It was a long series of days to months after Hazel-rah's passing... I was given a promotion by Bigwig to be Captain of the Owsla. The first human to become an high ranking officer in the Owsla. Clover became chief rabbit, as Bigwig has lined up being the next successor if Clover passes on. Since she became chief rabbit, she maintain the same leadership styles, as Hazel has done. She's even equally patient with Fiver, when it comes to his visions. Bigwig suggested to do patrols different parts of the day: morning, late afternoon, and nightfall.

On one of those days, I went on the late afternoon patrol and came back by the time the sun set. I was hopping over to my chambers, after being debrief from Bigwig at The Honeycomb. He was impressed on how I was dedicated on each of the patrols. Although, we haven't spotted a single fox or weasel sometime. By the time I was near to my chambers, I heard voices coming from there. The voices were Captain Holly's, Hyzenthlay, and Thethuthinnang. I waited for a moment to hear what they were trying to discuss. However, it than went to silence for a minute or two. I wasn't sure if they recognized my scent or heard me coming. With a deep breath, I composed myself and entered the chamber. It was there that I saw my adopted father was reading my long forgotten journal that I had since I was in attending college overseas at the time. We all than looked at each other, as they noticed me entering.

"What are you guys doing?" I stammering asked. "This journal is very private. I mean, no offense, but it's something... that I had once I was a human."

"We're sorry, Kevin." Thethuthinnang apologized, even though the apology wasn't necessary because I figured they were just curious.

"It's not your fault, sister." Hyzenthlay dismissed, before turning to me. "Holly and I were in charge of inspection of each burrow for today. Under Clover's direction, just to make sure there were no damages or faults in the burrow." I understood after her explanation. "We actually got side tracked over your belongings and stumbled upon those stories."

"I didn't know you kept some of our stories here." my mate than was intrigued.

"Yes and no. There were basically notes, at the time I was in college. However, since after I found myself with you all... I thought maybe I could write all this down. Perhaps to share it or keep it to myself, when everyone mostly is gone."

Captain Holly had a concerned look on his face. He was beginning to age, unlike how young he was, but he was about his middle age prime. "Do you really thought that you were going to be a bad father?"

That question got everyone in the room looking at me, even my mate. "It was a question. A question to myself at the time. It wasn't anything negative, but it was just how I felt because when I was still human. Especially after our first love and the seeds grew on Thethuthinnang. I mean I wasn't sure if it was going to be a full human, full rabbit, or it would appear to be half-breed. Which something like this happen often rarely with dogs and wolves though, or other creatures mind you. And the consideration when that a human living in a rabbit's warren: surviving, building a home, and/or even prospering. It is something that Thethuthinnang couldn't make."

"But Kevin-" Thethuthinnang expressed her feeling if I had doubts.

"No, no, it's not what it seems. I meant, that me, as a male (buck), we would be going on about and we do we have to do at times. However, like you and Hyzenthlay. It's somewhat different. You two, alike to the other does of this warren and abroad. You have to go through something living inside you."

"How do you feel now? Do you felt like you regretted having our children?"

I shook my head. "No. I was just... feeling a bit of uncertainty on how it would have went. I standby on what we chose to do, especially bringing more life to this warren. It's something to be very proud of. I hope I didn't hurt you any way. If I did, I'm sorry."

She became silent. It was a thought that I feared it was something I shouldn't have said. It was until she stood up and hopped towards me. We both gazed at each other and... she nuzzled me. I was shocked from what she did. "You didn't hurt me anyway. We trusted and loved each other unconditionally. It was something that I never thought I could have pictured or seeing myself now. In Efrafa, we had to survive and think nothing about freedom, except we were owned by Woundwart. You this, right."

"Of course, I couldn't forget about what you and your sisters went through." I still haven't forgotten about Efrafa.

We caught scents coming about, it was our children. They were still kittens, but were able to roam around the warren.

"Mother and Father, we're back from seeing Grandpa Holly's and Grandma Hyzenthlay's burrow." one of them spoke.

"Kids... umm..." I turned over and tried to convey them to give us more time of privacy over an adult conversation. Thethuthinnang intervened.

"Children, your father, your grandparents, and I are having an important buck and doe conversation. Why don't you kittens find Uncle Bluebell, just until we're done."

"Yes, mother." they agreed.

"Don't worry, it won't be long and we'll come find you, when it's finished. Alright?" I promised. They smiled and hopped along their way to find Bluebell to tell them some stories. The burrow was than left for us adults again.

"If you guys don't mind... there's something I wanted to read to you." I came over and retrieved the journal.

"What is it?" Captain Holly asked.

"Something that might..." I froze. It was something that I had planned. A Eulogy. I flipped through the pages, until I found it. I took some deep breaths, as it was something that I never told him. Nor to anyone. Or even having the thought that I would have shared to this.

What makes a good soldier, is not always makes a good rabbit. Ever since I've heard those words, it stuck with me. From whom, I should ask? The words came from a Captain. A captain, whose rank is an officer, who takes command of his squad or unit-

"Is this about me, Kevin?" Captain Holly questioned.

"You're seriously interrupting me, Dad?" I spoken up for him to be silent for the moment. as I pleaded. "Please."

He than realize it was something important, after Hyzenthlay places her paw on his. He turned back to me, after looking at his mate, and allowed me to continue.

A captain, whose rank is an officer, who takes command of his squad or unit. While he receives orders from his superiors. When I met this captain, before I heard those words... we're strangers. Or worst of all in his standards... elil. However, after the days and into months, we began to speak to each other. As any person should. Neutral, but respect. From series of events that we both dealt with in our past lives connects us. Even when our journey led us to a death camp. One rabbit, and one human. Who shows bravery, while his counterpart, fears for his life. Like a captain would often times, would toughen up his private to face his fears alone without any help. However, this captain is uniquely different than most captains. He should animality, in the human standards humanity. As he told his counterpart to brave himself, he states that he would be by his side. If an injury is afflicted onto this counterpart, the rabbit aids him. When his counterpart was afraid, the rabbit joins him to be marked together. His warmness of his voice... his softness, but rough torn brown back fur and his pure white front fur. His scars shows this human that he has scars from different experience when escaping death. The human has his own scars and markings too, on his back from abuse. When the first piercing stabbed this human, the rabbit calmed the human. While the human cling on tight to the rabbit's fur for comfort and security.

After the daring, but bravery escape, the two really do see more eye to eye and more than just a human to rabbit... It's the bond ship that a son has with a father that he could have in the human world. When he told him, "Dad"... it surprised his fellow rabbits present. Did the rabbit reject, like other rabbits do, when they see elil. Unlike other rabbits. More importantly, like everyone in his new warren, he takes him as a son. Unlike the captain would simply take his soldier to order him to march or take action.

With his guidance and unconditional love, two are now inseparable. As well he is with his mate, after her freedom.

Some of these loves last until death... however, as the Good Book would say in scription, "The Lord giveth, and The Lord taketh away"... from humans. And of course from the rabbit's creator, Frith... "...for, what it is, is what it must be." Those words conflict the fatherly son love that the two shared. Death came in by an army. An army of enemy rabbits, from a vengeful captain. Is the one who orders his bucks to hunt down this rabbit. As the captain received the orders from his general, it was the battle to the death. The humbling rabbit, who adopts this human... and the same rabbit who mates with a freed doe... he realizes that he has to do what he can to protect them, while following his Chief Rabbit's order... not a battle to the death, but to protect those they cherish and love.

When the doe and human were rescued by the same rabbit, he received more scratches and marks, while he protects them. The two captains finally met in a clash. While one fights for revenge, while the other fights for his warren and his family. After a defection from a captain that begins to follow the rabbit's true principle... it's better to be a good rabbit than a good soldier. As it was said before, what makes a good soldier, is not always makes a good rabbit. Those came into this captain while he saw the human and the rabbit marked back at the death camp. The rabbit intervened to save this fellow rabbit, but only to face death.

The sudden death torn his mate and his newly adopted son to pieces. The human attempts to revive him... by The Power of Prayer. His prayer was answered, as his adopted father was brought back to his warren. And he rejoins his mate.

Even after experiencing death too following the battle of our enemies defeat... the human was brought back the warren to rejoin his adopted father and marries a mate of his own. As new life brings... he often brings the question what the human-rabbit child would be... an elil like any other human... or a simple rabbit like any other. As he faces this dilemma, he remembers what his adopted father has said... in short terms, a good rabbit, than a good soldier. It brought more comfort to this realization that the human and his mate's children would probably be half-breed, or human like his/her father... or a rabbit like his/her mother. All the same, they would still be their children... as their hearts, would be a heart of a rabbit. A good rabbit. Who cares for his/her warren, cares for his/her family, his/her chief rabbit, and finally his/her Owsla. In all the same, they would instructed to be good moral rabbit and/or human. With their hearts, as a good morale rabbit. As their grandfather has told his son.

Regrets? You now know my answer... I do not. Because he brought more life into me as a individual, than I was before meeting. A longing Father, that I envied for... a father that inspires me... and a father who is always protective, loving, and above all... a beautiful, kind-hearted father that made me who I am today. Without him... I don't know where I have been without him.

After reading my journal, I sighed in relief that I finished and didn't know what to expect from them. A tear fell from my eye. Captain Holly stood and hopped towards me. His paw on my shoulder, as I looked up to his face. His face shows an fatherly affectionate, warm smile. Just before I could explain what I just read... he knew that there wasn't anymore words to say to him. It was a Eulogy. If I couldn't restore Holly back, during The Siege... this was what I would have describe about him. Instead, we both exchanged hugs, as he nuzzled me.

"Thank you... for being my captain... my friend... and my father." I thanked him.

"It's a honor to call you my son... thousand times." he than spoke. It was fatherly and sonly moment that we just said "I love you".
