6. The Doctor is coming.

Chloe reads the message but fears that the Doctor means he's coming in anger to remove her and punish her.
The colour drains from her face. She thinks The Doctor hates me! The one she loves has turned on her for what she's done and become.

Simeon glances at her. He's never seen her like that!
"Chloe, what's wrong?" he asks. He goes to sit with her.
It's more difficult for him now as he's now in a relationship with Alyssa after Chloe dumped him.
"You know I still really like you?" After relaying the Doctor's message earlier, he feels the need to try to re-establish more direct friendship bonds.
Chloe looks at him. Maybe, if the Doctor's mad at her, Simeon might be a useful friend? .

"Simeon, will you come with me?"
"Where are you going?"
"Anywhere!"
"But let's think - just where?"
"Scaro! At least the Daleks will protect me from him!" . She's desperate! .
"From who?"
"From the Doctor!"
"Why? He's never that bad!?"

A grinding noise tells them that the Doctor's Tardis is arriving.
Simeon hugs Chloe so close that she can't move her hands to activate her wristwatch transport.
Alyssa comes into the lounge to see Simeon apparently hugging Chloe close. . She's annoyed. .

Then the Doctor opens the Tardis door and steps out into the lounge to see Simeon hugging Chloe close! . He's annoyed. .

"Ah, a relationship change-around?" the Doctor says. .
"Let go of me, Simeon," Chloe demands, but Simeon continues to hold Chloe tight to prevent her activating her transport.
"I'm just ensuring Chloe stays around for you, Doctor!" Simeon says.
"Why, what's the problem?" the Doctor asks.
"You sent her a message saying you were coming for her," Simeon says. "And she thought you were coming in anger."
"What?" the Doctor says. "No, no, no! You deserve forgiveness, so many times over!"
As Chloe takes this in she goes limp, and Simeon recognises he can let go of her, but she recovers fairly quickly.

Chloe regains her composure. "I thought I'd overstepped the mark far too far when I got your message," she says limply.
"Maybe you had, but I love you and I'll always forgive you," the Doctor says, grinning. "You know that." He's been taking Chloe on adventure outings since she was a young child. He knows Chloe so well.
"You know I wouldn't turn on you in anger," the Doctor says. He smiles. "Could we dispense with the gown and headdress and just talk, you and me?"
The Doctor is firm, not angry.

Chloe removes the impressive dress and headgear that she'd imagined might suit an Empress.
Back to just being the Chloe that they all know and love.
"Hey, that's better," Simeon says. He likes the simple, straightforward Chloe much better.
"It was ridiculous," Alyssa rejoins. For her, the sooner that Chloe's back with the Doctor and away from Simeon, the better!
Alyssa and Simeon take the Doctor's hint for space to talk and join Devyon in the kitchen.

"My Chloe," the Doctor says as he steps to her and hugs her.
"Are you angry with me?"
"Not angry," the Doctor says. "But don't run from me when I can help you. Can you leave the monster you became behind and return to me?"
"I'm sorry, Doctor." Chloe's sorry she ever left the Doctor's side.
The Doctor looks at her sharply. Is she sorry that she can't leave the monster she's become? he wonders. "Sorry?" he asks, suddenly sternly.
Chloe looks at the Doctor. Why is he looking at her so sharply?
It suddenly all seems so distant. Chloe longs to return to the Doctor, but it feels like a bumpy ride so far!
"Doctor, I'm sorry I ever left your side. I'm sorry I went to sort out the Sontarans. I should have simply stayed with you. I'm sorry, I seem to have spoilt it."
"You should only do just so much, and you'd already exceeded that by quite a bit. How about we share ideas before we do more?" The Doctor feels the need to put the brakes on but knows Chloe won't stay with that for long.
"Alright, Doctor," Chloe says. She feels the need to consolidate being back with the Doctor after her huge fears earlier.

Alyssa enters the room with a tray of hot drinks. "Is Chloe behaving herself now?" she jibes. .
"Admirably," the Doctor says, smiling.
Chloe cuddles closer to the Doctor and begins to feel his forgiveness outworking.
"What do you want to be doing in a year's time?" Alyssa asks, trying to establish for herself that Chloe won't want Simeon back.
"I'd love to be at the Doctor's side, looking after the Universe, in the Doctor's style. My style was far too overpowering."

Everyone breathes a sigh of relief as the status quo is restored; or is as restored as it reasonably might be.

But where is the status quo restored?
