That terrible night, where the hidden leaf village had been attacked. Minato had used all of his power, and help of Kushina in her final moments to kill the Nine-Tailed-Fox. The fox demon was vanquished that night, at the cost of their very lives. However it's existence had not ceased completely, it's power is far to great to purge from this world completely. The painful memories that the civilians held of that night were as real as it's continuing existence, festering, reforming itself over time, and in time, may come seek vengeance over the very village that had forsaken it's being.

A boy with dark orange hair strode the village with his hands in his pockets. He was followed by a group of a three other kids, one wore a shirt that was also a deep orange. His hair however was the usual dark brown that was rather common and hung unevenly above his brow. The other 2 boys both wore backwards caps, one red and one white, with the former wearing a blue hood-less jacket and the latter with a black t-shirt with the kanji for Benevolence on it, Which was ironic because the larger boy was anything but.

Naruto, the unspoken leader of the group wore a black jumpsuit with fall red accents at his sides and along his sleeves. The boys took advantage of his brooding silence that he would never question the ones who followed him, and the reputation of him being the son of the fourth Hokage to get second hand special treatment. One instance was when entering a toy shop. The women let out a gasp before a superficial smile cross her face followed by an equally exaggerated superficial welcoming. "Why hello young Namikaze, it's an honor to have the Yondaime's son in my store. What can I do for you and your friends?" She asked with smile that made Naruto feel irritated. But he relented and looked around.

"I can find what I want by myself. You can help these guys behind me." He said and started to look around. He toured the store, seeing toy swords and carved figurines of the 4 individual hokage. He glowered at the figurines, reaching up to the one of his father and rotating it to face towards the wall. "You weren't for me then, I don't need you now either." He muttered as he kept searching, eventually his eyes landed on a set of wooden ninja tools. They were kunai and ninja star replicas made of wood; yeah they would hurt if used on a person, but wouldn't actually do any damage. Seeing nothing else that would be interesting to him, he was drawn to the ninja tool kit. He looked at the price and frowned. It was quite expensive, even with the 50% discount he knew he'd get because of his "father."

Naruto shrugged and walked up to the women at the front of the store and set down the box next to the toys that his "friends" were also getting.

"Haha, a ninja tool kit? That's so lame." The boy with the benevolence shirt said.

"Hn, and you got wooden sword?" Naruto quipped.

"Well yeah, it's like a Samurai's sword!" The large boy responded as he paid for his new toy sword which he was given a generous 30% discount on.

"There's probably a reason why there are more ninja than there are Samurai," Naruto remarked, recalling some of the many stories that he'd heard about some of the impressive feats that some ninja had done. And the things he'd heard about his father from the many stories he kept hearing from the villagers as the Sandaime despite auburn boy trying to make it very obvious he didn't care.

"I thought you said that you didn't even like ninja." Said the boy with the red cap.

"I don't. I can probably figure this stuff out on the first try. Being a ninja is a waist of time. It's just a bunch of stuck up pricks trying to make a statement about how much better they are."

"You mean like that Neji kid?" the kid in the orange shirt recalled.

Naruto growled a bit at the recollection of what had transpired in the past between him and the hyuga branch prodigy started to form in his mind.

~~~1 year ago~~~
Naruto turned around the corner, a trio of moochers only a few feet behind him. The moment he rounded the corner he ended up falling backwards on his rear end. Looking up he saw a boy with long dark hair tied into a pony tail near the end. He had white this pure white eyes that seemed to look down at the fallen boy with superiority.
"Hey! Do you know who you just bumped into!?" One of the boys shouted at the white eyed hyuga male.
"Yeah! That's Naruto Namikaze, son of the fourth Hokage!"
"You should get down on your knees and apologize!" The third one finished with a smirk on his face.
The white eyed brow raised an eyebrow as an irritated yet amused smirk cross his face. "Apologize? I'm afraid your mistaken. He's the one who failed to watch he was going. Being the son of a hokage who was destined to doesn't mean anything to me."
"What was that!?" Naruto said, standing up right and looking into the Hyuga's eyes.
"The fourth hokage was a doomed man. In becoming hokage, fate decided that he was never meant to lead the vilage. It wasn't even a year before his very demise. You were the product of desperate attempt at keeping the fourth Hokage's lineage alive. A desperate attempt that is also doomed to fail." The hyuga replied with an arrogant smirk.
"That does it!" Naruto swung a fist at the boy, only for his fist to pass over his head. The hyuga grab his arm and swing him over his shoulder onto the pavement. Naruto let out a gasp as his eyes went wide as all the air left his lungs. He stared up at the sky, panic filling his eyes as he felt his lungs start to burn. After what felt like minutes, he managed to take in a sucking breath as his chest heaved. The fear quickly as soon as it had come, and it was replaced by fury. He lept back up onto his feet and turned back to the Hyuga boy who was currently facing away from him and towards the other boys who had gotten ready to attack as well. The fourth boys all converged on Neji, 3 infront, and naruto from behind.
Neji used his superior reach to thrust his palms into two of the kids in front of them, knocking them back. There was no chakra in his palms strikes, which was very fortunate for the boys who would have been put in the hospital in critical condition otherwise.
He then planted his hands on the ground and shot his leg up wards behind him, delivering a heel kick to Naruto's stomach, once again taking the fight out of the boy and making him collapse on the ground as he felt the back of his throat burn with stomach acid.
The last boy, who had been approaching Neji from the front, was now backing away as he met the cold calculating gaze of the hyuga boy who was only just a bit older than them. The boy trembled as his body decided now was the time to inform the boy that his bladder was indeed full and needed an exit via a steady stream of warm liquid into his pants. Earning a disgusted yet also amused look from their opponent. "This is the part where you run away."
Without needing further prompting, the kid turned and cowardly ran off, or rather speed waddled, off in his piss soaked trousers.
Hearing a the pained grunts and the dragging of sandals against pavement, and what he could see out of his widely extend periphery, he gathered that the Namikaze boy was still trying to fight. "There is no point getting up again. There is no point in denying your fate." However, instead of eliciting more rage, there was only a bitter laugh as the irony of the situation dawned on Naruto.
"M-man. For a branch member of family, you sure act like you can decide anyone's fate." The boy's words cause Neji to turn around and face him with a glare. A final warning, but Naruto ignored it. "What? Didn't think I'd notice? With those bandages on your forehead it's obvious what you're covering up. I wonder what it must be like. Believing and knowing that no matter what you do. You will always be second pla-."
But Naruto didn't get to finish as the final thing he saw in Neji's eyes, was a fiery rage, before something slammed into the side of his face. And he lost consciousness.
