In the elegant halls of the Hyuga Estate, Neji's friends, Naruto, Lee, Shikamaru, Kiba, and Sasuke, paid him a surprise visit. However, Neji was initially annoyed as he was studying diligently on a weekend to make up for lost time.
"Why don't we see you around during breaks anymore?" Naruto asked, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Neji sighed, "It's because of that one time in the library with Tenten. She was being annoyingly persistent, and now we're stuck with a month-long punishment of cleaning and rearranging books."
The guys couldn't help but tease him, and Kiba jokingly suggested that Neji must have done something to upset his "girlfriend" Tenten. Neji's glare in response only fueled their laughter.
Lee, with his usual enthusiasm, asked, "Is this the springtime of youth for you and Tenten?"
More laughter followed, but Neji shook his head, clarifying, "She's not my girlfriend. We're just med students who happened to clash over a book."
Shikamaru chimed in, "Such a drag. You should've just given her the book to avoid all this trouble."
The teasing continued as the boys playfully speculated on Neji's feelings towards Tenten. "Looks like you've changed your preference, Neji. Fiery, smart, and cute girls like Tenten are more your type," Naruto teased.
"She's stubborn as a mule though," Neji retorted, though a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
The boys chuckled, encouraging him to take a chance with Tenten. Sasuke added his input, "Don't get so worked up if there's nothing going on between you two."
Naruto, never one to hold back, teased, "Who knows, maybe you and Tenten will find yourselves making out in that secluded library area." Laughter erupted once again.
Kiba playfully remarked, "You're lucky, Neji. In your batch, Tenten's got quite the... assets."
Neji's face flushed a deep shade of red as he recalled the moment when Tenten nearly fell, and he caught her just in time. It was a fleeting yet unforgettable moment that left an imprint on his mind.
Putting an end to the teasing, Neji finally said, "Enough with the nonsense. Let's focus on our studies." But his thoughts kept drifting back to that incident with Tenten.
As the days went by, Neji found himself noticing Tenten more often, her fiery spirit and determination captivating him. He appreciated her intelligence and the spark she brought into their otherwise routine days at Konoha University.
Slowly, the teasing from his friends became less of a jest and more of a reminder of a growing curiosity within Neji. The library punishment had unknowingly brought them closer, and he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something special between them.
