5. Little Miss Universe.
Chloe declares herself Empress of the Universe, but the Doctor is nowhere to be seen. She misses him and wonders where he is. Dalek, Cybermen and Sontaran emissaries surround her. They may hate each other but Chloe has requested their presence, and while they are there, Chloe feels that the Universe is a safer place.
Maybe the Doctor is right, her leadership might only last while she's physically there.
What are her friends thinking of her? Chloe heads to her home planet, Tinsel, to meet up with her sister and her father. She stops off on the way to order a suitably imposing dress.
Dressed to match her self-proclaimed title, she visits her home.
Chloe appears in the lounge. Devyon, Alyssa and Simeon are sitting in armchairs discussing something. They fall silent when Chloe arrives.
"Where's the Doctor?" Alyssa asks. She would normally have expected Chloe and the Doctor to be together whenever they arrived, but the Doctor has preceded Chloe.
"Have you lost him?" Simeon asks playfully.
"Where did you get that ostentatious dress from?" Devyon asks more blatantly.
"I got it just down the road, here on Tinsel. I went back and ordered it a few weeks ago and picked it up today. Do you like it?"
"It's far too ostentatious for me," Simeon says. "Why are you dressed like that?"
"I'm Empress of the Universe! I got it to match my title." .
"Oh, that's nice," Devyon plays along. "I'll put the kettle on to celebrate." . He steps into the kitchen. "No, really, I am."
"Are you becoming deluded?" Alyssa asks.
This is bound to annoy her sister, but she's been annoying her for years! She's an expert! .
"We've got a present for you," Alyssa continues. She crosses the lounge and retrieves a wrapped box. After presenting it to Chloe, she sits down.
All Chloe must do is open the box. It glitters with golden sparkles.
Inside the glittering paper is a box containing a pair of small boots.
"Try them on!" Simeon says, grinning.
Chloe tries to put the boots on but can't. "They're too small for me."
Simeon speaks up. "There's a message with them ... You're too big for your boots!" .
"What's happening here?" Chloe demands to know.
Simeon must speak up again. "The Doctor came and left these for you."
Alyssa goes quietly to the kitchen to make the next meal. She knows the message has been delivered and the Doctor will be happier.
Chloe's aghast! The Doctor himself is chastising her! She's horrified!
She sees what she's become. Doubt riddles her being. What has she done?
Quickly she messages the Doctor. Doctor, I'm sorry. I've become a monster. I never meant for that to happen. Please help me!
The Doctor receives her message.
"That's what anyone might say! But I love you. You deserve so many times of forgiveness. Forgiveness is so important."
He sends a response message. I'm coming for you!
"I forgive you" might have been better?
