It all started one night when Tori, Andre, Cat, Robbie, Beck, Jade, and Trina were all sitting in the Vega's living room around the TV, which only Trina was paying attention to. During a commercial break, a confused Robbie asked Trina, "what are we watching again?" Trina replied, "Hannah Montana's on Jay Leno again tonight."
Annoyed, Jade cut in, "Why do you care so much about Hannah Montana? You're never gonna be like her. No one likes you!"
Suddenly, the commercial break ended, and Hannah appeared, sitting next to Jay Leno. Jay Leno told her, "So Hannah you said you got some big news for us. Half our staff thinks you're running for governor. The other half thinks you're going back on Flitter, and Lenny's hoping you're back for him. Hannah replied, "No, no, and Lenny, get a life." Jay Leno asked her, "What is it? I don't wanna be pushy but I've never had the same person on twice in one week.
Then, Hannah replied, "Actually, Jay, that's still kinda true. I'm not the same person." Back in the Vega's living room, everyone's face developed a confused look.
On the TV, Jay replied, "no, of course you're not." Suddenly, Hannah got up, saying, "I think it would be easier this way," with Jay asking her, "where you going? What are you doing? Lenny, I'm starting to think you dodged a bullet with this chick."
Hannah walked over to where her band was, and said, "I wrote this song about an 11-year-old girl who wanted to be a rockstar... but she also wanted a normal life, so she pretended to be somebody else. And that was great for a little while but... she's 17 now and life is even more complicated and... she just doesn't want to pretend anymore. Her name is Miley Stewart." Then, "Hannah" reached at her wig, pulling it off to reveal that she was really a brunette.
Back in the Vega's living room, the gasp from the live audience was clearly heard through the TV, and suddenly, Robbie fainted.
On the TV, Jay Leno added, "whoa, take that kitty cat flushing the toilet." Miley then said, "Anyways, it's been a long time since I've sung about my friend here, so … hope you like it."
Then, she started singing:

Back in the Vega's living room, everyone had their mouths open wide in shock, realizing that this girl they didn't recognize managed to hide herself under the wig for several years. Robbie regained consciousness, and, noticing that Miley, not Hannah, was on the TV, asked, "so this wasn't a dream?" Cat nodded her head, telling him that it was real.
Suddenly, Trina stood up, excitedly telling the gang, "I'll do it!" Confused, Tori asked, "huh?" Trina replied, "I'll put on a wig and live a double life as a normal person and a pop star just like Miley and Hannah did." "But you're a terrible singer," Tori added. Trina told her sister, "They won't know it was me, I'll be wearing a wig."
"But your voice will still be terrible," Tori said, "You just heard Miley sing. If she didn't take off the wig, we wouldn't have known that Hannah was really her." Trina replied, "I don't care what you think, I'm still doing it," before Jade cut in, yelling, "No one likes you!"
