Christmas 2 years later.

Jimmy sat outside on his moms worn trailer steps; hands in his hair as he bowed his head and ran his fingers through the short locks. His mom was inside with some guy he'd never met trying to impress him with the most white trash Christmas he could imagine. Shitty music playing, dollar store decorations and even a few gifts under the good will tree for Lily. He couldn't recall receiving one gift on Christmas - ever. At least she made an effort for his little sister.

"Hey, Rabbit."

Jimmy looked up quickly, surprised to see Shea standing in front of him suddenly. "Shit, Shea. I didn't know you were home." He muttered; standing and closing the space between them - surprised when she reach for him and pulled him into her chest; wrapping her arms around him tightly. Maybe they'd seen each other a handful of times in the past two years, mostly for Lily's sake when she had a program at school that Stephanie never had time for or her birthday that none of the kids from her school gave a shit about. No way their parents were letting them come down this way for some shitty party. Shea always showed up for Lily.

"How are you?"

She'd given up on him a long time ago. When she found out he'd moved in with Jeanine their friendship had all but vanished. Shea kept her head down and worked hard at MU and she was a legit nurse now - standing in front of him in dark blue scrubs that clung to her perfect curves. She looked better now - less malnourished with lighter hair and brighter eyes. Leaving 8 Mile had been good for her - Jimmy not so much.

Jeanine was sucking the life right out of him; like a leach - on crack. They argued constantly. She bitched about him going to The Shelter - going to work, staying home - it didn't matter. She'd been pregnant at least four times in the past two years yet their sex life was non-existent and somehow no baby ever came. He could barely stomach to look at her much less have sex with her but somehow all the bullshit was better than living with his mom in the trailer park.

"I bet Lily's driving y'all crazy wanting to open those gifts I brought by earlier today." Shea muttered; trying to fill the silence that fell over them. Of course those presents under the tree were from Shea - who else would be so thoughtful? Sure as hell not his mother. "Shea… I…" Jimmy ran hands down her arms like he always had; warming her from the bitter Detroit air. His chest tightened as he looked down at her - searching her eyes deeply. His pride wouldn't allow the words to come but he'd missed her every second since she left him two years ago. He ached for her in ways that kept him up for days at a time. "Jimmy…" She whispered back; letting her gaze fall as she took a step away from him.

"I've got to get to work. I… just wanted…" Her voice trailed as she moved further away from him. She loved him - she would always love him; but it was best if they kept their distance. She couldn't get hurt like that again. "Merry Christmas, okay?"

"Yeah. Merry Christmas." He could only watch her go before turning back to his house and stepping inside. "Jimmy! Jimmy! Mama says I can open some of my presents now! Come on!" Jimmy glanced up at Jeanine who was sitting on the worn couch glaring at him and decided to take a seat on the arm of the recliner his mother was in as Lily began grabbing wrapped boxes from under the tree. "This one's for you." She said suddenly; handing Jimmy a long thin box wrapped in shiny blue paper.

Stephanie glanced up and smiled at him; shrugging her shoulders as she nodded to the note tapped outside. Merry Christmas, B. Love Shea. His eyes went wide as he looked at Stephanie - panic on his face. Jeanine would ruin this sweet moment with Lily if she found out Shea - his oldest and dearest friend - had brought him a gift. "T-thanks mom. You.. didn't have to.." Jimmy muttered as Stephanie's smile widened. "Oh. I just got lucky in Bingo last week and thought you deserved something nice for helping me out so much with Lily." She lied; patting him on the back as he opened the box and stared down at the gold chain.

It was legit - 18 karat gold and fell perfectly on his chest as he clasped it around his neck.

"I don't know when mom will be back, Jeanine. Just go home and I'll get Sol or Wink to give me a ride later."

"Why do you even have to stay? Isn't she like… old enough to take care of herself. She doesn't wear diapers does she?" Jeanine asked; glancing behind Jimmy as Lily looked at her with wide eyes - afraid this strange girl would talk her brother into leaving her alone. "She's six fucking years old Jeanine. Just go home."

Jeanine rolled her eyes and pushed past Jimmy and Lily; storming out of the house and the trailer park. The Smith siblings sighed in unison and Jimmy turned around to smile at Lily. "You know I'd never leave you alone, right? I got you." He assured as she wrapped her arms around him in a hug.

"You and Shea aren't here that much anymore." Lily whispered; burying her face in his hip as he put his arms around around her. "Never at the same time."

"I know baby. Things with me and Shea are… fucked." Jimmy muttered; running a hand over his face as he picked her up and hugged her close to his chest - heading down the hall to his old bedroom where he laid her down in her bed and pulled the covers over her. "Jimmy…" Lily whispered; eyes getting heavy. "Yeah baby?"

"Do you think Santa will find us this year?"

"I don't know, baby."

He kissed her on the top of the head and turned to leave; "Jimmy?"

"Yeah?"

"Fix things with Shea. That would be a good Christmas present."

Jimmy smiled; nodding his head slightly as he closed the door behind him and stood alone in the hallway - rubbing the center of his chest as thoughts of Shea consumed him. If it wasn't for her Lily would have had no gifts again this year. "Fuck… Shea." He whispered to himself; slumping down on the worn couch as he covered his face with his hand.

X

Jimmy opened his eyes slowly as the quiet tap filled his head. Why the fuck was Stephanie knocking? Maybe she lost her key, again. He groaned as he stood; stretching his back before moving to the door and peering out into the trailer park. Shea stood on the small porch with a handful of wrapped Christmas presents - a bright moon hanging behind her in the sky. Jimmy opened the door for her as she stepped inside the trailer and glanced around; sighing in relief as she realized Lily was asleep.

"I wish I could have afforded presents for her before now. I've been working overtime at the hospital for two months so she could finally have a Christmas."

Jimmy could only watch in amazement as he helped her with the gifts; stacking them around the tree. "Is that how Santa puts them out?" He whispered as she shrugged with a laugh. "Hell if I know."

Once they were done Jimmy turned to Shea; closer to her than he expected as she looked up at him and smiled. "Thank you… for all of this."

"Well. I didn't do it for you." She assured; looking away as he took her hands in his. "I miss you… Shea."

"I gotta go." She said suddenly, turning back to the door and retreating to the porch. "Shea. Just, hold up. Talk to me for a minute."

Jimmy followed her out on to the porch; grabbing her arm as he turned her back to face him. He was taken back at the tears in her eyes. "I didn't… do any of this for you. You weren't even supposed to be here."

"Well I'm here - unlike you for the past two years. You didn't even come back Shea - you just abandoned me in this shit hole."

"I did come back! A week later I used all my fucking money to take the bus back here and do you know where I found you? At the chin tiki in a dark corner with Jeanine McCarthys tongue down your throat! You didn't even give it a week before you moved on with her. Fucking asshole."

Jimmy winced as she jerked her arm away from him; glaring.

"She was the only shot I had at getting away from Stephanie. She was driving me insane and without you here to counter act her crazy what the fuck was I susposed to do?"

"It doesn't even matter, Rabbit. I'm happy for you. I bought that chain for you two years ago.. was gonna give it to you on your birthday but shit got weird faster than I thought it would. I just wanted you to have it now. It doesn't mean anything. You don't mean anything anymore."

It was Jimmy's turn to glare.

"You don't fucking mean that. I know you feel it," He pointed to his chest. "I fucking know it eats at you too Shea. You wouldn't be here if it didn't."

Shea shook her head no. "Not anymore, B. I gotta go. Make sure Stephanie doesn't take the credit from Santa for those gifts. Kid deserves to think Santa gives a shit about her."

Jimmy watched as Shea disappeared across the lawn; nearly running from him as Stephanie pulled into the driveway and cut the lights. "What are you doing out here?"

Jimmy watched Shea go into her moms trailer without looking back before he answered. "Can you give me a ride back to Jeanine's?"

Stephanie studied him for a long moment before she nodded; "Get in."

X

One year later.

Jimmy placed his car keys on the kitchen table of his shared apartment with Jeanine; grabbing the large trash bag and throwing it over his shoulder. Three years was three years too long to have stayed with Jeanine and now she was claiming she was pregnant for the fourth… fifth time this year? Every time he told her it was over between them she miraculously become impregnated with his child; despite them barely even speaking to each other.

He couldn't take this shit anymore. It was time to go back to the trailer park; hustle at this new job at the plant and save up some money for studio time.

Jimmy didn't look back as he left the apartment; footing it towards the railroad tracks.

X

Jimmy pushed himself onto his mother's vehicle and looked out into the trailer park. Greg had left twenty minutes ago after their brief fight, assuring his mother that he wasn't going to take any of 'Rabbit's' shit.

"You have to get along with Greg, Rabbit. You can't fuck this up for me."

He looked up as his mother walked out on the small porch holding two beers in her hand. She smiled at him and walked over.

"He started it."

"Greg is going to be my ticket out of here... I just know it."

Jimmy sighed, shaking his head in disbelief. His mother had always counted on a man to change her life, instead of getting a job and supporting her own family.

"I had a ticket out and look at me... right back in the eight one oh-no."

Stephanie looked over at her son and frowned, "What happened with you and Jeanine? I thought you were getting married."

"Who told you that?"

"It's just going around."

He assured her that it was just 'talk' - more than likely made up by none other than Jeanine herself. He sighed at the thought, dreading the moment when his ex realized he wasn't coming home.

A vehicle very much like the one he was sitting on slowly pulled into the trailer park, parking outside of Shea's trailer. He looked up and watched as a young woman emerged from the car - carrying three brown bagfuls of groceries.

Shea sat one of the bags down on the porch and fished her keys out of her pocket, turning towards Jimmy's trailer for a moment. To her surprise, he was sitting on Stephanie's car - staring at her like he was seeing her for the first time.

She'd avoided him like the plague ever since Christmas last year.

Stephanie lifted her hand in a wave.

"She living back here now?" Jimmy asked; finally letting his eyes fall from hers as she went into the trailer and closed the door. "Yeah. Her mom left town with husband number six. I think they went to Indiana or something ." Stephanie muttered; shaking her head. "Whatever happened with you and Shea anyway? I thought you really cared about her…"

"I don't know, mom. I need to get some sleep." He took in a breath and turned to his mom, "Can I get a ride to work in the morning?"

X

Jimmy sat behind the wheel of his 'birthday present' and sighed, hitting the dash. The engine sounded truly sick - and wouldn't even turn. It was hopeless - another day he'd be getting to work late. Manny was going to fuck him up when he finally got there.

He got out of the car and lifted the hood; staring into the motor as if he had any idea how to fix a broke down car. "Fuck!" He growled; slamming the hood down. To his surprise, Shea was standing beside the car. "Kiss your mother with that mouth?" She asked; placing her hands in the pockets of her pink scrubs. "Fuck no." Jimmy assured with a laugh - meeting her blue eyes.

"You need a ride?"

"Man, you don't even know how bad I need a ride."

"Where you working now?"

"Detroit Stamping."

Shea nodded towards her trailer. "Alright. Come on." She assured as they made their way across the lawn and Jimmy got in beside her - glancing her way as she pulled the car into reverse and eased out of the driveway.

"So, you living back here now?" She's asked quietly; glancing in the rear view mirror. "Yeah. Saving up for studio time."

Her eyes met his. "Wow. That's next level." Jimmy grinned at the thought. "What about your fiancé?" Shea continued; avoiding his glare. "It's just me now." He assured quietly; "You seeing anybody?" Adding.

Shea turned to look at him quickly then laughed. "Nope. Fuck that." Jimmy raised an eyebrow; his smile growing. "So, you a real nurse now? Saving lives and shit?"

"I guess you could say that. I work at the retirement home down in Warren. Mostly checking blood pressures and keeping people company."

"Much better than pressing buttons all day." He assured as she pulled into the parking lot of Detroit Stamping and shut off the engine. "Yeah. You're probably right about that." They sat in silence for a moment; searching each others eyes before Jimmy sighed and turned to open the door. He was already late. "Thank you for the ride. I owe you one."

Shea leaned over and looked up at him with a genuine smile. "You really do. You can buy me a drink at the Chin Tiki tonight… if you're going out with Fut and Bob." Jimmy's eyes went wide. "Alright. Yeah." He assured - watching dumbfounded as she left him standing in awe in the parking lot.

X

"Shea don't hardly come out with us anymore, B. You're a lucky man." Future assured; slapping Jimmy on the back as they made their way into The Chin Tiki bar and towards their larger than life friend Sol who was sitting at a table with DJ Iz, Wink and Shea. The latter was still in her bright pink scrubs - laughing at some stupid shit Sol was saying as she held a shot glass to her parted lips. The way the low light highlighted her features stopped Jimmy in his tracks. Fuck, she was beautiful.

Future grinned at his friend and shoved him towards the table.

"Yo! There he is!" Wink called; slapping hands with Jimmy. "B-Rabbit!" Bob announced to the table as he slid in beside Shea - much to Jimmy's dismay. "We got the gang back together finally. The beautiful doctor Williams gracing us with her presence!" Future teased - nodding to the waitress as she came over and took their drink orders. Shea looked up to meet Jimmy's eyes as he watched her intensely.

"Yo. Y'all stop eye fucking each other - Jimmy; you had your chance. Let Cheddar Bob have his shot." Future laughed watching Jimmy's eyes narrow as Bob glanced at Shea as if he ever had a chance with her. "Oh my god! Get fucked - all of you. I'm just here trying to have a good time!" Shea assured with a laugh; stealing Future's shot from in front of him as she drank it down quickly.

X

"Yo, Rabbit? Ain't that Jeanine? I thought she was pregnant."

Jimmy followed Cheddar's gaze to Jeanine who was sitting with her posse across the room; glaring at him from the rim of her mixed drink. He glanced back to the dance floor where Sol, Future and Shea were moving to the music. "I'm out guys. I'll be outside." He assured; sliding out of the booth quickly. Cheddar Bob stood to follow him outside only to be shot down. "By myself."

Future and the others found their way back to the table; watching Jimmy disappear outside. Shea took a drink of her Long Island and moved to follow him; only to have Cheddar intervene. "He said he was going outside by himself." Cheddar assured; frowning as Shea ignored him and left the group. "Somehow I don't think he'll mind if she follows him." Sol said with a laugh as he finished her drink once she left.

X

Jimmy sat on the hood of Sol's mom's car listening to his disc man; bobbing his head to the beat as he glanced up and noticed Shea walking towards him slowly. He knew Shea better than anyone in this world - even with the gap in their relationship and he knew when she was drunk.

"Hey dope rapper." She said; giggling softly as she pulled herself up beside him on the car. "You know Sol's mom would shit a brick if she knew we were sitting on her car, right?"

Jimmy just shrugged; grinning at her.

"So, Wink says you're really going places in the rap game. Winning battles. Getting studio time. He said he can take you places." Shea assured; trying to keep a straight face. "Wink's full of shit." Jimmy muttered; rolling his eyes at the thought.

"Did they tell you I froze up at The Shelter the other night? Embarrassed the shit out of myself."

"I was there." Shea assured; leaning her head back to appreciate the slight breeze in the air. "What?" She looked at him and smiled. "Yeah. Why are you surprised? I'm your biggest fan."

"Well, now I'm really fucking embarrassed."

"Don't be. Fuck those free world assholes. They can't rhyme shit. You'll get them next time."

Jimmy smiled; glancing over at Shea again. After everything they'd been through she was still in his corner. "Shea, listen. All that shit that went down with us…"

Shea lifted her hand to stop him. She didn't want to do this tonight. Tonight was about being in the present and having fun with her friends. Friends she hadn't seen in years. "It's fine, B. We were just stupid kids - all that shits in the past." She assured with a smile that caused his chest to ache. "It doesn't feel like the past…" Jimmy muttered; looking past her to Jeanine who was stalking towards them. Shea followed his gaze and groaned; sliding off the car quickly.

"Good luck with that shit." She said with a laugh; turning back to The Chin Tiki - ignoring Jeanine's glare as she pushed past her.

"What the fuck do you want, Jeanine?"

"Why haven't you called?"

Jimmy rolled his eyes; running a hand over his face. "We broke up."

"Thanks for letting me know."

Jimmy stood from Sol's car - meeting her accusing eyes before looking to see Shea disappear back into the bar. "I don't know what else you want me to say. At least I left you the car."

Jeanine laughed suddenly; wrapping her arms around her thin figure. "Oh wow. Thanks for that piece of shit. What the fucks wrong with you? You think Shea Williams is going to give you another shot? After what you did to her?"

"What I did to her?! Fuck you Jeanine." Jimmy pushed past her to follow Shea inside. "I heard about you choking at the Shelter. Everyone's talking about it - said you got boo'd off stage. Fucking loser." His back went stiff at her words as he turned and glared at her. He'd never wanted to hit someone so bad in his life. "Fuck you Jeanine."

"Nobody's ever going to want you - not Shea, not your fucked up mom - no record labels. You're a fucking loser!" She yelled, backing away from him as her friends from high school finally emerged from the bar and gathered around the car he'd left her. Jimmy could only watch with rage as they laughed at him and piled into her car - flipping him off as the drove away.

"Fucking bitch."

X

Jimmy walked into The Chin Tiki ten minutes later once his anger subsided. Sol, Iz and Bob were at the booth and he spotted Future in a corner with two pretty girls but Shea was missing in action.

"Welcome back, homie. Jeanine was asking about you."

He slapped hands with Sol and groaned at the thought. "Yeah, she found me - fucking bitch." Sol laughed at the thought and nodded. "Shea still here?" There was only one exit and he hadn't seen her leave. Iz nodded towards the bar. Shea was sitting in front of the bartender; finishing her third Long Island Iced Tea of the night and smiling up at the asshole who fixed her another.

"Yo, Rabbit. That ain't your girl no more so don't be going over there embarrassing yourself, alright? Shea ain't hung out with us in years because of your psycho ass…" Sol muttered before moving back to the dance floor. "Yeah, Rabbit. Shea ain't your girl no more." Bob repeated causing Jimmy to narrow his eyes. "Fuck off, Cheddar." He snapped - moving towards the bar to take the seat beside Shea. She looked up at him slowly - completely oblivious to the world around her now and smiled brightly. "Heeey! Jimmy!"

Jimmy smiled back at her and handed the bartender a twenty; paying for her drinks. "This is my best friend - Jimmy Smith Jr. He's a real dope rapper." Shea assured the bar tender who nodded and took his money; eyeing him carefully before disappearing to the other end of the bar. "I've missed you." She assured with a laugh. "Where have you even been anyway?"

"Outside."

"Oh yeah, with that bitch from high school. Gross." Shea muttered; glancing down at her drink before placing the straw in her mouth and taking a long pull. A groan escaped her once she swallowed; "I think I need to lay down."

Jimmy watched as she placed her head on her arm and closed her eyes; groaning again. "Yo, you alright? When's the last time you drank like this?" Jimmy asked softly; placing his hand on her back gently. She was quickly turning a lovely shade of green and silent as the grave. "Shea?"

"Yo! How many of these has she had?" Jimmy demanded as the bartender made his rounds back to them. "Isn't there a law about over serving someone? The fuck."

"Big Sexy over there drank most of her first two drinks. She's just a light weight." The bartender assured; rolling his eyes as Jimmy turned his attention back to Shea. "Hey. Let's get out of here?" Shea lifted her head slightly and nodded; nearly falling on her face as Jimmy reach for her - steadying her on her feet as he slid an arm around her back. "I rode with Sol and Iz."

Jimmy glanced at the clock on the wall; almost eleven - Sol and his brother would have to be home by midnight anyway. Their mom had a strict curfew as long as they still lived under her roof; he idly wondered how it felt to have parents that gave a shit. "Alright. Come on. Lean against me."

Shea did as she was told; her light perfume filling his senses as he clutched her tighter to his side. Once they made it to the booth Sol glanced up at them; grinning. "Yo. It's almost midnight. You think you could give us a ride to the tracks? My car broke down as soon as I got out of the trailer park."

Sol's eyes went wide. "Fuck. Yeah - we got to go. Yo, Fut? You good?" Future was still in the corner with the two girls. He lifted his hand in a wave and nodded as Sol and Iz stood to their feet. "What about you, Bob?" Cheddar Bob glanced over to Future who probably wasn't going home alone tonight and nodded. "Yeah. I'm out." He assured; standing to his feet quickly.

"Yo. She ain't gonna puke is she? My moms still giving me shit over that rug you ruined back in the day." Sol asked; sliding through the booth to stand beside Bob.

"She's good." Jimmy assured; holding Shea's weight up as she leaned against him nearly passed out from her consumed liquor. The last time she'd drank this much they were in high school and it showed as she stumbled with him towards the exit. "Man. Make sure she don't puke in my moms ride. For real." Sol muttered as they left the club.

X

Sol glanced in his rear view mirror; the scene in his backseat almost heart breaking. Shea was laying passed out cold on Jimmy's chest and he had his arm around her protectively; a content look on his face. Sol hadn't seen his friend this like this in a long time.

"Jimmy?" Shea whispered suddenly; causing an ache to fill his chest as she looked up to meet his hooded eyes. "Yeah?"

"Do you love that stupid girl from high school?"

She was talking about Jeanine who would shit a brick if she knew that Shea didn't even remember her name. "Fuck no. I've only ever loved one person my whole life." Jimmy whispered; tightening his arm around her thin frame. "Mmm." Was all she said as she laid her head back down on his chest. Sol met his eyes in the rear view mirror and shook his head.

X

"Peace out, Rabbit. Take care of our girl." Sol muttered as Jimmy pulled Shea from the back seat and steadied her on her feet. "Alright, man. Thanks for the ride. I owe you."

"Yo, B - just remember. A drunk girls words are a sober girls thoughts." With that said Jimmy closed the back door and watched Sol drive over the railroad tracks; his taillights disappearing a few moments later. He stood alone with Shea in the deserted street - Cheddar and his mom had moved out of the trailer park a few years ago. They stood in shadows as Shea moved closer to him - looking out of place in her Barbie pink work clothes.

"You gotta work tomorrow?" He asked; nodding towards the trailer park as they began to move. "No. Thank God. I'm going to have a hangover from hell." Shea assured with a fit of giggles; holding onto his arm as they stepped carefully over the train ties. Her hand on his arm was ice cold but it sent a spark of fire straight to his chest. "You're freezing." Jimmy muttered; glancing up as a low rumble of thunder filled the sky. "Shit…" Rain began to fall a second later.

X

"We're soaked, Shea. Where's your keys?" Jimmy whispered between them as she bent over and continued to laugh as if he'd said the funniest thing known to man. He glanced over at his own trailer - narrowing his eyes at Greg Buehl's beat up car in the driveway. No way in hell he was dealing with that shit show tonight; he could only pray that Lily was sleeping soundly. Jimmy sighed in frustration and reach for Shea; shoving a hand in the front pocket of her pants as a gasp escaped her. A second later he pulled her keys out and went to the front door.

Much like his own home her trailer wasn't much warmer inside; causing Shea to close the space between them in the dark and slide her hands around him quickly - catching him off guard. He'd given her the thin coat he always wore once it started raining but it was as no use; they were both soaked to the bone and Shea was beginning to shiver.

"We gotta get out of these clothes." Jimmy whispered; unable to pull away from her as her icy fingers slid under his shirt and grasped at his abs. "Okay…." Shea assured softly as she removed her hands from his skin and slid the jacket off her shoulders; pulling her top over her head quickly. Jimmy swallowed hard - staring as she stood before him in a white lacy bra; her chest rising and falling quickly.

"I've missed you." She whispered as Jimmy took a step towards her; leaning down so that their faces were inches apart. You could hear a pin drop in her small living room and she was everywhere - surrounding him with her familiar perfume. He had missed her - ached for her - every second since she'd left for college. "Shea…" She stepped up on her toes to close the space between them - her lips inches from his own. "I've missed you so fucking much…"

Shea kissed him suddenly as he wrapped his arms around her back and pulled her into his chest; deepening their kiss as a groan escaped her throat. They stayed that way until their lungs burned for air and Shea stepped back on her heels; gasping. The amused; intoxicated look in her eyes was long gone as they studied each other intensely.

"You really hurt me with all that shit with Jeanine." She whispered after a minute; their bodies still dangerously close to one another as Jimmy touched her cheek; her eyes searching his. "I know. Everything got so fucked up so fast but I never gave a shit about her, Shea. It's always been you - it's always going to be you."

Shea let her eyes fall; taking a step back from him finally. "I'm cold." She assured as Jimmy ran his hands down her arms and turned towards her bedroom; leading her towards her bed as he fumbled through her closet and handed her some dry clothes. He kept his back to her as she changed quickly and climbed into bed; trying desperately not to think about every inch of her body he knew so well.

"Most of this shit is mine…" Jimmy muttered; glancing at Shea as he pulled out a pair of gray sweat pants he'd been looking for for years and an oversized white shirt. To his surprise she was passed out on her stomach in the gray shirt and white panties he'd handed over; her breathing soft and regular causing her body to rise and fall with every sigh.

Jimmy pulled on his lost clothes and closed the space between them; remembering all the times he would lay awake at night watching her sleep when they were teenagers. He felt like a creep now but she was so painfully beautiful to him he couldn't look away. "Jimmy…" Shea whispered; startling him as he leaned in closer to her - the bed sinking with his weight. "Yeah, baby?"

"Don't go, okay?"

"Okay." He whispered; the weight of the day finally catching up with him as he placed his arm around her waist and pulled her into his chest; burying his face in her soft hair as sleep took him in quickly.
