Meanwhile, in Mal's mind, Mike and the others were able to see everything Mal was doing thanks to a screen that was floating in the sky above them.
"You'll pay for this, Mal!" said Mike from his container.
"It's no use, Mike, he has complete control, we alters can't do anything against him now," said Manitoba.
"Even if it's true and he's the original I'll fight back, because I have people out there who are waiting for me!" said Mike as he struggled in the sand.
"My family and friends are out there, Zoey's there too, and I won't let him near them!" he said as a noise began to ring out. Back in the real world, Gwen and Courtney had taken Crimson and Ennui out.
"Nice shot back there, I can't believe you got Crimson from so far away," said Gwen as the two sat in a cave they had retreated to in order to regroup and take shelter from anyone else in.
"Same to you," said Courtney before kissing Gwen.
"I'm so glad I moved to your school last year and we agreed to get some counseling together," said Gwen as they pulled apart.
"Best idea I ever had," said Courtney with a big smile. The two then grew quiet again when they heard moaning sounds from deeper in the cave which got them to raise their weapons up in defense.
"Help… me," said Duncan as he came out of the darkness with no weapon in hand and clearly having been beaten badly. Both of his arms were also hanging loosely by his sides, just swinging as he walked.
"Put your hands up where we can see them," said Courtney as she and Gwen held their guns on him.
"Would… if I could, but Mal broke them after… emptying a whole thing of paintballs on… me," said Duncan while turning to show his back. The two then noticed he was covered in paint and both elbows were clearly shattered.
"He was like an… animal," said Duncan before fainting.
"What… what do we do?" asked Gwen who was terrified by what they had just heard.
"First we need to help him and then find Chris and Don, this game has turned to dangerous now," said Courtney before going over to check on Duncan who was not moving at all.
