Title: Yukinon Is Not Invited.

For some reason the ice queen wasn't in the clubroom to deal with the talkative pink airhead and as such the pleasure of being on the receiving end of her chatter fell upon his shoulder.

He was just trying to read in silence.

The operating word being 'trying'.

"Yumiko was saying this café was really cute. We should totally check it out!"

Ignore her.

Just ignore her.

She was bound to shut up sooner or later.

Or she would understand what she was asking him to do and wise up. He didn't go to cafés with cute girls. Wait, did he call her cute? He meant annoying. Yeah, that's right. Annoying. Of course she is annoying. What else could she be? Definitely not cute.

"Ah! I mean, I'm totally gonna ask Yukinon out too."

You don't say.

Was there some yuri action going on behind his back? Yukinoshita and Yuigahama did seem oddly close these days. Well, he didn't mind. In fact, more power to them. Just leave him the hell alone. Can you do that? Please?

Apparently not.

"Wait! That came out wrong! I don't like Yukinon! I mean I do like her, but I don't like her like her. When I said I'm gonna ask her out, I meant invite her to the café. I didn't mean anything else by it. Honest!"

Of course she didn't mean anything.

Yuigahama Yui was a nice girl. They were nice by nature. They were kind by nature. But at the end of the day, they simply meant nothing. He had to remind himself, keep reminding himself, each and every day.

He was not special.

He meant nothing.

He was a nobody.

Just a loner.

Where the hell was Yukinoshita?

"When I said 'we' I meant you and me…"

She trailed off. He waited and waited and waited for her to finish her sentence, add another name, because of course there had to be another person. There was no way it could be just the two of them. Because then it would almost sound like a date and it was a well known fact that Hikigaya Hachiman didn't go out on dates. Period.

"…and Yukinoshita." He added, because it seemed like she wasn't about to finish the sentence anytime soon and it was one of those things which could be misinterpreted and misunderstood if not dealt with promptly.

He didn't want to create any unnecessary problems.

He just wanted to read his book in peace.

But peace was not an option.

When he looked up from the book, he found himself staring into her eyes. She was close. Too close. This wasn't good. Not good at all. He probably should have said something to her in the first place when she had moved her chair and sat closer to him than was proper. Even now he should be telling her something, anything, but words seemed to fail him, as he was lost in her eyes, lost in the scent of her perfume, lost in her voice.

He had to focus.

Focus.

If he paid the slightest bit of attention, he would realize that the book he was trying to read was now sitting idly on his lap, closed. He was no longer holding onto his most prized possession. His hands were empty and he had no idea what to do with them, because Yuigahama was close. And she was moving closer, leaning forward in her chair.

It was dangerous.

She was dangerous.

"But what if Yukinon doesn't go with us?"

His brain had trouble making sense of what she was saying, what she was trying to say. No, she didn't mean that. He was making a mistake. A terrible mistake. If he let his eyes wander, he could catch a glimpse of – no! – look into her eyes. Wait, that's not a great idea either. Look to the side. Stare at the wall. Yes. The empty wall was the most interesting thing in the world at the moment.

"Please look at me, Hikki."

Don't use that voice. You are a high schooler Yuigahama. Behave. He could have said a number of things, but words refused to leave his mouth. Everything was stuck in his throat and he had to remind himself to breath. Just breath and it will all be over soon. For some reason, he turned and looked into her eyes and he got caught by their hypnotic stare. There was something in her eyes, something he had never seen before. When was the last time someone had looked at him like that? He couldn't remember. He was pretty sure nobody had looked at him like that, ever. What was the meaning behind that look in her eyes, he really wanted to know. But he was scared to ask.

By now he remembered she had said something as well. It was difficult to remember, but he somehow managed. After all, it was a rather outrageous proposition. It made absolutely no sense.

"Why wouldn't Yukinoshita come with us?"

She leaned even forward, balancing precariously on the legs of her chair and by now he could feel her hot breath on his face, her legs almost brushed against his, his eyes refused to look anywhere else except for her lips and the blush spreading across her cheeks wasn't helping anyone. It made her look awfully cute. And pretty. And -

He was doomed.

"Because I won't tell her."

"Tell me what, Yuigahama-san?"

What happened next, he couldn't exactly remember. But if he had to guess, he would assume that Yuigahama lost her balance and fell down and out of some sense of chivalry he tried to break her fall, which led to her falling on top of him in a rather awkward manner.

Apart from feeling pain from falling down to the hard ground, he also felt something rather nice. It was warm and soft and where the hell was his book?

"Ah! Hikki, what are you doing!?"

If sadistic pleasure had a voice, it would be Yukinoshita's. "What did you expect, Yuigahama-san. Apparently a lot has happened while I was away. Let's see if I can understand what exactly took place. From what I can gather, it is rather apparent that Hikigaya-kun annoyed you to such an extent that you tried to kill him by suffocating him with your breasts. Your plan didn't work and now Hikigaya-kun is trying to tear off your breasts as revenge."

Yuigahama was beyond scandalized. "Hikki -!"

"I'm just trying to find my book, woman!"

In the end, he found his book, but not before he accidentally copped a feel or two and just because he was a gentleman, he agreed to come with her to the café and pay for her over priced coffee and cake as an apology. And as you would expect, Yukinoshita wasn't invited, because she was a bitch.

A/N: Again, this was a one-shot which I had posted in my other account, but I took it down for some stupid reason. I decided to re-upload it here, because I thought it was too good to be gathering dust, sitting on my laptop. Besides, it's always nice to read a Yui fic. Hope everyone enjoyed this.

Take care.
