Hello everyone! Happy Spiderman Day! Welcome to the conclusion of my Spectacular Spiders saga!...at least for now...

I need to say, just for the sake of warning, if you haven't read any of the previous stories yet, confusion will be apparent. My story list in chronological order is as follows...

'Origin of Ghost Spider'
'Playing with Lasers'
'Rehabilitation'
'Extra-Territorial'
'Trepidation'
'Wet and Wild'
'Unlucky Seven'
'Prime Targets'

This story was written as a two-part episode just like my original story 'Origin of Ghost Spider'. This way, my version of Spectacular Spiderman Season 3 ends with 13 episodes just like the first two seasons. Before we begin, I wanted to say thank you to all the loyal fans of this! I began writing this saga almost 3 years ago and first published it in July 2021, and it's been one amazing ride. I also want to thank fellow authors SuperiorSpyder, and Aaron12 for their support and help in writing all of this, and of course thank you once again ClassicCartoon27 for your story which helped me set the stage for this saga, and to LunaMidnight1998 on DeviantArt for your artwork being just as inspiring. As much as I can go on with the gratitude, I know your here for the story, so for Spiderman fans of all ages, I present you...

Spectacular Spiders: A Web in Time

Chapter 1: The Medallion

"The power of prayer is still the greatest ever known in this endless eternal universe." (Stan Lee)

It was a fitting Sunday as the sun was shining high in the sky and the usual calming noise of the Forest Hills neighborhood filled the air. That tranquil atmosphere was felt and cherished by the two residents of the Parker household that had just entered their house in their Sunday wardrobe. Peter removed his jacket before hanging it on the stairwell railing and followed his Aunt May into the kitchen.

Reflecting on their morning at church, Aunt May said, "Pastor Wills gave a lovely sermon today."

Peter replied, "Sure did Aunt May. It was both a wake-up call and a reminder to ourselves to never lose sight of what's important in life. In a way, it reminded me of Uncle Ben's advice. Plus, I was really glad Gwen and her dad were able to attend with us."

Aunt May nodded and said with a sad tone, "I as well Peter…sigh, I just get saddened at times that I'm the only family you have now, and you deserve so much more."

Peter rested his hands on her shoulders to console her, "Aunt May don't say that, you do more for me than most parents alive today could ever do for their kids. Now I'm aware there are many parents out there just as wonderful as you and Uncle Ben, but unfortunately, there are also many that aren't, my former friend Harry and his dad are proof of that."

He paused to frown at the bad memory before continuing, "while I will forever miss Uncle Ben, I'm more than grateful to still have you, I always will."

They smiled and hugged before May said, "You've been the son Ben and I were never able to have Peter, and through everything, it's been a privilege to raise you."

"Having you and Uncle Ben around was both a privilege and blessing itself Aunt May," Peter said assuringly.

The elderly Parker recollected herself before grinning at her next statement, "well hopefully one day, you'll be blessed with a child of your own, once you're old enough. I have no doubt you and Gwen together will make very beautiful babies, heeheehee," Aunt May teased.

"AUNT MAAAYYY!..." Peter felt like he got hit by a truck and thrown into a pit, his face going completely red as his embarrassment hit a record peak. He was truly thankful that Gwen had not heard that!

Meanwhile at the Stacy residence…

Having returned home from their church outing with the Parkers, George asked his daughter before entering the kitchen, "I'm gonna get lunch ready Gwen, do you want something?"

"Sure," Gwen softly answered with a nod before heading for the stairs.

His attuned parental instincts sensed something was troubling her, and George asked, "Is something bothering you? You were awfully quiet on the ride home earlier, everything ok?"

Gwen paused on the stairwell before turning to her dad, "yeah, I've just had a lot on my mind, the message given today really got me thinking."

George asked, "about what?"

Gwen sighed and said, "the future…and everything correlated to it. I mean, I know what my goals are, what I want to do with my life, and who I want to do it with. I want to go to college to become a doctor, I want to be able to help people however I can, whether as Gwen Stacy or as Ghost Spider, and on top of that…sigh…I want a life with Peter, as I've always hoped for since the seventh grade."

George nodded before asking, "So what's the problem then? Sounds like you're clear on what you want."

Gwen answered, "I am, I'm just wondering how we'll be able to handle it all. I mean, how many people can say they live two separate lives successfully? One of them being a regular civilian, and the other a masked superhero who fights crime and supervillains on a regular basis?"

She paused, allowing George to take in her words before she finished her thought, "...I know with all my heart that Peter is the one I want to forever be with, but I can't help but wonder how we do it? There's no guidebook for lives like ours."

George asked curiously, "sounds like you're unsure about continuing to be Ghost Spider…are you?"

Gwen immediately shook her head, "No. As I once told Peter, that identity is a part of me as much as Spiderman is part of him. I can't ask him to stop doing what he has to anymore than I can. We were given these gifts for a reason dad, to protect those who can't protect themselves, and to not use them as such is irresponsible. Peter has said himself, 'with great power comes great responsibility'." George was silent as Ben Parker's quote was spoken by his daughter.

Gwen finished by saying, "So no dad, I'm not planning on hanging up the suit, I'm just asking how Peter and I can navigate our double lives when no one else ever has?"

George then explained, "no one can live someone else's life Gwen, only their own. All we can do is give our best each and every day, and have faith that things will work out, even if it doesn't happen right away. Contrary to popular belief, there is no set guidebook on how to live life, as no one's the same, so if you're looking for an outline, you'll have to write it yourself. Though if there's any wisdom I can give, it's this, your mom always said, 'do unto others what you would want done to you'."

Gwen relaxed as she took in her father's words, and the bit of wisdom she received from her late mother. She wondered if Peter had ever asked similar questions to his Aunt May. Maybe he did, and he probably had just as an enlightening experience as she was having right now. Oh, if she only knew!

An hour later at noon, a certain webhead was web-slinging toward his predetermined destination. He eventually landed on the roof of the building across from his favorite deli. Spiderman stood up before looking down at the city from the rooftop edge, watching the people below go about their daily lives while keeping a sharp eye out for any trouble that would call him into action, while also waiting on his partner. Fortunately, it only took a minute to break the silence when he heard to his left someone landing on their feet. He turned and saw atop the roof's aluminum exhaust vent his partner Ghost Spider, sitting in a spider stance.

"Afternoon Spidey," she teased.

"Likewise Ghosty," he cheerily said back, "So, you ready for patrol?"

"Yup, just one thing…" Ghost Spider said back.

"And that would be?" Spiderman asked, though he had a pretty good idea.

Ghosty giggled before jumping down next to him, pulling off her mask and then his. Gwen embraced Peter in a loving kiss as they shared yet another tender moment.

She broke it before teasing him, "...just needed my daily moment with you, heehee."

"You read my mind babe," Peter replied grinning before kissing her again, "sigh, I swear your kisses get sweeter with each passing day."

Gwen blushed and giggled at his teasing and traced his upper chest with her finger before replying, "Heeheehee, easy Mr. Parker, anymore comments like that and I won't be able to keep my hands off you."

Peter slightly panicked before stepping away with his hands up, "oh, sorry…I uh…didn't mean to be so forward."

His behavior confused Gwen, for in one instant, he had gone from a self-confident man to a painfully awkward boy.

"Pete are you ok?"

"Sure, sure I'm fine," he stuttered as he struggled to look at Gwen without turning red, which was happening anyway as the memory of his earlier talk with Aunt May was still fresh with him.

Gwen easily noticed his discomfort and change in color before walking up to him and placing her hand on his cheek before asking again, "Come on baby, talk to me, we tease and flirt with each other all the time, but you've never been this uncomfortable since before we became a thing. What's wrong?"

His girlfriend's persistence did him in, and Peter said exhaustively, "sigh, I'm sorry. It's just what you said, reminded me of something I heard from my aunt earlier, and it was embarrassing to say the least."

Gwen put two and two together before returning her hands as a light blush covered her cheeks before replying, "haha, that's parents for you, they never cease to embarrass their kids, believe me I know." Her color returned to normal while wearing a wry look finishing her comment. She had an idea of what his aunt had said, but didn't want to press it for Peter's sake.

"Haha, yeah I guess you would," said Peter as he relaxed. The two of them sat down together on the rooftop edge with an arm wrapped around the other's waist.

Gwen asked which Peter answered in tandem, "Pete?…yeah?"

"Do you ever think about the future?" Gwen asked him.

Peter thought for a moment, "Umm, well I do everything I can to prepare for the future if that's what you mean?"

Gwen nodded and said, "That's good, but I was actually talking about us. What do you see for us in the future?"

Peter responded, "Oh, do you mean as Spiderman and Ghost Spider, or us as in…us?"

"Both," Gwen said softly, "and please be honest with me, we are a safe place after all." There was a moment of suspenseful silence between them as Peter thought through his words carefully.

"Honestly Gwen," Peter began and concluded sincerely, "I wouldn't want anyone else to spend the rest of my life with."

Gwen's face filled with adoration instantly, her eyes watering with joy from what she heard him say, "really?"

"Really Gwen, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me, and there's no way I'm letting that go."

She snuggled closer to him which he gladly accepted before she whispered to him, "I'm not letting go of you either, I love you Peter, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you too, both as people and Spider heroes."

They broke the hug to gaze into each other's eyes, not a word was said between them for a whole minute, but words weren't needed because the look on their faces said it all.

Peter broke the silence and whispered, "well then…here's to the future."

Gwen concluded in the same tone, "...and to right now."

The two spiders exchanged their most intimate kiss yet, laying aside all their insecurities for the sake of each other. Fireworks were going off in their heads as they settled in the moment. Hearing his girlfriend's proclamations prompted Peter to revisit his earlier conversation with Aunt May with a calmer mind.

'I guess Aunt May is right, I honestly want nothing more than to be with Gwen, not just as her boyfriend, but hopefully someday as her husband. She would be the most beautiful and amazing wife a man could ask for, and a spectacular mother if the time comes.'

Gwen's lovely thoughts were not so different, 'now more than ever, I know I want Peter in my life forever. Having him as my husband and being his wife would be my dream come true, and him being the father of my babies would only make it even more blessed…heeheehee.'

They kept their intimate thoughts to themselves for now, for they were still too young to talk about such things with each other. But as the young couple concluded their romantic moment, they felt more secure in their relationship than ever before.

Time passed by as the day went on to when the sun was about to set, and certain public institutions like the Museum of Natural History were closing for the day. The last patron had been vacated and the building was locked up for the night. This was precisely the moment a certain bystander was waiting for.

Walking up the sidewalk toward the side of the building was a lone man wearing jeans, sneakers, and a green hoodie over his head. He looked like your basic average joe, but what he planned to do was anything but. He walked around to the rear entrance of the building and observed the layout, one lone security camera was turning his way, and about to catch him on tape.

He quickly brought up his right hand which immediately glowed an eerie green, and with a quick wave motion, made the camera glow as well before it returned in the opposite direction away from him. His misdirection complete, the figure pulled off another trick, enveloping his whole body in the same green aura, transforming his appearance from a common street punk to an extravagantly dressed man that gave the impression of a wizard.

The dark-skinned man's face was seen, as was the wicked smirk he wore before approaching the back wall. He drew a circle on it with a glowing pointer finger, opening a portal that led inside the museum. The man stepped inside it before closing it behind him, and all was quiet outside again, like no one had been there.

Inside the museum, the man made his way toward the artifact room, where he knew his quarry lay waiting for him. His previous research said that the museum had recently just acquired some new pieces from some Tibetan ruins and were putting them on a circulatory display around the world, their current stop being New York. One of the items being displayed was his target.

He eventually arrived in the artifact room where the posters surrounding it clearly gave away what was inside. One of them said, 'Behold the extravagance of the long lost Tempus Madayo, Time Medallion!' The man eyed it hungrily as he made his way inside, and toward the display case in the center of the room, where the star attraction lay strung on a vertical base.

The vertical base consisted of two prongs which held up the medallion's necklace suspending it in air. The medallion itself was the size of a common coaster, with an elaborate sketch engraved on its front face that was clearly of Tibetan origin. The man smirked as he eyed his prize with greed.

"Magnificent, after centuries being lost to time, the Tempus Madayo has returned to the present, to help me regain MY lost time," he said before bringing up his hand again to pull off another trick. A ring on his hand glowed as he turned it in a clockwise direction, opening a portal in front of him, and at the same time a portal opened up below the medallion. Waving his free glowing hand, he made the vertical base disappear, releasing the medallion, making it fall through the portal and into his waiting hand.

"At last, it's mine, and next, will be my vengeance," he sinisterly declared, not knowing his previous actions had caught the attention of two special bypassing citizens.
