Chapter 1: The Necklace of Sin

It's heavy. Everything is heavy. When he awakens everything feels heavy. His skin that protects his body, his bones that hold him together, his muscles that help his body function, even his emotions that made him who he is felt too heavy. But what felt the heaviest was his neck. The neck that bore a beautiful piece of jewelry, a golden link necklace with what looked like a golden vine design with rose gold leaves on it. The piece could easily be worth over 10 grand when sold to the right people. Now, the weight of the item did not bother him, in fact it was very light. Instead, it was an item meant for him and who it previously belonged to, because that necklace was way more trouble for what it is worth.

"Hello? Helloooo? Are you up now? I sure hope so, waiting for you to come to is such a bore."

The teen jumps a bit after suddenly hearing the voice of another person. When his eyes finally adjust, he takes a moment to look around the room. He sees that it is being lit by several dim lamps spread out across the floor. All along the walls are what look like talismans or something similar. And in the center of this room was a man sitting before him. He seemed to be in his late 20's and sporting a satisfied smirk. He had hair white as the snow that was spiked up thanks to the blindfold over his eyes. He wore a simple navy-blue uniform with matching shoes. He sat relaxed in a chair, leaning back with his hands behind his head. When he realized that I was fully awake, the chair fell to the ground with a loud clack that echoed off the walls of the seemingly airtight room.

"Good morning sunshine!" he says with a massive grin on his face, "Care to tell me which one of the two are you right now?"

The teen frowns, "What the hell are you talking about? Where am I? Who are you?"

The man's grin wavers ever so slightly, "My, my that's a bit of questions to answer right now," he leans forward "but seeing that you are lacking a very pretty voice, then I'd say you are Raymond Yamaguchi currently. Am I right?"

Raymond raises his eyebrow confused, "Yes, that's me. Who are you and how do you know my name?"

"Oh, where are my manners? I was in the process of giving you an info dump without introducing myself, my bad." The man extends his hand. "Satoru Gojo, head of the first years at Jujutsu High."

Raymond goes to shake his hand until he realizes that I cannot. He looks behind him to see that he has been bound to a ring on the floor with a thick rope that seemed to dig into his skin with the same weird talismans on it.

Raymond starts to internally panic but attempts to keep a straight poker face and motioned his head towards the ropes.

"Merely a safety precaution." Gojo states matter of factly as he stands up from his seat.

Now Raymond begins to panic, "Wait, wait, wait, what are you doing? Why the hell am I tied up here? What is this place? What happened?"

Gojo stops before him and squats down, "Do you really not remember what happened?"

"Not really, it's all sort of fuzzy right now."

"I see." Gojo hums, staring at Raymond's chest intently.

He then leans forward and reaches for his necklace, but before he can touch it Raymond quickly jerks away from him.

"Don't touch that!" he exclaims.

Gojo pauses in surprise with a curious look on his face. But that feeling was gone as soon as it arrived. He goes for a second attempt, but his time Raymond tries to go for a headbutt. However, his head never reaches Gojo, because before Raymond can react, Gojo is already gone. He then feels a hand on top of his head as he is yanked back. Forced to look up he sees a smirking Gojo wagging his finger teasingly.

"Ah, ah, ah. You may have some fire in you still, but remember..." Gojo trails off, "You're still bound to the floor with someone who can easily overpower you right now, so please sit still for just a minute." he says carefreely

A shiver running down his spine, Raymond decides to comply and relaxes his body.

"Good boy!" Gojo says as he pats Raymond on the head, obviously seeing his discomfort and annoyance.

Gojo then proceeds to reach up to his neck to grab the necklace and run the cool gold metal between his fingers.

"If I remember this correctly, this was your older sister's necklace? Julie Yamaguchi if I am not mistaken?"

Raymond gives a sharp inhale before glaring at Gojo, a little bit of the fire in him returning.

"How do you know that name?" Raymond demands

Gojo continues to examine the necklace as he laughs, "Oh please, you think the sorcerers at Jujutsu High are not well informed about the missions we go on and who it concerns?"

Gojo tucks the necklace inside Raymond's hoodie and let's go of his face as he stands up and dusts himself off.

Gojo suddenly drops his goofy smile and instead is replaced by a concerning level of seriousness. He decides to rephrase his question towards the teen. "Do you remember anything about the necklace or why it is so important as to get you in this situation in the first place?" he asks as he paces the room patiently.

Raymond softens up a bit, "I know it was my mother's necklace that she gave to my older sister before she..." he trails off.

"Yes, got into an accident, I know." Gojo says before pausing. "But what if I told you that it was no accident."

Raymond immediately perks up. "What did you say-?"

"It's true." Gojo cuts him off as he points to his chest. "What if I told you the reason she was killed was of that very necklace."

Raymond starts to get overwhelmed and confused, "How could the-" he starts.

"And although for different reasons," Gojo interrupts him again, "This necklace is also why you are going to be killed too, Raymond Yamaguchi."

Now Raymond was in full on shock, "What do you mean I am going to be killed!? That's ridiculous! Why would I get killed over some jewelry?!"

Gojo calmly looks down on him and states his current situation. "The higher ups at Jujutsu High have decided that they wanted you executed for being in possession of an incredibly dangerous special grade cursed object, and for there being a highly likelihood that you will be a candidate for a contract with one of the most powerful curses there is."

Raymond starts to hyperventilate. All his thoughts start swirling viciously like a hurricane. Contracts? Necklaces? Curses? His sister's death? Jujutsu High? What does all this mean and how is it connected to me? Am I going to die? I don't want to die. I don't want to die. I don't want to die.

Gojo waits a bit before continuing, "I know this must be confusing now, but..." Gojo trails off, "luckily your ever so merciful Gojo-sensei was able to get you a pardon under a certain condition!" he says with a big smile and a happy go luck tone. He even did a little dance with a peace sign!

"Huh? I don't understand, am I going to die or not?" Raymond asks baffled.

Gojo puts his hand under his chin, "Well not yet, your pardon will be temporary until the time has come."

"And when will that be?" Raymond asks suspicious of what the terms were.

Gojo pauses, "The day when the King of Curses, Sukuna walks the Earth again. You will be the one to stop him not only kill him but another incredibly powerful curse."

Raymond cocks his head, "And that is?" he says quizzically.

Gojo smiles, "Well she goes by many names, Keeper of the Forbidden Library, The Most Beautiful Curse, and She Who Bears the Crown of Jewels. But most Jujutsu sorcerers just know her as Akemi, the Princess of Curses."
