They were so close, that the reverberations from the fireworks rumbled through them, leaving them almost shaking from the force. And when Kiki paused from watching the sky above them and turned to Mitsuhide, she could see his brown eyes wide trying to take it all in, and he looked beautifully aglow from each firework, painted sometimes red, sometimes green, sometimes orange, sometimes yellow, and sometimes just faintly glowing.

For a moment, she could just admire him and sit close, feel the warmth of him and smell the explosions from each firework. Just as the loud booms rolled through her and Mitsuhide, she could savor the quiet peace of the moment even when the world around them was full of noise.

She'd seen fireworks far too often in the past, though rarely sat this close to them, and she hadn't quite had the opportunity before to watch Mitsuhide light up under their light. And now that she had, she wanted to keep her eyes on the sight.

Granted, Mitsuhide is handsome with or without firework glow, but there is something about celebration with him that draws her in. Just like sharing the little highs and lows together has brought her both closer to him and taught her heart new songs to sing. It's here that she's caught up once again.

"You okay, Kiki?" And he turns to her, brown eyes looking nearly orange or perhaps gold underneath the light of the most recent fireworks.

"I'm fine." She smiles, a tentative little thing just to hopefully comfort. She got caught staring, and while this isn't the first time it happens, it does make her turn away and look back up at the sky, trying to hide the little hints of her own feelings.
