Chapter 1 Book Wars and Punishment
In the hushed corners of Konoha University's library, the tension between Neji Hyuga and Tenten was palpable. Both future medical professionals, destined for greatness in their respective fields, clashed over a single coveted book. Their passion for learning was only rivaled by their stubbornness.
Neji's stern voice broke the silence as he declared, "I had the book first, Tenten. It's only fair that I get to borrow it for my studies."
Tenten crossed her arms, her eyes ablaze with determination. "I saw it first, Neji. And I need it for my research too. Let's be reasonable here."
Their voices escalated, and unknowingly, Tenten raised her tone. The librarian, Shizune, couldn't overlook this breach of library etiquette and swiftly admonished them. To atone for their disturbance, they were assigned the tedious task of organizing books in a secluded section of the library during their vacant schedules for the rest of the month.
Reluctantly, Tenten voiced her concerns, "But I need to study during my free time! This is unfair." Neji, never one to shy away from a taunt, remarked, "You don't seem like the studious type anyway. What difference does it make?"
Their bickering continued during their duty schedules. Neji couldn't resist blaming Tenten for their predicament, while she retaliated by accusing him of not being considerate enough to share the book. "You should've just given it to me!" Tenten exclaimed.
Neji countered, "I have exams coming up, and I can't afford distractions." Tenten retorted, "Oh, please! You're already a genius in our batch. A little less studying won't hurt you."
As they worked side by side in the secluded library section, they struggled to find common ground, each entrenched in their perspective. But fate had a different plan in store. As Tenten balanced precariously on a wobbly step stool, she lost her footing and almost took a dangerous tumble.
In a flash, Neji's quick reflexes kicked in, and he caught her just in time, his strong arms preventing her fall. Time seemed to stand still as they locked eyes, the intensity of the moment making their hearts race.
Suddenly self-conscious, they pulled away from each other, their cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "We should get back to work," Neji stammered, trying to break the awkward silence. "We don't want more punishment," Tenten added, grateful for the distraction.
