Though I'd need some severe patience with the latter. She's a freaking ice queen, even more so than Mikasa.
THE NEXT DAY
"This looks decent whatever it is." Touya said looking at a flyer on the mission board at the adventurers' guild. Elze and Linze immediately became disgusted. "What?" He asked. "Er.. Touya. That flyer is for an elimination mission regarding slimes." I said glancing at the pamphlet while Ruby helped me strap on my ODM gear. Elze got into Touya's face.
"Slimes are disgusting and the bane of existence." She yelled. This sent a shiver up Ruby's spine. "Anything else look good?" she asked shakingly.
While we were conversing on what to do, the door of the guild opened and a person dressed in a brown jacket, beige shirt, and pants, brown boots, and a green elbow length cloak entered the building. The hood of the cloak was up hiding the person's face
"Excuse me miss?" the person asked in a feminine tone. "Yes how can it help you? The desk keeper asked. "Do you know if a person named Cade came through here." the figure asked. "Yes, he's currently with his sister, Ruby Rose, and three others deciding which mission to do." The desk keeper said pointing in said group's direction.
"Touya, are you trying to say you're illiterate?!" Elze said. Touya blushed in embarrassment and nodded. "Um can we help you?" Linze asked as the stranger approached them. "Guys, He, or she is wearing ODM gear." Ruby said.
"I hope you don't mind if I tag along do you?" the stranger asked. "I guess one more wouldn't hurt." Elze said. "But who are you?" the person raised her hands to her hood and lowered it. My eyes widened. She had reddish brown hair done up in a ponytail reaching the base of her neck and had two bangs framing her face. She had light brown eyes. Only one person looked like that in Attack on Titan seasons 1-3.
"My name is Sasha Blouse. I was hoping to teach Cade on how to properly use his ODM gear and later accompany him and his sister on their adventures." The girl said. "As Elze said. the more the merrier. Just don't eat us into bankruptcy ok?" I teased. Sasha blushed knowing full well what I was referring to.
We eventually decided on an elimination mission regarding horned wolves. As we travelled, Sasha taught me proper grip of the handles.
"Wait. So those grips also act as the handles for the swords?" Ruby asked. Sasha nodded. "Yep." She said smiling until she saw ruby's expression. "Is she ok?" the red head asked. "She's a weapons nut. Ruby both designed and built her own weapon.
I glanced to ruby and nodded. she unhooked and shifted Crescent Rose into its scythe form. "Nice." I later learned that Sasha was given the same upgrades as me regarding her ODM gear.
"You're a magic user Linze?" I heard Touya say as Sasha and I literally soared through the air. Turned out there had been some ogres nearby as well. Ruby was aiding Touya, Elze, and Linze while we dealt with them.
"Good kill Teach." I said seeing Sasha slash an ogre in the spine. "Cade, look out." She screamed. "Holy shit!" I yelled both disengaging my anchors and leaned back as a club sailed overhead. "You nearly took my head off you asshole" I yelled
[barricades; Attack on Titan ost plays]
I launched my right anchor into the ogre's thigh and angled myself above it before dive bombing it. I rotated my body in a buzzsaw-like fashion similar to Levi and decapitated the creature.
[Ost ends]
I stood on the decapitated ogre before flicking blood off the blade. "For a newbie, that maneuver you just pulled was very hard to pull off. Usually takes a lot of practice to do it." Sasha said.
I glanced at the hilt of one of the blades. "Could I have a semblance or was that sheer dumb luck?" I shook my head. "We should regroup with the others." I said and Sasha nodded.
LATER THAT DAY BACK AT THE INN
"Well, that's quite impressive. To have all types of magic including that elusive null magic." Ruby said in wonder. "Yeah, it's common to have one or two." Elze said. "it's rare for people to have three like linze." Touya smiled before his eyes widen. "I wonder what affinities cade, Sasha, and ruby have."
We perked our ears up at that. I picked up the fire crystal. "Come forth fire!" I exclaimed before a plume of flames burst from the crystal. Everyone's eyes were as wide as dinnerplates at how big the plume was. "O…kay. I'm not doing the others unless we're in an open area." The others nodded.
After that mishap, we introduced this world to ice cream just as it happened in the anime. I glanced around at my new friends and sister as they ate their ice cream. I would live this life to the fullest no matter what. Glancing at Sasha's clothes then mine one thing came to mind. 'If I'm going to use ODM gear, then I need to look the part.' I smirked whilst looking at ruby. It'd need a bit of RWBY flare to it though.
Sasha saw my glance. "What?" she asked. "If I'm going to use ODM gear. I should look the part. And before you ask. No, it won't be the scouts' emblem but a combination of the cadet corps and Garrison emblems." I said. 'A combination of two military branches' emblems.' Sasha thought before smiling. "Ok Rose, impress me."
"So, Cade what are you going to name it?" Ruby asked suddenly. "Ruby, what do you mean name it?" Elze asked. "His ODM gear of course. you see back home, its custom for huntsmen and huntresses to name their weapons." Ruby said bringing out Crescent rose but not activating it. "Mine's called Crescent Rose."
"Erhm huntresses and huntsmen?" Linze asked. "It's our home's equivalent to adventurer's. Same concept, just different name." the twins nodded in understanding. "As for a name, I was thinking Whistling thorn." They look at me.
"The whistling part is because of the cables both shooting and retracting. As for the thorn part…" I unsheathe one blade and moved it into a reverse grip. "Pretty much self-explanatory." I said raising it for all to see. "Point taken." Elze said. we all shared a laughed.
A/N: that's a wrap of my first X-overs story. Hope you enjoyed chapter 1. Now I'm going to do something new post-chapter. A sort of bloopers or behind the scenes segment. Touya and I looked to each other and nodded smiling as a yelp was heard. we turned to see the last thug covering his nether region and hunched over in pain. "CUT!" the director said. "What happened?"
The camera zooms in on Elze, whom has a look of horror
"I accidently punched him for real and right where it counts. Sorry man. You good." Elze asked hand on the man's shoulder. The guy nodded. "Can we get some ice for Daniel?"

ODM gear training
Hey, everyone Clay342 here. as you know I portray Cade Rose in the story in another World with Ruby Rose. I'm here to discuss an important issue you might have had with this chapter and that's how cade was able to use the ODM gear flawlessly after having it for only a day. Well, it's because of his semblance. Yes, he has one, but I can't reveal to you what it is.
Operating ODM gear is easier shown than done. I actually had the pleasure of doing some ODM gear training with both the scouts and garrison in order to get a feel for it. I was actually able to get a few members to join the cast of In another World with Ruby Rose. One you know, the others will be revealed later.
